Venturing for the Good (Open)

[Ols]

Corina waited for Ameratsu in the hanger bay. She had requisitioned a transport and had recieved a small four seater ship. She hoped her apprentice was prepared.

 

[Lavi]

((Amy, Amy, Amy... I just like typing names out in full :)))

Amaterasu woke up that morning a little earlier than she expected herself to. It seems she is still really excited about her mission. After a morning bath and dressing appropriately for travel, she clipped her new lightsaber to her utility belt and set off for the hangar bays.

She found Corina by one of the transports, and headed over there. "'Morning, master," she said, bowing at the same time.

 

[Ols]

"Welcome Amy," she said, in a pleasant tone, "this is our ship, if you have everything you need then get on board."

Corina herself climbed into the pilot's seat and gestured for Amy to sit in the co-pilot's seat next to her.

 

[Lavi]

Amaterasu did so, feeling that she could not be more ready for a mission. Sitting in the co-pilot's seat, she waits for the ship to take off for her first mission. She did her best to control her estactic state of being, not allowing it to take the best of her emotions.

 

[Ols]

She fired up the engines and the ship slowly lifted off. She had not told her anything of the mission yet, nor even where they were going, and she was surprised her apprentice had yet to ask, but she was pleased as this displayed a lot of faith in her. She pinged the satellite station for hyperspace coordinates and input them into the computer. The journey would not be too long, she hoped. Space was cold, and even with her black cloak covering her, her feet were freezing.

 

[Lavi]

"What is this mission about?" asked Amaterasu, once the ship has entered hyperspace. There is little else to do, than to socialize, while space travel is commencing. The padawan pulled her form close together, conserving body heat to combat the coldness of space.

 

[Ols]

"We're going to meet an informant on Balmorra, there we shall discover more," she did not want to give away too much. A lot of her padawan's success depended on her working things out and thinking them through, "you might want to read up on Balmorra while we travel. It's a scumhole at the moment," she said, "but I'm sure we'll have fun."

 

[Lavi]

Amaterasu nods. She has heard of Balmorra: a planet studded with factories. There were rumors that Balmorra was researching methods to improve the AI of their war droids, although little tangible evidence was given.

 

[Ols]

The ship shuddered out of hyperspace and they could see the grey-green world ahead. Corina eased the ship toward the planet and sent their ID to the docks. They recieved permission and the ship came to a smooth landing. She exited the ship, Amy in tow and they walked to the local cantina. Their informant was a Rodian who needed money, and was prepared to sell information. They stood at the bar and waited.

 

[Lavi]

After waiting for half of an hour, Amaterasu began to feel worried. Their informant has not arrived yet. She shifted uneasily as patrons enter and leave the cantina, eyes locking onto their presence. Jedi business.

"I got a bad feeling about this," she murmured to Corina.

 

[Ols]

"I sense it too," she said, making sure her lightsaber had a free path to her hand should she need to draw it. She felt a strange sensation, like something was missing. She could see a Rodian nearby, and she walked over to him, "Which is your favourite star?"

She waited for his reply, "The one that is the dullest," he replied in his native tongue. This was their informant alright. He spoke, handing her a small napsac, "everything you need is inside. Disguises and ID to get you into the lair of the ganglord. Finding the data is up to you though. I'm out of here" said the Rodian, leaving quickly. Corina put the bag on and turned around to see a large group of thuggish looking aliens heading their way.

 

[Lavi]

"Seems word traveled slow today," Amaterasu muttered to herself, upon seeing the thugs. Surely, any criminal would open their eyes upon a spread of latest news of Jedi within the vicinity. The padawan wanted to warn them away, but then again, their goal might not involve them in any sort of way.

Slipping her arms within the sleeves of her robes, Amaterasu pursed her lips and waited for her master to make a final decision.

 

[Ols]

Corina did nothing initially, waiting to see what the thugs did. They may be of some use, but if they knew she and Amy were Jedi, the disguises would be useless. Then again, they could use that to their advantage. She leaned against the bar and the leader of the thugs, a green twi'lek, stood forward and apporached the two girls. He spoke in Ryl, "What are two young girls doing on your own? This cantina can be a dangerous place."

Smarmy lech, she thought, but replied in basic, "We can look after ourselves."

"Boys," said the Twi'lek, "they think they can look after themselves," he laughed and his cronies followed suit. Quick as a flash the Twi'lek changed from buoyant to nasty, leaning forward and spitting, "you won't be safe from us. Come on boys, it looks like we'll have some new slaves at the base."

Corina was usually calm, but mention of slaves lit her heart alight. She called her lightsaber to her hand, but did not ignite it, waiting for the thugs to try to capture them. Then she had an idea let them capture us she said in the Force to Amy, hide your lightsaber. They will take us inside the base itself.

 

[Lavi]

Amaterasu made a ripple within the Force to acknowledge her master's decision. She pulled her robes around her body, and used the Force to un-clip her lightsaber and slip it underneath her clothes, held stationary by telekinesis.

The thought of, even if temporarily, becoming slaves disgusted the human padawan. However, if it is for the mission, Amaterasu will do what she must. The thugs overtook the two, aiming to disarm Corina while the others grabbed hold of Amaterasu. Showing little resistance, Amaterasu allowed her captors to "pad" her down for weapons. With the Force, Amaterasu maneuvered her lightsaber away from the groping hands of her captors, saving it from detection. She did note that they strayed a little longer around her arse and upper torso. The perverts...

 

[Ols]

They took Corina's belt, which did not have her weapon on it, and very roughly carried the two of them to the base, which looked dirty and depraved. They were dropped onto a cold stone floor and some very revealing slave outfits were dropped before them. The twi'lek spoke, "You will change into these."

Corina waved her hand in front of her and said, "you will leave now and you will not lock the door."

"I will leave now and I will not lock the door." He left, the door wide open. Corina shrugged off her cloak and made sure her tunic was fastened as she no longer had a belt. She checked her lightsaber up her sleeve and gestured for her apprentice to follow her out of the room.

 

[Lavi]

Amaterasu followed suit, sliding her lightsaber out from beneath her clothes. The building that they are in appears to be rather large and complex. She delved into the Force, sensing the forms of activities within the building.

Their "jail keeper" was heading to his desk around the corner, thinking that he has forgotten to do something. Farther down, guards flank the entrances. The padawan "looked" down various halls, many which are four-way intersections.

"The master's room seems to be on the east side of the building," she concluded. "Opposite of the assembly lines. It is not too far from our position."

 

[Ols]

Thinking on her feet and using what she had taught her impressed Corina a lot. They sneaked past the guard, busying himself with a filing cabinet and continued down the corridor, hiding in the shadows every time a thug wandered past. They were nearly at the room of the master. There was a security console just ahead, she ran over and typed into it, looking throught the base. She roved through the cameras and command settings and found what she was looking for, the logs. She went down until she found the most recent concerning their quarry. It said that the datachip was being worked on in the private lab, next door to the assembly lines. Security on it had been doubled. She informed her apprentice and took her lightsaber from her sleeve. They jogged over to the door of the lab.

 

[Lavi]

Amaterasu watches as her master surfs through the security console with a feeling of respect. Once Corina was finished, Amaterasu was about to follow, but she remembered something. Turning back to the console, she worked her way through the electronic screens. She then rerouted some of the power system to one of the most common pieces of security. Cameras: overload. Sparks shot out from the nearest security camera, confirming her action. The console locked down, entering a security mode. However, no alarms rang other than a single beep for a technician.

Following her master to the lab door, Amaterasu felt for the hilt of her lightsaber. Something is telling her that whomever is working on the datachip would not let it go without a struggle.

 

[Ols]

The door slid open to reveal the lab. Inside were four Duros technicians and about fifteen thugs, milling around and carrying things from one side to another. As they entered the hubub died. The twi'lek from the club was there, cradling a rifle. He spoke, "Oh, my pretties came all this way to give me their favours."

"Guess again," said Corina, switching on her lightsaber.

 

[Lavi]

Amaterasu activated her lightsaber too, holding it in a defensive stance. "Lay down your weapons: we did not come to fight."

Looking around, all of the thugs had some sort of firearm pulled out already, and the technicians were seeking safety from the predicted outcome of the situation.
