“Not good!” He barked, firing a few more shots at the rear speeder, “Try to get us out of the city!” Dolworth suggested, checking on Yolanda to see if he was still alive.

Out of the city?” Song cried back, groaning. “Absolutely not! We have to get to my ship!

This wasn’t going to be easy.

Still flying down the boulevard, the Mandalorian took a sudden U-turn, the speeder whipping around onto the opposite lane. Other speeders screeched to a stop, horns shrieking, but she kept pushing on. Their pursuers followed after, though smashed into one or two other vehicles on the way, slowing them down.

That was when she saw it, down the street and in the distance: local law enforcement. Sirens blared, and her heart took a two-story drop. Dread crept inside her and settled in to make a home. She hoped they weren’t about to deal with Sector Rangers too, because that was the last thing she needed right now.

Last thing she needed was a bounty on her head too.

Quickly, she turned the speeder into an alley, hoping to throw off Yolanda’s crew and the fast approaching officers before they spotted her and her fellow Mandalorian partner. If they were seen as the source of this whole disaster, chances were she’d never get to visit Lothal again, or the rest of the Sector.

God, she hated bounty hunting.

"My ships coming here!" he blared out, looking to see the Locals begin to show up. Before they could even do anything River turned down an alley. He heard gunfire as he looked behind them. He let out a smirk beneath his helmet as both Yolanda's crew and the local cops began to have their own shootout, "Well Well! And here I thought I was going to have to call in my gunship for backup!" he said as he prepared to call Dusty off and tell him to find somewhere to hide out till he got back. "Shall we head back to your ship?" he asked.

Shooting out of the alleyway, the Mandalorians found themselves back on the street, but they hadn’t escaped just yet. Yolanda’s crew and local law enforcement continued to trail behind them. It was only a matter of time before they were on top of her.

Your ship’s coming to us?” Song said in disbelief, not sure whether to be relieved at the news or annoyed he hadn’t told her before. “Great, I just passed the last exit.

Muttering something in Mando’a, she took another U-turn, crossing over the space in-between the opposite lanes before accelerating down an exit ramp.

Suddenly, they were in an underground tunnel, circular but thankfully empty of traffic. Dull lights flashed past her. Another blaster shot smacked into their speeder’s trunk and the engine began to sputter. Song looked at the gas light and was astonished to find that they were almost out of fuel.

Seriously?!

She couldn’t believe how her day was going. First a bar shoot-out, then a messy chase sequence, and now they were about to be sitting ducks.

I hope your ship’s close,” Song would say, “We’re running on fumes!

Dolworth rolled his eyes as he saw the fuel meter on the verge of emptying out, "Were going to have to ditch the vehicle real soon!" he snarled as he watched as this moving three way gunfight unfold. He thought the cops would make Yolanda's crew back off but this wasn't going to work. He snarled as they began to make their way to the exit. Their pursuers were getting closer...closer...closer

Without warning a bright light shinned at the end of the tunnel as they made their way out. As their speeder zipped past the source of the bright light, the sounds of light laser cannon fire could be heard, and the screeches of speeders that were coming to a stop and retreating. Dolworth let out a howl as he looked over to see his Gunship was using its Ventral Laser turret to bring their pursuers to a halt. The lights the gunship was using were blinding both Yolanda's crew and the perusing cops, meaning they couldn't identify who or what was shooting at them. By the time the Gunship ceased firing and slipped away to not be recognized, Dolworth and River's Speeder were long gone.

"Well I think its safe to say that well be in good shape!" he said as he checked on Yolanda, the guy soundly asleep by this time given how hard Dol knocked him out, "Were going to need to find somewhere to dump this Speeder. After that we need to get to your ship fast." he warned as their speeder's energy ran completely to zero...

Ditch the vehicle?” Song repeated his question back to him, but sarcasm was laced in her voice as she said, “Oh, and here I thought we were going to take it with us for a nice drive to Mon Cala!

Song was feeling particularly cheeky in that moment, whether because of the adrenaline pumping inside of her or the spotchka she had drank before, she had no idea, but she sure did enjoy it. The thrill of a chase, the heat of battle. It was the kind of adventure she dreamt of as a little girl on Krownest, now a reality.

Although, at the moment, she might have considered it more of a nightmare than a dream.

Law enforcement and Yolanda’s crew was closing in fast. Even as she saw the light at the end of the tunnel, her paranoia screamed at her to turn around, afraid the ship ahead was a police gunship. She was relieved when, instead of firing at her, the ship blinded their pursuers, giving her time to escape into the night unscathed and unfollowed.

Now in the city outskirts, Song did her best to pretend she was an ordinary local despite the wrecked conditions of the speeder. It was when she spotted a lot by an old metro station that she finally parked, the fuel tank at a perfect zero.

Here’s fine,” she said, and the engine sputtered and died. “My ship’s with the landing platforms, but they’re on the other side of the city. We could walk, or…

Song gestured over to the railway. “…take a shortcut?

Dolworth let out a almost hysterical howl and laugh as the gunship began to pull off, watching River letting out laughter in the process, "Not going to lie! This definitely competes with the job we pulled on Sorgan!" he howled as they began heading into the metro. When River suggested they take a shortcut in the form of using the Metro, Dolworth wanted to agree but a thought crossed his head.

"I hate to break it to you Vod, but with all the shenanigans we just had, i bet the local Law Enforcement will have locked the metro down." he said, a frown across his lips replacing the smile he had for a moment, "However..." a smirk quickly replaced his frown as he pushed a button on his helmet, "There are more ways to travel than by land or rail." he stated, in time to turn to see his Gunship lower down, the port side hatch opening and him turning to pick up the unconscious Yolanda, "Need a Lift?" he asked.

That’s a good point,” said Song at his reply, turning away from the metro and back to him, wondering if he had another idea in mind.

She watched him press the transmitter on his helmet, and she could feel his smirk hiding in underneath, even if she couldn’t see it. Song already knew what it was he doing too, yet she couldn’t resist smiling back. Of course, there was always a third option for them to choose from.

The gunship, back after its retreat, cruised low across the sky and came to a hovering point beside them. A side hatch swished open, and as the Solus picked up Yolanda and gestured her in, Song nodded and said, “Well why wouldn’t I?

She leapt on into the safety of the ship before helping the other Mandalorian in too, where he presumably dumped Yolanda’s unconscious body to the floor.

Nice ride,” she’d say, quick to admire the transport.

"Thanks" replied Dolworth as he grabbed a set of cuffs from a small bench. He then fastened them to the cuffs Yolanda was already in. He then locked the guy to a railing before grabbing a glowstick. He checked a few more times and made sure that Yolanda was indeed alive. He checked a few times, smirking as he noticed the man started to come around, "Well Well Well!" said Dolworth with a grin under his helmet, "Sleeping Beauty finally wakes up!" he said as he made sure the man was well fastened to the railing, "Your boys caused us quite a mess today huh?!" he said as he took control of his ship, sealing the hatch and they took off

"Look man!" came out a gruff voice, "I don't know whose paying you but I can double it!" he said, a hint of arrogance and fear in his voice.

"No" replied Dolworth.

"Ill Triple it! Quadruble it!" retorted Yolanda.

"Buddy...You're boys tried to kill me and my partner here in the bar...then they tried to kill us and a bunch of VERY nice cops just a few min ago while your lights were out. The cops i'd imagine are collecting your boys as we speak" he spat as they began to swing around the outskirts of the city, keeping a low profile and avoiding cops, "Not to mention the bounty on your head is no where NEAR the amount of cash you even have on you!" he said as he nodded to River to keep an eye on him, "If he even looks like he's about to remove those cuffs, you can either stun him...or blast him" he said looking back at Yolanda, "Like we said earlier...we could either bring you in Warm...or we could bring you in Cold." he warned, "So which is it going to be?" he asked as he began to look around the hangars for River's Ship...

Song was surprised to finally see Yolanda conscious and lucid. He had been knocked out for long, she thought he was either dead or the Solus had punched him into a short-term coma. As Yolanda blabbered on about payment, pleading for his freedom as if money would buy their forgiveness after everything which had transpired, she wondered if the other Mandalorian would sucker punch him again.

She wondered if he’d let her to do it instead.

But she said nothing, still and silent as the Solus laid it on thick for Yolanda. There was nobody, and nothing, that would get him out of that position: cuffed and led back to the Guild. After their near-death experience, Song would make sure of it.

Okay, okay,” Yolanda said to the Solus, seemingly giving in.

However, as her vod went to check for her ship, the thug leaned in close to Song, his voice falling to a whisper, and said, “Hey, you. Strong silent type, right? You like credits, don’t you?

Song remained quiet, staring at him through her tinted visor, eyes like knives.

Listen,” said Yolanda. “You gotta split the bounty with your friend, right? That’s not a money, ain’t it? If you kill your buddy and let me go, I can triple that, and you can have it all. Whatever you want. By the light of Lothal’s moons, I swear.

Song looked at him long and hard. Her head tilted.

No.

With a clean, swipe of her leg, a graceful kick, her heel met his temple and for the second time, he was knocked out.

Content, Song drifted over to the Solus’ side and said with a smile, “That's better.

Dolworth watched River as she knocked Yolanda out again. He smirked under his helmet as he turned back to focus on flying, “River I’m not gonna lie, if you keep up that kind of work ethic you’ll be a great hunter in no time!” He chuckled as he began hovering over the landing bays, “Right where’s your ship vod?” He asked...

Who says I’m not a great hunter already?” Song said smugly, arms crossed and eyes staring out through the cockpit window.

She looked out to the horizon, and the surrounding city below, searching from one landing platform to another for her ship. Although she knew exactly where she left it, from the sky, it hard to tell. Like looking at a map but from a different angle, she pieced together a few familiar details, then pinpointed where her freighter was.

There it is,” she said, pointing down to a secluded hangar at the very edge of the platforms. “The YT-2400 freighter right there, in landing bay six.

As the gunship would steer down to the hangar, Song retreated back into the cabin, where the still unconscious Yolanda waited. Though she didn’t want to, she figured she ought to carry him after the Solus had since the start of their little misadventure.

I got him,” she’d say, before hoisting Yolanda over her shoulder. "By Mandalore, he's heavier than he looks."

Or maybe she needed to work out more. Her armor was already heavy enough. Having a sleazy criminal on her back too was just straddling the line of how much she could carry.

“Got it” Dolworth noted as he opened the port hatch and helped River and their quarry out of the ship. He watched as River carried Yolanda up into the ship, “Damn, you told me that you had a 2400 but you didn’t tell me how much of a beut she was!” He complimented.

“Make sure you keep that chump locked down good!” He warned, “If you got it put him in carbonite.” He finished as he stood next to the ramp...

Thanks,” she said, taking the compliment. “Haven’t given her a name yet, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out down the road.

Actually, it’s name was the Crow, courtesy of her father. It was an old and absolutely dreadful pun too, since Clan Wren resided from Krownest. So, when Song stole it from him, she did away with the name. Now that it was brought to her attention, she wondered now about what to call her.

Another time, perhaps.

Song dumped Yolanda inside her ship, at the top of the ramp, and chained him to pipe embedded into the wall. The man wouldn’t be leaving that spot anytime soon, not even to piss, and not until she reached the Guild house on Mon Cala, which even through hyperspace was some lengths away.

Don’t worry,” said Song, before she looked back to the Solus man. He lingered at the foot of the ramp.

I guess this is where we part ways?

“For now at least” noted Dolworth, “Should you ever need help with a bounty, a merc job or hell even hang out...” tosses a comm chip, “Just give me a holler.” He finished before stepping back to let River seal and take off, “Good luck with the turn in...and remember what I said about your sister.” He reminded, “Find them. Bring em him. Whatever happened Family’s Family no matter what Vod.” He said as he gave River a salute...

Song caught the commlink effortlessly and glanced at it in the palm of her hand. A thin smile stretched across her mouth. She was glad to have met the other Mandalorian, glad that they had joined together for Yolanda’s bounty, glad he was there to help her through the hellish nightmare of what followed. Whatever awaited them in the future, Song hoped it was soon.

I’ll keep that in mind,” she said, and tucked the chip into her breast pocket.

At his last request, in reference to her “sister,” her heart took a slight dip. How little the other Mandalorian knew about her family, or the truth, that her brother was dead and the sister was standing right in front of him. Truly, Song wanted to tell him. She wanted to let someone know, but as long as River’s killer was out there, she couldn’t.

But sooner or later, she would. Revenge would be hers.

Will do, vod,” said Song at last, retreating back up the ramp, but before she could close it, added, “You know, I don’t believe you ever gave me your name, brother?

“Dolworth, of Clan Solus.” Replied River, “But my vod call me Dol.” He said as he heard Dusty chirping from the hatch, “Will you calm down?! We’ll be leaving in a minute...or two!” He turned back to River, “Sorry, Dusty can be a bit antsy sometimes.” He chuckled.

Dolworth.” Song echoed his name, letting it stick to mind. “Got it.

And that she did. It was a name she wouldn’t be forgetting anytime soon, and the same went for Clan Solus. Although they and Clan Wren had parted ways from Mandalore decades or even centuries ago, she hoped this bizarre adventure was a small step in the right direction. Towards a wider, more united and connected Mandalore, like it was in the days of old.

A dream for another time, perhaps.

Well, I’ll be sure to reach you whenever I get the chance,” she said, patting her chest plate and the transmitter tucked beneath it. “Know that you can too, vod. We’re Mandalorians. I got you.

Song watched the droid perk from its hatch and whine to Dolworth, before slinking away at his response. She laughed. “Dusty?” she said, echoing another name. “I’ll remember that too.

She smiled, though he wouldn’t see it, and gave him the same salute he had before. A sign of respect between two warriors of the Creed. A proper farewell.

See you around, Dol.

"Aye, see you around." noted Dolworth, turning before jerking back again, "Ohh! Almost forgot! Um, In that you'll also find the signals to both Adenn Rytt and Talon Viszla. They're part of my crew and so far two of three of the best Vods you can find! If you need a crew of Vod look no further!" he suggested with a chuckle as he backed up, watching the ramp fold and the hatch close, the ship starting to take off...

Aden Rytt and Talon Viszla. While Song hadn’t heard of Clan Rytt before, no doubt because of the nomadic state of Mandalore and Wren’s isolation on Krownest, she knew Vizsla very well. Like Solus, she heard stories about the Clan as a child. Names and old legends like Pre-Vizsla, former leader of Death Watch.

Song wondered what Adenn and Talon were like, but if they were half as skilled and respectable as the Mandalorian before her, she looked forward to meeting them someday. Whether over a few drinks of spotchka or in the heat of battle, she was always open to meeting other Mandalorians. To bringing them together again.

Song gave another soft smile to Dolworth as she nodded and closed the ramp. Smoke hissed out from the sides, and then, it closed. Their adventure finally at its end.

She made her way up to the cockpit after making sure Yolanda was secured in place, and with a few swipes across the dashboard, brought her ship out of the hangar. Below, she watched as Dolworth left, as the landing platform shrunk in size and blurred into the rest of the city, as Lothal’s grassy dunes gave way to cloud-filled skies.
