  • Holy cow, a fellow Bible thumper also in Tennessee! I was wondering if I'd see someone else like me. Well, found ya! :CHappy
Degrees prove nothing mate, you know that as well as I do. Anyone can educate themselves adequately enough to discuss certain topics. Anyone, the difference here being, you know you don't have any proof to support your views, I however am willing to admit my lack of understanding of the universe, without installing a God as being the cause, which ultimately would solve nothing in the first place because it just raises more questions, pointlessly.
No I'm not misunderstanding, because you're still separating them from us, like blacks siting at the back of the bus.
Which again, proves nothing. You've also yet to debunk my proposition that if your parents reversed fairy tales with religious stories during your upbringing, you wouldn't be worshiping Rapunzel would you? So why believe in the talking snake and the idea that women in love with other women shouldn't have the same right as the rest of us?
Riiiight, natures is sooo well organized. Look at all the animals that live in constant fear and agony. Look at the babies with cancer, the people with deformities and the people living in constant poverty. Or the fact that thousands suffers from obesity while millions die of hunger every day.

Spare me your ignorance, anyone who believes in Creationism is a lunatic, by stating that the universe has a creator because of some 'patterns', you have proved absolutely nothing, beyond the fact you don't understand your own viewpoint, because by that logic, who created God?
Simply because logic and our lack of understanding demands the humility and humble nature of the individual. I'm a secular humanist, much like many on this forum are in actual fact. My understanding of science, culture and history is what feeds and fuels my 'beliefs' as it where. Which are that we are simply a bunch of relatively smart primates, using tools for survival and the progression of our understanding. I am of the opinion that religion once provided us with answers, but it was nothing but pseudo-science and pseudo-philosophy. We vote on what our laws are in modern society and yet we recognize the laws of nature that predate these laws.
    Wow. Just wow.

You're really that far gone, aren't you? I honestly thought for a moment that you might actually be trolling, but you really believe all this crap don't you? Did your parents give you no choice or something? Has it not occured to you that the Bible is simply a bunch of pages written on by a bunch of mildly educated men in the desert two thousand years ago?

Did it ever occur to you that if your parents switched the fairy tales they read to you with passages from the Bible, you wouldn't know the difference?

If none of this occurs to you at all, then you're far beyond anyone's hope of making you see reason, which really just puts you on the wrong side of history mate.
    What about this shit:

"Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church." I Corinthians 14:34-35

"If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son ... Then shall his father and his mother ... bring him out unto the elders of his city ... And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die." Deuteronomy 21:18-21

Not to mention all the inherent contradictions that are in the bible. Why choose to ignore certain parts that are deemed 'no longer relevant', but you still believe in ridiculous stuff like denying two men who love one another the right to equal treatment when it comes to marital benefits?
By your own logic, you're acknowledging that society has since moved on from the practices once carried our by humanity, slavery being one extreme example. If this is the case, haven't you just acknowledged that the Bible is becoming increasingly irrelevant? Especially considering the fact that the Bible predates the discoveries of countless things that have now been deemed harmful to both society and the health of those who live in society. It's like you just acknowledged that it's constantly fading in significance.
Right, and the Bible describing how you should discipline your slaves is not endorsement. You're the one afraid to google it lest you find out the truth, I'd wager I know more about an ancient text written by men then you do. But hey, I don't follow it blindly like a ****ing idiot, and yet you have disputed the other points I brought up, about working on the sabbath and wearing clothing made of two different materials.
Well you should, because the Bible advocates it, and also informs you how to deal with their insolence. Your a bloody hypocrite and you seriously need to conduct some self examination before you completely surrender to such blind ignorance simply because of your upbringing.
Do you also believe in slavery? Having some set on fire for wearing clothing made of two different materials? Why do you believe in one thing but not the other? None of your so called beliefs make any kind of logical sense.
Holy son of a mother... sorry for the delay in posting in journey... I've been busy with work and stuffs >_> anywho... I'll get to it now :CHappy
Oh, no! I certainly don't take offense. I don't like posting orders anyway. I mean, I'm good with rounds and stuff, but feel free to post whenever. I'd rather go last anyway, just given my character's natural tendencies and the situation at hand.
and I don't think your post changed anything. It was spot on from my perspective.
    Sorry for the miscommunication!
