Kai sat on the hood of his air speeder in the lower levels. His eyes staring up as the building stretched upwards. From this low the Grysk felt like the buildings above him were scraping the sky. But the more he looked at it the more he felt like he was down in some well. The reverberation of his air speeder's speakers was slightly louder than the distant noises of the ecumonopolis.

Taking a deep breath and sighing he pushed himself into a sitting position. The cigara that had been burning in his fingers was mostly gone. Malakai took the last worthwhile hit and then flicked it onto the pavement.

The surrounding area was plain and dull industrial buildings. The only people that came to this part of the city planet were those who worked here. There was less traffic, less eyes, easier to spot someone who was trying to spy. But it was neutral ground and intentionally meant to be somewhere that was at least suitable for the meeting ahead.

Malakai had contacted Alais, the owner of Nightfall, for the second time. The last time had ended with her having to leave for some type of emergency. At the time the Grysk thought it was her way of showing disinterest but the petite woman had agreed to meet with him for a second time. A few changes had come for both of them and ideally, they would be able to have some kind of deal brokered. Now when he looked up he was not staring at the sky. He was waiting for his future business partner to arrive.

Lilith hadn't used the alias Alais in a very long time. Being back on Nar Shaddaa felt shitty too, and to think she wanted to invest all her time here. That felt like forever ago, even if it really wasn't. She arrived in a much plainer outfit than usual for her, but still more girly than what she'd been wearing lately. Over it she wore a black coat that almost cut like a short dress on the bottom, which helped shield the sides of her belt.

She arrived at the location and got out of the speeder that she recently bought. It too was a little girly... she had to indulge in this part of her while she had the chance, at least. It made Nar Shaddaa bearable. When her eyes found the man waiting for her, a surprised expression dawned on her; the force sensitive she'd felt earlier was him. Obviously during their first meeting she hadn't been trained enough to sense him or really have a signature of her own. That meant he'd be able to sense her now too.

He'd never come off as the Jedi type, however, so she wasn't on high alert but she'd be careful now. If he was a Sith Eternal... it could prove to be a much more fruitful encounter. Either way, she quickly snuffed out the surprised look in favor for something a bit less telling, and cold. There wasn't really any guarantee how the conversation was going to play out.

By the time she reached him she gave a curt nod and spoke in a plain tone, "Malakai, you're a persistent man." She tipped her head somewhat, and if he remembered her he might notice that her blue eyes were much more murky than when they first met. "Still wanting to con me out of some credits by 'assisting' me with spice sales, or whatever it was?"

As he saw the other airspeeder arrived he remembered how Alais had been dressed the first time they had met and wondered if she was going to be wearing something similar. But she seemed to have a simpler outfit that was on the more casual side than before. Her surprise towards him was not registered. Malakai was used to be being revolted by his appearance before so he subconsciously figured that was why she gave him that look.

"Heh, I've been called worse." He replied with as warm a smile as a skull face could make. As far as the woman was concerned he looked just as morbid as before, perhaps slightly more gaunt but for a visage of death it was not much off a change. "Ouch. I wasn't trying to con you. I wanted to actually just buy your business and expand it."

Malakai had made a deal with Ikraggo the Hutt and would be expanding gambling to places outside of Hutt Space. He had even made a deal with another club owner already that could be considered a potential competitor for Nightfall. But Malakai knew that dancers and booze were not the only thing that Alais's establishment catered to. Of course there was also the slicer Spectre, he had some promise in him and movement into that market was opening up.

"Sorry about the meeting spot. I couldn't think of a nice place that was also...neutral. Doesn't mean I can' offer you a drink or something else." He made an effort to non-threateningly pull out his tin of laced cigaras. "Think I have some congac in my trunk if you want to wet your whistle."

"And why would I be interested in a one-time payout?" she asked, quirking an eyebrow. The idea really had no interest to her. The place still got her jobs from time to time, and a steady flow of credits.

Although she had recently commanded her people to dismantle her security system in the Nightfall and destroy all of it—the cameras, the consoles, everything. Not that she left the place completely unsecure; they'd replaced it with a normal security system. She just didn't want any of her programs circulating in the galaxy if someone tracked one of her many aliases there. Perhaps she'd have a "home" again one day, but that place was not it.

She walked up to his speeder after a second and sat on it, taking one of his offered cigaras and holding it out so he'd light it. If he did, she'd take a deep breath in then out. It'd been awhile since she smoked, but it was in her blood to indulge in things like this whenever she had the chance. "I'll have one of everything you'll offer."

The Grysk provided the necessary flame to get her cigara lit and pulled out a spare cup for her drink and took one for himself. Once that was done he would answer her question. "I don't want to own Nightfall." He said flatly. Taking a sip he made a slight murmuring noise, noticing that the drink was a little off in terms of desired temperature but still tasty. Actually, it was probably the spice in the cigara that was making him perceive the taste differently more than anything.

"You've done a decent job with your place of business and I'd prefer to keep it that way. It's less hassle if you keep on....keeping on." He waved his hand in the air to emphasize his indifference to her remaining the proprietor of the club. "What would like is for you to start capitalizing, or allowing myself to capitalize on the spice dealings going on under your roof. It's not currently being monitored or regulated in a consistent manner from what I hear. On top of that it's a decent place to launder credits." There was more but usually people showed some possible interest in.

"How familiar are you with the smuggling and forgery?" He asked as a general question. In his mind Malakai was wondering why the woman was not springing at the chance for more credits. The only reason he could think of was that she was prioritizing something above material wealth. It was not the fact it was spice or else she would have tried to get rid of the dealing going on among her own employees. She was hiding something. Then again everyone these days was. Maybe I'll have to start being more direct. Maybe I've been watching too many holo-dramas because so many people don't pick up on nuances. Nah, I'm not the problem. They are. That's it.

Lilith sighed, in a flippant way not a frustrated one. "Very well," she started, taking another breath in of the smoke before allowing it out. "It might be possible to persuade me, if you do it."

She wasn't about to spend a lot of time on a single small-time project. This man likely had tons of small projects in the works that'd add up to real credit gain, but she only had one place for now. A place she wasn't willing to invest more time into unless necessary, either. Quite frankly, she didn't have the time to spare for anything more. Things were moving, and quickly.

She tapped her fingers on his speeder lightly after the short pause to add, "How much of a cut would I get out of this?" It wasn't like she'd give up extra credits though, especially not if they helped sustain and fuel her travels until her plans came into fruition.

"Fairly familiar," she answered his question plainly at the end, not bothering to dodge or twist the answer like she would've in the past.

Malakai stared ahead with his burning cigara between two fingers in one hand. The ember was getting close to his skin soon enough. When he dragged on something it was harder than normal. Like it might be the last drag he ever takes, every time.

When he heard Alais ask him how much she would get, the corners of his mouth witched. His eye gleamed as it slowly turned to look at her. An intrigued expression with the slightest hints of amusement looked at the woman. "I think perhaps...sixty forty split." The greed that sparked her to simply ask the amount she could earn told him something else about her. But less specifically it was entertaining for his thought experiment continued.

His tone changed to a less playful tone. "I supply exclusive product to your employees though." He took a gulp of his cognac despite knowing full well he was probably going drive himself to his next venture. Maybe this tim'e I'LL be the one to die. He took another sip despite himself to allow the unwitting fellow Legionnaire some time to consider the caveat.

The young Sith shrugged and answered with, "Sure, that works for me," meant to cover both the things he said. As long as she was making more credits out of it? Who cared. It was spice, not slave trade so she couldn't get in trouble with her master over it either. Simply, it was win-win for her since she wouldn't be losing her steady flow of credits.

With that Lilith or "Alais" slid off the man's speeder, stepping in front of him now. If he didn't make any freaky moves to hurt her or pull away or whatever could possibly make alarm bells go off in her head, she'd lean forward closer to the man. Close enough that the two were staring one another in the eyes, possibly uncomfortably although this man didn't seem the type to get scared easily.

"But listen. I don't know if you're more crafty than I am,"
she said, smiling now with another shrug. The boredom in her eyes suddenly being replaced with a mix of danger and amusement. "I don't know if you could kill me, but..." The murkiness in her eyes took over the blue, until they were an unnatural yellow. "What I do know is I'll come after you if you try to screw me over somehow with this deal."

"Dope" He said immediately after Alais's answer. He wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Malakai watched, relaxed posture and all as the petite woman hopped off his airspeeder. His hand pulled the cigara out from between his teeth as she got closer. The ghoulish grin stared back at her with the drug filled smoke gently billowing out of his mouth and nose. But he didn't blink even as she pulled back. It was really because that action had him more intrigued by her more so than anything else.

"I'd expect nothing less." He replied letting the last bits of thinned smoke puff out with his words. Malakai didn't want to blow smoke directly in the woman's face.

I like her

That's cuz you ARE her...maybe that's why I think she's weird? No. It was because the woman that had just threatened him reminded Kai a lot of his dead girlfriend. Malakai was not exactly sure how to feel about that, what it said about himself. "You want to grab a drink that isn't from the boot of my car? Not that I'm complaining. It's just..." He paused a moment and tried thinking of where he would suggest to go. It was a spontaneous suggestion. "...never mind." The Legionnaire killed the rest of his drink.

Lilith leaned back when he seemed to get the message. His reaction was basically what she expected, that or a violent one. She didn't actually want it to get violent so she was fairly content.

But she frowned when he asked for a drink. Did she have the time? Well, she did if she made it she supposed. What was the point though? They weren't going to be working together closely. Lilith tapped her bottom lip while staring at him for a moment. He did have spice, and maybe she should allow herself to enjoy a cantina once in a blue moon. It use to be her everyday life and part of her did miss the simplicity of it.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt," she said after a moments thought, then added, "Got any harder spice to make the night worthwhile?" Her cigara had been wasting away in her hand, so she took a deep drag while waiting for his answer.

Hearing her accept the invitation was cause enough for him to look at her with a skeptical 'Are you sure' look. But the question made him chuckle. "Yeah...I think I can find something." He slid off his airspeeder and adjusted his clothes. Ironically he had rather baggy clothes that did not leave creases or got particularly wrinkled in the first place.

"I can make a detour for the spice if you want to grab a drink somewhere classy." He said the word 'classy' with air quotation. The man had been on a luxury barge not too long ago and while it was extravagant he would not consider it respectable by the common standard. He knew it would probably sound sleazy to suggest his pent house.

The place your squatting at you mean? The voice returned but he finished his cigara to have her become quiet again. The stub dropped to the ground behind his airspeeder where he habitually stomped it out. Kai got around having to pay rent for expensive housing by squatting in foreclosed high rises or unfinished luxury homes. In the next week or so he would be vacating a place he had occupied for awhile but there was plenty of spice there along with other conversation starters though the Grysk doubted the club owner wanted to work on arms dealing and other business ventures.

Part of Malakai wondered if this was Alias's way of testing his supply but he got the vibe from her that she had a tiredness in her that wanted some escape. Everyone does. But he could tell without even probing with the force that there was something inside her that desired to risk making a change.

A smile graced her lips once more when he seemed to agree to getting some spice. Even though it was still a duller smile she was actually starting to warm up to the idea. It was time to blow off some steam.

At the mention of going somewhere "classy" she said "Sure." shrugging and adding, "Works for me". Despite her enjoyment of clothing and makeup, and her comfort and practice around the rich, she'd come from the bottom of societies barrel. Being in any place with a roof over it use to be a godsend to her back in the day. She wanted to pretend she had higher standards now that she wasn't on the streets, but she only went to stiff-lipped places whenever she was on a mission. Not that she didn't enjoy the richer side of life, of course.

Since the plans were made she walked over to the passenger side of his speeder. "But I'll leave all the driving up to you," she said, tossing away the spent cigara after then slipping into his speeder. If she was going to get karked up, she probably wouldn't need her speeder anytime soon. And Malakai hadn't come off as shady, or at least shady by her "Nar Shaddaa standards", so she'd roll the dice on him for now.

THEME

Pleased to hear her agreement Malakai would close up his airspeeder's trunk and get behind the wheel. The vehicle would break off into the sky ascending level after level before traversing well outside of the industrial sector of Nar Shaddaa. Advertisements and sparkingly lights of the Smuggler's Moon always made the city a sight to behold.

The pit stop for picking up some spice from Bruggan, his Kaleesh employee, was short and just a discreet hand off like the Grysk was picking up food from a resturant that did carry out. "I'm probably going to be a bit under dressed...hmm." The last time he had gone to the classier part of Nar Shaddaa he had been wearing a suit. But the petite woman riding in his passenger seat was dressed relatively casual for her tastes. Looking different had not stopped him from doing what he wanted before. Kai wasn't about to begin now. He would give Alais the spice which was probably more than they would be able to consume in a normal day. Hopefully she knew how to roll it though there was more than one way to take spice.

Coming into slow sweep the airspeeder came to a stop. The door would open and there was already a valet reaching for the door on Alais's side to open it for her. Making his way around the airspeeder he got his ticket and let them sort out the parking. When the Valet began walking towards the car he grabbed him by the arm. <"Just...park it. Nothing else."> He exuded intimidation and the darkness of his will and easily slipped back into Huttese. The valet gulped nervously and then nodded. Just as quickly as it had come the intense expression disappeared with a simple smile on the Grysk's face.

People were arriving in cocktail dresses and a step up from the type of clothes the legionnaires were wearing but it was not too much of stretch for what was tolerable. The place technically had the option to refuse entry by anyone not abiding by their aesthetic. Other patrons would give them a look but the employees did not stop Malakai and his company from finding a spot at a high table overlooking the view. There was some distance from the rest of the crowd this time of night which also helped with them not being bothered. A waiter came by to take their orders quickly enough. <"I'll have the same as what she's going to have."> The waiter turned to her waiting for her decision though mildly perturbed by the skeletal man's presence.

"We'll certainly get some stares," she said, though she let out a short disinterested laugh. Tonight Lilith didn't want to put much energy into caring.

Lilith accepted the spice with a raised eyebrow though. She recognized it right away even if she hadn't had any of the type in almost three years. There was a lot, enough that she could probably store some and keep it after this whole night if the man didn't try to stop her. This type could be smoked or chewed, and she decided she wasn't going to wait so she popped some in her mouth. However, she began to roll some for Malakai. Now, she wasn't exactly skilled at it since it'd been so long, but it wasn't that hard to do either. When she was finished she tucked it in one of his breast pockets as he drove and stored the baggy with the rest in her bra.

By the time they arrived, Lilith still wasn't feeling it, but she knew chewing meant it took longer to kick in but it also hit harder. She watched the valet open the door and stepped out after, sensing the darkness from her 'business partner' shortly after. So he was Sith, or at least was a Dark Sider. It was worth noting but she filed it aside for tonight.

The young Sith took in the sight of the place as they entered. It was certainly more than what she hung out at, but she'd been to nicer places on missions. "Bespin Fizz," she said to the waiter. He nodded and scuttled off nervously, prompting another raised eyebrow from Lilith. But it was then she started to feel the warmness of the spice crashing over her. She breathed in, relaxed.

"So Malakai, now that you have me here you've left yourself open to some prying," she said, a small smirk on her face. Despite hating the man that taught her how to use the Force, she still carried some of his traits. Namely his snoopiness. "Surely there's more to you than your business, something interesting?"

He mouthed the words 'bespin fizz' and then smiled at himself with idle curiousity. Kai was sure it tasted decent enough. It was when he started drinking with stranger non-humans that he had to be careful. Some species drank stuff that could be poisonous to others. "Can't pry what's already open." He countered.

"I've recently gotten into Rishii music. I like racing, partying, hmm... Malakai tried to come up with drink conversation. He wasn't sure if it was intentional but the woman started asking more casual than before. But the Grysk would shrug instead of rambling on and trying to guess at what she was curious about. "What do you want to know?" His body settled into its seat a little more and he became a little more comfortable. One of his skeletal like gloved hands rose to run its fingers through his hair out of habit.

"You mind if I snag some of that for myself." He jutted his chin towards her cleavage but meant the drugs she had stashed. The Grysk was not bothered about her keeping the spice beyond the night but he did still want to get his own buzz going. Kai was pretty sure they were fine with spice being consumed here but it was generally wiser and maybe more 'polite' to be discreet. Otherwise he was probably going to have to spring for getting a VIP bouth and bottle service so they could be apart from the rest of the patrons.

That was a good question. What did she want to know? Lilith tipped her head slightly and tapped her lip with her index finger. "Well, I happen to like partying too, but I can't say I've ever raced," she answered at first, giving herself more time to think of a question, although it was getting a bit harder to think the more relaxed the spice made her. The lights and colors in the building were also getting awfully bright but more in a distracting way than an eyesore.

In the meantime the waiter came back and placed both drinks down. He noticed Malakai's gesture and did not take it the way Lilith did before scuttling off again. It wasn't like he didn't see the same type of exchange every night. Lilith, on the other hand, knew what the grysk meant. "Oh right," she answered. She thought he'd have the spice she rolled up for him first, but maybe it wasn't ideal right now. She looked down and grabbed the baggy from her bra, but at the same time got an idea.

As she handed over the baggy she lightly flicked her other wrist, pushing the bespin fizz closer to Kai with the Force. "How about who trained you?" she referred to whatever training he had in the Force and evidently Dark Side.

If he took the spice, she'd then grab her drink and stare at the man with her unnaturally yellow eyes. She was genuinely curious about his answer, and enjoying the chance to be snoopy with someone new, "I might know his or her name," she added. Maybe this man even knew Ender. She had mixed feelings about Ender, but he probably had way more connections than her at this point.

As he reached for the baggy he saw the libation also slide towards him. His eyes moved towards it and then back up to look at the woman. Malakai found her gaze staring back, waiting to see how he reacted to the action.

Taking the spice he would put some of it in his mouth. Not a lot, even less than he had originally intended considering Alais's question. "Dak kurcono...at least it was either that or 'teacher'." He used the force to pull his cool drink directly into his palm and followed the action with a generous sip.

Days of relative isolation had become blurs of time in hindsight. At the time they had been difficult trials. Testing his ability to focus on the Force and making himself even go further with his own training than what his teacher had insisted. It had kept him from Nar Shaddaa and from Tanarra which had caused its own fair amount of issues. Malakai had not heard from his mentor in over a year at least.

Alais had his attention now. The eyes of the Grysk had always been different from normal humans. But he knew that subtle alterations to the person's appearance could happen if immersed in the dark side. Her eyes were definitely different than before. "Who trained you?" It must have happened far more recently. She is full tilt, babe It meant she had delved deeper into the dark side of the force in a much shorter period of time. With his own concern also came curiosity in equal parts.

"Dak kurcono," Lilith echoed, scouring her memory for the name. "Mmm... Haven't heard the name," she said. It wasn't meant as an insult even if it could be taken as one. She simply hadn't met a whole lot of Sith.

She was about to ask another question when Malakai threw his first probing question back at her. Maybe it should've been expected, maybe not because he hadn't asked her anything personal the first round, but either way it caught her off guard and hit her like a truck.

The small amount of murkiness in her eyes cleared at that very moment, leaving only purist of yellow staring back at the man. It was as if a switch went off in her mind. The Dark Side swirled violently around her, feeding off the sudden surge of volatile anger. It seemed to swell from nothing to something almost completely out of her control.

Out of reflex her hands tightened, and fueled by the strength of the Dark Side the glass in her hand shattered. It wouldn't be noticed over the music, laughter and chatter all around, but neither would it be noticed by Lilith herself despite it being so close. Her mind was completely clouded by the sudden spike in anger and the thoughts that caused it, even as blood dripped from the multiple fresh cuts in her hand.

For a handful of heartbeats, as the blood slipped down her pale arm, she stayed still as a statue. It took some time, but she regained enough control to finally speak. "He's dead to me," she hissed between her teeth, choosing not to utter his name.

But the anger continued to drain away as she began to regain more and more of her senses. Her eyes finally settled on her bloody hand, which helped 'sober' her up almost the rest of the way once the very painful mistake dawned on her. Part of her chastised herself for losing control, but the still present spice in her system took the edge off the guilt, at least. "I'll need another drink..." she muttered.

Something about what he said triggered the woman. When he masked his own presence in the Force it was easier when he did not open himself to sense what was around him. It arguably put him at a different kind of disadvantage but even so he could feel the sudden anger in the woman. Not to mention there were much more visible signs between them.

Her answer wasn't a real answer but it still told him something. Malakai chuckled when she mentioned getting a replacement drink. Alais seemed to have forgotten about asking him any more personal questions, at least for the time being. "Can you keep yourself from bleeding all over the table for a couple minutes?" He asked and pushed his glass away. Kai returned the spice baggie a bit more discreetly and stood up. "I'll be right back." The Grysk said simply and went to the bar.

A minute or two would pass before Kai would return but he did not sit back down. "Told the staff the glass broke but despite that we're upgrading. Come on." He turned away from the table and began heading towards the VIP seating which even had a waist high holo-barrier to represent a 'do not cross' line for those not among the party it is reserved for. It was almost like those police 'tape' lines though they said the bar's name instead of 'police' and had little designs that fit with the establishment's music. After tonight Kai's pockets were going to be a bit lighter but that was nothing new. Money came and went.

On the table there was already a bottle sitting in ice. Even the label looked extravagant. While Malakai was sure it was overpriced he was not about to let it go to waste. Plus he was pretty sure they wouldn't be bothered if they decided to smoke the spice his petite companion had rolled on the ride over here. From this seat they had certain separation from the rest of the bar's patrons but a great view of the establishment as well as the Nar Shaddaa sky. Malakai poured a glass for each of them regardless of whether or not the woman had taken his Bespin Fizz from the table. Before taking a sip he pulled out a medipack he kept on him. "Gimme your hand." His own skeleton like palm face up and reaching half way for her to accept it. "I'm sure red is a good color on you but I think you can choose a better way to accent your aesthetic."

When Malakai asked his question Lilith simply nodded and grabbed a napkin. She could've dealt with the issue herself but she wasn't going to refuse any help. With her free hand she wrapped the cloth around her cuts with a bit of a wince, though she'd had much worse. It probably wouldn't make the staff all that happy but it'd at least slow down the bleeding and prevent it from getting all over the table.

The news of the room upgrade prompted her to tip her head slightly in confusion, but she didn't say anything. Lilith just stood up and followed behind the man. Once they past the holo barrier into the room the views and lavishness of it struck her. She wasn't going to complain about being spoiled—it was actually pretty nice and she couldn't remember ever being treated like this outside a cover—but she felt the need to say something, "You know you don't have to go all out, I'm perfectly content with our deal." Lilith paused for a second to turn to the man. "Not that I'm going to demand a downgrade" she laughed.

She took a seat after, watching the man pour the expensive looking wine before asking for her hand. Even though she felt a small pang of paranoia about it, he'd been nothing but kind so far so the young Sith stretched out her hand toward him. His follow up joke helped chase away most of the doubt anyway and she smiled meekly but didn't reply. She wasn't sure how to really. Despite him making light of it, a little more regret was settling in since it was her dominate hand.

"So I never got to ask my follow up question," she said, trying to change the subject and get back to something more comfortable for her: snooping. "How long ago did you join?" she asked, though as far as she knew he could've been born into the Sith.
