The Jedi Gardens(closed)

Colm walked along the jedi gardens. After returning from the far reaches of the galaxy he stopped at Ossus. He might finally be knighted soon. It was awkward being a padawan with no master. His master, Foran, had just kind of faded out. No longer with a master he wandered around the grounds with his lightsaber clipped securely to his belt.

Sitting down on a curved rock he looked out across a small pond. Small plants grew in the water and native birds searched for fish in the shallow water. He saw many jedi that he knew well pass by, but he gave them no greeting."What will you do with yourself Colm?"

Corina walked through the gardens of the Jedi, her poise that of a dancer. She saw a young man tossing rocks into one of the ponds. He looked confused and like he needed help. She walked over to him, perching gracefully on a rock near to his.

"You okay, kido?" she said, sounding friendly.

"Oh, Hey Corina,"He looked back at her. Colm had known her for some time but rarely got to see his friend. "Hey hows knighthood? You beat me to it."He turned on the rock and stood facing her. He was taller than her by a few inches but now she had become a knight and he was still a padawan. "So you get a padawan soon don't you?" He smiled at his own comment and the thought of her first padawan. It would likely be, amusing to say the least.

"You need to learn to respect those above you in the hierachy, Colm," she smirked sarcastically, "And I've already begun training my first padawan thank you. What's your problems then?"

"I don't have a master...ironic, so close to knighthood and 'Poof,"He put his hands together then wile saying 'poof' brought them apart."Master Foran just disappeared, I might have been nighted around the same time...of course then we wouldn't be having this,"He faded out looking for the right word for their meeting here. "-reunion."

"You know you love it that way," she smirked and giggled, "so no luck finding a master? I might be able to give a friend a hand."

He kept smiling and tried to keep a strait face but the corners of his mouth still curved slightly ,"How would you 'give me a hand?' Master Corina."He said the title mockingly, he wasn't used to the title and it was amusing.

She stayed smiling, but her eyes were cold. He had annoyed her now, and it was not wise to annoy one more powerful in the Force. She subtly moved her hand and sent Colm flying, head first into the pond. When he stood up, sputtering she replied, "I was offering to be your master. And why did you dive into the pond?" The sarcastic smile played across her lips once more.

He lifted his head and dropped it back intot he pond. "Thanks Corina, I do need a bath, but the baths are not in the garden." He sat up in the water and standing walked out of the water. His back was covered in mud which he used the force to lift off and place back in the pond. His hair that ahd been strait that morning was now beginning to curl, he hated when his hair curled. "I know you were offering to be my master, I just wanted you to say it outright." The water had been cold and now he stood rigid as the water dried on his back.

"If you want me to finish training you, meet me in the training halls tomorrow morning. And you do need a bath," she said. As she walked off she waved her hand again, pushing him back into the pond. She giggled, she loved winding him up, but he would never admit it got to him, he would just take the michael back.

((You can skip straight to tomorrow morning...))

Colm laughed again and just layed there in the water until she left. Getting out again he rushe off to ready himself for the next day.

((the next day))

Colm walked into the training halls, it was before dawn and usually not considered morning yet. "Corina?" He asked into the darkness. He was dressed for the occasion in traditional jedi robes with his lightsaber at his waist. His hair was strait again. "I hope we wont spend the day flinging me into the various ponds scattered around the temple...or any ponds at all," he joked hoping she would laugh. Starting off the day on a posotive note would be good.

She did not like being disturbed whilst asleep. It was not even light yet and here was a very eager Colm, waking her up. Throw him into ponds? Oh if he thinks that's all I can do he has another thing coming. She got up from bed and dressed in her usual t-shirt, tunic, skirt, shorts and sandals, clipping her belt around her waist and leaving.

"You're here very early," she said," I said morning, not the middle of the night! Now, tell me what you already know of the Force."

"Sorry, I didn't think you'd be here. You were here early as well Master. I know the obvious really, I think you were there for the force push and pull incident... Foran taught me the dominating mind techniques, and much in telekinesis. I know a little but I'm nothing special in shielding but I can make a shield." He really thought he was quite proficient in the force, he just wasn't good enough in it. He could mold the physical aspects of the force well but anything intricate or advanced was fairly well unknown. "I think I'm just rough edged in my knowledge of the force.

For starters, then, she would go through some basic Force sight techniques, to allow him to truly become aware, "Sit," she said, and she sat with him, "Close your eyes and visualise the temple around you. Use the Force to help you look, and tell me what you see."

Colm sat cross-legged and closed his eyes. He'd been in many training rooms and they all tended to be similar in design. A few pillars holding the ceiling and stone floor. The stone floor ended after about fifty meters and became grass that lead to water after another twenty-five meters? He pushed out with the force and tried to feel around him, unfortunately it wasn't working very well.

Everything felt very skewed and stretched. "There is a pillar to my left and one a little farther away to my right." He said this almost questioning but he knew they were pillars. He was proud of his style and wondered why he hadn't thought to use this on his own. The idea of using the force to see is a wonderful idea. The jedi that invented this must have been a geneous...or at least been practical.

He continued to feel around witht he force. There wasn't much he could make out but pillars. "Mostly pillars and some..other...things I cannot really make out." He opened his eyes and looked for whatever it was he couldn't make out.

(((yay metric system!)))

((You don;t understand the metric system, do you?))

He was stuck in the room, she needed to get him to branch out. "Feel more than just the room. Close your eyes and lose yourself in the Force. Feel me, in the room, listen to my heartbeat, then feel all the others in the temple. It is bursting with life, use the Force to see it."

((they don't teach it very well no))

He thought about how it is easy to sense when there is another jedi. It isn't hard to tell but when in meditation he often 'felt' the area around him but never thought about how the force could help him see like that. He already sat in meditation and let the force flow freely through him. He checked its flow and felt out with the force. Corina was standing near to him but not next to him. He could sense her entire body...he felt the jedi walking around outside the room. The temple was bursting with life, the force flowed freely here. In this place he could see all sides of any thing. It was a strange sensation, like having many eyes looking at everything at once. It was a little overwhelming and he opened his eyes and raised his hand to his head.

"That gives me a headache. That is amazing though, how did you learn that?" He put emphasis on the 'you' hoping to not get a history of the skill.

His cockiness again. She gave him a look that said grow up. Then again, maybe he was being sincere, she humoured him, "I learnt it by medidtating and reaching out. I felt the Force and just let it carry me. The easier you can let go of yourself in the Force, the easier it is to use it. Stand up," she commanded, "and tell me what you know of lightsaber combat."

((I'll change it if its not a viable style in thsi timeline))

"Form four; Ataru. Master Foran taught me it. I can't fight very long with it because its not designed to do so. It taxes the bedy of energy but its hard to defend against."

He stood slowly and reached for his lightsaber, touching it he felt the hilt and patted it.

"I swing too wide though, it's a really bad flaw. I'm not half bad at the basics of other styles. No one has taught me past the basics of any other style. What style do you utilize Corina? I seem to have forgotten."

"I will judge the flaws of your form," she replied, "I use Ataru as well. Because my physical strength is not my greatest attribute, I can use my speed to fight. And if you're running out of energy quickly that is a danger in combat, especially if you were fighting somebody using Soresu," she paused, "before we begin I will teach you a technique to use the Force to sustain you. When you need extra energy, open yourself up to the Force and let it flow through you, rejuvenating you."

She then stopped and very subtly reached into his mind and performed a mind trick using a stunning power, to make him sleepy. She then spoke, "this is a very high room and has many ledges up to the top. It is ideal to practice combat or use as an obstacle course. I want you to chase me around the room. If you get tired, use the Force for energy."

She leapt up to the first ledge and began running. She would not let him catch up, and as he was already sleepy thanks to her intervenal, he would have to use the Force for energy. She would stop after he had used this for a while, though.
