Which of u guys think should really have the name Football. The American football game with the round pointed edges football of the kicking football black and white checkered game.
American football is the only place where "football" does not refer to soccer. AF is pretty much a toned down version of Rugby, so I thing "Football" should only refer to soccer.
but the NFL season is probably the most enjoyable 20 weeks of the year for me.
Giving the name of 'football' to American football would be unfair. 'Soccer' was the original 'football', and between the two sports, 'soccer' is the older one and the one played all around the world.
It's also, you know, played by kicking the ball with your feet, unlike American football.

A very good point. Although American football does include that, ftr.
I understand that; but in the US real football is not as popular as American Football. I guess that is why the name change in the states.Giving the name of 'football' to American football would be unfair. Yeah, but it's only a small part of the game. Most of the time they're either running into each other like idiots or taking a break.
Rugby is very entertaining, sometimes it is on really late on ESPN 2.I find American Football painfully boring to watch. It's like rugby, but lamer and much, much slower paced.

I don't think there will ever be an common ground in this argument. Americans like their football, the rest of the world likes their football.
See, that's because Americans are idiots. :CHappy:
Anti-Americanism is so cool. I could go on any country in the world, and I can easily start conversations just by saying "America sucks".
True story.
