Eriadu, a place with so much potential that went horribly wrong. Such was the place I called home these many years. Rugged terrain that could take your breath away bordered only by the dark seas that dotted the planet. Each year the struggle for dominance, the seas crashing upon the shores to erode the land, continued yet it was industry that eventually won.
I sighed as I turned the last card over, revealing the one I had seen oft of late. Change was coming and with it wings of resistance. Picking up the cards, I thought of the recent news that had come in from the merchants traveling the trade routes. Rumors were flying rampant about forces visiting the planets of the outer and mid rim seeking to seize control over them. Merchants never liked new sanctions or rules. It was easy to see why they were so upset.
One by one, picking up my cards, I glanced over my shoulder to look around the cantina, gauging the latest influx of merchants and travellers, curious to see what news they brought with them. Sticking the cards into a pocket of my dress, I moved to the bartender, smiling brightly.
"How about a round of the finest for our newest customers, Fortun."
"As you say, Miss S'gaat," he said, placing the glasses upon the tray with a pitcher of their finest ale and then winking.
Blushing under his wink, I cast my eyes down and picked up the tray, smiling brightly. A few loose tongues always seemed to speak a little more freely. Stepping away from the bar and raising my eyes again, I began to move toward their table.
