KRASSGATE SCANDAL GROWS

DESPOT SILENCES OPPONENTS WITH SHAM TRIAL​

Justice seems once more a distant memory, as the bid to silence Senator Krass' (@Prudence) opposition continues. Whilst crowds of protesters grow daily outside the holding area being used to detain local business owner, Lars Warren (@Breeso), the Senator for Corellia, Director Aren Krass has called for a trial for the man, as well as restricting press access. In yet another display of gross misconduct, the man underwent a psychological examination without his legal council present, which has added to growing anger that this is yet another snatch and grab operation to silence those who speak out against the Senators Tyrannical Rule.

Little has been said as to how Mr. Warren will be able to fund the case himself, against the multi-trillion credit fortune of the Krass Dynasty, however the campaign to see Mr. Warren set free has suggested that they may launch a donations bid if the unlawful trial was to go ahead. Senator Krass, who himself has been subject to allegations of corruption, abuse of power, inciting violence, and mass murder (through his control of CorSec) will today further add to the claims, with the addition of nepotism, as his own daughter takes to the stand to represent make the prosecution.

Whilst Senator Krass himself faces a potential hearing from the Senate, he has done little today to dismiss rumors of abuse of power and corruption. Senator Krass offered a statement to CNN today, in which he sent his condolences out to six of the dozen officers slain as they executed a massacre in a violent and barbarous police raid on a private establishment, without a warrant, earlier this week, before adding that the Krass Dynasty, and several other members of the Directorate of Corellia will be making a personal donation to support one of the Officers families.

Claiming that Corellia - a planet which is treated as the personal playground of the Krass Dynasty - holds ''holds freedom and democracy in very high regard'' before dismissing the press allegations that he has abused his power, and position, for personal gain and the gain of his friends, the Senator did not comment on the accusations that his raid was unlawful, and meant to silence those who spoke out against his rule. The legal representative (@Outlander) for Mr. Warren however dismissed the legitimacy of the charges against his client saying:

"My client not only maintains his innocence in the face of both the overwhelming misconduct on the side of Corellian Security and the Corellian Department of Justice, but condemns the actions of Senator Aren Krass and his actions surrounding the massacre of bar patrons at Mr. Warrens establishment."

With the system on Corellia so heavily geared toward the centralization of power around the Krass Dynasty, it seems unlikely that Mr. Warren will see justice, when facing down the Tyrant, who has almost limitless wealth, and almost complete control over the once proud and free world of Corellia. The response to the 'Save Lars' campaign and protest movement however, has not gone unnoticed by CNN, and today, in a shock move, CEO and Chairman, Voren Makr of the Czerka Corporation pledged to 'personally meet the legal costs of Mr. Warren, not out of support for the mans case, but out of a desire to see justice done.'

The Czerka Corporation has announced it will not be contributing to the costs of Mr. Warrens legal case, and that the decision for Mr. Makr to do so is entirely his own.

Kuat and Czerka to enter historic negotiations​

A BRIGHTER FUTURE

Corellian Director, Aren Krass, pledges sweeping reforms!​

Following a vast scandal around allegations of dictatorial behavior and corruption, Senator Krass (@Prudence) has promised vast reform. In a shock move that has promoted celebrations in their multitudes, the Senator met with Czerka CEO & Chairman Voren Makr in a meeting that has yet to be disclosed to the public. Since the meeting, the Senator has donated a vast amount of his private fortune to charity, in addition to pledging reforms that will end decades of regression across the planet.

"I am glad to announce that today, we reform Corellian Politics. Though during our times of strife the directorate model was positive and beneficial, we have reached a new era. I have heard the people calling for it, so I am happy to announce that Corellia will be returning to a traditional democracy, and will be disbanding the Directorate."​

Sepaking shortly after the meeting, the Senator published his new changes before an assembled crowd of Journalists. Members of the outgoing Directorate have not made a comment., however CEO Voren Makr described the day as ''...a great day for Democracy, Corellia, and the Republic.''

Chancellor to attend late-husbands funeral on Zeltros​

Weeks after the murder of her husband by Sith Agents, the Funeral will soon take place. With invitees inlcuding the family and friends of both groups, as well as dignitaries from many worlds, the Funeral is a secretive affair, with the Chancellor asking for privacy as the Galaxy recovers from its mounring. The Office of Chancellor Chanzot (@Beta12) was not available for comment.

Senator Krass Confirms Corruption

''I already profit with every ship that the Border Alliance purchases from CEC.''​

In a breach of Senate conduct, Senator Aren Krass has spoken out to confirm the recent spate of corruption charges. In a live session of the Senate, the Corellian Senator confirmed that he would stand to gain from a War, saying ''I already profit with every ship that the Border Alliance purchases from CEC.'' mere moment after confirming that he owned stock in the Company. that manufactures those vessels.

CNN will be reaching out to Senator Krass (@Prudence) and others to come forward about the statement, and asks if Senator Krass will be reisgning after publically admitting that he personally profits from the bills he has put forward to the Senate.

I have never witnessed such an outburst before.​

Speaking to CNN today, the Senator for Chandrila (@fyremage) has scorned the actions of his Corellian Counterpart. Stating that he was "Unsure of what to make of it.", the Senator went on to say that he agreed that other companies would benefit from the passing of the bill, and the formation of an army - but did not offer comment on the flagrant conflicts of interests that the Senator for Corellia has admitted to.

Despite selling 75% of his holdings in the CEC, after the bill was discussed, which could be grounds for insider trading either through intention to pass legislation from which he would financially benefit, or from assisting in the shorting of stock, Senator Krass now faces several calls for his financial transparency, especially given that Senator Palliser of Kuat (@The Star of Chaos) chose to abstain from the bill, most likely due to her own connections with KDY, a company that stood to gain from the formation of an Army.

The Czerka Corporation Chairman & CEO, Voren Makr spoke out as well today, on allegations that he stood to gain from the passing of a bill stating: ''I'm not an elected representative of the people, so holding shares in a company is fine, as I do not get to vote on laws that would profit that company.'' before returning to his daily duties.

Sales of Alderaanian Silk Suits have also risen in response to the Senators comments in their quality.

Religious Fanatics Tear Apart Bar​

In a display of religious fanaticism, members of the Jedi Order have been spotted ripping apart of a private drinking house. The session of violence took place only recently, and saw several Jedi (@Vosrik @Bauren @Arclight @Ferre) partake in a spate of violence which left many wounded, and caused thousands of credits of property damage.

After ripping the bar to shreds, the suspected Jedi then made off with the contents, selling it at the local market place in a display of wanted thievery. A spokesman from the Bar in question described the attack as ''Life Changing, I have lost everything to these thugs!''.

The Galaxy and you.​

Are you aware of the current threat that is posed to you? Do you know that there is a galaxy spanning organisation that says that it is for the greater good of us all? But do you know that any and all of this organisations agents can potentially break all their oaths to maintain peace and seek nothing but the destruction of all those that oppose them?

Czerka News Network poses this to you, the reader, the great hypocrisy of the Jedi. But this brotherhood of peacekeepers is still allowed to assemble and organise? Is privy to matters of state? How can we, the people, allow the Republic to lay on a crutch that can be so swiftly taken out from underneath us. Has the previous years of conflict been abandoned so swiftly. A peace may have been brokered with the Sith Empire, but surely it is in the best interest of all civilized and democratic beings, that value their lives and rights, to ensure that this is kept?

Then why do we allow these beings of inconceivable power to do as they will, what if their Will changes? From the annals of our own history, we have cases of this, what is going to stop History repeating itself? We have many reports of 'rogue' Jedi banding with Pirates, there weapons being weilded to create profit. What of the Empire on the other side of the Border Region? We have no envoys that have access to the Temples of the Sith? What are they training to do, maybe to convert our Republic loyal Jedi?

We advise all readers to show caution, when near anyone armed with a lightsaber. They may appear to be a Jedi, but who knows, they might be a Sith Sympathizer?

Jedi Massacre - The Case Develops​

Following the recent reports of a Jedi attack on a local community, locals have spoken out against the barbarity. With vast amounts of the popular beverage known as 'Halmand Prime' being taken by the Jedi (@Ferre) locals are struggling to make a living, with what was seen as the bedrock of the local economy. As the Jedi gave out the stolen goods for free, it now transpires, what will happen when the goods dry up, and a desolate economy is left to pick up the pieces? A local businessman spoke out:

"Hurt my economy is what they did. Now what am I going to do with all this Halmad Premium? Town gettin' by just fine without that fancy liquor. See for yourself- now everyone's a pop-up-shop bartender. Selling it themselves just as soon as them Jedi gave it out."

However, not all see it as bad, with one local, who described himself as a 'big fan' of the Jedi amnd is a member of the 'Revolution Against the Nation' movement, stated that:

''It is good to finally see someone caring about the innocent, hard working people of this community. I thank the Jedi, I thank them for coming here, they lifted the spirits of so many people, people crushed beneath the weight of oppression that has caused so much pain in our Society.''

Czerka Announces Halt to Corellia Expansion
​

After months of planning, the Czerka Corporation has today announced it is halting future expansion on Corellia. In a move that it said comes after a period of political instability, on a planet that 'works against business and its own people' the Company said that it would maintain its MagLev operations, but be moving all future operations off-world. The Company had planned on opening entertainment complexes, a Financial Services Group and numerous retail and manufacturing areas on the planet.

The move comes as a suprise to many, with the CEO & Chairman of Czerka saying in a statement this morning:

''It is of deep regret to us that we must move our future expansion to another, more accommodating and libertarian planet. Corellia, once a proud place of commerce and industry, has abandoned its past, preserving the Old Elite instead of advancing new business. Our Operations on Kuat, Gyndine and others will now take precedence.''​

Markets have toppled on Corellia following the news, with shares in the manufacturing sector in nosedive, and basic commodities suffering considerably over fears that the company could shut down the logistical network it operates over the Planet. Czerka has announced that the shift in strategy will have no impact on its bottom line, as it had yet to commit any additional resources to the expansion plans.

Objection?​

A noted and famed practitioner of the Law has died mid hearing today. Passing away whilst crying ''Away Specter!'' before an awestruck gallery and Jury, the unnamed Lawyer was representing Mr. Lars Warren (@Breeso) in a case that has attracted a great deal of attention. One member of the gallery said that it had ''livened up the legal process considerably'' with another saying that it should be made ''illegal to die in court, as it makes the whole process seem ridiculous''.

Several major TV stations have already announced they will be looking into making it a sitcom.

Shock! Gos Kumbarr Divorces Self!​

In an episode that left fans reeling, Gos Kumbarr, star of 'Real Housewives of Hutta' has announced she is divorcing herself. Coming several days after rumors began to spread that the hermaphrodite Hutt was somewhat low on cash, many are seeing the move as financial, whilst others are taking to social media to express their support for the Star.

Speaking earlier today, Gos said ''I would like to thank my fans for sticking with the real me, as I go though this process of self-divorce''. The star could make upward of 3 billion credits due to a change in her contract which states that she would be financial covered for a split in her estate as a result of a divorce with one of her co-stars.

Her lawyer, from the famed divorce Firm 'Dicher, Quick & Hyde' said that this was a ''Tragic case, in which a humanocentric agency will soon learn that is needs to respect and consider the marital cultures of other races''. Here at CNN, we are all a bit confused.

Market Turmoil Continues!​

Stock Markets continue to reel after weeks of hardship, with the Corellian Economy teetering on the brink of collapse. Following a week which saw trillions of credits worth of Corellian Engineering Corporation (CEC) and KrassTech (KRT) stock sold en masse, the ticket price of the two companies has nosedived as investors confidence was shaken by the sell-off.

Followed up by the Czerka Corporation (CZC) announcing that it would be halting its operations on the planet due to its political environment, business have left the system for friendlier waters, leaving funds bereft of options, shorting shares to save face. Commodity values continue to climb, as investors rush to Chromium and Bronzium that tradition failsafe options for investment.

Czerka, which is rumored to be seeking to expand to Muunilist to grow its presence in the financial sector beyond its current banking arm, has reached out to the Government of Corellia (@Prudence) in an effort to facilitate a bonds and loans program to aid the economy. Shares in the Kuat Drive Yard (KDY) (@The Star of Chaos) have increased on rumors of the hardship of the CEC, with other companies eying up CEC stock in a bid to diversify.

With PriceCorp (PC) (@Vosrik and @Shalken) having been denied additional stations across Corellia, fears are high as fuel prices soar, with many worrying that the vital MagLev operations Czerka runs on the world could be effected. Rumors persist that Czerka and PriceCorp (on of its subsidiaries) have brokered a deal to prevent this eventuality, as the Company seeks to restore balance to Corellia in this economic downturn.

Worlds across the Republic, with links to manufacturing, are facing ever more pressing calls for frugality, as the banks tighten their purse strings, with Muunilistian Banks lending at a lower rate than ever before to worlds tied to the CEC. Kuat has shown remarkable resiliance, due to its unique economic model, whilst some of the poorer worlds on the fringes are expected to suffer the most if the Czerka Bailout plan on Corellia doesn't get accepted.

Interview: Senator Rhone​

Hello everyone! This is Rick Mantrell, CNN Field Correspondent reporting from the idyllic Lake Sa'hot just outside of Hanna City, Chandrila. I have the pleasure of speaking with the Esteemed Senator of Chandrila, Gregory Rhone, who has graciously extended his hospitality to us at his estate along the banks of the lake.

For those not familiar with Chandrillan politics, or who have trouble keeping up with galactic politics as a whole considering the numerous scandals that have recently surfaced regarding others within the Galactic Senate, it can be easy to go uninformed about other key figures and intriguing developments within the hallowed halls of the Republic Senate building. Gregory Rhone is one such key individual who has burst on the scene as of late, serving as one of the newer elected senators to represent this noble planet. And now, over the course of the next few minutes, we hope to delve a little deeper to learn more about our gracious host.

Mantrell: "Senator Rhone, thank you once again for welcoming us into your home. It truly is beautiful. How much does a home like this go for? The view alone is likely worth a lot of money for willing tourists."

Rhone: "The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Mantrell--"

Mantrell: "Oh please, call me Rick."

Rhone: "Very well Rick, heh. Well to answer your question, I actually had this house built back when i served in the district attorney's office for Hanna City, for a moderate price in all honesty. It's all paid off now, which i am thankful for now that i serve at the pleasure of the people rather than my own paycheck. But before this house was here, this land actually belonged to my father who had intended on building on it prior to his passing. So in a way, this plot was his last gift to us, and it will always be precious to me. Even though now, at this point in time, it would be worth a lot of money, to me it is of far greater value than any amount of credits that could be offered."

Mantrell: "Very interesting Senator, i had no idea how sentimental this home is to you now. Frankly i feel much more thankfully to be here now that i know. And as you know, that is why i am here. It seems you are definitively one of the newer sitting senators at this time, and as you mentioned you had previously served in the district attorney's office prior to your election. Obviously they are two very different jobs. Can you share with us some of the adjustments you have had to make?"

Rhone: "Rick, you may call me Greg as well. I hear the title Senator far too much already."

Mantrell: "Haha, fair enough."

Rhone: "And to be quite honest with you, there obviously is a definitive change in my lifestyle now that i serve within the Senate, namely my life and the those of my family being held under a microscope for all to see being the biggest adjustment. But when i was a child, my father always raised me to believe that serving one's community was the greatest honor one could have, no matter in what capacity that is. Serving in the district attorney's office helped me to acquire a finer grasp of the law and how it affects people of all backgrounds, both in a positive way, and the negative effects it can have. It helped me to appreciate that no governmental system, no matter how noble it starts out, is perfect or without problems. So when the opportunity to run for office presented itself, i felt it was my duty to take it to do my part in trying to make our Republic a better form of government, as so many of my predecessors have attempted to do in the past."

Mantrell: "That's a very noble reason to do so Greg, and I'm sure i'm not the only one to applaud you for your efforts in that regard. It must put you on edge though, when read about some of the scandals that have come to light regarding some of your peers, such as Senator Krass."

Rhone: "Unfortunately we live in a day and age wherein when an allegation is made against someone, especially someone of importance, that they are almost always assumed to be guilty of the allegations in question. That is a sad truth i learned serving as district attorney. I can speak with certainty that i have nothing to hide about my past or current actions, and frankly i welcome the scrutiny of others to validate that. That being said, if it's all the same to you i would like to restrict any comments on my part regarding the allegations facing my colleagues at that. It wouldn't be fair to them otherwise."

Mantrell: "Very well. I totally understand. Perhaps we could discuss some of the things you are involved in within the Senate. Rumor has it you are composing a bill to legitimize the border alliance. Can you give us any comments or details regarding that?"

Rhone: "It's still very much in the planning stages, and it has just gone through its first addendum and revisions. Really, i don't want to reveal too much aside from the mindset behind the bill."

Mantrell: "And what would that be?"

Rhone: "Personally, i feel that this proposed bill will accentuate what the intent of the Republic when it was first founded, namely cooperation and mutual aid. And i think as of late, we have diverted from that."

Mantrell: "Well to be fair, many critics that are against legitimizing the Border Alliance argue that if a bill to that effect were to pass, it would risk infringing upon the sovereign rights of other planets to abstain from getting involved a potential war effort, and that legitimizing them would essentially be forming an army that could risk antagonizing the Sith Brotherhood. What would you say to them?"

Rhone: "As said before, i don't want to reveal too many specifics about the bill yet until it is posed to the Senate officially, but what i would say is this: The Republic was founded on the basic principles of mutual aid and support. I totally understand what critics are saying, as we need to protect against the possibility of infringing on any planet's sovereignty needlessly and without proper cause. Yet, we also need to remember that in order for the Republic and those within it to protect planetary rights, there needs to be a Republic. And we need to defend it. We all have a responsibility to each other that transcends personal gain. A balance needs to be struck between maintaining individual sovereignty and supporting the Republic as a whole. If a balance is not struck, then what has happened on the border worlds will continue to happen, namely planets grouping up into confederations to support each other when the rest will not, because they are not in immediate danger. Such an occurance poses a greater danger to the Republic than the Sith ever have, as it brings the soul of the Republic into question. If we cannot come together to help each other when the need is staring us in the face, then we are no longer the Republic our ancestors envisioned us to be."

Mantrell: "Very... very powerful words Senator. And very enlightening. Thank you very much for your time."

SENATOR KRASS - DEAD!
​

Senator Krass (@Prudence) has been shot and killed at a press conference on Chandrila. Taking place in the Corellian Embassy on Chandrila - the home of the Senate - a single shot rang out and took down the infamous Senator for Corellia, who has overseen a period of economic collapse which has devastated Corellia.

The Senators family have been unavailable for comment, and the CEO & Chairman of the Czerka Corporation Voren Makr has not been available for comment, with a statement from his office stating that that the company will be continuing with its operations to ensure the economic recovery of the planet.

Calling all motivated sentient beings, a job in a million.​

The Makr Foundation​

A Multi-Billion Credit Charitable Foundation, described as a 'Venture Philanthropy' fund has been launched by Czerka CEO Voren Makr. Calling on other wealthy individuals to join the fund, the CEO has stated that the objectives of the fund would be to provide healthcare, education and development opportunities in the most impoverished areas.

Based out of a basic office on Coruscant, the fund has already expressed interests in developing healthcare in some of the more impoverished levels of Coruscant, most specifically in the notorious level 1313 which has historically been abandoned by the authorities.

Rix Paige: Moving on Up!
​

After weeks of speculation, the Czerka Corporation today has announced that its very own media Director will be moving up the position of 'Deputy Chairman' in a move that comes as a surprise to few. Mr. R. Paige, who will remain at the helm of the popular news agency 'CMNG' which forms the holding group for CNN will be assisting in the management of the company as a whole. Voiren makr, CEO & Chairman of the Company welcomed the decision, and stated that:

''As Czerka continues to grow, it becomes ever more important to keep a dedicated management team fully operational and staffed. Rix is a good friend of mine, and he will do well in the post, adding more and more to Czerka as we develop and grow.''

Jedi bring down ancient Star Destroyer!​

Yesterday, millions of citizens of Cato Neimoidia began to fear for their lives as a massive warship seemingly rose from beneath the ground a couple of kilometers away from their closest cities. The ship lingered around in the air for a little under an hour, plenty of time for officials to identify the ship as a Sith star destroyer, over a kilometer long. The ship was not affiliated with today's Sith Brotherhood, rather the ship's design was last seen several centuries ago. An hour after the cameras were rolling and people were flocking in the streets to see the ancient warship in the distance, the aft section of said ship began to explode. The crowd were amazed and panicked at the same time.

The ship began to turn towards the ground several minutes after the explosions had occurred. Closer inspection of some of the footage showed escape pods being jettisoned moments before the starship crashed, causing a huge dust cloud to form over the desolate region of the planet, seen with the naked eyes miles upon miles away.

Rescue teams,security officials, among others all raced down to the ground near the crashed ship in dropships to investigate the scene, and what they found was astonishing at the least. One of the landed escape pods burst open just as the cameras started recording again. Two Jedi padawans; one male (@Cameron Foster), the other female (@Tristyn) ; both emerged from the pod. The male padawan, who identified himself as Rokuro Kita, and his companion as Tamara Umari, both claimed to have taken down the ship under orders from the Jedi on Tython. The Government of Cato Neimoidia confirmed that they had contacted the Jedi to investigate a rise in pirate attacks on the planet.

The two Jedi had infiltrated a pirate fortress where the ship and emerged from, boarded the old warship and caused it to crash, killing most of the suspected pirates. As of late, security are arresting the surviving pirates. The Jedi left the planet shortly after the event and were unable to answer any questions CNN were going to ask.

As I approach the Chandrilla offices of SOL-Arts, I find myself considering what it must be like in the mind of it's enigmatic director, Mavis Deacon. The building is obviously an engineering marvel; an enormous eco-friendly, self sustaining complex that radiates a suspicious amount of splendor. Once inside however, you are overwhelmed by the buzzing creative energy that surounds you. Even more stunning? That's not even the SOL-Art's office. 80% of the space is leased at cost to other publicly funded companies, and affordable housing units. Upon reaching the top floor, the final layer of pretense is thuroughly dispelled. Somewhere between starfighter and playground is the only way to describe the brightly colored decor. Whimsical droids of all types populate the space, assisting their organic co-workers, and one leads me Mavis, who is occupying a room like a small hangar, cluttered with circuitry and CPUs. I don't have to ask to know this is as close to an office as the young man from Duro is ever likely to get.​

Mavis Deacon, formerly Mavis Zhulta, has never been anything but open about his past and high-profile family ties; a topic already covered many times by the media, so I prefer to spare you and Mr. Deacon from rehashing that story. Instead, much like the man himself, I wish to focus on the future. Since it's inception, SOL-Arts has set a new standard in ambition, takling such projects as urban renewal, research and development grants, public education, and information technologies. Though they enjoyed fame for public stunts, such as their infamous distribution of millions of free SolPAD personal date devices, the bulk of their succuss is less grandoise, but just as powerful. Imagine your SolPAD without the fre access to the galctic digital library. So what is next?

New Dawn. While I have been sworn to non-disclosure, I am not hindered from expressing my genuine excitement. Bigger than anything else we've seen from this astounding non-profit, their next endevour promises to elevate our republic, and beyond, to a whole new era. In a final push for backers and support, Mavis has announced an extravagant reception to honor the Senate, and our galaxy's elite. Held at the prestigious Millenium Lounge on Coruscant, the New Dawn Gala [thread here] will take place at the end of this week. The guest list already includes Czerka titan @Voren Makr (who has donated the security detail), Davian Price (@Vosrik ), and Deacon's mentor, renowed financial mogul @Pierce Allemn . While the entire senate has been invited, Mavis expressed to me a vested interest in the attendance of his long estranged father, Duros Senator Cadan Zhulta @Jaylor .

While the event itself is decidedly exclusive, the announcement of New Dawn will be broadcast live, and yours truly will be there to cover it all.

For the rest of us, SOL-Arts has announced that this new project will involve an expansion, and new hires in all positions, including an executive assistant to the mysterious Mr. Deacon himself. With the benefits package they offer, even I am considering it.

Breaking News!​

The controversial proffessional collective known as the Bounty Hunter's Guild, has just found new leadership, and she comes from an unlikely place. Starlet of the underground music scene, Diva Tumi, has apparently been moonlighting, or should we say daylighting as a bounty hunter for years. While this revaltion puts her hit single Hunter into better context, there were till so many questions on my mind. Luckily, CNN was able to get the excusive interview with Ms. Tumi regarding her recent promotion, and what this means for the future of the mysterious world of Bounty Hunters.

TECH: Uh.... your smoking is messsing with the gear, do you mind?

DIVA: Yes. I do.

CNN: Ms. Tumi. Wow. Thank you so mu...

DIVA: Diva.

CNN: Diva, thank you. Let me start by saying I am the number 1 fan of your music. Hunter is the perfect song for pre-gaming with my girflriends, but now I don't think I'll ever be able to think of it the same way...

DIVA: That sucks.

CNN: Well...no, I just... Is it safe to say that the song is really about Bounty Hunting

DIVA: It's about alot of things. It's a ***** song.

(long pause)

CNN: ...Uh, what I meant was, would you say your music has been influenced by your work as a bounty hunter?

DIVA: So what you are asking is if one of the most time consuming aspects of my life and career influences the other? Does your work as a bimbo influence your work as a journalist?

CNN: Excuse me, I only meant that since you have revealed yourself as a Bounty Hunter, there are certian..

DIVA: Have you ever seen me perform, number 1 fan? I talk about work all the time, everyone knows what I do for a living. A GOOD living, I might add.

(very longe pause. Sound technician coughs)

CNN: I'm sorry, why don't we shift gears for a moment.

DIVA: Brilliant.

CNN: SO the Guild? While your proffesion is hot contested as walking the fine line of the law, previous Guildmaster Zae Tannarah was well known for being extremely cooperative with the Republic and asking the same of the Hunters she oversaw. Many say she brought a great amount of dignity to the profession. Why the change?

DIVA: Zae gives no quarter. When I joined, she gave me none either, and I owe her and Talia for that. They were....... supportive, I guess. Unfortunately, due to some frankly embarassing political scandals and "gates" recently in the Republic, Zae was forced to face the reality that the neutraility of Bounty Hunters is one of our greatest strengths. Besides that, she had other things to tend to, and felt that I was the strongest candidate within the guild to uphold this reality.

CNN: Does this mean breaking ties with the Senate?

DIVA: Of course not. If anything our new contracts offer new and better ways for them to utilize our expertise. We will continue to graciously accept the same amount of Republic law enforcement contracts, but we cannot fairly consider ourselves "allied" to anything but our code. Our talent is what we sell, our loyalty is not.

CNN: Intersting stance, but surly you can understand that that sort of language can cause a lot of panic in average hard working citizens who might worry?

DIVA: Well then why don't you educate them? Surely, you can understand that your sort of ambiguously slanted language makes it more terrifying? Whatever. [talking into recorder] listen, we have a code people, and it's readily available on the holo-net....

CNN: THANK YOU Ms. Tu.... Ehem, Diva. You obviously have a lot of... passion for your work. Let's shift focus once more. Is work the only point of passion in your life? Is it challenging to be a career woman and have time for dating?

DIVA: Seriously Dana? ****** off.

CNN: Ok, well what about the work then? Two careers? and no doubt a lot of discipline to juggle so much. Speaking of, is discipline a relic of your childhood in the Circus...

DIVA: alright, we're done...

As you might guess, my time with Diva was not as fruitful as one might have hoped. But I can say with confidence that she is a woman who takes her work seriously, the type of person you want on your side; but that may be something we never know.

Meanwhile, this coming weekend the Proletariat Lounge, the famous undercity nightclub on Coruscant (debatably made so by Diva Tumi's frequent performances), will be hosting an enormous open invitation party to celebrate Diva's appointment as guild master. With an all star lineup of musicians, including Diva herself, it it sure to be an affair to remember.

Onderon Under Attack!

Sith barbarians ravage the Republic​

In yet another vile display of terrorism, the Sacred Band of Ziost and their Sith Allies have torn a hole into the heart of the Republic with a series of violent attacks that have shocked many. Taking advantage of the lax security on some of the more peaceful worlds, the SBZ launched a series of blinding attacks of late, leaving the Grand Army of the Republic - still in its early formative stages - trying to recover from the damage. With the loss of civilian rising each day, CNN urges people to remain vigilant and in the event of an emergency to listen to the authorities.

CNN will be providing emergency broadcasting services across the Republic to update, and to inform, in the event of another Sith Attack. In the meantime, the Bounty Hunters Guild (@Diva Tumi) has provided incentives for its members to support the GAR on Onderon and in the defence of Hapes, with the Accord (@Outlander) also providing aid alongside the men and women of the Chosen (@Arclight). Former Senator, Voren Makr of the Security Committee commented:

''I have every confidence that the shortfalls within the GAR can be made up for in the spirit of collaboration by Private Groups, and concerned third parties such as the Accord. The Republic was built on the spirit of cooperation, and it is that spirit that may well be our greatest ally now.''

Investigated the causes of the war, with thanks to Senator Darsten (@SirNoodles) of Onderon itself, we look at just why this war is breaking out, and what has driven such wanton acts of Terrorism from the Sith of Ziost. Stay with us as we move into the extreme world of Bounty Hunting, with a look at the methods and approaches to this controversial trade. Javik Teer (@Prudence) looks at the human cost of the war on Onderon, to round off this weeks broadcast.

Onderon - Live from Yolahn Square​

Reporter: "In the recent terms of events, it is no secret that the Sith have invaded Onderon. Many have been devastated by this move. People are being forced to evacuate their homes, riots are beginning and the Sith forces lurk round through the city of Iziz. What isn't there to be devastated about? However this move has angered an individual who has made his name heard more recently: Senator Falcon Darsten and a retired soldier of Onderon's own military. I am joined by him today for an interview about the Onderon invasion. So, Mr Darsten, what were your initial thoughts on it?"

Mr Darsten: "Well it's, of course, clear that I'm not happy about it. I think I've made that certain. But we're just a planet who's trying to survive and the Sith come along, thinking they can burn everything we've worked for... well that's not gonna work out fine. I've fought for Onderon and to see it be destroyed by some maniacs certainly isn't something I'd appreciate seeing. So overall I'm angry, hopeful and willing to even fight if I need."

Reporter: "Thank you for that, Mr Darsten. So what were your thoughts on the Sith before they even invaded Onderon, Zeltros or Saleucami?"

Mr Darsten: "I certainly did not like them. I still disliked them but not as much as I do now. Now I despise them especially for killing many innocents - not just on Onderon but on other planets. Pre-attacks I thought, as any other criminas, they needed to be dealt with. Maybe not killed but imprisoned or punished in some way."

Reporter: "Now I don't mean to put pressure on you at all but do you feel as though you can win this battle?"

Mr Darsten: "Of course. The Sith may have their magical powers but as far as I'm concerned we outnumber them. We have the Republic, Jedi, Royal Onderonion Military and even bounty hunters on our side. I think there may be even more than I was sure about. I don't at all underestimate the Sith. I do not know fully what they can do but I am sure it is powerful. Let's put it at this: I've seen the Onderonion military in action first-hand. Trust me, it's not an army you'd want to get on the wrong side of."

Bounty Hunting - Dark Warriors? Or Wanton Criminals?​

Supply and demand, it drives our every day lives from fuel to speeders, but could this most powerful of forces now be driving out very safety? One of the oldest professions in the Galaxy, made legal by the Senate centuries past, and regulated by the Bounty Hunters Guild (@Diva Tumi) the noble profession has been called into question this week, with news that it will be they spearheading the defense of Onderon as it falls beneath the terrorism of the Sith.

But should we really be worried that our well-being lies in the hands of mercenaries? Or is it a telling message of the shortages in our own defenses, a worrying sign perhaps of our own insecurity? What world do we find ourselves in when we must rely on contractors to do the work of government?

The answer ladies, gentlemen and other sentiments, is this world. A world in which time and time again, private industry makes up for the shortfalls of Government, and bounty hunters are just the latest manifestation of that reality. Here at CNN we have decisive proof* that the men and women of the Bounty Hunting world are stalwarts of Justice, if licensed of course. Defending our liberty and freedom at the mere cost of a few Credits, they transcend the rivalries of the Republic Planets. and instead focus on delivering a high quality, excellent service directly to the client, be it a private individual, Government of Organisation.

We spoke to Jim 'The Knife' McQueen, famed for taking down the Despot of Dysporia in a single day, after Governments of the neighboring Cities had been fighting him for years, who had this to say:

''Hell, I'm just taking names you know, takin' names.''​

This informative statement from a simple minded Hunter shows us just how useful the Bounty Hunters can be, taking names, right up until the Credits dry up, however, unlike the common merc, they just wait for more credits, instead of going mad and turning on you in a fit of furious warlike mania. Here at CNN, we continue to support the Bounty Hunters Guild, as they tirelessly defend our borders and our people from the constant wanton terrorism of the Sith Order.

Iziz in flames!​

Recent news from Republic World Onderon is that terrorists have begun attacking her walled capital city of Iziz. This comes after the announcement by the leader of terrorist organization (@Black Noise), The Sacred Band of Ziost, announced that they would begin systematically burning worlds, with Onderon next on the list after the recent terror attacks, and following secession of Zeltros. These attacks would seem to be the work of the Warlords of the Sacred Band. The Republic has responded by hiring mercenaries @Arclight), and soldiers of fortune to defend Onderon, beside the Jedi (@Elijah Brockway) and the fledgling Grand Army of the Republic (@Krajin) . Grand Army soldiers present said that the hired help could be seen drinking and infighting, with one Bounty Hunters Guild hunter seen attempting to claim an allegedly Sith placed bounty on one of the Jedi defenders.

Already we are receiving reports from Onderon Defense teams that they have been successful at preventing the Sith/SBZ terrorist attacks! A team tasked with the defense of Iziz Police Department is reporting that they were able to identify and push back two of these terrorists, saving the men and women of IPD. Other teams have reported attacks on banks, and other integral parts of Iziz's safety and economy, though CNN has not received reports on the status of those attacks. Earlier this week, our Entertainment Specialist took to the red carpet to interview the much famed Dreste Cometfire, ahead of his upcoming movie around the life and lies of Senator Aren Krass (@Prudence), the leading role he plays. Mr. Lars Warren (@Poop Fairy) who - through his association with CNN - stands to gain a small windfall from it, was also seen at the glitzy event which saw the Galaxies great and good meeting the stars....

Interviewer: "So, Mr. Cometfire..."

Dreste: "Oh please, just Dres, thank you."

Int: "Alright, Dres. So, are you excited about the premiere this week?"

D: "Oh for sure! I, uh, I've actually avoided seeing a finished cut for some time now so I can surprise myself. Just because I'm in the Holo, you see, it's like, uh, you know, I'm still an audience member, and I want that audience member experience just like anyone else. So yes, you could say I'm a bit excited to finally see what comes out on screen."

Int: "Well I believe we can all certainly relate to that sentiment. Now, in the film, you play the role of the late Senator Aren Krass- and, I might add, it's a role which is already creating rumors of a clean sweep this awards season. What was it like, trying to embody such a larger than life character who is so recently deceased? That has to be a lot of pressure.

D: "Uh, yeah, it was quiet a bit of pressure. More than quiet a bit, in fact... When I, uh, first started studying for the role, I visited Coronet University where Senator Krass studied as a boy. I went and saw the old Krass Estate, saw where he grew up, silver spoon in hand, and I even got an extensive tour of the Senate Chambers where he worked. And, the whole time I was just like, wow. This is it. I'm really doing this. It's quiet a burden, once you think about it, trying to do another living being justice on screen."

Int: "Yes, I can imagine. You know, when the project was announce, the reaction wasn't entirely positive. A lot of people are saying that Aren Krass was... well, they've made a case that he's not exactly a hero, deserving of his own bio-holo."

D: "Uh, hmmm... Uh, is there a question in there, or...?

Int: "Sorry, I guess what I'm getting at is; what do you think? How do you feel about Senator Krass after everything that came to light before and after his assassination? Is he the hero of this story... or, is he the villain?"

*Dreste laughs and takes a sip of water*​

D: "Well, uh... Wow. Wasn't expecting that one, uh... Hmm. You know, that's a very difficult question. I think that, uh... I think that it's impossible to answer really, but I will take a swing at it... hm... Senator Aren Krass was a man of ambition, and I think, undeniably, there were many elements of corruption and some moral ambiguity that we tried to faithfully portray in the holo- the hashtag Krassgate scandal for example. But people forget that he was also very generous with his wealth- he once wrote a multi million dollar check to the Sector Rangers out of his own pocket, to help keep people safe at night- and he was also a doting father, who's daughter served honorably in the Border Alliance. I don't believe he got into politics entirely for personal gain. But... well... You know, nobody thinks they're the bad guy. Every villain is the hero of his own story. So if you're asking if Senator Krass is a hero or a villain, well... I think we'll have to let the audience answer that one."

Int: "I think that's a quiet excellent answer, Dres. Thank you so much for coming out today, and I look forward to seeing you on the screen here in a few days."

Breezy Breezer Swoops Awards

Yum Kaboom takes silver!

Ahead of months of speculation, the annual GALAXY (Galactic Award for Linguistic Acting Xeno Yarrigations) Ceremony has gone ahead, with Breezy taking awards in multiple categories. As the first non-human to win the much coveted "Best Human Award" many are wondering why on earth the award ceremony took place, as it's pretty obvious most of the judges had no idea what they're doing.

Sweeping the awards for "Best Human" "Phattest Rhymes" "Rylock Impersonation" "Best Musical Score" and "Best Rodian" Breezy commented in his speech saying he wanted to thank his idol, himself. The audience reportedly found it hilarious and "Pray for myself" started trending, meaning it is popular, and therefore correct.

Yum Kaboom won the award for best Janglethroobic Throat Warble for the first time this year, showing that even in show business things actually can change. We caught up with Yums agent, another Yuzzem, around the back of the venue, who said.

So, as this years GALAXY draws to a close, let's never forget that anyone, no matter how glib and unsuccessful at school, can probably be a celebrity.

The Future - Prudii Kyramud​

How one man can change the course of history​

Mandalore, a world with proud traditions, and prouder people. This crucible of martial prowess and excellence is set to take to Clan Halls soon, the fate of the System resting in the hands of the Chosen Few, the Clan Leaders, who seek to decide who will take the mantle of 'Mandalore', the physical embodiment of their Spirit & Culture, the very pinnacle of the ideology this group represents. It is in this time of Galactic need that the people of Mandalore must seek a leader who embodies both their passion for combat, and their tradition for loyalty and honor, and for that reason, here at the Czerka News Network we are formally endorsing Prudii Kyramud (@Prudence) for the position of Mandalore.

Born on the planet that he seeks to lead, Prudii represents the true ideals of the Mandalorian People, and shows a willingness to back his words with actions, and in a Galaxy divided by war, such a warlike people deserve a ruler who makes their intentions clear, and can act as an inspiration to others to do likewise. Already having forged himself a legacy of acting in the interests of his people, following a recent mission to secure and assist the people of Rodia, it is clear to use that Prudii is the right warrior for the task. Speaking earlier today, the Rodian Ruler of G'wenee said:

"Having shown the resoluteness needed to act under extreme pressure, and command the utmost loyalty from his comrades whilst working for the Rodian People, I have no qualms about backing Prudii for this role.''​

Of course, it was not just from the lofty leaders of Rodia from which praise has come knocking, with Celebrity Endorsements coming rolling in as well. Speaking earlier at a jam backed #Prudii4Mandalore event on Coruscant, infamous rock star and TV Chat-Show Host Rothorak the Indomitable (currently presenter of 'Rancor Rallies Reloaded') screamed something about how 'great and awesome' Prudii was (despite reports that he didn't actually know who he was). The events host, Breezy Breezer however had more productive things to say:

''Prudii's just this guy you know?''​

Wise words, from a strange man. Also speaking out in favor of the new Mandalore Candidate, several names in big business, including current owners of the 'Sienar Fleet Systems group, as well as a conglomerate of major banking bodies, (such as 'Muunilist Financials' & the 'M&W 500' Fund) have all thrown their support behind the candidate. Voren Makr, Chairman of the CNN Group, Former Senator and founder of the Grand Army of the Republic, as well as former owner of the Czerka Corporation, spoke in support of the Mandalorian at his investment fundraiser yesterday:

''It's going to be great, so great. It is just beautiful, he has all the best people. Hugely successful. It's, it's just going to be great.''​

Few detractors have currently stepped out against the Candidate, who is topping polls intergalactically as well as on Mandalore*, ahead of speculation that he is the current clan favorite. Investors sight concerns over recent moves​

Economic stalwart CNN has nosedived in value in the past day, since the markets opened this morning following the announcement that the Media Group will be moving to the Corporate Sector due to favorable Taxation Laws. Chairman Voren Makr was unavailable for comment amid rumors that his new fund, InvestiCorp (RSS: IVC) shorted his own stock, something illegal within Republic Space, but permitted in the CorpSec. CNN has not commented, however other media groups are reported to be in the running, and considering a buyout of the company, always seen as a staple in the wavering economy around the Galaxy.

Analysts at CNN also noticed the collapse of several other key shares today, with PriceCorp recovering from the dip, and Sienar Fleet Systems also seeing a significant decline. Analysts predict that there may be an economic crash on the horizon as investors panic about the potential fallout of the war.
