"And you just sealed the door shut... how, exactly?" Deskar asked as he wiped down the bar at the end of the night. The evening had begun the transition into early morning on the Smuggler's Moon and the Besalisk had shut down the bar an hour prior and begun to clean the establishment with the young Togrutan server he had hired a few weeks prior. Aska usually had the privilege of sticking around and keeping the pair company as they worked away and that typically came with a few free drinks on the house. Tonight was no different.
"Does it matter?" Aska joked as she slowly spun her cup on the counter, observing the cubes of ice swirl in the liquid. Watching her do this, Deskar scowled then reached out with his one of his giant hands and plucked the drink from her grasp, wiped the surface below with his cloth held in another hand and tossing a coaster down with yet another before setting the glass back down.
"You know, with how arrogant you are I'm surprised someone hasn't burnt a hole in you yet, Aska," The Togruta woman spoke up with a playful smile as she brought a tray full of dirty dishes to the back. They had met a few nights prior but Aska had only learned tonight that her name was Quinri and she quickly found herself fascinated by the woman. She had the same cavalier attitude to life and the air around Quinri always seemed to bring energy to the people she conversed with.
"Not from a lack of effort on their part," Aska joked after her before turning back to Deskar once the Togruta had disappeared into the kitchens. Making sure she was out of ear shot, Aska leaned across the bar and motioned for her gargantuan friend to do the same, of which he complied. "What if I told you I have a Jedi weapon and I welded the door shut?" Aska whispered into Deskar's ear but the man merely pulled back and shot her a look of disbelief.
"I'd call you a liar. And a fool if you really thought I'd believe you," Deskar laughed. Grabbing the bottle of Aska's favorite liquor from behind him, he proceeded to place three shot glasses on the bar and filled each. Aska watched in delight and as he pushed the shot towards her, she wrapped her hand around it and proceeded to be patient.
"Yea, you're right. I'll fool you one day," The response was hard for Aska to say with a straight face. She had had the lightsaber for weeks now, and utilized it on more than a couple situations at this point, but anyone who had seen the weapon typically was someone who had gone on in to the galaxy. Deskar and Quinri she felt she could trust but she knew the fact that she held such a rare artifact needed to be kept quiet. Still, the statement alone would likely keep the Besalisk from asking more questions on the subject.
"So after everything with Klied, you only ended up stirring up more trouble for yourself, is it? Typical," Deskar chuckled deeply, his heavy chin wobbling with each syllable. Straightening up and looking to the kitchens, the bartender bellowed back. "Quinri! That's enough for tonight! Get out here!"
"But I'm almost done washing th-" Quinri called from the back but was quickly interrupted.
"Listen to the man and get out here!" Aska laughed and raised the shot glass to the woman as she pushed the swinging doors to the kitchen open. Quniri rolled her eyes as she removed her apron and tossed it on the back of the chair beside Aska before taking a seat and pulling a shot towards herself.
"Here's to Aska's last night on Nar Shaddaa," Deskar cheered as he lifted his glass up and pouring it's contents back. As he did this, both of the woman at the bar gave him a quizzical look before Quinri snapped her head over to Aska.
"Wait; You're leaving?" Aska shook her head to the question.
"I have no idea what he's talking about. I'm not going anywhere," After her reply, Aska followed Deskar's example and took the shot which prompted Quinri to do the same.
"Kid, Boola is a well known hit woman for The Y'toob Outlaws. The gang itself is pretty small time but Boola has made a definite name for herself the last couple years," Deskar lectured as he poured himself a pint. "Terrik was one thing. The kid spent every credit he made on partying. To play dejarik, you need to think several moves ahead. Terrik could barely handle putting one foot in front of another. Boola isn't like that," Deskar's voice was calm and collected as he spoke.
"So you're saying Aska needs to get off world before this Boola catches up to her?" Quinri asked. Aska simply huffed and proceeded to pluck a cigarra from her jacket before sliding the pack across the bar to Deskar. Quickly, Quinri snatched the pack from Deskar's grasp and pulled one for herself first.
"Boola can try. She's the last person I'm going to be concerned with," Aska stated proudly but Deskar merely chuckled. Aska watched as one of his lower right hands moved under the bar to the position that she knew he kept his blaster.
"Tell her yourself," The Besalisk stated with a nod towards the door. Spinning in their seats, both women looked to the entrance and watched as the Rodian woman walked in the door. Oddly enough to Aska, Boola was alone.
"So this is where you like to kick up your feet?" the Rodian surveyed the bar as she slowly advanced. Pulling her pistol and aiming down the sights at the woman, Aska stood from her stool and reached back to push Quinri in behind her.
"Seem's I've made myself a fan,"
