Ruus'all Solus never wanted to meet his family.

His father was probably a gambler or something stupid and his mother was probably a whore or something just as stupid. They abandoned Ruus and left him to die- which he probably would've if Clan Solus hadn't found his little toddler ass running up and down the streets of Correlia. Ruus was grateful that Mandalorians had found him instead of slavers or pirates- or both, for that matter.

For most of the Mando's life, Ruus'all disregarded his parents because it was easier to try and forget them than to wonder about his heritage. Sometimes, when Ruus was in a bad mood, his leaders would tell him to imagine himself as some sort of bastard prince that was going to take back the corrupt throne or whatever... It worked for 7-year-old Ruus who loved playing-pretend and reenacting epic battles throughout history, but now as a 22-year-old Jedi Knight Mandalorian, it began to become harder to find ways to shrug off the looming thought of who his parents really were and why the chose to give him up.

Deep down, Ruus'all Solus always wanted to meet his family. Maybe he had siblings out there he would never know. Maybe his parents had to hide Ruus from a terrible threat of some sort and had actually saved his life!

Or maybe...it was just better not to know.

---

Corellia was Ruus'all's birthplace but not his home world. Mandalore would always be where his heart was happiest, even now as a Jedi Knight.

The Mando-Jedi was here to meet with another well-respected member of the Order, Vayla Mirana, who Ruus was expecting to be some old geezer who was alive when the first star system in the galaxy was created. The Council had thought it would be important, especially now for some reason, that Ruus'all discovered his true roots. To the Mandalorian's dismay, he was sent back to his birth planet to retrace his mother's steps.

Ruus'all took a seat inside a small cantina and awaited the arrival of this other Jedi so he could get this assignment over and done with. The Force tugged the back of the Mando's mind, however, giving him the feintest feeling of familiarity and peace. It was as if the universe was telling Ruus something in a language he was never taught.

Hopefully he'd be able to cypher it.

All Vayla wanted to do sometimes was unwind just like everyone else. Foregoing meditation in her robes, the Jedi Knight came to the cantina in a tan leather jacket and blue jeans, thinking a casual approach was appropriate. She could certainly use a drink.

She was just as much here on business. Knight Ruus’all Solus needed some help tracking down his parents. As close as Vayla was to her own it was difficult to truly feel what it must be like to not even know them, even with the Force.

Bringing some peace to someone in need, a fellow Jedi to boot, was just the break that she was looking for. The Knight was calm as she navigated the floor of bustling patrons, some ogling at the Pantoran passing by, and found a table with a familiar face above it.

Vayla had never actually met Ruus’all Solus until now but the face fit the profile. She was sure that was mutual. “Vayla Mirana,” she affirmed. “May I?” She didn’t expect him to refuse but would wait anyway.

Taking a seat, she ordered a gin and smiled at her companion. “How may I be of service?”

Ruus returned the friendly smile, but didn't order any drinks. He had the feeling that getting a buzz was the last thing he needed to do right now. The Mando was glad Vayla had actually decided to tag along. Russel Monti would've tagged along, too, if he wasn't busy doing weird secretive stuff that he wouldn't tell his apprentice. The guy was getting old though, so Ruus'all though that eventually the guy would open up.

There might have been a little luck with who his partner was. She was a renowned warrior and also pretty damn hot, and if Ruus'all got a little luckier then maybe he could light a spark between the two.

Maybe...

"Ruus'all Solus." Ruus gave a small solute to the fellow Jedi. "I'm looking for my mom. I...really don't know why the Council thought it was important, but thanks for tagging along anyway." The Mando explained. "You sure got pretty eyes, Mirana. Maybe they'll be able to spot this lucky fella." Ruus'all slid a datapad over to face Vayla. It had the picture of a pyke with three breathing tubes that stretched from his face and winded over his shoulders to connect to a filter on his back.

"His name is Dul. Apparently...he, uh, well he's a pyke. He's a big spice seller and potential human trafficker- I really hoped he hadn't got any business with my mother, but..." He grimaced, feeling sick and disgusted with the figure on the datapad. He didn't want to kill the guy, just lock him up and let the prison thugs deal with him on Coruscant. That prison had the third highest mortality rate in the galaxy, anyway.

"We find him, we shut his operation down, and then we interrogate him. Simple, right?" Ruus'all managed a sheepish smile as stared back into her brilliant eyes. He could get lost in them all day long...

Vayla sipped her gin slowly as she listened to the man before her speak. Knight Solus could not yet see the importance of discovering the father who seeded him and the mother who birthed him, or he was dismissing it, but all of that would be revealed in due time. There was another matter to address first and his name was Dul.

The Pyke sounded more typical than he looked, those breathing tubes etched into Vayla’s memory. Meanwhile, those pretty eyes of hers, or whatever they were, returned to Ruus’all above a smile that might also glow, though it wouldn’t be certain as to whether that was promising or damning.

“As simple as plugging a pair of prosthetic eyes into two black holes for sockets, I’m sure.”

With a wink, Vayla cradled her drink and swallowed floral pine in the form of liquid. It didn’t take a hand-wave through the air to see that the man was looking at the woman. Knight Solus had eyes that would shift in the light and, though pretty, they were no less shifty.

“Even if things go sideways, as they so often do, we’ll still shut this Pyke down in judgment of being a spicer and a slaver. Then we’ll find your mother. That’s what Jedi do.” There was no smile now but Vayla was no less sincere.

“Do we have a local lead on this Dul?” She looked left, looked right. “Or is this cantina the lead?”

Ruus gave a short nod and placed his helmet on before standing up in their booth to stretch. "I got that picture while he was here in the cantina. He had his buddies with him, so I didn't want to make a scene in case bystanders got hurt. Instead, I bought him a few drinks and slid a pill sized tracking beacon into on his glasses. All we have to do is follow the signal and raid his charade." Ruus explained, rolling his shoulders to finish his brief stretch.

He wanted this Pyke behind bars more than anything right now- not just because of the fact that he had something to do with his mom in his despicable line of work, but because of what that work actually was. Human Trafficking was the galaxies largest growing crime industry, and though everyone expresses their disdain for it, the only people actually taking care of the problem was Ruus'all's own Clan.

It was about damn time he took up the mantle, too.

"Let's get going. I have a few quips planned that I've been dying to use." Ruus'all chuckled, heading out of the cantina.

The vehicle that guided the two Jedi Knights throughout Corellia was quite unlike the Force guiding two Jedi Knights throughout a temple.

The music was…interesting…and while Vayla could not deny how contagious its upbeat signals were to her very own brain, well, it wasn’t terribly fitting toward the mood of finding one’s mother.

There they were, a man and a woman, partnering up to take on a Pyke named Dul, shut down his trafficking ring and more, and, moreso, find that mother of Ruus’all Solus.

“Were I gambling gal, I’d wager our quarry is on his way if not already at a transport compound of some sort.”

Of course, Dul could just as easily be going to a nightclub or to the barber. No…definitely not that last one. “Corellia is Corellia, they say, and trafficking of this sort could be at warehouse or who—”

Vayla tasted bile in her throat. “...Some establishment more in tune with his line of work.” Someone turn this music off already or I shall chug a bottle of gin.

Ruus'all wasn't like the weird music at all. So, he pressed a button on the underside of his Beskar gauntlet that cut the music off abruptly and replaced it with a more appropriate song. The same music began playing from a pair of HD-speakers attached to both sides of Ruus'all's utility belt.

"Much better..." Ruus muttered as the driver began complaining about messing with the music, but eventually stopped after he realized Ruus and Vayla weren't even paying attention.

"I think you're right...the beacon is coming from the docks." Ruus'all said as he checked his datapad for the signal, making sure it staid connected. "Vayla, thanks for coming with me. I know I already told you this...but this really does mean a lot to me." He said to her seriously, before chuckling. "Wht do you think my mother is going to end up looking like? A Sephi? I mean, I've got no pointy ears or nothing, but maybe she's a Half-Sephi like this one kid I know. What if she's a Morellian! Or an Echani- that would be cool." Ruus'all had a very good picture of what her mother currently looked like, hooked up to drugs to keep her from running away, smelling of all manor of sickness and affliction.

This was Ruus'all's way of coping. It was easier to make jokes and keep stuff simple because sometimes life kicked you in the ass and there was nothing you could do about it besides looking at the now empty once half-full glass and see opportunity and hope for it to fill up halfway once again.

"I bet she's just as beautiful as the way I bragged about her to the other Foundlings when I was younger, heheh."

Well, most certainly, the shift in music was much, much more appropriate for the situation at hand. Vayla, her empathetic self, could not help but sit back with a sad smile slowly sliding over her face.

As the driver complained, the Pantoran wondered after her own mother. What would I do…if I didn’t know her? If I didn’t know she was at the Mirana Farms back on Pantora..?

The musings were interrupted by Ruus’all Solus, and if anyone had the right to interrupt her right now it was this man sitting beside her. “It is my pleasure and priv—” she began before he interrupted her with that chuckle of his.

Confused, Vayla felt her eyelids narrow; she would have to adapt to those mannerisms of Ruus’all. Sephis and Echanis and all of these in between, the Knight pushed hair behind her ear and looked out the window to a world whizzing by. Mother…what are you doing right now?

“Here is what I know, Ruus’all Solus.” He might have to get used to her customary first-and-last-name basis as well. For now, he would have to get used to her prosthetic eyes as they gazed into his own.

“Your mother, whatever her name, whatever her race, whatever her history…is your mother. Your one and only. She birthed you, you came out of her womb to sit beside me right here, right now…”

The song's lyrics were catching up to her now. This is getting more sentimental than I anticipated. “The lines on your face? She put those there. So, when you see her, it will be like looking in a mirror.”

Vayla smiled, half of her having no idea why. “What I mean to say is...you’re a Jedi Knight. Your mother will be no less beautiful.”

Vayla was awesome. Man was Ruus'all glad he wasn't stuck with some grouchy old guy that would rather be back home right now- not that Ruus'all didn't want to be home right now, but hopefully you get the point.

Now, as the vehicle stopped and the doors opened, Ruus checked to see that his signal was still up and running. They were at the docks where the tracker was blinking on and off on Ruus'all's datapad. They were close, so all they needed to do was be silent and trust in the Force.

"Hey, let's get on top of those crates. High ground n' stuff. Might be easier than going through the maze of giant shipping containers, right?" Ruus spoke as he gazed at the terrain he was going to traverse. A huge frigate was currently loading and unloading above them, which meant that if the Mando's hunch was right, Dul would be doing business here. They needed to be fast if they were going to stop Dul from making whatever exchange he was up to.

Taking initiative, the Jedi ran off and lept into the air, gracefully landing on top of a shipping container. Who needed jetpacks when you had the Force? Making their way to Dul would be easy- but the fight Ruus felt coming was not going to be as fun.

Knight Solus’ intelligence had earned him a wink from his fellow knight. High ground was generally the best place to be in a place like this and such a notion would prove itself. The guards were on ground level as it was, likely not intelligent enough to look up. Whomever expects a pair of Jedi Knights to be sneaking across crates?

Following closely behind, Vayla leapt no less gracefully, the Force aiding her movements as much as concealing their sound. The docks were open space, open sesame, and truly they were guarded indeed.

Whatever Dul’s resources or status in life, he had enough to employ enough guards to patrol the obvious areas of the docks. Though, they’re not all his. One half was dressed differently enough from the other, each section standing at a safe distance, indicating that there were two parties engaging in business. Docks. Dirty business. Go figure, eh, Vay?

“I think…” Vayla whispered, narrowing her eyes to peer across the area at the same time as sensing with the Force. “I think that might be our Dul.”

Ruus’all had previously japed that his partner’s pretty eyes might be enough to spot their quarry. Perhaps he was right.

If only Vayla could see the smile on the Mando-Jedi's face following her little wink. She was quite the companion to be tagging along on such an interesting venture. The one major problem with this mission was the fact that there wasn't the big of a way to find his mother. Ruus'all was the name he was given by the Mandalorians so his name wouldn't work on Dul and he was a grown man now, so his own mother wouldn't be able to recognize him any longer. The only thing Ruus'all had was a name; Sybil.

After perching above a Dul and a couple others who seemed to be making a deal, Ruus'all began contemplating their options. Obviously, they needed Dul alive, so the others could either comply or die if that's what it came down to (and Ruus'all was thinking it was going to come down to that). Then, they'd needed to check the Pyke for any records pertaining to the slaves he was trafficking before turning him in to the authorities.

"Alright, so this is how this going to run," Ruus began. "I'll take care of the thugs while you grab Dul. We'll make it quick and silent so we don't arouse everyone else. Then, we'll interrogate the Pyke before turning him in." And then without saying anything, Ruus'all dropped down into the group of conversing criminals, all of which weren't expecting a thing.

"Hello there!" Ruus'all exclaimed, getting the full attention of everyone who turned to see who was intruding on this apparently secret deal.

"It's a Mandalorian!" Shouted someone, which caused the rest of the group to draw blasters on the Jedi who was now stretching before the inevitable fight. "Indeed I am- Clan Solus, to be exact." Ruus said with a little chuckle- if any of these criminals had a brain, they'd know how badly Clan Solus beat the Zygerrians because of their ongoing slave trade. If these guys were smart, they'd lay down their weapons and-

A blaster bolt flew through the air, but Ruus'all moved his beskar gauntlets in front of the bolt which deflected the shot off, accidentally into another slaver.

"This is one hell of a Mexican Standoff." Ruus'all reached one hand for his WESTAR-35 and his other for his Electro Whip, awaiting for someone else to make a big mistake.

While Ruus’all dropped to the ground, his partner remained up high, undetected. Vayla peered over the edge of the crate while everyone was focused on the Mandalorian. She spotted the blaster firing away and recognized the figure behind the shooter.

“Dul’s making a break for it,” the Knight confirmed over her earpiece. “I’ve got him. Keep this lot off my tail, please.”

Time to become one of them. Sneaking through shadows, the Jedi went from crate to container, snaking through the docks a few feet behind and above her target. Dul was clearly heading for his ship. Taking no chances. But he senses the wrong predator.

He was not alone. A few guards flanked the Pyke, so Vayla curled the wind between her fingers and two guards flew backward against a crate. The other guard pointed her blaster over here and over there. Over here.

Vayla leapt to the other side, more blur and less shape, as the guard blasted bolts toward the sky. Over there. Then the guard flew in the same direction before landing atop a container, but by then Vayla had already landed before a Pyke. “Excuse me.”

Dul jolted backward with a modest yelp, having gazed into those eyes that for some reason Ruus'all Solus found pretty. “I-I have no business with you, woman! Stand aside and let me pass!” His hand went to his holster.

“Knight Solus, I have Dul.” She returned attention to the Pyke, hand on the holster of her lightsaber. Now it is time to end this. “You have business with the Jedi, sir, and will need more than that pistol to— What is amusing?”

Dul’s grin was the last thing Vayla saw before the wall itself. Just then, the container’s door behind her blew open and she went flying into the crate in front of her.

As soon as Vayla gave the word of Dul's capture, the long eerie silent standoff with the surrounding thugs came to an end. One group opened fire just as another did, but instead of drawing his lightsaber to block the attacks, Ruus jumped into the air allowing for the thugs to take the blaster fire for him. Then, Ruus grabbed his lightsaber and activated it to block the bolts coming at him mid air.

When his feet finally touched the ground, Ruus'all closed his eyes behind his T-visor and forcefully outstretched a free hand, sending a volley of flames into the batch of thugs blocking his way to meet with Vayla. Most of the thugs ran off screaming, while the smart ones jumped into the nearby water to get the quench their flames. All the while, Ruus'all laughed at the chaos he caused and wished he had been able to take a video to show his apprentices back on Yavin.

However, there was still the other half of criminals awaiting for Ruus'all's punishment and they fired away at the Mando-Jedi who sped off in the direction of Vayla with a solid group of cronies chasing behind him. After Ruus had a good enough gap between himself and the criminals, he deactivated his lightsaber and holstered it, using both hands to topple over a wall of shipping containers to block the way for Ruus'all to buy him some more time.

The Mando turned to see Vayla on the ground, and then Dul running away from an opened crate. Without hesitating, Ruus'all ran to Vayla's aid, picking her up to her feet.
"You alright? Can you walk? How many Mandalorians do you see?" By this time, the music had changed.

By the stars, that little tumble had nearly knocked Vayla’s out. She rose while rubbing her eyes. “Yes, I…I think…I’m fine…” Blinking herself out of a daze, vision began to return. She saw Ruus’all. “Just one, unless you have a twin? Kidding.” Felt the crate against her back.

“Hurry, we can still get—” She had to squint at first, make sure she wasn’t hallucinating, but the Force had not fibbed. There, emerging behind Ruus'all and from the container blown open, was a fully grown nexu.

“Don’t let Dul escape! GO!At that, Vayla shoved the Jedi-Mando out of the way just as the beast pounced. It soared toward her lashing with its claws, and just one scratch would turn the woman’s face into barely recognizable pulp.

Dismissing such a notion, the Knight ignited her saber and slashed while twirling away, taking an arm with her. The nexu screeched, wildly dashing over there and leaping over here, driven mad with pain and loss. You are not alone, creature.

The shadow was, though, and she did not have time to sympathize. She charged, saber held high, free hand firing a Force-wave that sent the nexu flying into a container. The Jedi leapt, the beast recovered, she waved again and smacked its head against the wall.

“Status, Solus?” The shadow tapped her earpiece and hurried to catch up, leaping to the next container. She was suddenly wary of what was inside each one.

It wasn't long before the Mando-Jedi had Dul pinned up against a shipping container. "Caught his ass fair an square, Ma'am." Ruus said into his com before knocking the lights out of the Pyke who had something to do with his mother.

---

In an alleyway undisturbed by the public, Dul would soon awaken to find himself bound in a chair with no chance of escape. He had been searched by Ruus and had no tracking beacon, no weapon, not even a single credit.

"So this is how it's gonna go, man." Ruus snapped his finger in front of Dul, abruptly waking him up. "You're gonna tell me what you did with my mother."

"I don't know your mother! I swear!" Muttered the Pyke. "Twenty years ago, you lost me to a pair of Mandalorians. Who did you take me from?" Ruus'all watched as realization slowly seeped into Dul's expression. "Oh...I remember...we didn't lose you, punk! We sold you. Except...those conniving- uh..." Ruus'all laid a hand on the Pyke's shoulder, a warning to carefully think about who he was describing.

"...Uh, oh, uh, Very generous Mandalorians stole my money and a few more children after picking you up. You're...You're mother could be anyone! Unless..." Dul paused for a moment too long. Ruus'all squeezed his hands on the Pyke's shoulder, creating a painful pinching knot.

Dul squealed, "UNLESS, unless, your mom is Her. Y-y-you know? The woman behind the scenes?? My boss?!" Ruus stopped squeezing and knocked Dul backwards, tipping him and the chair he was tied to over on the ground.

"My mom...sold me?" Hissed the Mandalorian dangerously as he picked Dul back up and cut him loose of his bounds. The Pyke looked even more surprised when Ruus gave him back his blaster.

"She's on that frigate, isn't she?" Ruus said nodding his head over to the giant starship still hovering over the docks. "Y-yes- Hey, why did you give me-" Ruus shot the Pyke dead where he stood and turned back, walking past Vayla in the direction of the Frigate.

Vayla wasn’t foreign to tying targets up in alleyways for some interrogation. The Jedi’s methods could be effective, if not torturous; they weren’t Sith and neither was she.

She simply stood by, arms crossed and guarding the three souls as much as letting her companion do his thing. Ruus’all was a Jedi but also a Mandalorian, a fancy that some would find a tad too tottery, but there they were.

The shoulder-pinch was shrugged off. It was okay to get a little aggressive sometimes. When the chair fell backward, though, Vayla stepped forward, saying nothing but giving Solus a look. He might not have seen it but might have felt it.

The last thing they needed was a dead Pyke on their hands, murdered in cold blood, but that’s exactly what the Mandalorian had just done. Dul went to sleep, forever, buried with his secrets, among of which was spilled the claim that Ruus’all’s mother was this Pyke’s employer.

That was enough to shake any soul…but enough to kill just like that? Vayla thought no further on it. Letting her surprise subside, she turned and called after her companion.

“Ruus’all Solus!” If he didn’t stop in his tracks he would receive a nudge to through the Force. “Have you forgotten yourself, Knight? Do you intend to butcher your way to your mother?” Mandalorian he may be but he was also Jedi. Which are you more of than the other?

There were no words to describe the swirling emotions and thoughts going through Ruus'all right now. All he could do was make a simple list of things to be angry at- seeming to have forgotten the endless lessons that were once drilled into the Mandalorian before becoming a Jedi.

Number one, his Clan had lied to him. They told him that they had picked him off the streets- not that he was being auctioned off by his own mother. Why would they hide something like that from him?
Number two, his mother was a human-trafficking king pin. All she seemed to care about was money- so much so that she was willing to sell her own child. Was Ruus really that unloved? So unimportant that his own mother didn't seem to want him?
Number three, the Pyke smelled like BO. It really isn't anything as serious as the first two, but still, it sucked.

Something tugged Ruus'all back to his senses, stopping him dead in his tracks. Guilt overwhelmed his senses after hearing his partner rightly scold him for his unorthodox actions. He broke his rules today- and he wasn't sure what to consider himself right now. All the man wanted to do was butcher his way to his mother and then butcher her, too. Ruus'all Solus never got this angry- this was all so new and raw for him- to experience a true and deep felt hatred for someone. Ruus had disliked people before, but never like this. He took off his helmet, holding it at his side to face Vayla with an expression contorted with anger, sadness, and despair.

"...That's exactly what I want to do. I'm... I'm sorry, Vayla... Whatever kind of test this is... I failed." Then, almost as soon as he finished speaking, he swore he heard his master's voice telling him to, "Remember to shoot straight." That day, Ruus had made fun of Russel for acting crazy- they were practicing saber combat, not shooting on a blaster range. But now Ruus'all knew what he meant; Follow Through. No matter what. Ruus made a commitment, such a commitment that could not and would not be broken so easily.

Number one, his Clan lied to him to protect him. Ruus would have definitely ran for his mommy after hearing the truth before he became a sensible human being. He was grateful for Clan Solus and would die for them as much as he would the Jedi Order.
Number two, his mom sucked. He couldn't do anything to change that. So, instead of killing her, he promised to take her into custody- to do the right thing.
Number three....well, Dul still smelled.

"Here," Ruus tossed Vayla his lightsaber. "Don't give it back until I finish this the right way."

Watching that man, Ruus’all Solus, a soul struggling with mother issues more than could be quantified, was like watching herself. Gazing into his eyes was like looking in the mirror.

The Pantoran might not relate to the Mandalorian’s upbringing, her own mother a bright candle in her heart, but she could relate to the shadows. They’ve enveloped me too, Knight. You are not alone in that.

More importantly, however, was how Solus handled it. Now was the moment that mattered; the past, that could and would be addressed, but what Ruus’all did next would determine whether he passed or failed the ultimate test.

Vayla caught her companion’s lightsaber hilt with some surprise, looking from it to his eyes, and her own did not waver. They did not blink, only ever did to make herself seem natural to others, but right now her eyelids were glued backward.

“Solus…”
She sighed, thinking of that dead Pyke behind her. It wasn’t that he was dead—Jedi killed their fair share when they had to and these two had today—but it was how he died. That cold, calculated kill… That shadow that sleeps inside us…

“I will hold onto your sword for as long as you need me to.” Though, she did not clip it to her belt, held it at her side as she calmly stepped forward. “That won’t be long at all, for you will not be doing this alone.”

Reaching out, Vayla placed a hand on Ruus’all’s shoulder, and her composure would not be denied. “We do this together…or not at all.” Those words, she had spoken them to her Padawan, Quin Leonkri, and just like that they returned in this circle of life.

Ruus'all looked gratefully into his companion's eyes before placing his helmet back over his head. "Thank you." Said the Mando-Jedi, his tone not as worried and angry as before. He looked up at the huge frigate still in the sky and his fists stopped clenching, his whole body relaxing as Ruus'all had instructed it to with his controlled breathing. The fate of his mother would not mimic that of the Pyke that still laid lifeless behind him.

"We're coming for you, mom..."

Upon a very stealthy sneak-in, the pair find themselves in a long corridor that would lead to the elevators. From their, they would be able to either leave to the cargo hold or the main bridge- whichever grabbed their attention first. However, splitting up probably wouldn't be the best idea as they're already outnumber 100-2.

"Here's the plan; We sneak into the bridge and find out how many unregistered life forms are on the ship- those would be the poor souls prepared to be sold on the black market. After we find out how many we need to get out of here, we'll send them to the escape pods and have them aim for the docks. You'll call the authorities to make sure they're all retrieved safely and I'll put this ship into the water."

Vayla was pleased to see that Ruus’all Solus had come to his senses, but was no less concerned for the man. It hadn’t taken much for him to lose them in the moment, and that much was understandable, what with his being a Mandalorian and finding out from a Pyke some gnawing truths about his very own mother.

I’ve got my eye on you, Knight. Voicing that thought aloud would have been folly, however, for he well knew it. Vayla had proven as much back in that alley, back in the docks, that really both her pretty prosthetic eyes were on him in more ways than one.

“Sneaking won’t be easy,” she relayed after having already snuck into the corridor, but that was one thing. “That bridge will surely be the most heavily guarded area of the ship.” She knew that her partner’s judgment was still somewhat clouded by his feelings, Force forbid, and despite his newfound composure he was surely no less desperate to find his mother. For better or worse.

His plan with the escape pods, however, was nothing if not sound. The docks had already been cleared out and were a prime place for the prisoners to retreat to. “Knight Solus, it might be best if we sneak to the bridge and overwhelm it. Lock it down from a console. That or we find a less guarded surveillance room of sorts which will surely reveal those unregistered life forms.” Time, though, was of the essence as long as they deliberated in that corridor. “It is your call, my friend.” It is your mother.
