Elidan felt terribly uncomfortable for being in there. It wasn’t that the mansion of a super rich politician of Drearia was bad. It had gardens, pools, libraries and a ton of other stuff that the half-Annfyn never dreamed of seeing in his entire life. And everything was huge. He was pretty sure that the entire Jedi Temple of Sernpidal could fit inside this place.
The reason for him being uncomfortable came from the fact that he was at a party. Elidan really wasn’t a fan of this type of social event, even less one full of people that he didn’t know. The worst part was that they were staring at him as if he was some exotic thing. And the owner of the mansion and host of the party, Duke Alecto, was happily encouraging this situation.
By this point he was pretty sure that the Duke had only wanted the Jedi here because he wanted to show everyone how close he was with the Order, which was true. The man was their greatest benefactor at the moment. Whoever was giving the mission these days thought that it would be a great idea to satisfy him with two Jedi in this party, because it was an opportunity for them to find new allies among the nobility.
Because the Order could really use some new donations.
Unfortunately, Elidan had no success in winning new benefactors. He had selective mutism and was incapable of uttering one word to the other guests. The Knight only wanted to go away. Now he was avoiding the Duke and everyone else, while nursing a glass of wine in a corner of the ballroom.
He wondered if his partner was being luckier.
