I (edit: well and my dad and brother, $2000 is a lot) fired off around $2000 worth of ammunition from assorted assault rifles, pistols and shotguns while on a ranch in Texas a few weeks ago, we even had a Sheriff come out but he didn't want to shoot targets with us.

I meant easy to write that you caught it not catch it in general. I did not say you can just practically flick the guy to the ground or whatever you said in your example. Also it wasn't loaded, I wanted to know if had handled one before because I have not. Bugger, I just wanted to know if someone knew what they were talkign about and not just going off damnable wikipedia.

Whether it is "easy" or "not" ...I see no difference or change in how you originally typed that description from what you're saying now.. But, no worries.

When/if the guy punches with his right hand, twist back towards your left while simultaneously sticking out your right leg across your opponent's feet and wrapping your right hand around your opponent's back with a slap-tug. If it helps, you could try and use your left hand to grip at your opponent's shirt at the chest/shoulder or MAYBE their wrist. If the entire move is fluid, just crank a twist of your body and slam them to the ground. A body is much easier to grab onto, and you'd dodge the punch in the process. The harder the punch and more force behind it, the more likely you can use their own momentum against them.

Course, that's just one way to look at it. The specifics change how you look at it.

Here is my example, to make it easier for you not to have to go back and find my post. What part of the words "slap-tug" and "crank" give the impression to so easily (as you say) "just flick" a person; especially with qualifiers such as "if it helps" and "while simultaneously sticking out your leg" and "if the entire move is fluid", as well as the fact that the entire sequence I explained involves the entire body acting harmoneously and sharply? To say that my explanation is so lightly summed up as a "flick" is kinda insulting, don'tcha think? I'm sure you meant nothing by it, just as you didn't mean to say what you said when you said it before... (sry... that was a bit of sarcasm).

And as for "knowing what they were talking about and not just going off of damnable wikipedia" ...uh, we're talking about shooting bullets at a fictional being, a Jedi Padawan. I'm pretty sure that experience with a gun, as apposed to wiki-ing it, kinda isn't the same when applying it to a fictional being. Right? Which is why it might be just as helpful to know about the gun type in great detail, as it is to have experience with it? Idk, I'm probably drawing this out further than I should, so I'll stop there.

I'm not sure about what he's talking about, but I'm fairly sure martial arts like Aikido can bring an enemy to the ground with less than even a flick. It's about using your enemies momentum to empower your own attack. If they punch hard forward, and you push them a little forward, they've only accounted for so much forward pushing force. You've thrown them off balance, and they'll either fall or stumble. You trip them, and they'll stumble all the way into the floor.

This.

I was also not talking about grappling more grabbing and using quick movements to either offset your opponent, like mentioned above, or make a counter attack. Not holding each other in a clinch or bringing them to the ground.

Also thanks to everybody for helping me :CHappy

It was not. Though I could see how you could be mistaken as my threads are always hijacked by something :(
