A young human male sat on a bunk of the transport dormitories, short brown hair shifting into wierd patterns as the boy blew the bangs from his eyes. Skrawny shoulders shrugged as the robe slipped over his shoulders. Blackwell, a powerful Force user, for an untrained being, suddenly stopped the mental argument he had been having with himself and raised a palm.

Across the room, a table lifted. Seething with anger at losing a debate with himself, Blackwell threw the table at the wall, but stopped it just before impact. The object stopped, but the multiple items on the surface of the table slid off. With a another twist of the Force, Blackwell caught them, and drew them into an orbit around his head. Smiling at his skills, he let them drop, then began a juggling motion with the items.

A sudden impulse caused Blackwell to shift his focus to the wall chrono, and the table and other items dropped to the floor. A particularly large flimsi-weight fell unceremoniously on his head. Cursing himself, the 15 year old used the Force to put all and sundry back again, and, beginning a slow jog, left the room to find the loading ramp, the faster to get to the Shade Temple on Thyferra. The meeting with his new Master in the Shade Order was nigh.

Criax walked through the transport station, Normal in control. This place was more of a pick-up point than an actualy training site. Criax would take the young Blackwell to the Shade enclave on Thyferra for further training.

Can't I come out and train him? Maniac asked.

I've decided you can do Force training while I do lightsaber training, Normal replied, slightly annoyed that this was the fifth time they'd had the conversation.

Fine, Maniac said, still disappointed he wasn't allowed to do all training.

And don't make me look stupid infront of this boy, either. Normal's mental tone was stern. His only reply was the mental image of him giving himself the cold shoulder. The image brough a small smile to his face.

Criax walked onto the shuttle and searched for the young Blackwell. He found a Fore-sensitive and he seemed to have a very angry presence. He fit the description better than anyone else there. He approcahed the boy and said, "Hello Blackwell, I'm your Shade Master. My name is Criax Vandreen." As he said this he shook the boy's hand.

"Nice to meet you, Master.", the boy said as he shook Craixs' hand. As soon as the appendages met, though, Blackwell stopped: He could sense two entities in one body. One, brilliant and insane, the other, smooth and in control. Both of the dualities boasted enormous power, though, so the boy let it drop.

"I don't mean to sound impatient, Master, but I am excited to learn. Might we begin immediatly?"

Criax chuckled lightly then said, "We'll begin with as much Force training as we can do on the ship then we'll have more to do at the enclave." Criax took Black well to an empty area of the ship and sat down cross-legged. He motioned for the bot to do the same and asked, "What do oyu know of the Force?"

Blackwell took a moment to answer. The boy knew of the Force. He felt it everyday, buzzing around him, a fire, the greatest fire, and it was his to control.

"A fire. The Force is like a fire, where I can reach my hand out and take the fuel source in my hands, and direct it to my control. It's powerful, ancient, enigmatic, and wonderful. An energy field with feeling and a personality."

"That's quite the intersting way of seeing it." Criax puased a few seconds before saying, "Now tell me how you think the Force should be used."

ooohhh, Blackwell thought, a question to find out if I'm one of the ones that'll go bad...well, better answer the uniform way. Don't want any suspicions yet. During this, the boy thought other thoughts, to disguise his true feelings.

"The Force", he began, "Should be used to help establish order, to find a compromise, to show peace, and help the lives and sould who cannot grasp it."

Criax nodded, it was a good answer. He glanced up and saw they were nearly to their destination. "Now what do you know of the Shade Code?" he asked.

"My emotion makes me. My knowledge guides me. My passion drives me. My strength enables me. My harmony balances me. I walk the shaded path." Blackwell said, then drew in a breath. "This is the truth, and the path to a greater understanding of the Force."

And, the boy thought, The path to greatness for a skilled, ambitious youth. As he thought this, Blackwell clouded his minds with other thoughts and emotions.

Criax nodded slowly and stole a quick glance at the monitor and saw they were nearing the Shade enclave.

"Now we'll do a bit of Force training," Normal announced and he felt excitment emit from the area of his brain Maniac resided in.

Maniac was handed control of the body immediately after and the excitemnt burned as hot as the stars flying past the ship. "First, lift that chair," Maniac said and pointed to a chair in the room.

Lift a chair? A chair? That task was astonishingly easy. However, just as Blackwell was about to make the chair crash into the starboard wall hard enough to vent them both, he held back: Should he show the true depth of his power? Or just do what was asked of him?

Sighing inwardly, the boy focused the fire raging inside of him and surrounded the chair, until, in the Force, it was engulfed in flames. The chair raised to head level and waited, motionless.

Maniac nodded. It was a simply task but allowed him to see a small scope of Blackwell's power. From his pocket Normal took out metal shavings and threw them into the air. He manipulated them into circles in the air with the Force. "Guide that chair through these rings," Maniac said and began to make the rings spin and generall jump around the room.

Oooohh, a challenge. An average Force-wielder would use a large amount of concentration to guide the chair, but Blackwell would guide the rings. The fire that was the Force burned the air all around the metal shaving rings, making it all but impossible for them to stay in any place but a direct path in front of the chair. Granted, the rings still moved, but the movements were smaller, and the boy moved the chair through with relative ease.

Maniac smiled. An imaginative young lad, this one was. He let the shavings fall to the ground and then he spread them out evenly with the Force. It took only a few seconds to do.

"You will now make a picture by moving around these metal shavings. Make whatever you wish." The exircise would require much concentration but Maniac thought the boy could pull it off.

A picture? This was a new one to Blackwell. But, it would test his finesse with the Force.

He spread the metal into an even grid, but it wasn't easy. After fifteen minutes, finally, the scraps were organized, and the boy could focus on a picture...but what to draw? So many possibilities...

Wait a sec, the Blackwell thought as epiphany struck him,why not create an image of how I see the Force? A flame, a burning conflagration, igniting life within us all. With that, he spread his hand, and a half hour later a striking image of a flame lay on the floor.

Sweat stood out on Blackwell's brow as he collapsed onto the floor,. breathing heavily. "Got any water on you?" he asked.

((I so knew he would make fire. :CHappy:))

Criax watched intently as the boy went about making an image out of the shavings. Eventually he finsihed and the image of a flame was revealed. Maniac smiled as Kaiser fell to the floor, ruining the picture he had made. The boy asked him for water so Maniac tossed him a bottle of the liquid. While the boy drank Maniac gathered up the shavings and held it into a ball shape. It was about three times the size of a person's head.

He suspended the ball of loose metal in the air and when the boy finished the bottle of water he said, "You will compress this mass of metal into the size of your palm using the Force. Back at Thyferra we'll use larger objects but this will do for now."

Blackwell sighed. This would take a lot out of him, more then what was left after the art and hoop trial. Ah well. Swigging the last of the water, he stood up and focused on the big globe of metal.

The Force burned and roared around the boy, and with a wave of his hand, the conflagration crackled towards the metals. Moving his arms like a meistro at an opera, Blackwell moved the fire that was the Force until it engulfed the ball completely.

To the casual oberver, the ball appeared to ripple, and gradually shrink to half it's size, around the diameter of a basketball. Then, with a sudden spasm, Blackwell fell to the ground, out cold.

Normal took control as soon as the boy collapsed. He set the boy down on a sofa in the corner of the room and began lecturing Maniac.

Idiot! You make him do an extremely intricate painting then hae him compress metal! What kind of dumb move is that?

It was his own choice for whether he made the picture detailed or not. He just decided to show off, Maniac replied in a casual tone.

But you knew he was going to show off, you idiot.

Shut up, both of you, Demented interrupted. The ship is about to land.

You're right, Normal replied as he walked over to the boy and slung him over his shoulders. He exited the ship and in a few minutes hhe was at the Shade Enclave. As he walked through the structure the boy began to wake up.

"Welcome to Thyferra," Criax told the boy. "I'm taking you to a room where you can rest. Find me outside after you've had awhile to regain your energy."

A few minutes later Normal set Blackwell down on a bed in one of the dormitory rooms, turned around, and walked outside to meditate on a rock.

Through half-open eyes, Blackwell scanned the room, unsure as he was about his whereabouts. Upon full awakening, he realized this was his new home on Thyferra. Nice enough.

Reaching into the Force, he located his new Master outside, meditating. Blackwell walked briskly out of the enclave, and sat himself cross-legged on the ground, awaiting Criax's instruction.

Criax opened his eyes to see the boy sitting in fornt of him. "Now you have a choice," Normal told him. "You can either train with a lightsaber," here he held up one hand the continued, "or we could continue in the ways of the Force." As he finsihed his statement he held up his other hand and moved them up and down as if they were part of a small scale.
