The captain glared at Jace.

'We saw you entering a restricted area, it may have been an accident but there is a chance you saw restricted research areas and so we must take you for questioning.'

In the tunnle it was quiet dark, the forward soldiers all turned on tourches revealing what looked like an old station. The train tunnle was empty and filled with litter that had blown along the tracks, the end of the station where it would have met with the main tracks was boarded off as was the entrance to the street. The soldiers went through a maintanence accesse door and the captain pushed Jace towards it.

'So what exactly are you doing on the planet?'

The man looked Dakar over and gave a sigh. He never enjoyed the ignorence of outsiders, he pittied the man in the chair for what he was going to go through, he knew all to well how bad it was at the start.

'Listen i suppose i can let you go for now just dont go stirring up trouble, the people around here dont like it. Your stuff is in a box over there. The canvas door will lead you to an empty merchant tent its open to the street so youl be hard pressed to get lost on your way out.' The man turned and left, the curtain flowing in the wind.

*Restricted area? Could that have been when he fell in the river? Probably, all the guards on the bridges would make one assume that the area across the river was restricted, probably dangerous. Surely though, they wouldn't be worrying about a Jedi being able to fend for himself over there. It couldn't be that terrible, could it?

His thoughts were interrupted by a hard shove into a maintenance room. He turned around to take a glance at the man who was pushing him, just looked like a typical rank and file soldier. Even less than a Mandalorian. He could probably take him if he wanted, but having an entire planet's army against you is not something you want.*

"I'm just on a damn vacation. Something was crawling up my robes, I stood up and slipped into the river. It was my bad, I saw nothing, can I go?"

'Its standard procedure, unless you have authaurity of the republic or a pass from one of the higher memebers here we need to question you and do background checks on any affiliations you might have. Now first off state your name and what organization you belong to as an employee.'

The soldier looked Jace over, the man dressed funny but that wasn't surprising in such a vast galaxy.

Lysander heard the commotion nearby, towards the north - the river. He looked up to see a man in soaked robes walking down the street. He looked familiar, but his wet exterior made it impossible for the cyber to be sure. He was soon overtaken by a group of guards as he came before a convoy ahead, and brought into the house they had come from. Lysander was curious. The Jedi did not seem to be doing anything against them - and his little drop into the river surely was not on purpose or he would have tried to come out on the other side. It was curious enough to him that he stood from the bench and looked up. The balcony above him was empty, and it was close enough to that building's roof for him to do a power-jump across. He just had to be careful - the place looked rather rickety, and he definately didn't want to fall through a roof onto a room full of guards.

After-all, the Jedi was his target first and foremost. So he walked out a little way onto the street, toward the alley in the opposite row of buildings. Just as he got inside it he flung his right arm back and a pair of grapplers shot out from under the sleeve of his robe. They connected with the wall behind the balcony railing, and Lysander locked the lines in his arm. Then he activated his HUD, reversed the gear, and added the power from the suit - he was soaring toward the balcony in seconds. He hit the rail with his left arm as he came up, and rolled to a stop. He collided with the wall and his grapplers retracted back into his arm.

Lysander stood, checking his mechanical arm for any damage. The HUD showed green, just a pain sensation from the suit's nervous system, now serving as his own, as the nerves themselves were scattered by the impact and now rushed back into place. Lysander looked over - he was in prime position to make the jump over, afterall. He checked the street and windows below - everyone was gone, only the convoy ahead and there was no way they would see him beyond the second story of the rickety building. He would need to be quick in getting inside, though.

Lysander climbed up to the second story roof of the building he was on to get an even better view - the target was just some-twenty yards away. He could jump it, but it'd put a lot of strain on the suit's simulated muscle fibers from the jump itself. He concentrated... ...nothing could be wrong. The slightest miscalculation on his part, and it could fail - he would doubtless hit the ground hard enough to do some damage, and the noise would inevitably lead some guards over to his location.

He focused, and waited. At last he ran across the roof, at the same time activating his suit's muscle augmentation. The suit expanded and changed to adapt to the new muscles and strength index, and Lysander put all of his power into his jump. He kicked off of the edge of the building and soared through the sky. The robes he had been wearing tore off as he zipped over the small house in-between the one he'd leapt from and the rickety building where the Jedi was taken. His mech-suit gleamed in the sun, and then he landed with a terrible thud. He'd overshot it big time.

His body twisted and batted as it rolled, sparks flying as he at last came to a skidding halt toward the edge of the rooftop. He looked over in time to see an officer in the military corps. start to look around toward the house. He rolled away from the side of the roof and prayed the man hadn't seen him. He was there - now to get inside. He crouched and made his way over to the center of the roof, and activated something he seldom used - a fusion cutter that could be deployed from under his right forearm. He aimed and then lowered his visor again, and then activated the laser to cut through the roof.

It was a delicate process, carving out the square, because at the same time he would have to keep it from dropping and causing too much racket down below. He tried to think of a way to do this, and elected the grapplers on his left arm. When he was about 3/4ths of the way done, he activated one of the grapplers and latched it onto the dislodged part. He finished cutting the final line and pulled it out gently from its former holding. It was just large enough for him to fit through, and he activated all four grappler hooks onto the rooftop nearby so that he could rappel down to the second floor. The dust immediately cloaked his visor, and he had to wipe it off again and again as he proceeded. There was a guard behind the wall up ahead, moving back and forth ever-so-often. He was guarding the stairwell down around the elevator shaft. It was then Lysander noticed there was no working cable for the elevator - it was gone.

He creeped past the guard as best he could, and activated the integrated stealth field projector on his suit once he saw that he would have to move past him. It took a second or two to boot up and copy the surrounding images, but soon he was as good as invisible to the naked eye. Lysander proceeded delicately past the guard as he moved back again toward where he'd began, and then gently made his way down the staircase. A guard stood in the hall ahead, but that wasn't where he was going - the mesh door into the elevator shaft was open, and the shaft itself had a large hold with a ladder proceeding down. Lysander checked his surroundings one more time, and then started down.

*Jace's senses kicked in as he felt somebody else was going to join them shortly. The abundance of people who were sneaking around on one planet was more than suprising to him, but at the moment he had more pressing issues. He had never been interrogated before, it was actually quite the rush. Hopefully the newcomer would have no malicious intent.*

"I am Jace Kyjar of the Jedi Order. Who are you?"

Guardsman Oila had never enjoyed being on this planet. Infact he loathed it. It was hot a dusty in one place then with just a few steps it was warm and damp everywhere. He had only joined up because his parents had forced him too. They had been part of the coloney for a long time and had know it had secrets. When the coloney started recruiting for soldiers they signed him up in a hope he could find out something, he had always hated his paranoid parents too. The guardsmen were kept underground and usualy saw nothing of the northern river. Still it was a job and it got him away from them. He was always looking for excitement in the boring proffesion and when he felt the small pebbles hitting his shoulder and looked up to see the shine of metal he felt a small rush. He imediatly got on the radio with his captain and informed him. The reply was harsh.

'I don't care what you think you saw, our job is not to investigate DUST! Once the convoy ends were meant to head back and hit the downtime, you can spend yours following the shiney things if you want. But if you damage any of the equipment it will not be covered and you will be paying for it yourself.'

Oila could see the end of the convoy approaching and the soldiers breaking off one by one. He got the captain was trying to demoralize him out of going but it wouldn't work, as the end of the convoy went past he grabbed the fire ladder behind him and headed to the roof. He saw the hole in the roof but thought it best not to contact his supiriors. He climbed down carefuly onto the stairs and jumped the collapsed part, slipped, and ended up at the bottom of the stairs. The guard on duty there just turned round and laughed.

'What do you think your doing coming through the roof?'

Oila looked embaressed but knew he couldnt give up. He considered telling the truth but this arrogant guy wouldnt believe him so it was time to lie.

'Im here to relieve you. I was late so i came for a shortcut.'

The guards arrogance disapeared and was replaced with reliefe as he slouched and wondered off. Oila headed down the ladder into the dark tunnle.

The captain looked shocked at this. He backed away from Jace and consulted the guard near to him.

'What should we do? We cant take him to the Governor he will have us killed'

The guard looked shocked that his oppinion was being taken.

'We could kill him and pretend we had nothing to do with it?'

The captain looked ready to hit his soldier.

'And bring more Jedi here? Are you insance? look just make sure he stays here and doesn't move. Il take the access tunnles and get to the administration, theyl know what to do.'

The gaurd saluted and him and three other guards in the room stood at attention facing the jedi.

As far as he could see, Rogal had three choices. He could take these two on, and incur the wrath of the authorities, he could try to escape by leaping to another rooftop, or... he could go quietly...

Though, going quietly wasn't his style. And he didn't feel like running away, so, the two soldiers were about to get a nice surprise.

Raising his arms, he turned to face the two men, smiling.

Can I help you, officers?

He didn't give them time to reply, quickly reaching out with the force and smashing their heads together. He chuckled as they collapsed. They didn't look dead, but they didn't look awake either. Perfect!

He decided to carry on up into the building, see if there was anything more to find, or if he could see anything more from up here.

Lysander landed on the ground gently, and creeped over behind a pile of broken train equipment. He peeked over and saw the Jedi in a chair. Two men left towards the exit, leaving four others standing at-attention in front of the Jedi. They watched him like hounds, this Jedi wasn't getting out any time soon. Lysander heard feet shuffle above him, and felt dust land into his hair (as invisible as it was). He turned and looked up to see a young guard climbing down the ladder.

Perfect, he thought to himself. He extended both of his forearm blades, as they came over his hands he brought them up near to his chest. He waited as the young man continued down, but his eyes returned to the Jedi and his captors. Why were they keeping him? Did they fear an uprising if the people learned that a Jedi had come, or were they afraid that what they were doing wouldn't exactly earn them the good graces of the Republic?

He overheard the suggestion of killing the man from one of the guards, but his superior quickly denied him such an option. He said 'the administration will know what to do' if Lysander heard correctly. So the Jedi wouldn't die by their hands, marvelous. The boy overhead was getting closer. Lysander looked up again to notice that there was a large outcropping of rock in the wall not to far from where he was. He whipped out both arms and shot all four grappler cords toward the wall above it just as the young guard overhead was getting too close for comfort.

Lysander jolted through the air, his stealth field struggling to copy the images around his body fast enough to keep his camouflage perfectly adjusted. When he landed on the rock, in the shadows, his camo acted like it wanted to fail on him, but he activated a quick new jolt of power to kickstart it back on track. He remained invisible, and he activated his audial amplifiers to listen in on what was going on from where he was.

By the time Rogal reached the top floor he had gone up six storeys. He could see the canvas coveres hung from builds over the streets from the top from here. He could also see the mountains in the far distance behind the vast jungles. Though the buildings on the northern back were strategicly positions with the largest ones in front to stop anyone from looking past them. As he climbed on to the rooftop he realised that there wernt many roofs near by he could jump to as most of them were below the canvases.

Noises from below caused Rogal to look down the stairs and he could see gaurds coming up towards him.

The Advisor stepped into Governors office like he usualy did, except this time instead of being greeted by warm air and silence someone else was here.

'...Governor the hospital needs to expand drasticly. I know it was simple before, we looked after your patients and we got to perform our research here but now were looking after something more than a patient.'

The Advisors face went pale and the Governor slammed his glass down. The Advisor ran forward to question the doctor.

'WHAT ARE YOU DOING I TOLD YOU NOT TO TELL HIM!'

The doctor, startled by the advisors entrance turned to him.

'That was before the others! We assumed you would have told him now that the others had arrived!'

The advisor wasnt sure what to say so he just opened his mouth and let any sound come out.

'They have been coming in ever since we recovered the relic. We cant find any thing wrong with them but they all have the same symptoms.'

The Governor with an extream expression of confusion stepped forward.

'What are you two going on about?' He boomed.

The doctor turned to the Governor.

'Well ever since we brought the artifact from the ruins to the base researchers have started to become ill. Its a strange illness. They become violent towards people. They are still aware of everyone and everything they can talk but they begin to try and kill everyone. They begin to mumble about how something has chosen them.'

The Governor gave no sign of worry on his worn old face.

'So then why do you need more space? Surely with these new patients you have plenty to research?'

The doctors face went grave.

'We thought so too, out wards were filling up fast but we cant keep them together, they dont see each other as the same even if they are ill like them. They become ruthless killers using anything they can as weapons. We need to keep each one in an individual isolation.'

The Governor turned to the Advisor.

'I am appauled that you didnt tell me this Kelpan, but now is not the time. What can you tell me about this illness?'

The Advisor motioned for the doctor to leave.

'Si..r The researchers have put together quite and extensive log of their findings i will show you them. They are kept in one of the research facilities near the edge of the forrest.'

The captain left the enteragation room and jumped onto some tracks, the gaurd near him looked worried as he drew his weapon. He used it to blast a hole in the wooden boards blocking the old tunnles. He turned to the guard with him.

'Its faster this way, we should be able to get into the sewers from here then we can get straight to the river and across the bridge.'

He climbed through the small hole he had make and began walking down the dark tunnles, only able to see the small circle of light his torch made.

More guards... fantastic. And now he was far enough up to risk death, even for a strong force user, if he tried to leap off.

And even better, there was enough guards to make a fight risky. Not impossible, mind. But risky. Well, they'd know he was dangerous now. Capture would prove just as risky as fighting. But fighting would leap to a more risky capture.

So, much against his usual nature, he simply raised his hands and called down to the rushing guards.

I surrender!

And then the thought struck him that they were going to take his lightsaber. He would not be at all impressed if he didn't get it back...

The guards reached the top of the stairs and cuffed Rogal. They began to search him when they came across his lightsaber. The guard threw it across the floor as a reaction and took a few steps back raising his weapon.

'Keep your guns on him men.'

One of the guards looked at him.

'Sir?'

The captain looked round and almost pulled his trigger with nerves.

'Hes a jedi. i think, he has one of those saber things. Another captain found a jedi a few moments ago and has him in custody in a small maintenence room. He broadcasted about it on a secure captain to captain channle. We should just hold him here for now and see what the other captain reports later. You two!' He pointed to two guards closest to the stairs 'Go down and make sure the building it totaly secure, no one gets in. GO!'

The two guards hurried off, glad to be away from Rogal.

The captain and the other soldier were far away enough now that Lysander could maybe get in behind the remaining four guards without attracting too much attention. As long as the young man didn't get involved or have a radio on him, the meeting with the Jedi would probably go well. Otherwise, Lysander's bout probably would attract a large amount of attention... ...decisions, decisions. He aimed his right arm upward carefully, trying to find a point on the ceiling that looked sturdy enough to support his weight. He shot one grappler cord, and it stuck well. He tugged it, it should support him. He jumped off the rock and swung over the tracks toward the interrogation room, his camouflage again spazzing out. He slid to a halt right behind the guards, and the adaptive stealth field gave out.

They all four turned, and all four instantly had a grappler cord stuck to their chests. Lysander cursed as he prepared the electrical charge. All four men rose up their rifles with alarmed looks on their faces, confused at what was going on. They didn't recognise the man, if he was a man at all, and they didn't like whatever it was he was going to do with those four cords stuck on them. Lysander would have to do it quick, and pray his heart didn't give out from the shock.

He activated the currents and the guards yelled out as electricity coursed through their bodies. Lysander glowed and then lightning danced across his entire body. He screamed too as the pain gripped him. The Jedi and the room were illuminated in the flashing lights until finally Lysander managed to cut off the electrical current. The guards fell to the floor paralyzed, Lysander hit the wall clutching his chest. He'd held it on for too long, his heart was shocked all-to-hell. He looked up at the Jedi once before expanding his visor over his face again, trying to focus and calm his body.

At least the energy he used went right back inside him, he figured. He stood and let go of his chest - his heart seemed to be beating normally now, or as normally as it ever would now that it was half-prosthetic. He observed the Jedi, and the unconscious guards. Or maybe they really were dead? He didn't know, and he didn't care.

"I didn't come here just to save you, Jedi." Lysander explained, "I want to know what's going on."

Oila saw the light show across the tracks, reaching for his radio he found it crumpled and inoperable, most likely from falling down the stairs. He made a sprint for the hole in the boards at the tunnle entrance hoping to find the captain.

*Jace was sitting in the chair the entire time, listening with the force at what the guards were talking about. Apparently, Jedi were not very welcome on this planet. They were talking about killing him, then about taking him to the government instead. He was but a Jedi Padawan, such attention being focused on him and not the Sith Lord who was also on planet was fool hardy. Again though, his thoughts were interrupted.

As the interrogater left the room and up the tunnell, a new man...ish type thing appeared out of nowhere. He quickly made work of the remaining guards, electrifying them into unconciousness. One was dead, Jace could feel that through the force, the others simply knocked out. He stood up and dusted off his robes, smiling.*

"Thanks. I didn't want to do that myself. I have no clue whats happening, but I am in danger for falling in a river. Stupid planet..."

*Jace sensed that someone was rushing down the stairwell and ignited his blue lightsaber, the dark room becoming illuminated.*

"Be ready."

As his lightsaber was thrown across the roof, everyone on the roof reacted badly. Seeing as he was the one with the power up here, really, he decided that he may as well add to their fears...

One of you better pick that up, or I swear, you will ALL suffer for it...

He smiled at them all, and leant closer to the nearest one, and half whispered,

Oh, and I'm a Sith, not a Jedi.

He leant back to his prior position, and looked around him, acting like all this was new. Tapping a foot slightly, he grinned and said.

So, what now?

The captain looked at Rogal and was afraid but he couldnt let his men be demoralized from this sith. He reached over and picked up his lightsaber and put it in his pocket. The two men he sent down earlier returned and began to explain they had locked the doors. The captain turned and shot one of them through the shoulder, he collapsed and rolled down the stairs, he turned and addressed the other guard on the stairs.

'Get him some medical attention. The rest of you men do not be afraid of this sith be afraid of me. He is unarmed, i have no quarrels with shooting any of you if you let this man demoralize you.'

He watched as all the men straightened their backs but there was still shaking in their hands.

"Wait! I-"

A series of beeps played through his HUD. Warning signs flashed all-around, and red arrows appeared. THREAT DETECTED came up over and over, most on the surface above but three pointing toward another point in the abandoned subway. Lysander looked up and all-around, almost blinded by the constant pop-ups. He activated HUD-CONTROL and turned off the pop-up threat alert system, instead setting it to 'sound and marker'. He could see again, and the blue light of the Jedi's weapon reminded him of his father again. The man's clothing was a lot like his, and the nauseating sense of deja'vu paralyzed Lysander for a moment.

"Well... ...I almost forgot about that boy coming down the ladder." Lysander remarked.

"Let's get one thing straight..." He began, "...I despise your kind, but according to my display... ...let's just say once we're out of here the military is going to be all-over us, and I'm in no mood to be pulverized. I'd say the same goes for you."

He drew his vibrosword and activated the vibration cell. The blade rattled and heated, ready to cleave. Lysander also had his flamethrower deployment on standby incase it took more than a blade. He ran a system check - as usual, everything but the shocker mechanism came up green. His body was normal again, he was ready.

Rogal grinned, enjoying the show. He chuckled quietly, causing some of the guards to give him very odd looks, which only amused him all the more

Oh, i'm never unarmed.

Laughing loudly, he winked at the nearest guard.

I'd listen to him, y'know. He's got the right attitude... So, guys, we're just gonna sit here and wait? Or... do we have any plans for little old me?

The civilians were not used to seeing te trucks stop in the city, yet three of them had all parked outside a derelict building. At least 30 soldiers went into the building.

One of the captains looked down the small hole and threw a smoke grenade down.

'We can only go one at a time so make it fast and jump the last few feet, More men!'

They started pouring down the hole into the old station, taking up defensive positions behind whatever rubble they could. They all took aim at the maintenence room. It seemed like a dance on the wall with the red laser pointers all aiming through the open doorway at the two figures illuminated by blue in the dark.

One of the guards watching Rogal began to chuckle with the dark lord.

The captain looked from one to the other. 'What are you doing to him!'

Some of the other guards took aim at their comrade. As he laughed he slowly raised his weapon to point at the other guards. One of the ones next to the captian opened fire and sent a single shot into the laughing guards abdomen. He stumbled for a moment that regaind his posture and opened fire on the nearest guard sending a line of shots up his torso ending with three in his head. The other guards opened fire on the laughing man, the force of the combined bullets sending him out of the window. The captain began to bring his weapon round to the sith lord.

'This is your doing OPEN FIRE!' The captain yelled as all the men turned.

Rogal laughed as the scene devolved into chaos, but stopped as soon as the guards brought their weapons to bear against him.

Oh.

Acting quickly, he pulled his blade towards him, turning his body so he could catch it from behind him. Activating the blade, his wrists were freed from each other, but the cuffs remained individually on each wrist.

Just before the guards unleashed the first volley, a second one was thrown out of the window, plummeting to his death, untouched by anything but the force.

The guards weapons all opened fire, and Rogal had no intention of getting shot. Leaping towards the group, he flipped mid-air, and dropkicked a third out of the window, and slashed from the ground at the ankles of a fourth, leaving him screaming and writhing on the floor.

Though now, he was on the floor faced by a good number of angry guards...

Focusing harder than he had in a long time, he unleashed a roar so loud that it forced the guards to cry out and shield their ears, most dropping their weapons.

He used the time he had bought to fight once more, stabbing one guard through the chest, whilst choking another through the force. Soon enough, there was only the captain left capable of fighting.

Putting his willpower, and the force behind his words, he spoke simply and quietly,

Run away. Go home and live.

However, his blade was still lit, and ready to attack or defend himself, as needs be.
