Anabolic Myohypertrophic Stimulator (AMS) was a top secret super-serum , created by Durr the Hutt to combat the rise of force sensitives, after his son was Killed. Originally intended to be a super-soldier program modeled after old Imperial Death Trooper Projects, though the project would go terribly wrong and a flesh eating virus would occur, with the initial outbreak being discovered on Utapau, by Jedi Order Members: Oren Zapan and Brienna Lanaamer.

Description
The original intention of AMS was to create a fast acting super soldier serum, in line with old Imperial Records detailing the Death Troopers Program. The intended side-effects were meant to expand a soldier's bone-growth and allow for the rapid development of muscles, which would allow soldiers to display great feats of strengths and athleticism. It would make them the perfect soldiers to go toe to toe with Force Sensitives in close combat situations. Though, the side-effects of the serum were much more sinister.

The side effects that did occur were the rapid increase in bodily temperature and the swelling of internal organs, as well as a rapid increase in the nervous system, which seemed to continue after the subject's death, in which they would quickly rise with some brain functionality in stake. Their bodies would be fresh and quick at the start and would slowly deteriorate as their flesh rotted away. From their reanimation they would be hyper aggressive and would crave the flesh of any living organic.

Hutt Doctors quickly labeled this disease as Dorsomedial necrotic Encephalopathy or DNE-2. They were able to conclude that the Virus was highly contagious and could be spread through the consumption of products or water laced with the virus, or by being bitten by an infected member and not treated within a proper amount of time.

History
With the reemergence of Force Users in the galaxy, and the slaying of his son, Durr the Hutt would quickly begin to research ways of fighting back and getting revenge against the Force Users that had killed members of his family. A project for super soldiers would quickly get underway on the lowers levels of an Utapau City, and where the initial outbreak would occur, leaving the citizens of the undercity and the galaxy at large in grave danger.

The initial discovery of the DNE-2 would occur on Utapau, when Oren Zapan and Bri Laanamer would arrive to the planet, with the premise that they would be helping search for a lost boy. They would quickly be approached by a group of Cartel Criminals, unknown to the Jedi, who claimed that the citizens had overdosed on a new strand of spice, and that they needed help in stopping the source. Little, did the two know that this was a test to see the effectiveness against force users, and the Jedi would have to quickly abandoned the mission after being swarmed and Oren lost his hand.

A few months later, Oren would return with fellow Jedi Nashyr Ris and Ash Valentine, where they found that whole under city had been infected by that point, and their investigations would quickly find them at the water treatment plant, where they found that the water had been infected with crates of spice from Kafrane, which covered up the tracks of the testing that the Hutts had been conducting on the people in the under city.

Armed with the knowledge Oren planned on heading to the Asteroid, but would end up being arrested, leaving any chance for a discovery to fall to the wayside. For the two years that the Jedi was in prison, the Hutts would slowly turn to producing the DNE-2 strand, with the intentions on infecting major population centers across the galaxy, with the idea that they would create a cure and leave the galaxy dependent upon them.

With Oren released, he would join Sector Ranger, Trys Aran, on Kafrene as they dug for old leads, and would discover a factory full of the dead as the Hutts attempted to cover their tracks. With sightings appearing on Onderon, it seems more likely than ever that a possible outbreak could occur.

Intent
Originally this was intended as a small one time thread, that I did way back, but after a failed dice roll, it slowly expanded into a larger story. @Sreeya helped expand upon some of the ideas for the disease and @Phoenix provided the names for the serum and the virus. The idea is to provide a cool set of monsters that players can fight or build stories around, and to document a fun ever expanding story that several players have been involved in.

I'll be excited to see this approved. This gives me tons of ideas for future threads and more horror elements.

Oh also remember don't forget to double tap

Just to be clear, there is treatment available for PCs who may contract the virus unwillingly? Can you specify how long a person has to attain treatment before it would be too late?

There is no cure Currently, I know players have expressed wanting to explore that in a story. If you're scratched you're fine. Getting bit would require you to lose that limb, like Oren did. I say as long as you address this in the thread you're fine, until a vaccine is created

Sounds super dangerous. I'll approve this then, but I will be keeping an eye on its applications in threads.

Approved.
