[Ru the Boatswain]

"I'm in the far end of the base, closer to mess hall." She thought about his first statement that she now laughed at. Some nearby turned their heads. "So I -heh- take it you aren't very geed at controlling yourself on-leave.

 

[Niner]

"No, it wasn't my fault, you see there was this wookie, and he said he could beat me at a game of darts. Well, I beat him and he came at me with a chair, I knocked him out cold and then I got thrown out. So, yeah, your probably right."

He gave a slight smile, "But who hasn't got kicked out of a couple of bars? So what do you do on base, are you enlisted?"

 

[Ru the Boatswain]

"Im a private, snipers 3rd. We make the kills that count." She sang off the motto in a rehearsed manner. She'd always said it every morning before training and after as directed by their seinor officer. "What are you in?"

 

[Niner]

Jason smiled when he heard that, "Sergeant, Snipers 4th, you can run, but you'll die tired." He raised his right sleeve to show the tatoo with the saying on it.
"I've heard that the 3rd is pretty good. I bet you've never even heard of the fourth, and there is a good reason for that too."

 

[Ru the Boatswain]

"I'm sure...I don't think you guys area secret. So how long do you have off?" She expected him to have more than here time which was not little more over two hours. Enlisted usually had longer off.

He smiled at her, "Well, obviously you don't know the Fourth very well if you refer to it as guys in the plural, so far it's just me. And as for how long I have off," He looked down at his wrist chrono, "My leave ended about and hour ago." He then picked up his drink and started sipping it.

 

[Ru the Boatswain]

"Good job at being late, But you ahve no one to report to do you?" She felt a pang of sympathy for him. He had no comrades close to him. He needed a friend right now, "Here maybe we can get out of here its stuffy in here and I'm sure there are good sites up on the rooftops not far from here." She left money for her drink on the table and began towards the door, "Coming?" She left the bar and stood outside waiting for him.

 

[Niner]

HE stood up, "Yeah, I'm coming." He dug into his pocket for a credchip and flipped it backwards onto the counter, then he gulped the last of his drink and followed her out. As they started walking he asked, "So, why did you join the Republic military?"

 

[Ru the Boatswain]

"Because I can shoot. It's what I spent time doing on Corellia. Shooting birds out of the sky with friends. I do well and the republic needs its soldiers. Why did you join the republic?" She hit his sholder lightly pasing the conversation to him.

 

[Niner]

He looked down and then pulled out his wallet and took out a picture of a man and women with three little kids.
"This, this is why I joined. That was my Ma and Pa, my brother Mike and my sister Jenet. They were killed by raiders while I was off planet. All my childhood my father had trained me to be a sniper, like he was, but when they needed me most, I....I wasn't there. If...if I had just been there maybe I could have stopped them." He qucikly rubbed the back of his broad hand across his eyes so she wouldn't see the tears that had started to form there.
"I swore I would get revenge on every one who kills innocents like those raiders did to my family, I figured that the Republic Military was the best way to go, and it's what my father would have wanted."

 

[Ru the Boatswain]

She could tell he had strong feelings about the loss of his family."It's alright Jason,"She put her arm around his sholder and gave a light hug."Your here on coruscant. A beautiful planet."

 

[Niner]

"Yeah, he looked around at the lights shining on the buildings, you couldn't even see the sky because of all the lights. It is beautiful," He looked at her, "everything is."
