"And yet another comes..." (Choray Sefja's Training)

[Phil]

The push made Durtrak slightly rock back, but with his quick timing, he barely felt any movement on his part. It was a good blast he received for a starter, and if Choray practiced it, he could develope it into something even better.

"Very good. There isss one other power that isss related to the pussh. Insstead of pusshing though, you will grip objectsss with The Force. This can be ussed for normal circumstancesss or in a more lethal manner."

 

[D.C.]

"So it is actually telekinesis-like stuff." Choray said. "I think I begin to understand how the force actually works. With it, one can manipulate things or empower themselves, right?"

He waited for a reply and further instruction. He thought he could use this pull power, but he didn't do anything until his master told him to.

 

[Phil]

"Exactly. You are a quick learned. Now, follow Durtrak. We will need more room then thesse ssmall chambersss for the powersss we will be ussing."

Leading Choray out of the room and eventually into a large courtyard with a large lawn covering much of the yard. There were not too many people out here, except for Durtrak, Choray, and one other Ospion Knight who wore some sort of medium grade protective mask and armor over his body.

"Thisss brave Osspion Knight has volunteered to be the target of sseveral powersss you will learn. He has developed a high pain tolerance and his protective suit will ensure no fatal harm will come onto him.

"The Next power I will teach is Force Grip. Obsserve."

Nodding to the armored knight, he opened his palms to reveal a metal ball in each hand as he held them out. Reaching out, Durtrak easily gripped the one on the left and bulled it towards him until it was his hand.

"Now it isss your turn."

 

[D.C.]

Choray watched his master using Force Grip. Then he was told to do it himself. He focused. After a few moments he figured he didn't know what to focus on and he looked at his master, his eyes questioning.

"I am sorry to ask you this, master Durtrak, but how should I call upon this power? I don't think I really understand how to use Force Grip. It's very different than Push, Pull or Speed, isn't it?"

 

[Phil]

"Hmmm... ssomewhat. In a way, it'sss ssimilar to how you call upon the power to sspeed up your movementsss and ssend a pussh out of your handsss. Clear your mind of disstractionsss and thoughtsss, concentraite on the Force, and focusss on the object you wissh to grab. Once you know you are focussing on that object and nothing more, you will be in control of it."

 

[D.C.]

"Ok." Choray replied. "I think I know how to, I will try."

He then looked at the Ospion Knight who held the other ball in his right hand. Choray reached out and concentrated on the object. He focused more and more and finally the object broke free from the Ospions grip and it floated through the air towards Choray's hand. He grabbed it.

 

[Phil]

"Excellent! The knowledge is now in you. Now, through the ssame way you grabbed it, place it back into his hand."

Durtrak demonstrated so as he levitated his small sphere back into the silent Ospion's open palm where it once was. He then turned back to Choray, looking on to see if he had the hang of it.

 

[D.C.]

Choray watched his master doing this and he knew he could do it too. He reached out his hand in which he held the orb and he focused on it. It took him a while but then it began to float all the way back to the Ospion Knight and it landed back in the Knight's palm. Choray sighed, but he was satisfied.

"Was that good?" he asked his master.

 

[Phil]

"Indeed it was. Over time and practice, you will be able to move objectsss with more easse, and even move larger objectsss with your mind. Which bringsss usss to the next power: The Grip."

Durtrak then turned to the Knight and nodded, who replied back with a nod. The Knight then unsheathed a sword and advanced towards Durtrak, but was suddenly stopped in his tracks. Durtrak had reached out through the force, tapping into his darker powers as he grabbed the Knight by the throat and held him where he stood through the Force, bringing him down onto one knee as he "lightly" strangled him. After feeling the demonstration was enough, he released the Knight from the Grip, who quickly regained his footing.

"What you saw was me sstopping him in his tracksss, tapping into the Dark Sside of the Force and reaching out through it to throttle him until he was ssubdued. Depending on the amount of pressure you apply and how much anger you concentrate on, it can sseriously injure ssomeone, and even kill them before they run out of air. Do you follow?"

 

[D.C.]

"Yes. I understand." Choray said. "The Grip seems to be a very dangerous technique then. Powerful if used correctly. Why is it that the Jedi refuse to use these powerful techniques?"

 

[Phil]

"The Jeedai do not believe in attacking another, even in sself defensse, with the Force. They believe it sshould be for defensse and never for an attack. Imagine the Force is a deity, and the Jeedai worsship and sserve it like followersss would their god. The Jeedai feel that to usse ssuch a power as an attack is dissresspectful and a dissgrace."

 

[D.C.]

"So, the Jedi don't understand the true power of the Force..." Choray said. "...All this power they don't have. Doesn't it make us Ospion much stronger then?"

He looked over to the Ospion Knight.

"I would like to try Grip, if you would allow me, master."

 

[Phil]

"I would think that we are, though the Jeedai are sstill not to be underesstimated. I have crosssed bladesss with them before and they are sstill a threat not to be taken lightly."

Looking him over, then to the armored Knight, Durtrak nodded.

"Yesss, I believe you can attempt The Grip. Focusss jusst like you did when you grabbed the ssphere, but focusss on anger asswell. Memoriesss, thoughtsss, anything you can imagine that causes you anger, and the hate for them will fuel the power even further. When you think you have it, focusss on our friend here just below his head and grab."

 

[D.C.]

Choray looked over to the Knight who nodded to him that he was ready. Then the zabrak thought about his memories and searched for anything that would make him angry.

The pirates... My father killed... Mother died from deathstick overdose... My addiction to deathsticks...

All the memories of his past went through his head and he felt the anger coming up inside him. He then reached out his right hand towards the Knight and focused on his throat. It seemed nothing happened at first but then suddenly the Knight grabbed his throat and Choray forced him down on his knees. Fury was in Choray's eyes and the anger was taking control of him. He would go on until the Ospion Knight was choked.

Choray couldn't do anything about it though. The anger had taken over his mind and Durtrak had to stop the Zabrak before he would do something he would regret.

Then suddenly Choray let go and said: "I... Master, I am sorry. I... It took control of me. I am sorry!"

Luckily for the Ospion Knight, Choray was able to push back the anger and so he managed to take back control. He stood there and he was shaking. He never thought he had such power inside him. He was ashamed for losing himself in his anger.

 

[Phil]

Durtrak saw what was happening and before he could interfere, CHoray managed to regain control. Durtrak shook his head, but it was not to his apprentice.

"That would be my fault. Anger is ssomething the Jedi frown upon, but it isss a common thing for anyone, especially for Trandoshansss ssuch as mysself. But when ussing it with the Force... it can be a bit desstructive if the user doesss not control it. If you were fighting a real enemy that meant to kill you, or even a Jeedai, it would be encouraged on what you just did. So do not feel asshamed, it sshowsss that you have the ability to call upon thisss power in almosst full strength."

 

[D.C.]

Choray looked at his master. He felt relieved by his masters words and nodded. "Alright, master." he said. "Thank you."

He then looked over to the knight. "Sorry for that." he said.
The Knight nodded to show it was ok and Choray looked back at his master.

He awaited new instructions.

 

[Phil]

"There are few powersss that even I know that cannot be ssafetly be tested on another without killing them, even toned down. You can see that we are in the training yard, but we are not restricted to the ground."

To show what he meant, Durtrak focused on the Force as he leaped back wards into a flip, going high into the air as he landed on the roof of the second story building. Looking down at Choray, he gave him further instructions.

"You are familiar with gathering the Force and ussing it to your advantage, now ssee if you can reach me up here using it."

 

[D.C.]

Choray was impressed to see his master leaping into the air and landing on the roof of a building. He then was told to do it himself.

He stood underneath the building and let the Force flow through him, just like he would do when using other powers. He felt strength gathering around his legs and suddenly he was launched into the air and he landed right next to Durtrak.

"It's feeling more and more familiar." he said with a smile.

 

[Phil]

"That is good! It will ssoon become natural to you sso you don't even need to focusss asss much. Is there any quesstionsss you wissh to assk before we move onwardsss?"

Durtrak was impressed, rarely was there an initiate that were touched by the Force when they first arrived.

 

[D.C.]

"At the moment, I don't have any questions..." Choray said. "I would like to move on. Maybe I have some questions later, but as of now, everything is clear to me."
