"Such a shame," said the twi'lek, "I hate killing pretty girls. Especially when I have yet to show them my bed."

Corina gave him a look that could have killed a rancor, "Oh you certainly have a way with the ladies," as she spoke that danger sense in the Force kicked in. As if in slow motion she saw the Twi'lek raise his arm and shout. She raised her left hand and sent him crashing into the wall, "Amy, do not be sorry for killing these...people, if you have to. They are scum and slavers. Their hearts are blacker than can be redeemed and if they are trying to kill you then you must defend yourself."

Corina leapt forward as the first few slugs were launched, batting what she could away and attacking the thugs.

A mix of slugs, blaster fire, and twirling blades filled the room. Amaterasu could not reply before the firefight began. The padawan was reluctant to end the life of another being, even if that being has engaged in criminal activities with knowledge of doing so. The majority of the casualties belong to the master, not the learner, by the time the fight ended.

Corina fought furiously, returning fire back to the originators, aiming to disable first, rather than kill, but in practice that is a lot easier said than done. And besides, why does someone beyond redemption deserve to live? Letting them live would let them be able to fight again, and when they're trying to kill you, it is sometimes in the act of self defense. She twisted around, blocking two thugs, but she did not see a wounded Rodian manage to draw a knife and limp behind her.

Amaterasu saw, however. The rodian was beyond her reach, but the ammunition of a slugthrower or the energy of a blaster pistol can do wonders. She deflected a pistol shot, directing it towards the rodian's outstretching hand. It was certainly not something easily done: but Amaterasu is a Jedi - the impossible has become possible.

The deflected shot hit exactly where Amaterasu wanted it: the center of the back of the rodian's hand. The rodian's cry of pain would certainly attract the attention of her master, as Amaterasu let herself feel the battle rage on within the room.

Corina heard the shout behind her and smiled, "Well done, my young apprentice," she turned to the remaining uninjured thugs, "surrender and you will leave unharmed."

A couple of them ran, but the last five stood together and fired on the two Jedi again.

While deflecting with one hand, Amaterasu used her other to yank the weapons out of the grasps of their owners, depositing the firearms beside her onto the hard durasteel floor.

No further words were needed: it was obvious that these thugs are no match for a pair of Jedi.

The thugs scarpered. Corina was very pleased with her apprentice so far.

"Amy, go and retrieve the chip from the console," she said. She herself turned around, looking for any stragglers who wanted to come back. She hoped there were no complicated security locks on the console, there may even be a fail safe mechanism. Then again, if Amy was using the Force, she would sense it.

Amaterasu tapped the console to activate the view screen. She studied the text display and shook her head. "The whole security system has been placed on lock-down. One of those thugs has the master code..."

Then the male twi'lek came to mind. He's the one.

"He's just scarpered, probably to get more thugs, dammit."

She thought, "we have to go after him," she said, "follow me."

She could still feel his imprint in the Force and she ran outside into the assembly lines.

Amaterasu left the terminal and ran after her master, deactivating her lightsaber. The sound of repulsorlift engines could be heard from a distance. Friend or foe? It seemed only time will tell.

The assembley line was in a large room, technicians all over the place. She could see the Twi'lek had actually run across the assembley lines and was on the other side of the room. She raised her hand and launched one of the half built droids at him, smashing him into the wall and knocking him over. They ran after him.

"Excuse me," she said, almost knocking over a technician as she ran across the the assembly room. The padawan knows that running is probably a safety hazard here, but there is no use to avoid it. Getting the master key is more important than being safe right now.

Amaterasu leaped over one of the larger constructions with a Force Jump and landing on a conveyor belt on the other side. Using the movement of the machine to gain a little extra speed, the padawan made her way to the male twi'lek, who was in the process of opening an emergency exit.

The twi'lek aggressively attacked the padawan with a knife, slashing wildly. They were easy to dodge, partially because of the aid of the Force, and Amaterasu performed a backflip that knocked the knife out of the grasp of the desperate assailant.

When the Twi'lek turned to run the other way he faced Corina, her eyes as cold as ice. She raised her hand and before the twi'lek's eyes his pocket opened and a small keycard floated out.

"Was that so hard?" she asked. The twi'lek did not even respond, but yelled and dived at her. She jumped to the side and the twi'lek flew over the edge of the platform and down into the mechanical works, far below. He landed with a sickening crunch.

"Come, let's get the chip and get out before everyone knows we're here."

"Of course," said Amaterasu, who cringed at the fate of the male twi'lek.

Once at the terminal, it did not take very long to extract the chip from the console. Other than the security precautions, there was nothing that hid the identity of the information chip in question. Amaterasu downloaded the information onto a disk, and cleared the terminal of all traces of the said information. "Now, to get out of here..."

Corina was waiting at the door, "We can't go the way we came in, that's crawling with guards, and the other exit is through the assembley lines. We'll have to run. Go."

Together they sprinted to the factory once more.

Within the factory, armed men await them. The learner gripped the hilt of her lightsaber, ready for action, but kept the weapon unlit. "Would this still be the right way to go?"

The grim looks on the faces of the men gave little light to negotiation.

"They haven't spotted us yet," Corina said, hiding behind a console. We could take the other path from the cross roads, but on the map it looked like a dead end. We may be able to cut ourselves out, though."

She ran back out, apprentice in tow and proceeded down the unexplored path.

It did not take long for the two to find the path in question. Lucky for them: they could cut their way out of the factory quite easily. Once the two Jedi were outside, it would be only a matter of time before they make it to the nearest city.

Then got to the end of the corridor and it did indeed come to a dead end. Rooms lined the walls, but none of them led to an exit. Corina walked to the end and hit the wall, trying to judge how thick it was.

"It's solid metal. About twenty centimeters thick. But there's no other way out," she said, resigned to this. She switched on her lightsaber and plunged it into the wall, and slowly began cutting a way out. She made a circle, about a meter in diameter, and she let it fall inwards, on the floor next to her. She looked out. They were very high up indeed, and the star port was very nearby. She looked to her apprentice.

Amaterasu looks down to see the depth of the "fall." There were only two clear options.

"We jump," she suggested.

If they simply climbed down, the chances of being spotted would be greater, as it takes more time to scale the durasteel walls than to just simply let gravity do some work.
