If Varyn had known more about Killiks, he wouldn't have been surprised to find out that the creature knew he was coming. But he didn't know more about Killiks, and so when the monster managed to evade him and reassert its own attack, Varyn was surprised and would have been impressed had he had the time to stop and think about it. But there wasn't time for that.

It reared back and the rocket slammed into the Killik, its body taking the brunt of the impact and sparing Varyn from being seriously injured. It also forced the creature's attack off course, and Varyn leapt back once again, looking for a fresh opening to strike.

Vahl's lightning found its mark as well, and once again, Varyn felt he was in a good position for grasping a finishing blow. The creature was wracked with electricity, no doubt causing its muscles to seize and spasm, it was blind, and it was in pain. Varyn didn't feel an ounce of mercy.

He reached out to the Force, gripping a peace of rebar from the upturned duracrete after so many explosions and ship blasts, and hurled it like a spear aimed to pierce directly through the creature's head. Hopefully that would be the end and he'd be able to move to help Vahliri who had, of course, yeeted herself at the next biggest enemy she could find. (@Altaris).

Varyn dodges the missing attack, grabs a piece of rubble/rebar with the Force, and tries to spear the bug through the head with it. If he's successful, he'll move off to help Vahliri.

Quin heard a voice beside him, and to his surprise, it was the Sith he’d been fighting alongside with earlier offering his help.

“Thank you,” he managed to say, a brief smile appearing on his face as some of the weight was relieved off his shoulders. With two of them working together, it would be much easier to reach the stairs the slightly farther way, as right now Laeo’s safety was his priority. The tanker Killik was getting closer, and he wanted his friend out of harm’s way before they would focus their attention on it.

As he got closer to the stairs though, he could only watch in horror as the Killiks tore apart two of the CorSec agents defending the place where he had been just a while ago before promptly being put down. One life at the price of two… The realization hit him like a wave, and he had to stop for a moment before he felt the Sith at his side.

Keep going. He could hear Master Mirror’s voice in his head, urging him to continue on. The worst thing he could do was to stand here and do nothing while the Killiks kept up their attack. With that, he hurried his pace a little bit before catching sight of a relatively safe corner to put Laeo where the man would at least be out of the line of fire.

“Stay here, and hold on. We’ll keep you safe.” Laeo was in no condition to go anywhere anyway, but Quin still said it anyway as he set him down gently. Can he hear me? He was worried for the man’s chances of surviving and was about to try to heal him with the Force, but something else caught his eye.

Straightening up, he turned to see the Tanker Killik barreling into the group at the other end of the stairs. He was reluctant to leave Laeo, but he didn’t want to risk the lives of the others either.

“They need our help. You… you coming?” Ironically, the Sith was now his most trusted ally on the battlefield today, and he couldn’t help glancing at him as he spoke. It would be nice to have someone to watch out for.

Quin is taking the long way to get back to the stairs. If he gets there, he sets Laeonas down in a spot away from the Killiks and then begins to head in the direction of the Tanker Killik.

Caerllion merely nodded when the Jedi said his thanks. The Sith was only doing it because he didn’t want to lose another ally. With the loud guy down, there were only the two of them at this side of the battlefield to deal with the bugs. If the Light Sider was also knocked out, he would be the only one fighting against an entire army and the Annfyn didn’t want that.

Like the Jedi, Caerllion also saw the two members of the CorSec being killed by the Killik. Unlike the other, the Acolyte didn’t stop walking. “If you want to avoid that from happening again, you should walk fast.” he muttered. There was no good in staying thinking about deaths that already happened. They should do something to stop it from repeating.

Once they reached a safe place, the two would put the wounded man on the floor. While the Jedi attended him, Caerllion merely watched the scene. He had his doubts if the guy had any chance of surviving, or even if he was still alive. Rather than saying something, he let the Light Siders become full of false hope. At least it could give him more reasons to continue fighting.

Yes, I’ll.” Caerllion answered the Jedi’s question. It was strange to think that the two were working together. However, he had no choice but to cooperate. It was that or facing their destruction. He would turn to look at the Tanker Killik and then back to the Light Sider, expecting if he had any strategy to kill the abomination.

@Sicadorito

Caerllion continues helping Quin move Laeonas to a safe place in the stairs. If it goes well, he is going to help the Jedi fight the Tanker Killik.

He'd been in the middle of his insult when the Killiks came upon him. The Brentaalan had always been hot tempered, and even after his training with the Jedi anger could overcome his sense. It had undone him so many times in the past that he ought to have learned his lesson by now, but in that and in another regard, he simply hadn't been quick enough. It felt almost instantaneous, and the Brentaalan could only throw his head back to avoid the claw tearing his head to bloody chunks, instead rending his face and chest open-- but he couldn't stop one of their claws from impaling his stomach.

He didn't feel pain initially-- collapsing in a heap, blood violently spurting from the wound and up from his throat. He began to seize up on the ground, a line of intestine having been yanked out when the killik had pulled out it's claw. The Brentaalan had suffered a multitude of injuries over his life, dozens of scars leftover from blades and blasters and an attempted acid attack covering his entire body from the neck down, but none of those injuries were even close to the catastrophic maiming the Brentaalan faced.

"Quicker," was the last thought that passed through his awareness before he fell into shock. He vaguely made out the shapes and blots of light coming toward him, but didn't register the feeling of being lifted, or put back down. He barely heard Quin's words, didn't see that it was the Sith he had insulted that had helped save him. These were concerns for when he woke-- if he woke, seeing that his and the planet's survival still wasn't a sure thing.

Vahliri didn’t bother to glance over her shoulder - oblivious to the ultimate fate of the Tainted Kilik. While she trusted Varyn to finish the job, it made no difference whether or not the half-Annfyn charged ahead and toward the Tanker in the distance - amber eyes narrowed and glinting with predatory instinct. As she sprinted forth, she nevertheless caught a glimpse of some Ranger moving in to help the FWA Pilot who had never crashed on top of her. Vahliri had to resist the urge to aggressively roll her eyes at the gesture.

Her fingers curled tightly around the hilt of her curved saber, gaze locked onto the Tanker as the Insectoid tucked its legs and began to roll forward. It wasn’t the first time she had seen one of the Swarm move in such a way - though the sheer size of the creature doing it, and the speed in which it moved, made it significantly more terrifying.

Without a moment of delay, Vahliri abruptly cut to the right and began to dart away from the rolling Tanker - putting distance between herself and the path it was charging. While it certainly didn’t prevent the creature from turning to follow her, she hoped it wouldn’t.

At the same time, the half-Annfyn drew her arm backwards and flung the curved hilt of her lightsaber - sending the plasma weapon through the air like a buzzsaw and directly into the trajectory of the Insectoid - attempting to cleave right through its armor plating and slice, just as she had the Tainted Kilik before it.

Unsurprisingly, Vahliri bolts to the right in an attempt to get the hell out of dodge - away from the rolling Tanker. At the same time she throws her saber at it - attempting to buzzsaw the tanker.

After firing his rifle shot, he was aware of the Killik coming behind him, but unfortunately he was in a very awkward spot and in the process of firing to dodge the attack. The young Chiss would turn his head and his body and stepping to the side to avoid but it too late as the attack slashed partially at his back from his right side while mid-turn, ruining the back section armor there and Chiss blood being shed. "Shit" Davan exclaimed in pain. Still his movement at least made it to where the attack wasn't one that would put him out of the fight and armor helped a little. The young Chiss dropped his heavy rifle as well. Davan had an idea that sticking his head out for non-Chiss 'allies' may not go well for him. Now that confirms what he first thought. The CorSec officers aren't that capable and the Sector Ranger Captain instead of shooting is trying to retrieve someone useless in the current fight. Never again.

Davan would quickly pull out his holstered Charric pistol with his right arm and turn to see his Killik assailant, and hastily fire four shots into the creature. They weren't well aimed shots, but thise close distance they didn't need to be . Plus four shots might have been overkill, but if that somehow didn't put down the regular Killik he could fire more shots if need be.

If that Killik died, he would turn to face the one regular Killik near him, ready to fire and try to keep up the fight despite being hurt. There was still that Tanker Killik as well. Hopefully the Sith or Jedi can keep it preoccupied.

Davan tries reacting to the incoming swipe from the Killik but gets partially slashed while turning. Davan drops rifle, draws his charric pistol and fires four shots into the Killik

Wayson saw the kid run off and felt a little bit better about things the fighting had died down and most of the kids were saved but now there was a hulking monster approaching and Wayson had very little left in the tank for that fight.

But he saw two Killiks still near the core and as their backs was towards him the Jedi took the opportunity to take them out quickly.

Blasting at one of the Killiks in the back with his blaster pistol with two bolts the Jedi quickly turned to the next Killik and fired another two bolts at it.

If both of them dropped the Jedi would turn around watching the others facing down the Tanker Killik and watched it turn into a ball coming straight towards the Core. If they survived today Wayson was going to need write this down so there would be some recording of the madness that was this war.

1. Wayson blasts at the Killiks remaining in group 2 in the back with two bolts each.
2. Wayson stares at the tanker Killik and thinks of retirement while remaining near the core.

Well, one gunwielding Joiner was a lot easier to deal with than three and, so, it was a relatively simple matter for Drow to try and deflect the bolt back at the sniper, aiming for a kill. If that proved less than lethal, he'd Force Push the sniper off of the building itself. A fall from that height would kill just about anyone, bug controlled or not. If there was time after, Drow would go back to his repeater and aim it at the Tanker Killik below.

** Saving Laeonas. **

@Quin Leonkri and @Caerllion of Cyfnos made their way back to the steps of the Core, stepping over rubble and maneuvering around the many dead bodies of the Killiks as they did. Once @Laeonas Tannaras was safely set down next to one of the massive pillars, the two of them would be able to make their way toward the Tanker Killik.

** Group three stuff. **

[@Phoenix ]

Vahliri and Romeo's attacks hit the final Tainted Killik one after another, creating an opening for @Varyn Atrix to end things for the wretched bug once and for all. As the bug reared back in pain, off balance, distracted, and in pain, a piece of rebar was forced up out of the duracrete ground and sent flying toward it. Varyn's attack hit the metaphorical bullseye as the textured metal pierced the charred chitin between the creature's many eyes and impaled all the way through to the end of its elongated skull. The Tainted Killik went limp almost the instant the rebar punctured its skull, and as Varyn turned away to follow Vahliri, it fell unceremoniously to the ground. Rigor mortis made up the bug's last movements, and the death twitches were exaggerated by the electric currents still contorting its limbs.

** Upon the stairs and beyond. **
[@The Good Doctor @Richie B. @Nor'baal ]

The Killik, victorious for a moment, watched as its bladed spear slashed through @Grerse'dava'nlon's back and side. It wasn't a mortal wound, which the bug probably would've liked, but it did get the Chiss to drop his big rifle. Unfortunately, before the Killik could gather himself for another attack, Davan drew his Charric pistol and sent a slew of shots into its chest. The insect's spear clattered against the ground, and the thump of the insect falling beside it came soon after when a fifth bullet from @Wayson Hanson came crashing into its side.

While Davan dealt with the first Killik, the other was able to successfully rush in between him, the two remaining CorSec soldiers, and get inside. The shot Wayson sent its way missed as it passed behind a CorSec soldier in Wayson's line of sight. The bug was very aware he was being shot at though, so it scrambled to get a wall in between it and its possible pursuers as soon as it could.

One, singular Killik had breached the threshold of the Core. Though Davan might be the only one to notice at first, the screams of the children inside would alert anyone in the area to the new development (@Logna). The screams weren't just of terror though.

** Construction watchtower. **
[@Fantasy Liver ]

@Drow Venn was able to deflect the bolt back at the sniper, instantly crippling the Joiner's right leg. A quick, but solid, Force push sent the man flying backward toward and through the open wall. He would fall, quite unceremoniously, to his death. Squashed, like a bug, even. He could then aim his repeater at the Tanker Killer, free to fire when he found an opening.

** Taking on the tanker. **
[@Altaris @Kestrel @SlagathorTheUnknown ]

As the Tanker Killik came barreling toward her, @Vahliri Kahtal made the split-second decision to dash to the right and get out of its apparent path. Perhaps the bug could have turned to follow, but it didn't, and it instead continued on its path. Right toward @Bast Emblai and @Bryce Callaway.

Vahliri's saber came swinging around and cut into the thickly armored chitin on the creature's back. The insect's armor was much thicker and more durable than the Tainted Killiks' had been, so rather than cleave right through, the weapon would wedge itself into the chitin. Pained by the lodged weapon, the Tanker Killik ceased its roly-poly position and spread back out, roaring in pain as it did so. In its pain, it released a stream of fiery acid from the extremity on its forehead right toward Bast and the man in her arms, Bryce, in a path from its left to its right. The corrosive substance would burn into Bast's back and melt through any armor, clothing, or skin in the way. The only way out was forward, and quickly, but with Bryce carried in her arms the only way to do that quick enough would mean dropping the unconscious pilot.

Varyn was relieved to see the creature go down in a heap as the rebar passed through its head. He took a deep breath, gripping his saber more tightly as he turned back to the tanker Killik. It was the last real threat left on the battlefield, and he would have loved to see an airstrike decimate it in a single blow. That wasn't going to happen, though.

He could see that sabers were almost incapable of piercing through the creature's armor, and he could already guess the hivemind was going to make it all-but-immune to any sort of mental attack... not that Varyn was exactly a master of the mental.

Instead of assaulting the creature directly, he reached out to the Force, throwing up a barrier to deflect the acid away from the two who were retreating. All it needed was to be redirected into the ground, and that was what he would do. They said the best defense was a good offense, but at this point, he was worried they might outright lose extra fighters to the acid blast.

He held the barrier in place, hopefully allowing them to get clear and perhaps even return fire in a few moments. Not that he didn't want people to get the wounded clear, but... killing the enemy was the higher priority. Can't help someone if you're dead.

@Kestrel @SlagathorTheUnknown

Vahliri was exceptionally relieved to find that the Tanker Kilik wasn’t interested in following her - continuing its forward trajectory and rolling right back. Spinning on her heel, the half-Annfyn turned to face the giant Insectoid once again - breaking back into a sprint to close the distance between them, only now positioned at the creature’s rear. She had seen enough of the footage of Ruusan to know what it was capable of, and she had no desire to be in the Tanker’s incendiary line of fire.

Drawing the secondary shoto-blade from her waist, Vahliri ignited the crimson blade and continued her sprint towards the Tanker - drawing upon the Force and allowing it to build within her extremities. As she approached, the half-Annfyn bent at the knees and sprang forward - the Force billowing to carry her several meters upwards in an attempt to land atop the Tanker’s abdomen, despite its terrifying height. She timed her ascent as the Insectoid unleashed its acidic payload upon Bast and Byrce - using the pair as a distraction to further her own strategy. If they lived, they would hopefully maintain the Insectoid’s attention. If they didn’t? It made little difference.

The half-Annfyn darted forward - amber eyes fixing upon the hilt of her saber still wedged into the Insectoid’s back. While she could have easily used the Force to pull the weapon back into her hands, Vahliri instead left the blade where it was - closing the distance until she could grasp the metallic hilt within her fingers. The Darkness built and roiled forth at the half-Annfyn’s command - flowing through her own body and pouring directly into the weapon that she grasped. Her concentration poured into enshrouded the Force around the weapon - reinforcing and allowing it to act as a conduit of energy. Without any additional warning, ribbons of violet electricity crackled from Vahliri’s fingertips - pouring outward and channeling the Force attack through her curved lightsaber.

She attempted to direct the current of lightning into the plasma-blade of her weapon and out the tip - aiming to bypass the thick chitin of the Tanker and force potent electricity through the rest of vulnerable body.

Vahliri runs after the Tanker Kilik, using the distraction of Bast/Bryce to scale its back. She attempts to grasp her lightsaber and use Force Channel - channeling Lightning through the blade and into the Tanker's body.

Glad that the Sith was coming with him, Quin would cross over with him to the side where the fighting was to hopefully help with the Tanker Killik. But as he got closer, he realized that the bug was a lot bigger than he’d expected. There were already others engaging it, but though it was angered, so far it was still fully alive and kicking.

Then he saw one of the Sith jump onto its back, attempting to aim lightning down at its body. With how much it was moving, he assumed that it would be difficult for her to hold on while concentrating that much power, so he would try to make it a little easier.

Extending his hands and channeling the Force between him and the creature, he would try to hold it still as best as he could. He wouldn’t be able to hold it for long if it worked, but it was worth a try. Sith lightning was a force to be reckoned with and if it would help to stop the Killik, then it was worth the effort.

Quin attempts to hold the Tanker Killik in place with the Force so that it doesn't move as much for Vahliri's attack

Caerllion moved with the Jedi toward the Tanker Killik. Like the other bugs, the creature was bizarre and repulsive. The Acolyte wondered if there was any possibility of them killing that thing. All the effort that he did so far was tiring him. Bringing down such a monster was going to be difficult.

Thankfully, it wasn’t going to be only him and the Jedi dealing with this creature. There were others fighting against the Killik. Now the two would only need to give support and maybe they had a chance to win this.

The Acolyte saw the Jedi use the Force to immobilize the Killik, seeking to maintain it immobilized so the other Sith would be able to attack it. Seeing that it was also an opportunity for him, Caerllion made a ball of Korriban magick. This time it was larger than the others that he had made early in the fight.

He would throw it at the Killik’s front. If the collision happened, the ball would explode like a grenade and cause some damage. Hopefully it would be enough to contribute in the attempts of stopping this thing.

Davan wasn't about to let that Killik breach the Core. He noticed ahead of everyone else and he won't let it do as it pleases. Davan must ensure that the Core is protected. Not for the hostages, but for the stability of the planet and the ISC against the Killik threat. Davan would run as fast as he can to pursue it. Once he would have a clear, straight line of fire at the Killik, he would fire shots three of his Charric pistol. They would be steady, slow, well aimed paced shots towards it's center of mass.

If the hostages happen to get hit, that is fine. But not even a single Killik should breach the facility. All it takes is a single one of them to ruin everything.

Wayson saw the last of the Killik's run away. The Jedi could see the blue-skinned alien chase after it and joined him. He was hurt but the Jedi still had the Force and moved as fast as his injured legs could allow him. Being just a few steps behind @Grerse'dava'nlon , he would see the blue skin alien and the Killik with what little energy he has left to channel the Force to reach out to grip the Killik to hold it in place while the alien shot at it.

This was not going to end in disaster, no matter how tired and injured the Jedi was he wouldn't allow the world to burn. Not after these creatures took these kids hostage.

If the Killik dies the Jedi would turn around and prepare to continue to fight.

Damn those Joiners were annoying. Drow cursed himself for how long it took him to be rid of the three of them - a few years ago and he would have been able to mop the floor with them in about four seconds and they certainly wouldn't have gotten the drop on him either. He wasn't sure if he could blame his old age or the massive amounts of distractions on the battlefield right now but he hoped it was the latter. That said, there was no time to dwell on it - having taken the time to aim, he unloaded a few five-round repeater bursts at the Tanker Killik, trying to avoid hitting others where he could.

[ @The Good Doctor @Richie B. ]

@Grerse'dava'nlon and @Wayson Hanson ran off in pursuit of the last remaining Killik, each of them hoping to prevent the bug from doing any more damage to the facility. They would find it in the midst of the recused kids, gripping one of them by the throat. Several kids lay dead nearby, many of them cowered against the walls of the room, and many of them were whimpering, crying, or otherwise expressing their terror.

Wayson spent his last bit of energy holding the murderous bug in place while Davan unloaded a series of shots into its back. They tore through its back and out through the front, also striking the asphyxiated kid in the process. As soon as Wayson released his hold, both it and the kid would fall limp to the ground, and many of the remaining kids would look on with horror.

@Varyn Atrix, rather than going forward to engage the beast, made his move from afar. A barrier of Force formed between the Tanker Killik, @Bast Emblai, and @Bryce Callaway, shielding Bast from a deadly dose of back-melting acid. However, as she continued forward to get Bryce out of safety, the toe of her boot would get caught on a stubborn piece of rubble and cause the both of them to fall forward onto the ground. Bryce would be deposited a bit further than Bast as he acquired a few more bruises in his forward tumble, but the Sector Ranger would fall flat on her face. Bast would soon find that not only had just tripped but her foot was firmly lodged between the ground and a protruding piece of rubble. She was stuck.

The acid was deflected toward the ground, as Varyn hoped, but the liquid didn't instantly burn into the ground. The small amount of time needed for it to corrode the duracrete streets allowed it to pool just enough to splash when more came crashing down. One of these splashes reached Bast's boots and burned completely through the layers of fabric and flesh all the way down to the bone.

Meanwhile, @Vahliri Kahtal made her dash toward the screaming insectoid. Her sprint allowed her to make it there quickly, and the Force allowed her to leap up onto its abdomen without a problem. The trouble began when the creature felt something running along its back - Vahliri, to be exact. The Tanker Killik was not distracted by Bast or Bryce; it was distracted by the pain of the lodged saber, and though it had begun spraying acid as a reaction to the pain, its attention was solely on the area around its back. An area the Sith champion now occupied.

As soon as it felt the champion's running steps on its back, the Tanker Killik pulled its legs in and rolled toward the crashed Firespray. Vahliri, with her hands on the hilt of her lodged saber, had two options: one, stay, continue her attack, and get crushed under the body of the creature, or two, let go, jump away, and avoid death by something much quicker than une peine forte et dure.

@Quin Leonkri, though he attempted to hold the creature still, would find himself unable to do so to an effective degree. He would feel an incredible resistance to the attempted stasis, then a break from the Force as the Tanker Killik fell through it. Perhaps if it had been the beginning of the battle he would've been more effective, but the wretched creature was far too strong and heavy of a target for the padawan to keep still.

As the Tanker Killik rolled to the side, a blast of Korriban magick sent by @Caerllion of Cyfnos would graze the bug's now-exposed underside and explode into a concussive wave. @Drow Venn's shots would bury themselves into its underside soon after, causing ichor to spurt out onto the city streets. Thinking it was being attacked by a close assailant - rather than one several (or almost 100) meters away - the Tanker Killik lashed out with its largest appendage, swiping it across the ground to catch the one responsible. Rather than hit Caerllion though, someone else would take the blow instead.

Bast. The heavy, club-like appendance would slam into her side and force her along with the swipe. The impact would immediately break her ribs, and the broken bones would pierce her lungs. At the apex of the swing, she would be sent flying away from the fight and onto the street to spend her last few minutes internally bleeding out.

The tanker Killik had come so close. Too close. Too fast. The Captain was too preoccupied to notice the acid that had narrowly avoided her, kindly directed away. She was not necessarily weak, but Callaway was heavy and she could feel her legs growing tired. Something snagged her foot and the sheer momentum of her escape carried her over. Barely pausing, The Corellian tried to push herself up. A sharp pain shot through her ankle. Looking back, it appeared a piece of debris had trapped the woman’s leg. Craning her neck, she tried to look for Bryce. Was he alright? It had been a hard fall.

The acid struck its purchase. Bast hissed with pain, the hiss turning into a scream as the acid burned through her boot and gnawed at her bone. The killik had lost interest. She was not a worthy challenger anymore. She was not anything. Just another casualty. Not a casualty in critical condition either. She could play dead to avoid further injury. Not that the Killiks would care. There was only one objective for the insects, and another body, alive or dead, could not stop them now.

Bast looked up again. Something warm trickled from her nose and mingled with the tears of pain that streaked her face. She felt her nose. It was numb. Her leg began to feel numb too, almost weightless. Occasionally another wave of agony would come and all she could do was try not to vomit. Where was everyone? Would someone else get Bryce? She was getting a bit cold, just lying there…

Brute force struck the Captain. The world spun briefly and she was falling. Then she wasn’t anymore, but the woman held no memory of landing

She wheezed. Her head throbbed. The pain was back and she… and she… kark she was tired. But it felt like she was choking on something. Bast coughed, her ribs slowly collapsing more. She could not think, only experience. Experience the screams and the screeching bolts. Experience the taste of iron in her mouth. Experience the still air. The hazel eyes glazed over.

Varyn could almost sense the battle slipping away from them as another of their allies was downed. He watched as the acid chewed through her and only a moment later, the creature's blind flailing struck the very woman he had just been trying to protect.

A waste. All his efforts had been a waste. He should have simply attacked the creature and pushed to finish it off. To fully assist Vahliri because ultimately, despite his efforts, she was dead anyway. The realization - his failure - made rage well up in him. A blind, gripping rage that accompanied utter helplessness.

Kriff! he screamed, though in the chaos of the battlefield, no one was even likely to hear it.

Instead, he channeled that anger and rage, letting it fuel his connection to the Force as his eyes turned hatefully on their final adversary. He let all that rage and hatred flow into the Force... no, he thrust it into the Force. He forced it upon that which flowed around him, projecting it in physical form toward the creature. At first, it was almost unaimed, but after a moment, he allowed it to center on the injury that @Drow Venn and @Caerllion of Cyfnos had just made, hoping to bypass the creature's armor and scorch its innards.

He could feel the burning in his hand, his own lightning tearing along his hand, but he almost didn't notice the pain. So long as the creature died as well that was all that mattered. Varyn had spent enough of his life being helpless, he'd watched too many people he loved and cared for die from before his days as a Jedi to now. He was sick of it. Sick of it.

Varyn took the advice in the gif and is hitting the creature with lightning in its damaged belly to hopefully bypass its armor. Also, Varyn's hand is getting a bit burned because he's never used lightning before.
