The Caves of Ossus (Ask)

[Ols]

Corina sat on a cold stone bench in the vast entrance hall of the Jedi temple. She awaited two padawans ready to send them on a mission into the woodlands. It was almost night, too, the sunset sending rays of golden light through the high windows. Corina was sitting in a drop of the warm light and she liked it. She waited patiently.

 

[Trakon]

As Osman arrived he saw his master was already here. But not the other Padawan he had heard of. "Hello master I have arrived."

 

[Lavi]

"Master Linar," greeted one of the padawans as she approached.

Amaterasu, often referred to as Amy by Corina, is a human, standing about 6 feet tall. Her dark brown hair, tied into a bun, was hidden under the hood of her robes. She bowed to the Jedi Knight, her hands slid up the sleeves of her robes.

 

[Trakon]

"Well Master it seems everyone that needs to be here is here so please go on in detail of the mission." Osman had looked the other Padawan over and could tell she was most likely a healer.

 

[Ols]

"Welcome, my padawans," she said, "Amy, this is Osman Pasha and Osman, this is Amaterasu Selena. I'm sure you'll work well together," she smiled and continued, "no doubt you are wondering what mission you have. Well I can't tell you much, there is not to be known. As you know, Ossus is home to many woodlans and caves. It is also a planet filled with the Force. We have, however, felt a disturbance in some of these caves. Something with the imprint of the darkside. The caves are close by, in the forests, and we want you to venture there and right this wrong. You will only have the Force and your lightsabers with you. Have you any questions?"

((You two RP going there, I'll add a post every now and then explaining the nature of what you find...if you manage to find it of course.))

 

[Trakon]

"Do we have have any good idea as to what is going on? A cult maybe?"

 

[Lavi]

Amaterasu nodded to Osman as the introductions were made, and listened closely to Corina's explanation of the mission. A cave, filled with the dark side? She thought for a moment about the mission. "No questions, Master."

 

[Ols]

Corina nodded to Amaterasu and turned to Osman, "like I said, we have simply felt a disturbance. It is for you to investigate."

Corina was being deliberately evasive, the padawans had to do this themselves.

"If that is all, then may the Force be with you. And watch out for the wild beasts, the bad ones come out at night," she said, smirking.

 

[Trakon]

Osman nodded then quickly gathered his wits and began to leave. The he turned around. "You coming or do you want to stay here?"

 

[Ols]

((I will add in the odd post now and then...but there will be no pattern to it, just how the mission progresses.))

[Lavi]

"It is about time we got going," said Amaterasu, "may the Force be with you, Master."

With Osman not far behind, Amaterasu proceeded into the Ossus wilderness. She kept her senses sharp, as it does seem that the time of the mission is at a pretty inconvenient time of the day. It did not take long to discern the location of the cave in question: it emitted such a strong, unique aura that it is easily recognizeable.

 

[Trakon]

"That is not a good feeling." The cave did have a large dark side feel to it and Osman was getting that feeling someone was watching them."Amy we are most likely being watched right now." He pulled his lightsaber out just in case.

 

[Lavi]

"Keep your calm," Amaterasu said, calmly, her eyes closed. "The one who panics first tends to be the first to act poorly."

The padawan centered herself into the Force, stretching her senses to find the feeling that Osman felt. The wilderness is just so vibrant with life, it is taking a little longer than usual to search through the Force.

[Ols]

((Beasts probably...nothing too bad until you get into the cave ;) ))

 

[Trakon]

Osman listened to her but kept his senses up. He stretched out to feel inside the cave but couldn't find anything far in for some reason. Osman pulled out a small light to look inside the cave.

"Well let's go see it." Osman walked inside of the entrance of the cave.

 

[Lavi]

"Indeed," answered Amaterasu, feeling for the hilt of her lightsaber.

The dark side energy just felt… Weird. It was as though it was just some foreign energy that had no relation to the Force that the human padawan knew. With Ossan's light as a guide, she followed, mentally battling the dark side so that she could continue use of her Force senses.

"I have a bad feeling about this…" she muttered.

 

[Ols]

From the surrounding darkness, a noise like the flapping of wings can be heard. It is approaching the padawans. All of a sudden a wave of monstrous flying reptiles fly at them, with the distinct intent of eating the padawans.

 

[Trakon]

"You are not the only one." Osman could feel Amy having a fight to keep her force senses going. Strange though, how he had no problem with it. The very place seemed to comfort him in a strange disturbing way. No, he told himself, I am a Jedi and I will not fall to the dark side.

Not yet, said a strange voice in his head.
((This has nothing to do with anything in the tunnel so don't worry))

Suddenly large reptillian animals attacked them flying around. Osman quickly turned his lightsaber on and got into his Soresu form. They flew around him and he easily defended himself only slightly changing his defense to attack a creature close by.

[Lavi]

It took a moment to wrestle past the dark side energy and detect the swarming, flesh-eating, mynock-looking creatures. Amaterasu raised a hand towards the horde and concentrated on performing a mind trick, to deter the targets of the beasts. Pray it works…
