@Nykoria Tallis and @Darmus Onn were beset upon by Sirius and his reinforced checkpoint. The Sith's grin widened in response to Kori's initial words confirming both her presence and her sense of determination. This was good. Unbeknownst to Sirius however was the Jedi's plan to drop the hall on him as oppose to actually try and fight. He waited in place as Kori announced her "plan" in a stage whisper to the Ranger hiding in cover, gathering the Dark Side to himself, and then raised an eyebrow a moment later as no assault came. Boring! Well, if the Jedi didn't feel like playing the game properly then Sirius would just have to volunteer someone else. The Ranger would do.

Sirius' left arm rose up to grasp the Ranger's weapon, and weapon arm, in an iron telekinetic grip in order to drag it and the man himself bodily into the hallway several seconds after Kori had begun burning through the ceiling. Unless mitigated in some way, this would both prevent Darmus from firing his weapon anywhere but into a wall and also open him up to a full volley from the destroyer droid, which would in fact begin to fire should the Ranger make it at least partly into the hallway. If the Jedi was anything like Sirius expected, the Ranger being put into quite mortal danger would draw her from whatever it was she was up to. If Kori didn't render aid to her companion he would likely be taken out long before she had even gone through the duracrete ceiling, after which Sirius could deal with the Jedi unhindered. Sirius also began to walk forward toward the ranger, lightsaber up in a steady guard.

Of course she could always continue on with her lengthy plan, hoping the Sith wouldn't catch on, and leave the Ranger to be cut down mercilessly by blaster fire. She could take the chance of using Darmus as a pawn, a distraction to be discarded, and that his horrible death would give her the several minutes she'd need to collapse the hallway from above. But that wouldn't be very Jedi like, now would it? But if Kori did maintain her course and intend to drop the ceiling, her vanished presence and the sound of cracking duracrete would alert Sirius that something was amiss. He would then aggressively and at speed leave the hallway, through or around Darmus if still necessary. He would move forward in a guarded rush under such circumstances into the safety of the adjoining hallway, leaving the droid and the soldier to be crushed soon afterwards by the weight of falling stone.

CORUSCANT

The moment Kori felt the Force coalescing around Darmus's arm, she knew that her long-term plan was foiled. Sirius must've heard her cutting through the ceiling and acted first. As usual, the Sith exploited a person who couldn't resist the Force. And it was Knight Nykoria Tallis who had coerced that man into helping her. She had used him already, and would have done so again. But sacrificing him for a potential long shot of getting the drop on the Sith? No kriffin' way! She might have been reckless and looking for a fight, but her priorities in a fight were straight.

Stealth and subtlety were out the window. So was the need to cut the passage to the room above. All Kori would require was a chunk of duracrete large and thick enough. The lack of need to conceal her actions from Sirius meant that the Zeltron could get it done much sooner. Yet with the way things were going, she wouldn't get to that just yet. Maybe later, once the Ranger was out of the immediate danger. For the time being, the chunk of the ceiling remained dangling above. The duracrete was holding; but the crumbs falling to the ground indicated that it could get loose if yanked hard enough. Though physical force wouldn't suffice just yet.

"Hold on!" the Zeltron shouted to the Ranger, whose name she hadn't even asked in all the commotion. With her blade extinguished, Kori jumped towards him. No longer under the dangling duracrete, but still behind the corner from Sirius and his cronies, Nykoria's arms would wrap around the unknown Ranger's chest, as she'd try to pull him away from the corner; her goal to get the ranger and his weapon hand behind cover again. Kori's physical strength had to suffice; but in the worst case, she was prepared to use a telekinetic grip of her own to help her finish the job.

Marissa could only chuckle with a sly grin on her face as Preef made the call to Kel and shared his plan, it was all too perfect, and if this was to be the start of their own little smilethan this had been an operation more successful than it had any right to be,

"No you're right, I don't see the need" she laughed back at him. How could she not at this point? After so many jobs from the syndicates that had sent the pair to the most miserable, dangerous, outright hostile places in the galaxy to make stories even grimmer than that she had to admit, this felt like a win. A well deserved win.

Even if she did get locked up for it.

And with a ship ready and waiting for them it seemed as if they had a reliable ally who might see things their way, only time would tell though. For now, even cutting in Kel still left them all much the richer than they had been at days start.

Only one thing played on her mind. She and Preef were both Enforcers for their respective syndicates, well regarded ones at that. There was no love lost between scoundrels disappearing from work, so long as the Syndicates got their cut but for the two of them... well, she didn't think they'd see it that way. They'd have a tightwork to walk to get where they were going at this point, but it seemed a better option then staying where they were.

Time for that little 'negotiation' would come later. For now, the hum of the speeder overtook the rumble of conflict at the Ranger HQ as the pair jetted off to meet Kel at the 'Afterlife', whatever the hell the Black Suns and the Sith were up to was no part of her concern.

Not anymore.

Saying that it surprised Darmus that while taking what he thought were split-second potshots around a corner the Sith managed to Force grip the hand that held said blaster before he even got off his first shot, would be an understatement. True, he didn't have any experience fighting the Force sensitives, but an enemy having this much power and precision reaffirmed his position that the ranger service had no business fighting the Sith. All of that would be food for thought after today's events, though, assuming he survives, ofcourse. Immediately feeling the pull towards the hallway, Darmus threw his weight backwards and grabbed whatever he could to resist it. Luckily the Jedi at his side aided his efforts by grabbing him and pulling him back, which all did the trick to break the Sith's grip before the droideka could fire off a shot precise enough to hit the arm in the second it was exposed.

No doubt the Sith was engaged in some mental gymnastics considering alternatives and hypotheticals just like the Jedi appeared to be.. too preoccupied with out-thinking each other to accept the simplicity of a short fight. Darmus knew that they didn't have to rush through that corridor, for if the Sith wanted a chance to escape they only had a very limited window on a city-planet like Coruscant and inside a high-value-building like the Sector Rangers Galactic Headquarters. They were only dealing with whoever happened to be close enough, but soon the security forces would arrive in force and prevent any escape speeder or ship to leave.

Taking a few steps back and towards the security door, Darmus kept the stun blaster aimed at the corner as he opened the line with Corran (@TerranSteel) again. "Corran, it's Darmus. There's Sith in the basement! What's your location?" It made no sense. Why blow it up and then go inside? What were they after? Why the significant change in tactics compared to their massacre at the Corellian ranger station, or indeed the prison.

The Sector Ranger motioned for the Jedi (@Catbert) to take a few steps back as well. She had weakened the ceiling near the corner enough that it could surprise the Sith and the further they lured him away from his back-up the better their chances at survival became.

The Sith was retreating. She only had one second of pride at that when the air started to suck out of the room. Her stomach dropped, and she started to scrabble away quickly.

Karkin' hell these freakin' Force losers---

The thought was interrupted by the boom and sudden searing heat, and she shouted out once hoarsely, tumbling arse over head behind the steel door that, before, had attempted to bisect her. Heat licked at her arms and legs, aggressive and hot, and she bit out a furious, painful growl, ending with a bellow as she could feel it assault the steel and lick even over the edge of the door.

Her hands trembled, her breathing coming in hot, hard gasps as the pain skyrocketed. But still, she gripped her stun weapon. She might not be the fastest sharpshooter on the planet, but if this big bad boy was intent to roast her to a new dimension, she had more coming.

Thank kark for backup drives and other spacey tech. Neurons screamed, cold sweat dotted her brow but she wasn't gonna go down quietly. Not if that little red-eyed witch wanted to waste his time on one measly little Ranger. But she wasn't up for running anytime soon; she would just keep doing by the code of the Rangers.

Let them karking try and make hers an easy end. But if she didn't get medical attention soon, she could possibly lose a limb or two.

All in the name of service.

It began as a tingling. Almost unnoticeable compared to the trickling blood running down the Ranger’s cheek. He was too focused on sending his fierce resistance in the shape of blue bolts against an enemy that out-matched him to notice at first. Trini’s drop from the ceiling ductwork only cracked through his tunnel-vision because he had lost track of her entirely. In the blink of an eye, blaster bolts were unleashed but the Sith athletically leapt backward, not only dispersing Corran’s shots, but slicing upwards toward the Amaran. In trained response, the wounded young man kept firing with the trusty Power 5 to suppress their opponent and give Trini a chance to get out of harm’s way.

A sealed security door bumped into the blond youth’s back. He had retreated as far back as he could. The Sith stood at the opposite end of the hall in defensive posture. Tingling in his face had spread to his forehead and jaw, while the epicenter of the wound began to burn with growing intensity. The Ranger’s boot stepped on the thrown sword from earlier and he glanced down. Just then, his commlink also chirped. It was Ranger Onn announcing Sith in the basement and demanding location again. Only now did Corran’s fire cease, but he kept his weapon pointed at the target. The sharp pain was growing, like tentacles across his face. Was the cut deeper than he knew? “I know, Darmus,” came the gruff retort over the communicator, interrupted by heavy breaths, “Security door. Rear of HQ. Landing pad entrance. I’m engaging the enemy.”

With his free hand, the injured Ranger wiped his face with a sleeve. Blood smeared across his cheek like war-paint. He knelt down and gripped the handle of the vibrosword that had missed him earlier. His own liquid life-force still colored the blade. Rising back to his whole height, sword in hand, blaster in the other, he looked everything like a determined, wounded warrior of old. Cold eyes stared beneath a furrowed brow at the Sith across the space of the entire hallway. Blue light belched from the sidearm again, in a consistent staccato. Each shot another attempt at stopping his opponent. At resistance.

Pain now snaked down the young man’s neck and reached the back of his skull. What was happening? He couldn’t stay here against the door. With each blaster shot, Corran took a small step forward. Not to close the gap, but to keep fighting. A distraction against the searing flame now spreading through the once-tingling tendrils. The sword, once held in a tight grip, began to lower and eventually scrape the floor. Finally, the Ranger stopped and used the bloody weapon as a cane. The inferno across his face burned behind his eyes, forcing him to close one in a biological attempt of pain suppression. The forward march stopped.

“RaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!” A blood-curdling yell in pain. In fury. In defiance. So loud and primal that it likely would echo through the basement, ducts, and open spaces. Like the lashes of a whip, pain slashed in stripes across his back and chest. Yet his firearm held firm. Stun bolts, while less consistent, kept coming. Corran fell to one knee, teeth barred and clenched, holding the sword-crutch firm. A trigger pull. He wouldn't be captured and have his head cut off. He wouldn't die begging. Another trigger pull. Not now. Another trigger pull, one after the other. He'd do the Sector Rangers proud.

-THEME-

She had paused, about to tend the wounded on the second floor. She was poised, stairwell door open, but a sudden scream from below snapped her attention down. A bellow that sliced immediately her awareness. One enemy had been silenced permanently... but that scream was familiar.

She felt numbed. All that anger, all the rage directed, focused down to a narrow point. The point of the origin of that sound.

Something deep, dark, and primal stirred within. Something hungry. She hadn't realized she had darted from the stairwell until she was almost flying down the stories down, the Force augmenting her movement. Her heart was thundering in her chest and throat, golden eyes glowing with the intensity of her focus.

When she entered the doorway, her heart froze in her chest.

Corran. Bleeding. In pain. She could feel it, like so many knives into her throat. Chest. Face.

What was numb suddenly snapped back into focus. Into pain. Into fury. Someone hurt him. Someone whose presence crackled in the Force. She gritted her teeth, feeling the power build within, feeling his pain only adding fuel to the fire. But there was a locked door; for a sheer moment, she forgot the code. But then the light beeped. Green. The door slid open, and she stepped through, her rage crackling to the fore.

Sweeping up beside him, she drew her own stun blaster in one hand, blade flung from another, giving the woman no choice but to either dodge the shots aimed down the hallway at her torso and upper legs or the vibroblade slung in her direction, a burst of telekinetic energy lancing it forward. Screw being merciful, this witch hurt him. Yet even as she slung a blade at the witch, the Dark Side seethed within, aching for a focus point to unleash itself. The blade itself was slung with enough force that, were its' intended object missed, would embed almost completely in the duracrete.

And she found it with the Sith trying to become one with the wall. In the helmet, her eyes burned a baleful, hard gold. She would see this one pinned like a bug for daring to try. And if she were injured, she wouldn't even notice, so focused was the point of her rage.

This was no longer a time for mercy.

To his credit, Corran still kept fighting. But the pain of it sang through her in waves, and she visibly shuddered in a last-ditch effort of self-control. It was so tenuous that, if there was one more push, she would snap and make this woman burn.

The shot did not, as Bast had hoped it would, collide squarely with the Sith and bring all surrounding personnel out of danger. Instead, the woman watched as the bolt was deflected easily by the crimson lightsaber and sent directly at the man she had been trying to protect. Out of some strange mercy, or, more likely, the fact that she did not pose a threat, the Sith did not turn and attack the prone woman, affording her a chance to rise.

Faster than eyes could track, the hostile was gone, but there was little doubt as to where she was headed. The sounds of blaster fire were becoming frequent and erratic. Corran was holding his ground and losing. Limping, breathing heavily, the female Ranger hurtled around the corner, blaster outstretched and firing carefully to as not to accidentally hit her comrade. The force user deflected every shot with ease, a smirk growing on her wretched face. The dark side acolyte could smell her fear. Chasing the woman was a fruitless effort.

Something cutting through the air caught her eye. Corran must have seen it to, as he ducked with almost superhuman speed. He was still not fast enough. A gash opened on the pale face, the deep red in stark contrast to the blue eyes and blond hair. The Corellian woman snarled in fury, her pace now a sprint, heedless of the pain. The to closer she grew, the worse her partner seemed to be faring. His grimace elicited a pang on pain and anger in her own chest. Out of nowhere, a small foxlike woman fell and began shooting. Starting a bit from surprise, Bast gave her a once over. Not a Sith. She could move on. She had to move on.

The atmosphere hummed with electricity, blaster bolts firing from three angles, pinning in the the force user even as she drew close to finishing one of their own. Streaks of light formed a horizontal torrent of enough energy to power a small ship. Bast’s ears rang, and under it all, was the low buzz of the lightsaber. A sudden scream echoed. The pain and anger and fear behind it would have been enough to tear her open. Corran.

No longer trying to defend herself, Bast rushed to his side. Her heart was beating hard enough that it echoed in every part of her body. She swallowed hard. Is this how he had felt finding her in the holding cell? But she had seen it happen. She was there. She could have stopped it. Corran was still fighting, but he was fading fast. The normally calm demeanor the woman wore vanished, replaced by a heaving chest and shaking hands. Gently she placed her hand on his back to steady him, catch his fall. The area around the cut was a nasty, inflamed red. The man looked a click away from death. Hazel eyes watered slightly in shock and fear. She was helpless. “Corran- hey. Stay with me.” She did not set down her blaster, but the Ranger focused all her attention on her fallen partner. There was no option in her mind but to bring him out alive. She wasn’t going to lose more men.

The fact that someone else is out there is a relief but, from the sound of it, the knight has not yet figured out that she had a stowaway, meaning the two could end up stranded on the planet. At the same time. it had just occurred to her that she could try to contact her master with her comlink, but a quick fumble around her pockets found no such device. She looked up as the fellow padawan suggested they pay attention to the ghost and quietly agreed.

The ghost responded to them in a way that clearly indicated that she was not a vision. Altina stared at the corporeal figure for a few moments, simply processing it all. This is nothing like what she understood of the Force, or even remotely close to anything that she had read about in the studies that Master Eridan had her follow.

"You say that as though speaking to ghostly figures is a common occurrence on this world," Altina countered the spat against her. "How am I to know when the planet itself looks devoid of civilization?"

Altina gave the ghostly being a distrustful look. She was almost certain that this is who attracted the two of them here. The real question is why. Without anything to go on, she felt like she had no choice but to play along with whatever this ghost is planning. She turned her gaze to try to get an idea of what her companion was thinking but, knowing near to nothing about him, there was not much to glean.

Hovels at the base of a temple.

The Sith had agreed not to shank them and he accepted that with some hesitancy but he had still climbed up. Upon arriving, he noticed the Mandalorian he vaguely recognized from his misadventure on the home planet of the Mandos. Of course it was hard to recognize Mandalorians aside from their armour and some of them were not so creative when it came to armour designs and colouring.

Still, the hovels and the temple just made for a really scary atmosphere but it was Dathomir. It was expected that the place be both terrifying and constantly trying to kill them.

He eyed the chains around the door for a moment.

"Mando!"
he called out to Roland, "Any sign of anyone alive around here? Anyone who could have caused this call?"

He had gotten here first after all.

Max poked at the door to one of the hovels and checked inside for a moment before emerging with a frown and walking toward the door to the Temple. He eyed it suspiciously for a few moments before nodding to Indy.

"I'm going to try and pull on the chains with the Force - watch my back."

Reaching out with the Force with both hands, Max would attempt to pull the chains on either side of the doors to open the doors. He planted himself both physically and metaphorically as he immersed himself in the Light to both accomplice the feat and to protect him against the aura of the Dark Side that ran through the area.

Didn't want to throw his back after all.

Of course Lorcan should have known - Sith and droids were sore karking losers.

Thankfully self-destruct sequences and thermal detonators were not instantly activated like some of those 'realistic' holovids would have you believe. At the end of the day they were devices that were designed to be used as grenades so there was a delay... enough of a delay for him to take note of how the IG unit stopped trying to firing upon him and instead simply stood incredibly still.

His training in the Rangers taught him that a war droid standing still was a sure sign that it was about to do something very explosion-related so he immediately retreated to his previous plan; jump down the karking stairs to gain some distance.

He was travelling through the air when the explosion actually happened and it's shockwave accelerated him. Cursing loudly, he covered his head with his arms instinctively to better support his neck as he slammed violently into the wall further down the stairwell. The plaster of the wall cracked and dented in a vague imprint of his body as his armour absorbed most of the damage - most being the best he could have hoped for of course.

His ears ringing, Lorcan coughed and very nearly screamed in pain as his ribs protested the movement of his lungs violently. It didn't appear that he had punctured his lungs (or any other organs for that matter) but he could feel at least four of his ribs were in a bad way. Broken or badly bruised, he couldn't say and would refuse to say without a very good medical scan.

Hissing in pain, he pulled himself into a sitting position and began to reload his pistol. As he did so he touched his helmet to activate his com link.

"Doc I see your pasty white arse up on the second floor with me?"
he broadcast over the number he had for her, "What's the damage where you are? That Jedi kid make it?"

Elara heard several explosions and continuous blaster fire from the floors above as well as below. Before she could react, she hears a yell of agonising pain. She shivers, takes a breath and then she rushes towards the basement, her weapon gripped so tightly it almost hurt her hand. She wanted to help, even though she was probably in no position to…

She didn't even have time to verify whether her new partner was behind her. She simply blurted out to her "They need help!!" Before she moved more than a few steps , however, a figure descended the stairs, so fast that Elara didn't think it was humanly possible. It made her stumble and pause for a moment. A jedi? Thank the stars. She reached the corridor where the scream originated from, and her heart rose to her throat at the scene. A man that looked like seriously injured, probably who yelled, was leaning on a sword and shooting the assailant. The assumed Jedi in front of her was already attacking the Sithat the end of the corridor as well.. She was not prepared for this...but she refuses to be useless.. Almost without realizing she was doing it, Elara presses herself against one side of the wall and begins shooting thre erounds of blaster at the figure at the end of the corridor. Despite her lack of combat experience, her training would have given her enough practice as to not hit the jedi, although the shots would be relatively close. Hopefully she won't be mad about that. She wasn't expecting to hit much, but Elara hoped it will give the Jedi enough time to get close. She then moves closer to the injured man and the woman

"Ranger Salis, here to assist…Found a doctor outside.."

Only then does she turn her head to see if her new partner followed.

Trini wasn't sure how she managed to dodge the incoming saber strike, the preternatural reflexes of a being who could hear the will of the Force - even if she was not yet trained to consciously listen - guiding her to twist away from the crimson blade. Even with this insight, the little Amaran squealed in pain as the edge of the blade cut a burning furrow along her cheek, scorched fur and cauterized flesh adding their own particular aromas to the miasma of death and destruction that already permeated the headquarters of the Sector Rangers.

The archaeologist tumbled from the overhead vent, unaware of the Arkanian who had burst onto the scene as she came down on the Sith from above. It had been a long, long time since her kind had hunted in the deserts and forests of their home-world, but certain instincts still held strong. Pain, adrenaline, and the instincts of a small but fearsome predator guided her. Claws, short but sharp, and teeth, small but equally so, were instinctively brought to bear...

The impressions Hannibal was getting through the Force weren't particularly clear, but the emotions buried in them were definitely interesting. He didn't like what they implied even in the slightest. He was snapped out of his reading by a hologram popping up from the console near him, his eyes turning toward it. The words it spoke brought a slight frown to the young Jedi's face. This was evidence of the strange song's effects. Perhaps it could influence even those who didn't otherwise have a particular sensitivity to the Force? That was extra not good if it was true.

Hannibal's new companion, meanwhile, seemed rather plucky. He couldn't help but grin at the her insistence that Hannibal couldn't get rid of her easily. A good response, though perhaps not one made with forewarning as to how Sith tended to operate. Hannibal himself was eager to join his friends and confront the Sith, but he wasn't going to abandon his new friend in the process.

"Most impressive! Fair enough, then. Just do me a favour, yeah? Stay behind me if you see red blades." He turned away from the console, having seen what he came to see. Perhaps the ship could be further investigated later, but the source of the call seemed to be further up on a hill or something somewhere. So that was where he needed to go next. Last time he'd left friends alone with Sith, one had died and the other had been blown up and set on fire. There would not be a repeat of that.

"Oh and, uh. I suggest keeping your weapon on a stun setting if it has one," he advised, moving to leave the derelict and make his way toward the cliffs atop which the others had gathered. He'd wait for Helen before moving off, of course, as well as making sure whatever dark presence was floating around the place wasn't trying to make its way into Helen's head. He was trained and experienced, but he had a feeling the little Lepi might be more susceptible to spooky ghosty stuff.

Felix's eyes widened in surprise and little a bit of panic when the ghost asked him further about Indi, he hadn't really expected to be pushed on the subject though it seemed the ghost didn't know that they were jedi or at least didn't know what jedi are.

"Ummm I don't think she would be hostile" he honestly didn't know enough about her to say anything about her character accurately.

Felix nodded in agreement with the other padawan, this was the first time he had encounter any sort of ghost he heard of the ghost of jedi but he was pretty sure this woman wasn't a jedi. "yeah, I haven't met a ghost before and we don't even know your name."

His gut was telling not to trust the ghost but he had it made this far and perhaps they might figure out what this ghost wants.

It seemed Roland landed ahead of them. Her heart stuttered in her chest slightly, and she couldn't help the broad smile that touched her lips at seeing a good friend there, along with Max. She had no doubt the Sith wouldn't be far behind; and though they seemed to agree to a treaty so far, she wouldn't go so far as to trust them.

So hearing Max, she nodded once, then eyed the door.
"Perhaps it might be wise to not open it alone..." she counseled, but he was already putting his back into it, so to speak.

She sighed, and stood guard with her lightsaber still deactivated, but prepared for the slightest hint of any danger.

I have a bad feeling about this...

Maeve continued up with the Jedi, eventually reaching the top to observe the weathered temple ahead of them and the Mandalorian that stood at the entrance. The Sith let out an annoyed sighed, this was certainly a party that she was not interested in attending, she dreaded what could eventually come of this: two jedi, two sith and a mandalorian walk into a spooky temple...

Her senses reached outward, looking for anything that would be even more anomalous than the two lightsiders and their new mandalorian companion who the Jedi seemed not to mind. Behind her mask, she pursed her lips together following behind the Jedi as they cautiously examined the dwellings before reaching the doors of the temple. It did not seem as though anyone had lived in them for ages, however, knowing the Force, and knowing how the dark side plays its games, the paranoia that something could be there was strong.

The older Jedi called out the Mandalorian looking for his input and Maeve remained silent as he then started to work the chains of the gate.

"Careful Jedi, perhaps what is calling us wants us to open those doors." she said watching, listening, her senses twisted into the dark side of the Force, searching for the familiarness of maliciousness behind the gates.

The ghostly woman continued to look at the pair with a slightly amused expression on her face. She didn't seem disturbed by their skepticism, however. In fact, she would have been disappointed had they immediately trusted her.

I am the forgotten protector of this place, she said. It wasn't quite a name, but what was a name, after all? A title told much more about a person than a simple name.

Come, she said, turning and walking further down the cave. If the pair followed, they would walk quite a distance before arriving at a small room with a trio of people. A table and some chairs were in the center and the people looked up in surprise. Their clothes were simple, but comfortable and clean. It was clear that they didn't live in shambles or squallor.

Oh, hello. We didn't realize the protector was bringing guests. Please, have a seat, they said, motioning to the chairs, and now they would see that the ghostly woman was no longer in the room with them.

---

She made her next appearance just outside the gates where the others were gathered. She watched one of them attempt to brute force the chains into place rather than use the mechanism on the door. He would find the strain of forcing the chains immense as they slowly crept up inch by inch.

You may find it easier if you use the wheels, she pointed out motioning to the wall mounted mechanisms. Her sudden appearance and voice likely causing them to jump in surprise at the ghostly person who had not been there moments before.

Her eyes swept quickly over those gathered in front of her and her head cocked to the side in curiosity.

You all don't seem philosophically compatible, she pointed out, looking at Sith, Jedi, and Mandalorians working side by side. All three had history of conflict with one another.

Why work together? she asked them.

---

The advance of Hannibal and Helen through the forest would go forward unimpeded. Though the mist would be surrounding them the signs of the creatures that had plagued the early wanderers were gone. They had all found shelter from the storm, and now there would be nothing to stop their advance.

In fact, their trip would go shockingly smoothly for the moment. They would find what looked to be a path up the mountain when they reached its base and would be faced with the question of ascending it or finding their own path if they chose to advance.

Dathomir

Max paused in his effort, looking back at the Sith for a moment before turning to face the ghostly woman who had appeared. He could continue to do what he was doing but he was old enough and wise enough that if two women in your life told you to do something it was probably a wise course of action... though the fact that one of them was a Sith and the other was a literal evil ghost?

"... Maybe that's what you want me to do?"

Yeah it felt like a weak excuse even in the safety of his own mind but he still glared at the ghost woman for a moment before rolling his eyes.

"Someone else can jump to do what the ghostly apparition wants us to do."
he argued even as he released the chains and mentally shook himself a little bit, "Our different philosophies didn't seem to make a difference to the Call so why should we care when we answer it? If it wants to do us harm regardless of our stance on the Force well... then I'll stand shoulder to shoulder with anyone who stands against it."

He shrugged.

"I'm pragmatic."

Nar Shaddaa (Background music)

Nar Shaddaa was currently what many would call a living hell, strange undead monsters invading the streets and eating everyone they could reach, many were dying and then coming back, it was a very bad time for most people involved, of course, most people weren't Jerex Dorn, who was very happy to see such an scene unfold, not only because of the chaos and death that he believed in so much, but because he was a doctor at heart, and seeing the effects of such a strange virus in a densely populated area was an unique learning experience.

Jerex was at first just relaxing inside the basement of his small apartment in the planet, performing a vivisection on a Gamorrean who tried to mug him on the way home in order to learn better about their anatomy when suddenly he started hearing a lot of screams that weren't being produced by his actions, so he went to investigate and found out about the current situation on the planet, quickly figuring out that it was the DNE-2 virus he heard so much about, and of course, he had to study it.

So, a couple of hours later and Jerex is on top of a random attic, the door to the place locked and blocked by some random furniture he got up with the force, wearing his knight of Ren attire (Not something he usually wore during research but this was out in the open so it was safer) and sitting on the edge of the building, his feet dangling in the air as he wrote some notes while looking at the chaos unfolding on the streets.

"So, the subjects appear to have some semblance of coordination, making hunting groups and using numbers to their advantage, if this is because they have even a shred of intelligence or just because there's so many of them some are bound to spot the same victim at the same time I don't know yet" Jerex said as he was also holding a camera and recording all of it for later studies, focusing on a man who was about to become zombie food "They also seem to not eat much brain despite popular belief, going for the stomach and similar, softer spots, which makes sense because a skull is hard to pierce with your teeth, I always thought that was a stupid cliche, but I can't say you and your friends aren't interesting!" Jerex turned his head around, looking at his research partner, one of the infected, lacking any limbs because of lightsaber cuts, currently being gagged and inmovilized inside a shopping cart "I wonder how you would react if I got you cybernetic limbs, would you be able to use them if they were slightly different? Would you adapt your attacks if I gave you a sword arm? We'll figure it out soon!" The mad doctor asked to a creature that wouldn't talk back even if it was not gagged, giggling in a sinister way to himself as he went back to researching.

Elikar's plan sort of worked, well someone else's plan worked and Elikar sort of benefited from it. Two heavy blaster shots pierced the droid not fully destroying it but setting off its self destruct system. Elikar heard the announcement and beeping so instead of continuing on toward the Sith dove down the corridor the two blaster shots came from.

The various blasts hit Elikar while he was fully in the corridor but before he had landed. The shock wave slammed him hard into the wall dislocating his left shoulder. Elikar hit the floor hard, landing near the man who had fired the shots (@Nefieslab ). Elikar got himself into a seated position and took stock of his injuries, using the Force to shunt away the pain as best he could. His left shoulder was dislocated and although he could move it, any movement sent pain throughout his entire upper body. His nose was oozing blood from the small capillaries that burst from the shock wave. Elikar could see small pieces of shrapnel sticking out of his boots and pants; definitely embedded in his legs. Serious, but not life threatening and he was sure he could walk.

"Wait that lady's a doctor?" Elikar asked of the woman who had just bolted down the stairs. "Where the kriff is she going. I going to live but not sure about anyone else back there." Elikar remarked gesturing out into the room he just flown in from. "Any chance you had a medpac on you? Could also use some help with this shoulder." Elikar asked as tested his shoulder again. Hopefully it wouldn't be too difficult to get back in place. Elikar had retrieved his lightsaber which had landed near by and was ready to defend himself if needs be. Although how successful he'd be who depend on what came at him.
