Assault on Taanab OOC

I can't post until I know who's actually going to NPC Taanab's local defenses or, failing that, whether or not there will actually be any. I doubt they'll be very crucial overall but I would rather have someone controlling them than not.

Worst case scenario, I'll do it myself and try to make it realistic, but that's an obvious conflict of interests.

Santoro sent me a PM on Saturday asking me to post and ignore any defenses because of the inactivity in this thread.

So consider this a kind of last warning. I don't know if Ru wants to attack me or what, but unless I get a response in this thread tomorrow I'll make a post capturing Taanab for the Hutt Empire.

Yeah I was under the assumption Calist had this one going decent, and that Ru, whom is sitting outside the system AWAY from Tanaab to create a temporary blockade " to hold up any potential back ups, and or be able to sweep in from the flank if needed" were both just in place.


Guys if a battle gets too stalled please PM me directly or at least pass on word of mouth to someone like fuzz butt or sree or someone who can get ahold of me easier >.<

You're the faction leader. We've said several times that we're waiting and we've given large expanses of time for something to be done about it. No one's cheating or cutting corners here; we're just moving forward because there's no point in waiting longer for something to happen.

I'm not in charge of the ground battle as far as I'm aware, but I'm writing the takeover thread for space right now.

well there is the fleets which should be on the outter edge of the system to keep the fighting away from the planet for as long as possible...

I may come in with the starfighters as was intended, just the other pilots seem to be missing and or busy...

Ru jumpped out and around the system to set up shop as a way to " close in" the battle ( aka making it so nobody can get back up or supplies.)

planetside is a joint thing of rep and jedi

and none is taken lightly, this area is more vital to the republic than it is the Hutts so there should be some major efforts *grumpy face

Despite much talk of it there's been no Republic response in this thread and I've told Santoro that, as far as I'm concerned, he can make a post claiming Taanab for the Hutt Empire (I thought he should do it since he's the faction leader, but if anyone would prefer I handle it then I will).

Naturally in the end judgment is rendered by you or another admin but we've been waiting for about a month to see if anyone was going to roleplay Taanab's defenses.

That fleet is positioned near a gas giant ostensibly on the other side of the star system. Their weapons couldn't reach Taanab from that range and even if they could they would be by no means accurate. Since they can't use their hyperdrives at that range unless they want to risk getting sucked into Taanab's local star, it would take them awhile to maneuver over to my fleet for them to engage. Depending on how close they are to the gas giant they'd have to break away from its orbit as well.

so wait.... the group was to meet the hutt fleets before they could approach the planet itself at the further end of the system where they would have come out of hyperspace...

as for the responses Im getting so many mixed messages, and told someone was back, and now apparently not, so I have to work on replacing someone

you can tell I'm less than thrilled to be honest.

on the republic end for now Calist just was to do a very very basic hold the Hutts away from the planet as they made an approach * because letting someone show up just AT the planet is...stupid... to be honest it minimizes the ability to maneuver, and limits the time for those on the ground. hence a major reason I've been making a point to force fights further away form the intended targets ( and even in system is uncomfortably close for my taste )

on the up side I know Ru is sitting out of the system with a secondary blockade to close off the sector until he's recalled so there is that, as said, If it is needed I'll take over more likely as starfighters.

this whole current command issue is getting under my skin too, I can understand the frustration, hence why I basically gave till the first to know exactly whats keeping everyone over all or there will be complete rebuilds and losses of ranks and such it's not fair to anyone to have to be left wondering whats going on because everyone awhol... it's more frustrating when it happens.. and nobody even attempts to let me know until everyone is up in arms.

Im not going to allow them to hold them up, or I will step in and take them myself. Hard considering I had less than ample free time up until ..well basically yesterday" and feel pretty pissed that even after I started shaking the tree last week when I saw the messsage, still nobody responded remotely which again I had been told someone had.. SOOO yeah no.. Im going to be talking with Staff about these.

Bac said the admins won't get involved, that its up to the faction leaders, so I'm assuming that's a no. Hopefully things'll get moving soon. I know there are a lot of Mandos from my faction ready to get into some battles themselves, so the sooner these finish, the better.

I said that I don't intend to have the staff get involved and that I hope the other admins feel the same way. We resolved Ando Prime and, IMO, the staff can't keep being a lifeline. Finish it.

But this shit can't be help up for much longer. My personal, non-enforced opinion, is if the Republic doesn't get there stuff together by the weekend, Hutts should declare victory.
