Personality Bubbly, adventurous and ambitious; she seems to contain bountiful amounts of energy, even when she's tired and is typically described for her logical problem solving mind and resourceful imagination when working with things she has a passion for. Shes also not shy when it comes to a new face or making friends (depending on the intimidation of the person), though she appears to favor humans when it comes to socializing - likely due to the familiarity of her family. Avoids violence and aggression outright, preferring things remain pleasant. When sufficiently intimidated, becomes 'uncomfortable' and quiet. Has a tenancy to act younger than she is; perhaps due to losing most of her childhood to the various ailments in her life. Quirks Has a preferance for humans and can even be distrusting of 'aliens' - including Twi'leks. Tends to act younger than she is and enjoys interior monologue - likely due to her time spent alone. Most of her weaknesses stem from inexperience, naivety and a lack of confidence. Fairly niave or prefers to ignore truths if she can get away with it, especially if its distressing or sad. Quick Study on new or interesting things. Prefers to use non-violent methods before resorting to escape; failing that, she might be cornered enough to fight. Relationships Father: Last of her family, she doesn't like talking about him - though she writes frequently to him. Mark Carleec is an alcoholic after his wife died. Reikan Zarlenak: Bounty Hunter she met in Tatooine, got her in a mess of trouble to do with a bank robbery or something. She lost contact with him when they had to split up to evade authorities. Shin'ra: Met her on Tatooine, something about the Force and smearing blood on her to track her? Kind of unsettling. Met her again during the Heist, which explained a few things. Lost contact with her. Lanya Lain: One of the main participants of the Heist; had the most contact with Joy and helped her do her job as an 'innocent' Scout. Lost contact with him after the Heist was broken up, which is a shame because he was cool. Bahati Rehn: Whether she wanted to or not, became an important person in Joy's recent history. Meeting during the Heist, before escaping with her after its culmination. Learnt how to better stockpile food and use less ingredients when cooking. Oh and the whole mechanics thing, which she's thankful for. Likely owes Bahati quite a bit. Joy hasn't contacted her for a while, so hopefully she's okay - since she was like a big sister. Jake Paxson: Mutually saved one another from being slaves on Tatooine with no further contact after that. Biography Estimated to be Born 1,009 ABY, on the planet Roon in the outer rim systems, from what little information can be gathered from her clothes, baby belongings and genetics. She was most likely to of been from a family of spice smuggling Twi'leks; using the Death Wind Corridor hyperspace route to do their runs, when something occurred to their vessel. These problems could've ranged anywhere between involving the asteroids encircling the planet or pirates attacking the ship and beyond. In any case, wreckage of a ship was quickly claimed and salvaged by the locals, while two destroyed escape pods (one empty) and a third surviving pod were found in the Tatoonie desert. Despite the trauma, her father managed to trek several miles in the desert before collapsing at the doorstep of a farmer. While the human who opened the door was kind enough to tend to the needs of the two, without sufficient medical attention the Father passed away in his sleep. Mark Carleec now found himself with a baby alien and only knew the mutterings of a near-dead man. He felt somewhat responsible for the child's situation, having been unable to help her blood further and knowing that places that would accept such a child would eventually turn her to prostitution or worse, he decided to become her adopted father. This was not without ulterior motive - since his wife desired a child while he did not. It was hopes that the new arrival might help mend their strained marriage. She was named "Joy" in 1,010 ABY by the new adoptive parents. And though for a time they appeared satisfied with the girl, it wouldn't always seem so. Underlying problems between man and wife was not so easily dusted under the carpet. Despite this, Joy grew up happy and as a bit of a tomboy, helping her dad maintain the moisture farm and other mechanical objects with his guidance while assisting her mother with chores around the house. She bonded more with her father, than her mother - going out shooting, on errands and learning the majority of her skills from him. By ABY 1,016, Susan Carleec's health began to decline and Joy took over the majority of her routine over the next few months. On the income of a Farmer, however. There was little that could be done. She passed away a year later under medication, so it was made more peaceful than it would otherwise be. Her Father from then on would suffer from mood swings; requiring Joy to anchor them into positives for the remainder of her years at the farm. Despite the hardship she had experienced and the helplessness, her time working alongside her mother had helped her keep a positive outlook despite the darkness. And this remained with her, but everyone has a limit. By the age of 14, ABY 1,023, she and her Father's relationship was strained (perhaps in part due to her teenage years) and she announced her intention to leave and make some real money for the family, doing something she can enjoy. Not to mention learn more about her origins. Her parents. Though he didn't approve, he made no effort to stop her and she promised to write to him often. Then after packing her things, she left. Distinguishing Features Abnormally girthy / large Lekku for her gender and age. Eyebrows are Tattooed on for a more human appearance. The bases to midsection of Tchun-Tchin are both Tattooed with lighter blue bands, whereas the tiger-stripes and tipped ends are actually natural. Lips and Blush appears to follow a lighter hue of her skin tone. Roleplay Development Having left home, she has since been rather freelance in her actions; going from Mercenary-style non-combat jobs, to a local mechanic's assistant, to TEF Apprentice. Even having visited another planet for the first time! She learnt space travel is cold. Shes managed to build up a nice stockpile of credits, which allows her a little freedom choosing where to head to next. After an encounter in the Pyrshak system with Mila Fay, she was 'recruited' to the Sith.
Abilities Joy is adept with Computers, Mechanics and more advanced machinery (limited to ground vehicles and starships), thanks to being taught the ins and outs by the TEF and from a barely-functional smuggler vessel and its Captain. She finds it easy to apply concepts she knows to new devices she studies. Logical thinking and problem solving come easy to her. Has little to no combat Experience other than shooting a long barrel rifle at cans. Knows how to survive in the desert for a limited time with few resources. Can pick up new languages easily; however only knows Ryl and Lekku from basic studies, is likely not very good with either without further tutelage. Joy isn't completely aware of it; but her sensitivity to the Force may explain some of her occasional spouts of 'luck' or natural ability in some skills. | Joy Carleec Lovable Rogue
