"Helping everyone?"

He said as his eyes bore into his young padawan's, this was an important discussion and smirking did not bode well for him in Dewbecca's opinion.

((Ftr...He was smirking about the "guardians" line...the rest he was being serious about))

"A Jedi should help everyone they can, anyone they come across who needs help. That's one of the Tenets, is it not? Whether someone is so poor they have no food, or so ill they cannot work, or in danger, it is a Jedi's duty to aid them, if they can. I thought we were meant to help people wherever we went and whenever we could, that is the responsibility that comes with our affinity with the Force."

Dewbecca nodded his head, his young padawan had a great deal of knowledge from books and such but obviously books and tenants did not teach a jedi everything.

"The tenants says these things yes but you have to take into account different circumstances. Being a jedi can be about a balancing game, how can you help one person if it hurts another or cause innocents more problems. Many jedi over the years have done what they feel is right only for it to become apparent they have caused more harm"

"A person can only use their judgement and the knowledge availiable to make an informed decision," said Cade, in agreement. Then he added, "Of course, as Jedi, we have the advantage of the Force guiding us."

"Exactly, you have hit it there. The force will and always will help us. You must become attuned to the force as it can guide you though the life of a jedi, there will be disturbances in the force and you must think on these, investigate these and the force is your guide"

Cade paused as he thought of this. He spoke, choosing his words with care, "I know, master. I see through the Force easier than other padawans, it is a trait of my species after all. I feel more attuned to it every day, whether it was day to day as a youngling, and even now, I feel it coursing through me more and more. I notice disturbances, but some are too far away for me to help, as a padawan anyway. I trust in the Force, now I can begin to understand it's calling more."

Dewbecca nodded his head, indeed the miraluka were a very strange race but miraluka jedi always had a strong atunement to the force.

"Indeed, you have from a Jedi's point of view a great gift and I believe you can become a great jedi but you must stay humble at all times. The people of this galaxy do not want to see Jedi as arrogant egotistical people, be confident in your abilities but always remember you are here to serve others"

That was a great compliment coming from a master. He replied slowly.

"They're not arrogant or egotistical," said Cade. He had heard many people refer to them like that before. He continued, "those who say that are ignorant and unwilling to believe we are there to help. Most are scared of the unknown, I think, though. And I won't forget to serve others, that is the pinnacle of life as a Jedi."

"Yes it is, some say a jedi is but an instrument of the forces will. You must however keep control over yourself though out, as a jedi you will see many things you will not like but you must always keep control for there is not just one side of the force"

There had been much talk with jedi off what the othr side to the force was, if the jedi served the light then the other side could only be described as darker....Something fueled by anger many jedi masters said

"But the dark side of the Force serves the wicked for their own gain," he said, "we are servants of the light for the gain of others. I do not fear the dark side, and I understand the importance of control. For to fall I have heard that it is a great feat to redeem yourself. Is that true?"

"It is a difficult one, there has not been any followers off the dark side for thousands of years. Yes there are many jedi who fall from the path of light but rarely are they heard from again. To redeem ones self from that would require great sacrifice and to look deeply within ones self. This is why jedi feel a certain level of control is important over ones emotions, we will never claim to repress them all, indeed jedi can love and be married but control is important"

"Then as long as I have control, I should be fine," said Cade, confident now, "and I think I have control."

"Never think that you have complete control, it is something that always requires your full attention"

Dewbecca stood up slowly, his full height being braught up against his padawan with a warm smile across his face.

"I believe I have taught you everything I can my padawan, I will inform the grandmaster that I think you are ready.

"Yes master," he replied and listened on. Cade could not help but smile as he heard his master's words and spoke again, "Thank you, Master Dewbecca, I will make you proud to have been my master."
