Stepping through the gate, she glanced around the street in front of the detention center. Five long years she spent in that hell-hole. At least in lower Coruscant she had contacts and places to hide. In prison there is no where to hide. Rival gangs are wedged into the same recreation rooms when not confined to their cells. Fights frequently broke out between the ranks. Even in prison they stayed loyal to their gangs.
Closing her eyes, letting her head fall back, she took a deep breath of the polluted air as if it were the purest thing she had smelled in ages.
"Move along," came the voice of the guard behind her just before he nudged her forward with his prod. "No loitering."
Stumbling forward at the guard's nudging, she opened her eyes and turned around to spit at him.
Seeing the anger in her eyes, he simply laughed. "Yeah, you'll be back, toots. We'll see how tough you are then." Turning, he walked away, leaving her alone finally.
Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of some movement. Moray already had his goons on her, she thought as turned her back, letting him think he was a sly one. She knew they'd come to her sooner or later and see if she had spilled the beans. Ignoring it for now, she decided to follow the growl of her stomach. With the few credits given to her by the Republic, she made her way down the street toward one of the delis. Maybe she'd find out what had been happening since her time in jail.
