The new Guy; Shawn Mac'neal training [BHG]

Shawn sighed as he saw the nexu retreat, but before he could start to relax as he here’d Ares remind him about the flag and Shawn shouted back, "I haven’t forgotten it’s a little hard to go after the prize with two blood thirsty animals on you’re....." Shawn said as a shot missed him by an inch hitting the ground behind him. Shawn immediately ran for the hall that would lead him to the adjacent hall that would connect to the flag area, serpentine to throw Ares shots off, just as he was about to round the corner into the next hall Shawn felt a siring pain on the side of his leg from a graze of the bullet that tore a piece of shrapnel out of his leg that he didn't know was there do to the numbing effects of adrenalin, and not paying attention to the wounds. Causing him to fall and drag himself into the hall. This is when Shawn felt pain in his lower back where the Kevlar protected him and several places on his left side where he was pegged by both shrapnel from the grenade and a few of the stun rounds which hurt like hell. Shawn immediately removed the shrapnel from his arm and fired the last three rounds from the clip of his rifle down the hall heating the nozzle of the gun to coteries the wounds, and looked through the med kit for the last of the bandages and pain killers and after satisfied with his batch job quietly trekked on towards the flag.

Several droids reacted to shawns movements and opened fire before he was himself able to react. Ares held his sights on an up coming intersection of hallways that allowed him to have a clear line of site on Shawn.

As soon as Shawn saw the droids he immediately dove back around the corner, but not before one of them hit Shawn on his left shoulder. "What is up with these guys and my left side dam that stings." as Shawn shouldered his light slug thrower, and drawing his dual pistols loading them whith explosive rounds, he began firing at the droids focusing at leaving one active to be used for his plans.

Several droids were destroyed, but exploded in violent shrapnel bursts due to the nature of Shawn's ammunition. All droids not destroyed by Shawn's shooting were destroyed by the hot little pieces flying of their brethren. Shawn would have to move farther into the maze if he wanted a droids for his plans.

"Dam guess ill have to continue towards the flag" Shawn said as he changed his clips from explosive to standard rounds, to keep from just blasting away every droid, to hot slag. but before Shawn continued on to the last connecting halls that lead to the flag he salvaged a operational, holo emitter from one of the droids and a interface panel, an undamaged processing unit and a power cell, jerry rigging an interface unit to slice any droids he may come by latter on. He also grabbed a blaster that wasn’t damaged from the shrapnel and a few extra power cells for the blaster from the droids though they were programmed with only stun in mind Shawn hoped he could change the blasters stun setting to a lethal setting to use against the nexu if it came back but even if he couldn't the stun would work just as well, giving him time to finish it off. Shawn continued down the halls towards the flag after storing his new and improvised equipment stopping at every corner to look around it to make sure the coast was clear and also hoped to find one droid all by its lone sum.

Ares let his sniper rifle set for a moment as he pulled something off his belt. "Always be prepared for the unexpected." He said to himself as he held up a flash grenade to look at it for a moment. He first primed then threw the grenade so that it exploded just inside the top of the box maze right above Shawn. The polarized visor on Ares's helmet shielded his eyes from the bright flash that came from the small metal sphere, but he still felt the shock wave through his armor.

Shawn was looking down another hall when the grenade went off, blinding him for a split second, with the type of flash that would blind you if some flashed you with a camera, but the shock wave of the grenade knocked Shawn to the floor knocking the wind out of him. "The... hell... was that" Shawn looked around, drawing his light slug thrower, ready incase something happened to pop up out of no where, and continued down the hall slowly.

Ares laughed to himself as he primed another flash bang grenade. He made sure all his com-links were off so his laughter would not be heard on any open channels. It was one of his goals to appear official when necessary. This time he cooked it just right so that it exploded just as it hit the floor, some ways ahead of Shawn. Droids all around the maze reacted to the noise and started moving towards Shawn’s relative location.

Shawn didn't see the second flash grenade, land a few yards ahead of him, when it exploded in front of him luckily he wasn't close enough to get the full disorienting effects of the grenade like the hearing lose but when it went off it blinded him longer than the first one and it did knocked him down do to a natural reaction from the sudden flash and small concussive blast that hit him, from the air blast that bounced off the walls. Shawn a bad felling that Ares was toying with him and having a good time at his expense.

The next grenade Ares pulled out was bluish in color, it was an EMP grenade. Meant for droids, but still effective against organics. It wouldn’t kill Shawn, but it would zap the day lights out of him, and that’s exactly what Ares wanted.He primed it and threw it like the other grenades, but this time he cooked it so that it would bounce a couple times before exploding. He threw it at a high arch, so that it would come straight down on top of Shawn. It bounced once before exploding a few feet away from Shawn.

Shawn didn't see the EMP grenade do to being stun of the flash and when it went off it caused Shawn to be in extreme pain and stunned him for a little while. "Dam him I’m going to kill him." that guy when I get out of here, Shawn weakly got back to his feet though his entire body felt like someone had just hit him with a shuttle, checked his rigged interface and was relived to find it not fried out do to the power cell hocked up to it came off when Shawn fell from the first flash grenade, and began running for the flag hallway.

Ares quickly picked his rifle back up, guessing that Shawn would be getting to the hallway that led to the flag. It was a straight away, no cover and completely filled with droids. Ares planned on using the droids like shrapnel bombs, shooting the ones close to Shawn instead of actually shooting at him.

A lone droid rounded the corner of the hallway in response to Shawn's running, it quickly opened fire.

Shawn saw the droid round the corner and picked up speed not caring bout the little pains he felt from the cuts which were healing fast do to the bacta and was moving in a zig zag pattern, to throw off the droids targeting sensors, and went into a slide going for the droids legs to knock it down.

Being that the droids was clunky and had a primitive A.I. It was unalbe to correct its balance and fell with a metallic thud. It was still very much aware, but was unable to get back up or aim at Shawn directly. So it started squirming and shooting into the air.

Shawn immediately flipped the droid over and disconnected the power supply to disable the droid, then took the back panel off and took out his jerry rig interface, re connecting the power supply to the interface and connected it to the droids interface port, then Shawn temporarily disconnected the droids motor functions, then reconnecting the droids power supply began reprogramming the droid to get the flag for Shawn and bring it back, and not to attack the other droids unless fired upon, or if they open fire on Shawn. Shawn checked to make sure that his programming had taken effect and re connected the droids motor functions and stood it back up. Shawn then tossed his last smoke grenade into the flag area waited for it to fill the area and sent his newly befriended droid to get the flag.

All the other droids did nothing when the hacked droid walked through the group. They were not programmed to shoot at each other, so they didn’t seem to care. Ares watched as the droid walked to the flag inside the flag room, he realized it was acting irregularly but refrained from shooting it due to the fact that it would take the decoy flag that Kal had put in place of the real one. He waited for it to get right in front of Shawn before blowing its head off.

The droid grabbed the flag and started walking back and did a quick scan of the area on its way back, making sure no hostels were detected, it rounded the corner where Shawn was waiting and dropped it near Shawn "now why didn't I think of this sooner, what ever now lets see what it brought me." Shawn said as he downloaded the sensor logs and looked at the flag knowing the old term looks can be deceiving and noticed that there was no marking on the flag just a red cloth, just as Shawn realized that it was a different flag, the droids head exploded near Shawn causing some shrapnel to impact his Kevlar armor which protected him " That... I'm getting tired of these games !" Shawn then moved back a few feet and began searching for the location of the flag through the droids visual logs, and found it across the room under a barrel, Shawn changed his clips in the pistol back to explosive rounds and began firing at the closes droids at the mouth of the hall, and slowly moving towards the barrel that the flag is under, while moving from any small amount of cover he cold find on his way there.

Ares decided it was time to actually use the scope on his sniper rifle, and not blind fire anymore. He sighted Shawn ducking and running towards the flag room, which by now was full of smoke. He was gunning down most of the droids at a fast clip. He waited for Shawn to stop behind cover for a moment, and then fired at his legs as he stood up. The shot was clean and precise, very hard to dodge considering Shawn wasn’t even facing Ares.

Shawn was running at the flag when Ares shot hit him in his leg tripping him up and Shawn fell face first right into the barrels, Shawn slowly got back up and grabbed the flag and quickly limped into the hall that was near the barrels where he fell. And started to head for the entrance where he came in.
