Which of u guys think should really have the name Football. The American football game with the round pointed edges football of the kicking football black and white checkered game.

Well...I think that the game where you're meant to kick it and not touch it with your hands (soccer) should be football. I think American football is a bit of a waste of time, and a total ripoff of rugby which is a lot better.

I agree what ur saying but I would still go with American FB because it's just badass :CHappy:

So rather than use common sense and logic you go for what you think is "badass", when it's actually just a ripoff oif Rugby, but with helmets.

Er...that sounds like a bit of a lie considering you won't even be applying for college for some time yet.

The reason American football is called football is because when it was first played there wasn't any passing. The ball was simply run. So they called it football because you run with your feet and you were carrying the ball. When a coach first called a pass play there was alot of controversy over it, saying that is was against the rules and such but they found there were no regs against it so all the teams adopted passing plays to form what we have today as American Football, oh and FTR, I though it was Football for American football and Futbal for soccer.

Oh, and as for the brits saying Football is a Ripoff of rugby, yeah it is....Baseball is also a ripoff of Cricket and we definitly improved on that one.

No the reason American Football is called football is because it's an adaptation of "Rugby Football".

And as for "Futbal", you thought wrong.

Oh and I dislike Cricket, but Baseball is actually a ripoff of rounders, which is quite fun.
