Ok, this idea was presented to me by someone, and I thought it was a good one. How about a group training session? Two or more Acolytes learning from a Holocron together, or going out and testing themselves against some beasties.

It'd be a Training thread, obviously, and does not require a Master, simply Acolytes wishing to grow in strength.

Also, numbers don't really matter, though i think about four or five should be max, just to keep it moving without waiting on too many people.

If anyone is up for it, post here and let me know your ideas! I personally want to be trained in Tutaminis, Telekinesis, and Lightsaber/Hand-to-Hand combat. If anyone has anything else they wish to learn while we go, like I said, post it and we'll see what we can do! We still have to follow the rules of the site, after all.

Sweet, that was quick! I'mma wait and see how many people want to pop in before we start, though, if that's ok? If not, we can start whenever you want.

I am in, my character only knows Force Push and uses a crude Vaapad lightsaber style.

Lets give them 2 days. That should be enough time. You can post the thread after 2 days although if you want me to do it I am fine with that.

First of all, I do not have any authority. However, I am pretty sure Tutamis is a restricted power for acolytes. Also, acolytes training acolytes is not a good idea. Acolytes aren't Crusaders for a reason, they are still learning. Why would you want to learn something from someone who is at the same skill level as you?

The holocron idea is cool though, I'd throw Kaata into that.

You can still get the basics out of the way, and then learn the rest by training yourself or from other sources. Besides, waiting on a Master or Crusader can sometimes take forever, so why wait forever when you can work with someone and learn it together?

Anyway, we can adapt if it's a problem. We can do the Holocron idea to keep from stepping on toes, and Kes can help the us learn, kind of like the straight A student among an average class of kids.

If that would be a good happy medium?

Since there seems to be an abundance of new Acolytes with no one to train them, I might hold some new classes with my Crusader. What is everyone interested in learning?

For the record, Tutaminis is not a restricted power for Acolytes. However, it is not at all that easy to learn for Acolytes and would definitely require either extensive study from a holocron or quite a bit of training from a higher ranking instructor in the matter. Also, Acolytes can only use a very low down scale of power with Tutaminis, so I wouldn't recommend trying to catch blaster bolts or lightsabers with your hands any time soon.

While Acolytes training together to learn something new can take quite a bit of time and dedication before it pays off, that doesn't mean it's not allowed. The most effective group training for Acolytes is for anything they already know, though.

Cheers!

Awesome! I'd love for Kaata to learn Tutamis.

Malice, will your Crusader teach Kaata and maybe the others that?

I still have my earlier entry about Telekinesis, Tutaminis, and Lightsaber/Hand-to-Hand combat. I am glad to hear Tutaminis is not restricted completely, as that would be quite the disappointment for me. I understand the weakness of it until rank is increased, however.

Malice, if you'd be as so kind as to train us in Tutaminis or what everyone agrees on, it'd be appreciated. We can still have the Holocron training as a separate thing, as well, if that's what someone would like to see. I personally would enjoy the seperate training threads, one for Tutaminis, the other for Telekinesis or combat. What do you all think?

Separate classes works for me. If we go down that route Kaata will only take part in the Tutamis one, because he already knows the basics of the other Force Powers. I'd perfer the Tutamis one being taught by Malice's Crusader but I'll go with whatever is easiest for everyone else.

I would like to learn repulse and lightning if possible. I know in SWTOR lightning can be used at level 2 if that means anything.

Besides that I would like to learn everything mentioned.

I think that group classes with things our Acolytes already know would be best, and if you want your Crusader to teach a class for Turaminis, that would get a lot of attention. I think that a force-oriented class for everything piled into one class would be best.

Maybe theme the class- like a big camping trip into the wilderness or something where everyone needs to use specific force techniques to survive...
What some Acolytes don't know, others can teach them.

Ex: needing force leap to cross a small canyon; telekinesis to lift large rocks out of path; etc.

That is actually a very tantalizing idea, Flamjet

And sadly, the best Acolytes can get to Force Lightning, I think, is running their feet across some carpet and touching someone next to them. I want to learn it, too, but rules are rules, yea?

Well. Someone (I think fang.) was teaching the lowest form of force lightning: force spark. It's basically a shock, but more of a non utilizable form until you rank up to crusader where you can learn force lightning much easier and without hurting yourself when you do.. Basically a stepping stone.

Though, I think that Turaminis is much more important either way.
