"I think I would life to try it, Master. I have been trying to find the form that would be right for me." The one thing about his size Pan had never liked was how it slowed him down. "Perhaps Djem So is more my speed."

"Don't get me wrong," she said, "Djem So masters are a blur when they fight, but it is not as acrobatic as Ataru." She handed him a training saber and then drew her own, "follow me," she said and started to show him the basics of Djem So.

Pan took the training saber she offered him and observed her movements a moment before following her. He threw all his focus in to it, determined to succeed at this.

"Your form is a little edgey, but you are putting the strength in alright," she said. He needed more of a challenge to improve though, "spar with me," she waited for him to attack, dropping into her own Ataru stance.

Pan nodded, giving his master a thoughtful, "Sizing up" once over. He knew better than to judge strength by size. Not where the Force was involved. He settled into the stance she had shown him and launched into an agressive serries of strikes. He fueled his considerable strength into the movements he had just learned, allowing the Force to guide him and aid his stamina.

((OOC: I'm out for the night. Have a good one. :) ))

He had opened himself up to the Force and he let it fuel him. He was very impressive, especially for his first real sparring contest. But she had more experience and stayed in control. He leaps and twists made her seem to be defying gravity, and she began to test his defense. He was not tiring and the Force guided his lightsaber. So she decided to up the tempo.

Pan had a difficult time keeping up and was forced to take the defensive. Even with the Force to guide him it was difficult- she moved so fast! He turned his focus to maintaining a steady defence, only getting in a jab every now and then. At this pace he wasn't sure how long he could keep it up.

She saw him tiring and stopped.

"There is a technique, something many practitioners of Ataru, Djem So and Juyo rely on, where they let the Force fuel them as energy. It allows you to fight for much longer, much more effectively. To use it, just open yourself up and let the Force fuel you," she said. It sounds simple, but it is much harder to actually do it.

Pan took a deep breath. "Alright Master. I shall try- er, do it." He closed his eyes, opening himself up to the familiar presence of the Force. 'Let it fuel me, let it fuel me...'

"I think I am ready to continue, Master."

Corina unleashed more attacks, a little faster than before. She was not using her full skill though, that would have overwhelmed the young feline.

Pan gave himself over to the Force. It was much easier to keep pace this way. He still didn't have much time to get any attacks in but he worked on it, pressing forward with a growl. The aggressive style suited his approach, blocking and repelling attacks.

Corina was impressed by his stamina so far, but then she fell into a defensive stance and allowed him to attack. It would cost him more energy to attack in this form.

Pan took cautious advantage of her shift into the defensive with a steady barrage of aggressive strikes and jabs. The plan, as suited this form, was to win by way of overwhelming force before he tired, which with the Force could be a while but he didn't want to push it. However, he wasn't expecting anything like a victory against one so experienced; He aimed to impress.

She was up to blocking his strikes, but they were very strong. She was pleased. After a while she switched off her lightsaber and stood before him, "How do you feel you have done?"

Pan followed her example and switched off his saber. He rolled his shoulders and breathed slowly, trying to curb his adrenaline rush. "Well, Master, but not as well as I could have done."

"You should give yourself more credit than that, you are only beginning to learn the form," she said, "Make sure you practice it. What do you know of how a lightsaber is crafted?"

Pan nodded. He intended to train in the form at every given opportunity.

"It is constructed with a crystal, power cell and cylindrical metal. Each Jedi constructs their own. I have studied the process briefly." The Cathar replied, hoping his excitement wasn't too obvious. Building his own lightsaber was something he very much looked forward to.

She sensed his anticipation in the Force, "And what is a lightsaber, to a Jedi?"

"It is a weapon and a symbol of our order." Feeling lacking Pan added, "It is a mighty tool. Often just its presence can dissuade a battle."

"True," she said, "but it is not a Jedi's weapon, it is a tool. And your lightsaber should be more than something for combat, it should be your only true possession and it should reflect you in it's craft. What about the crystals you mentioned, what do you know of them?"
