Instead of attempting to go against Nox's lock, which would disable the use of both his left and right arms, he rolled his body in the direction of the attempted lock, and attempted to cross his offhand over for a swipe across the body with his Shoto, to be interrupted by a heavy leg kick, causing searing pain to shoot his calf. He took a knee as a result and let out a disgruntled hiss. "Gah!" he exclaimed, with a sharp breath between his sharp, needle-like teeth. "There is much to improve, but this one accepts your compliment." he said, as he stood and stretched out the retracted muscles in his leg from the kick. Grik stood straight up kicking his leg up to head level for a final stretch. "This one admires your leg strike. Placement was perfect for causing the sort of damage you caused," he remarked, standing in front of his mentor.

The Noghri Crusader just stared in awe, unreadable but stunned behind his mask. Despite having just sustained a serious blow to the back of the knee, Grik kicked his leg up to his head to recover. Almost any other species would have been immobilized for a significant duration, but the Barabel had simply stretched it out and shaken it off. The display strengthened Nox's theory that Barabel were simply a superior race. Heartening was the fact that Barabel were reptilian, like Noghri.

"Thank you, Acolyte. I take it is a point of pride that my martial skills can still be well regarded in combat such as that between Sith. Though my clan was trained in Sith ways, I cannot say we have ever truly compared to those that can bend their will to the Force. Of course, with my own ability that has changed for me. I am something of a," He paused, searching for the right word. "An icon. Hope for my people that we can still be of greater use, that our purpose is not forever lost."

Grik nodded as Nox explained his position within his tribe. "On Barab, this one was one of the worst ones with the force in a group started by the chieftain. As a result, this was put under a Sith from our tribe and studied underneath him until this one turned 21. The day that we met was eight months to the day of this one's departure from Barab I. This one is expected to return and follow suit of the last Sith." he said, hooking his shoto and new saber to their respective sides and covering them with the sides of his tunic.

"I see," Nox said, nodding and walking closer to Grik. "Then it is my duty to make certain that you will be properly prepared for that. Though, in honesty, you have grown faster than I ever did since my time here began. I do not think I was ever as suited to controlling the Force as my peers, it was purely my training in mind and body that made me an asset here. I expect you will outstrip me soon."

Nox took off his glove and offered Grik his hand for a warrior's handshake.

"Let me know what more I can do, in the mean time. Observing your progress has been rewarding."
