At the end of the day, Jan was really tired from all the Force usage, but he was eager to continue learning the Dark Ways of the Force. He spoke, I'd like to have my own lightsaber. And I'd like to learn to fight with it proficiently. Jan looked at his master, breathing deeply.

Katarn nodded. "Very well, visit the armorer and request your weapon. We shall spar tomorrow."

Jan became a little confused. Pick it up from the armory? Wasn't I supposed to make it myself? He asked Katarn.

((sorry, I've been rping a fully stocked armory cause it seemed to make more sense to me as the bogan seem to be more of a military organization than jedi who are supposed to be trained as ambassadors.))

"Well I suppose you could build it yourself," Katarn thought to herself. "Personally I just got my blade from the armory. There's enough blades there to supply one to every member of the order, make it very convenient when you lose a blade on a mission."

((Oh I see.))

Jan nodded. I shall pick up my lightsaber from the armory and we shall spar tomorrow then. Good night. He said and left the room.

At the armory, Jan picked one of the standard lightsabers, multiple small power cells to create a scalloped handgrip. Nice... He smiled, put it under his belt and went to his room.

Next morning, he was back at Katarn's room, ready to learn lightsaber combat. He opened the door and spoke, Good morning, master.

"Morning," Katarn yawned. "Sorry, I was up late sparring with Kel, he just will not accept that I can beat him in combat. Anyways, have you decided upon your Lightsaber technique yet?"

Jan thought about it. I'd like to use Form II: Makashi... It seems most suitable for combat. Perhaps I should have picked a curved lightsaber then... He dozed off for a minute. Anyways, will you be able to teach me Makashi?

((dooku only used the curved blade to throw people off, its not even remotely necessary for makashi))

"Certainly." Katarn raised her blade and held it in front of her as part of the opening move of Makashi. "Makashi is about dueling. It is great against other lightsabers, but weak against blaster fire I would advise after this you learn a bit of Shii-Cho to balance yourself out."

((off screen training manatage?))

((Shit, I hate training blades on screen, but my rule is I yield to the padawan so))

Katarn drew her whip from her side and discarded it. Drawing her blade with her left hand she positioned her body so that it was a female mirror to Jan's own. "Now follow what I do."

Katarn switched to the opening stance for makashi before springing forward blade extended as if to pierce. Her spring ended 2 meters away from the padawan. "Makashi is mostly parrying and thrusting. What I just did is a thrust." Katarn spun her blade in a strange fashion. "And that is a parry. I'm going to thrust again, and you try to parry my thrust."

((:CSly:CSly:CSly))

Ok. Jan nodded and concentrated on his master. As soon as she attacked, he spun his lightsaber and parried the thrust, keeping the saberlock. Sweet, I did it. Jan said, with a barely visible smile.

"Now are you ready for a full sparring session or do you wish to practice a little more?" Katarn asked.

I feel that I should probably practice this a bit more. Jan said and gripped his lightsaber tighter.

Jan nodded and once again took a defensive stance. He managed to successfully block all the thrusts from his master, resulting in him getting tired. But it didn't matter to the young Acolyte, all he wished was to continue learning. Okay... I think I'm ready.

Katarn nodded. Suddenly her whip was in her hand and already lashing out towards his upper left leg as she also sent a wave of lightning across the ground.

Jan immediately activated his lightsaber and used Force Jump to fly towards his master, making a strong thrust aimed at her head.

Katarn sprang forward, spinning around to hit the apprentice when he landed. She also sent lightning along the ground so if the apprentice landed he would be electrocuted.
