From what I was hearing from NPR (yes, I listen to the news rather than music about butts), what happened in regards to the child rapist case was that she was court-mandated to represent the rapist. She was surprised when he was found not guilty. Her laugh in regards to how ridiculous it was that the rapist got off scott-free.

And for the Trump supporters who want to say 'that's just what she's claiming the situation is', remember that you're also defending trump's claims that his 'genital-grabbing talk' was just 'locker room talk' (wtf is that anyway) and he was only joking and didn't mean it nor has he ever done so, aka commit sexual assault.

Also, bonus question for Trump supporters: at what point would you actually consider that Trump is a pretty terrible leader? Like, what does he have to do to lose your support at this point?

Well, according to Trump himself, not even murder would detract his supporters. So... maybe if he took off his obviously-a-wig hair to reveal he's actually Snooki?

Its mostly a mix of hyper-partisanship, an arguably well-founded hatred of the establishment, and some general human awfulness.

I'll be honest with you. Pretty much nothing will make me not support Trump. Like I've said before I much prefer him to the alternative option. I'm not going to defend what he said, as I find it probably just as bad as you do (probably). But I do think he's better than Hillary.

@Gamov @Green Ranger

Thanks for responding to my list earlier in the thread. I may respond tomorrow, maybe not. I just wanted to see how you justified them.

You are everything that's wrong with America.

The same could be said for the other half of the spectrum.

Also, I'll have you know that I remember reading a poll a little while back. Basically it said that 9/10 voters have already decided what candidate they are voting for and that they were locked in on that choice. Also another poll said that somewhere around like 67% of the voters are strictly voting because of the fear that the other candidate might win.

So I'm not alone. Many others feel the same way as I do and that feeling, I'm sure, is on both sides of the equation.

But seriously though, thanks for answering my question, because it means there's no point in me continuing to engage you. Your criticisms of Clinton are flimsy at best, desperately grasping at straws at the worst, and just plain lies in the juicy middle, yet you'll forgive Trump for quite literally everything he's said so far and will continue to do so regardless.

That's basket of deplorables style mentality. It also is massively toxic to democracy as a whole, because it enables candidates of utterly terrible quality to build a following and gain traction.

A fair few members in this discussion are of the opinion of 'how did we get to two candidates this terrible?' I don't agree with the sentiment entirely, but if you want better candidates, then you've got to root out the toxic, blind and ignorant support of this nature from the voting base, because this is exactly the kind of attitude that has allowed Trump to get this far.

tl;dr You are everything that's wrong with America.

Fweh, there are more reasons than even the ones Mr. Bossman described why I'm not voting for Clinton

War Hawk, voted for Iraq, check
Supports the failure that is Obamacare, check
No-Fly Zone in Syria will precipitate conflict with Russia, check
Economic plan will cause economy to dip before it actually "gets better in 10 years," check
Former supporter of Barry Goldwater, check
Against gay rights until the polls told her to be for them, check
Committed perjury during her hearings with the FBI, check
Introduced no major legislation as a Senator, check
First First Lady to be criminally investigated in the history of the United States, check.
Iran deal (lol). Check.
Basically running for president on the grounds she'll be the first woman to be prez alone, check.
She wouldn't be winning if the only candidate on earth that would make her look good wasn't running against her (except perhaps Ted Cruz or Jeb "He's a Mess" Bush). check.

Check check check check motherflipping check. This isn't even kooky stuff that people make up, these are just the simple, verifiable facts.

I'm not voting for either candidate come the eighth, and I'm sorry for those that think she's really what she says she is. There's a reason why people see her as a creature of politics, and even if there was not one single criminal scandal to her name, there would be more than enough dirt on her public actions and statements for me to just say no.

I want the first woman in the Oval Office to be someone worthy of that damned distinction.

Wow.

Funny how a man, who I'm pretty sure is Australian, is going to lecture me on what's good for America. Then go so far as to say, I'm what's wrong with it. And then have the audacity to tell me what's good for Democracy. Then again I reckon its easy to assume things when one does not know you personally. Believe it or not I'm shipping out to the Marine Corps come January 3rd. Infantry.

Don't lecture me on what's good for Democracy. As I'll be doing more to protect it then most others.

Friendly deplorable to another.

Kinda jumping in to this conversation, but are you trying to say that America is the only country that has Democracy, or that only Americans know how Democracy works, or that the fact that you are planing on serving in an army somehow makes you automatically more knowledgeable about how Democracy works?

Being American doesn't mean you know more about what's good for America.

Being American doesn't mean you have a better understanding of democracy.

Being in the Marine Corps doesn't mean I'm not allowed to criticise your views and opinions.

Being in the military in this day in age is far from 'protecting democracy.' America's democracy isn't under attack from foreign powers. It's under attack from people like Trump and/or Pence who would willingly strip away the human rights of LGBTQ, ship off immigrants who have a right to be here and degrade women back into the 1950's.

I agree with the above in that you, sir, are exactly what's wrong with America.

So, what you're saying is that you've done absolutely nothing so far? Come back when you've at least done something to earn that argument (even though it still won't be a logical one). You already missed the good wars.

Boot. smdh.

Ugh, I got excited yesterday when an "Endorse General Mattis" advertisement popped up on my Facebook feed yesterday. I know it's bullshit, but deep down inside I'm still hoping he runs in and saves the day, because then at least I'll have a better choice than hoping we get hit with a meteor in the next few months. This campaign season has been so embarrassing that it's already causing problems for us overseas. Our allies are terrified that we might actually elect this maniac. I'm out here trying to do a job, and all the locals want to do is talk about Trump and Hillary.

Before you throw rotten tomatoes at me, I'd just like to say that it's not an easy thing to be a conservative on this forum (especially this thread). I applaud you @Kaane and @bossman for attempting to make your points.

@Loco, cut BossMan some slack. I actually didn't read his military service post above as a him pointing to his accolades ; just merely pointing to his service to America.

I will not. Partially because he has no accolades to point to, but mostly because using your (pseudo)veteran status as the defense or basis for any sort of political argument is absurd- especially considering the number of vets of differing opinions we have or have had on this site. If this is the type of attitude he has going in, he's gonna have a hard boot ahead of him... and also in his ass.

As for having a conservative stance on basically anything on this site... yeah, that's why I don't join in on gun debates here anymore :p

He should be able to bring up his military career. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I hope you all don't discredit his opinions simply because he has no real war time combat days under his proverbial belt.

That's all.

I'm liberal, but if I thought the conservative party member was better, that's who i'd vote. I don't die hard follow party lines. But it's not about being liberal or being conservative. It's about Donald Trump being a lunatic.
