DESCRIPTION: | Another one of Rosenthal Galactic's products, though unlike is slightly distant cousin the precursor, this one maintains a marketing scheme that is currently moreso aimed towards military factors than construction ones. Lightly armoured and quick on its feet the GUNWALKER is designed to be able to move around the battlefield like a wasp through flailing arms and provide long distance support to ground troops further up the line from its absurdly powerful 200mm Cannon. With a maximum range of nearly one-hundred kilometers in any direction from where it stands there is little this machine cannot take down a notch. Even if it's lightly armoured and somewhat exposed, the Gunwalker is far from vulnerable. Its design is simple and heavily reinforced where it counts, most small arms are incapable of penetrating the armour it has and the places they can, there's little that any damage will really impede. It also wasn't designed to go alone either, space underneath the walker's deck is dedicated not only to supplies and ammunition for the cannon, but also holds a small armoury and troop transport area so shoudl anyone get close, they're in for a lot more than they might intiially expect. Worse comes to worst, it can always point its gun at you. If a simple artillery piece doesn't suit you, the Gunwalker itself is also fairly modular. The main gun itself is designed to be swapped out if necessary, so if you wanted some other form of machine, whether it be a laser cannon or a large missile battery you can change it out. Hell, if you wanted a straight up personnel carrier you could strip off the gun, and simply pile soldiers in where you gain space, use the weight lost from the machine to pile on extra plates of armour and maybe a shield generator if you feel it necessary. Or simply reinforce it as it and try to make use it as a tank. It's simple enough that just about any idiot with a few tools could make changes to the machine and chassis. People in the construction businesses have even turned to purchasing stripped down models and done a bit of modification to serve as a simple haulers for people, materials, and heavy equipment. |

ARMAMENTS: | -105mm Albrecht Drais- ROF:12*Minute EffectRange: 35Km Direct fire: 2Km The 105mm Albrecht Drais cannon mounted to the Gunwalker punches a hell of a punch. In an age where most conventional shielding systems are built to defend against energy based theats this artillery piece often times gets a free pass in terms of hitting an opponent directly. Its actual offensive power is completely and utterly absurd though largely dependent on what sort of ammunition is fed into the gun, regardless though of whether its packing straight up shells, simple high explosive rounds, or even thermobaric explosives, its power will not match anywhere near to what a turbolaser can accomplish. The simple truth is though is that with well chosen ammunition, only the hardiest of targets could ever hope to survive a direct hit from it. |
ROLE: | Long Distance Artillery |
Intent: | The Gunwalker is both a machine for personal use, and a cheap one that many small groups could afford. At the time of creation, there are precious few walkers and heavier weapons that exist in this fashion that would be suitable for use by the indie factions of SWRP. All the walkers that currently exist are those that are either tied to specific factions, and the ones that are open for people to purchase can be ungodly high-tech and ungodly expensive, not somehting that your average indie faction can afford right off the bat. |
COST: | 60,000 Credits |
