Watching him blush and stammer like a youngling, the Jedi Master couldn't help but chuckle a little. Maikee shifted again, and she adjusted as well, shifting so his head wouldn't slip off her shoulder. Still, at the comment of Felix and Drastus being awesome, her smile gentled, warmed. She was proud of all of them. They had their flaws... but she was here now.

They could work through those together.

Still, at his touch to her shoulder, she looked up into his earnest face, and smiled back warmly. Golden eyes glinted, and she gave a nod, her throat closing with the threat of tears. Out of anyone, he treated her with less formality, and in so many ways, it was such a relief. She had never wanted the role of Master; she was far happier as a Knight. But he was also like a big brother, yet still her student. It was a balance of opposites they both danced rather well together.

"I know you will, Arctus," she answered, flashing a rare, full smile. A flicker of the Old Master flaring to life before it would fade again.

Thankfully, he changed the topic, and she relaxed further, glancing at Yvain and Alex going toe-to-toe. It promised to be an interesting little battle. She smirked cheekily.
"Oh yes. Every year, something happens. Founding Day is..." she paused. How to explain it? To an outsider, it must have seemed strange.

"It's the start of the New Order. A celebration for the next generation of Jedi, the first hosted by those that were discovered by Grand Master Rey Skywalker, to commemorate and celebrate our Order. Mostly it's an excuse to allow everyone to let loose and come together." She glanced over to where she could see Drastus in profile...

Was he flirting?

A mischievous thought sparked to mind, and it wouldn't take long to implement. Gathering the Force into her hand, she looked for a vulnerable spot, a moment.

When he held out the flask, she struck. A cold breeze wafted against the nape of his neck, akin to an ice cube, before dissipating, and she glanced away innocently, patting Maikee's back.

Who said Masters couldn't have their own fun?

Sevrin made a joke. Alex nearly passed out right then. Vahn must have managed to relax the stoic Jedi Knight. How? She would likely never know. “Who are you and what have you done with Sevrin Valtiere.” She asked with mock seriousness. Her eyes narrowing in feigned suspicion. Alex’s head quickly whipped around as Vahn brought around more of his teas. She quickly raised a hand. “Oh no no…no more of your super weird teas.” Vahn had an eclectic collection of herbal drinks, all of which tasked horrible to the Morellian Master. Of course, that was when all hell broke loose.

She found herself staring at Yvain clinking a pair of tongs in her face. What had she gotten herself into? Well, the Order need to let off a little steam and she would happily oblige. There was more to being a Jedi Master than simply espousing deep wisdom. Sometimes, you need to have a little fun and show the others they could do the same. Her eyes grew dark and stormy. Wind picking up around them. Alex’s hands moved above her head, one crack of thunder followed by lightning. Very dramatic Alex.

“Challenged accepted Jedi Yvain…but be careful what you wish for.” She cracked an impossible large smile. “Bring me tongs and a grill.” She was ready to kick his little green ass.

For someone to hold on to his word with complete faith almost made Arctus tear up with the happiness he hadn't felt for a long time. When was the last time someone told him those words? Back when he was sixteen, when he was comforting Mum after another heated argument with Dad? When he was ten, promising his younger brothers that he would always protect them? Or when he was thirty, when he swore to his savior that he won't ever turn back to his spice addiction again?

He dismissed the question, taking in the full smile Indy gave him. In a way he felt like an accomplished older brother, swearing to keep his word no matter the consequence. The former smuggler turned Jedi Padawan never imagined that he would freely offer the courtesy reserved only for his younger brothers to another person, and yet here he was.

Even the poisoned voices hiding in the farthest reaches of his mind had nothing to say against that. Out of every Jedi, every holder of the Light of the Force around him, they abhorred Indy the most. Arctus knew the reason too well. If it wasn't for the Pantoran woman, he'd be too far gone under the Dark Side's influence.

"Good to hear that," he replied with a chuckle. "I'm honestly looking forward to whatever madness these lot have in store for the next Founding Day."

Ah, so this celebration was old, huh? But the explanation shed light to the significance of the celebration. From what Arctus had learned, the old Jedi Orders faced purges that nearly brought about the Jedi's extinction. Master Rey Skywalker's New Order was so different from the Old, and if it weren't for the changes she made when it came to teaching those who wished to be taught regardless of their age then Arctus supposed that he wouldn't be here. He knew should be learning these bits of history from his space monk Dad, but the former smuggler never met anyone who resembled his appearance nor someone who might recognize him. Well, his mother (and those neighboring gossiping old women) did say that his father was a wandering Jedi, so that figured. Maybe the old timer rarely ever set foot on the Temple, or that he kicked the bucket already. The latter thought sent a pang of pain in Arctus's heart, but he set the feeling aside.

If his biological father was dead, then there's nothing he could do about that.

"That's an awesome excuse, though," he mused. "Gives newbies such as myself a chance to mingle and make friends." At the mention of friends, Maikee seemed to decide that nap time was over and stirred awake, confusion briefly flashing on his face as he looked between Indy and Arctus. The former smuggler took notice and shot the youngling a smile. "I'm happy to inform you, Master, that I've made a lot of friends already. Only, they're young enough to call me..." he hesitated, but ultimately decided to push through with an embarrassed grin "...dad. Or uncle. I don't even know what these ankle biters saw in me. What is it, Maikee? Please tell this old man!"

The youngling smiled, rubbing sleep off his eyes. "He's awful at playing hide and seek, Master Sati. 'S why everyone loves playing with big brother Arctus."

Ooh, kriff. Ooh, blessed Maker. Ooh, this cheeky, adorable, pint-sized bugger! He always got teary-eyed when kids call him that! Being called big brother or being seen as such was, like, his kriffing weakness or something!

He just got told that he sucked playing a game, sure, but still...!

Before Arctus could process mentally sobbing over Maikee's response (The kids... love me? Thank the Maker for that!) the youngling politely asked to be set down, thanking the Pantoran Jedi Master for holding him while he slept. Once he was on his feet, little Maikee would run off to where the other younglings were, joining in on the game the others were playing.

Overwhelmed by positive emotions, Arctus felt a little too late the subtle shift in the Force with Indy at its center. Hazel grey eyes shifted from the Jedi Master to their immediate surroundings, checking to see the result of whatever... mischief...? the Pantoran woman had in store. A crack of thunder briefly distracted him, and Arctus blinked at the events unfolding by the grill.

"I know it's not the Jedi way, but I feel like murder is in the air by the grill yonder," he told Indy, a grin lighting up his features. Feeling more and more like his old self minus the awful parts, Arctus waved a hand at the group of Jedi and their culinary duel. "Oi! Masters and Knights and everything in between! Tone down the violence, there are kids watching!"

This was the first time Arctus willingly called attention to himself, but he was far too relaxed and at ease in the presence of the woman he called both Master and friend. And, well, little sister, secretly. If the culinary duelists and their audience decided to gang up on him for his impudence... well...

Arctus could run really, really fast despite his size and build. Life as a smuggler really did teach him a lot of valuable things when it came to escaping from the messes one made.

The smile on Yvain's face slowly widened into a sickening grin fit for any Sith Lord as Alexandria accepted his challenge, the innocent girl she did not know what she had gotten herself into. As the wind picked up around his foe, the sky darkened for a moment a crack of lightning sending light skipping across his face. The little Jedi began to laugh, at first it was quiet only the sight of his body moving gave it away.

As The Force corralled around the Jedi Master too did it corral around the Ancient Jedi Knight, where the wind and lightning were Voran's allies, the earth itself was Yvain's the Jedi naturally attune to the planet around him was given its backing. Nearby shoots began to grow, the tall grass began to wave side to side as the Jedi's light laughter grew louder and louder, slowly turning into the crazed cackle fit for any B-tier Holofilm.

As the Jedi reached the pitch of his evil persona, his laugh echoing through the area enhanced by The Force, trees and plants moving back and forth. He heard the Padawan call from the side, the darkness quickly disappeared, the plants shrunk away and the manic laughter ended. "Sorry Younglings." He shouted across to the small gathering group.

Turning back to the Jedi Master he gave her the evil eye before continuing. "What shall it be, best burger, best main course, maybe three? Pick your defeat Alexandria!" He finished it with a slightly toned down cackle.

Bri chuckled at the thought of outside perceptions. Monks and burgers. It main for an interesting dynamic. "Maybe we've stumbled on our own new sect of the Jedi. Masters of the grilled arts," she mused aloud. From the majority of her experiences, the chefs and cooks at the temple mainly tended to be droids. Which was perfectly fine with Bri. Her cooking skills were so subpar, that it did not take much to impress her, food-wise.

The Knight stared at the flask with a slight grimace on her face, but also a wry smile. Once more she cursed her own competitiveness and curiosity. "Alright fine, fine. I'll do it," she reached her hand out for the flask.

"I'm only down because I got someone else hurt. I mean, I didn't do the exploding, but I was the one driving. Guess I had my speeder mishap, eh?"

"I can understand the feeling," Bri nodded. It was a challenge. The Jedi had a multitude of purposes in the Galaxy. One of which was helping to protect those who couldn't protect themselves. However, there were some situations where everyone choices had to be made. Incredibly hard choices, sometimes with dire consequences. From her experiences, Drast always seemed quite upbeat, but Bri could tell that the experience still weighed upon him. She wanted to try and cheer him up, but just about as expected, he was able to make his own humor.

"Sounds interesting" she nodded with an impressed smile. "When do you leave?" Master Thrall was unknown to her, but some sort of vague mission to the Core was intriguing. Bri tended to look a missions as more of a duty, but it was a positive reflection on Drasts' personality that he described it as 'fun.' The blonde woman stared out into the jungle and the other Jedi revelers. "Not sure yet," she judged with a slight sigh. Bri enjoyed staying busy jetting across the galaxy, but meditating, concentrating and refocusing her mind surrounded by the Force on Yavin was something she felt drawn to. "I appreciate the offer," she replied with a grin, but wasn't ready to make a decision in the moment. "If I move in, does that mean the party responsibility falls to me?" she asked with a laugh, recalling their earlier conversation.

"That just sounds like a bad cooking show." Drast said with a laugh. "Master Yvain outcooking robots. 'Cooking with the Code', some kind of corny food inspired version of the Jedi Code."

When she accepted the flask, Drast would flinch, thankfully nothing too severe as he felt an... ice cube? Yeah, an ice cube slide along his neck. It was really weird. He would play it off as if the alcohol just had a strong after kick before handing it off to Bri. Once the flask was in her hands, he'd take a look around. Was it a prank? Was he going crazy? It was way too hard to tell. All he knew was Yvain and Voran were about to wipe the temple off the map with the elements. It was fine, everything was fine.

He seemed to sense her effort and cheering him up so, he just offered one of his charming smiles in thanks. "Or.. I am going to get handed over to the Sector Rangers." he said with a laugh. "Tomorrow, I think. I am wanted there with another Padawan, Lani. Gonna meet with Master Thral, Lt. Velt, and maybe someone else. If you're in the Core, come through." he said with a smirk.

When she cracked her joke about party responsibilites, Drast thought he was going to bust a gut. She had a sharp mind and even sharper wit and that was worthy of praise. "I mean, I still got the party room, so if you want to throw a party go ahead. I just live out here in the forest now. Needed something calming after Denon." he confessed. "I couldn't help anyone, nobody could help me, so I needed to first help myself. Think I'm ready for it. Things finally... start to feel normal. Though.. I gotta ask, if you threw a party, what theme would it be?"

Aside from the Old Man now yelling about them kids and whatnot, Drast would have to find the Ice Cube bandit, his hand absently feeling his own neck. Strange.. wasn't wet.. so either the heat dried the ice residue, or there was something else going on.

Alex cracked her knuckles. She was painfully self-aware. She knew the spectacle they made. It was absolutely necessary. Her eyes shot around the gathering. They were all so young. Each Jedi would be forced to war sooner rather than later. They never had the chance to be children. That was why she cranked the absurdity to eleven. That was why she stared down Yvain. They needed this. The Force continued to swirl around Alex as the girl lifted to rest before her. Suddenly, the various cooking instruments circled her head. She was ready.

“Best burger little man.” Her palms were face up, hands out on either side. The Force gently guiding each of her actions. Alex never played to lose…even now. She smiled widely. “Bring on the meat.” She waited for the selection what meat they would be grilling. The Force was her constant ally. She could not possibly lose.

'Cooking with the Code'

The thought of the humorous Jedi cooking show elicited another bright laugh from Bri. "Who knows, could be something worth watching?" The joke from the Jedi was semi-serious. Again reiterating her complete lack of cooking skills, Bri wondered if there were dishes that Jedi specialized in? Was there a history of Jedi cooking just like other components of Jedi culture? Considering the millennia of histories, it probably wouldn't be a surprise.

Bri gingerly took the flask and made skeptical looking face at the liquid inside. She raised it to her lips and took a small sip, immediately scrunching her face at the rather unpleasant tasting liquid. The Jedi tried to think of a comparison to something in her mind, but was unable to. It was fragrant, yet strong. Almost sweet, but bitter. "Yeah, not a fan of that," Bri commented, regaining her composure, and handing the flask back.

"Or.. I am going to get handed over to the Sector Rangers."

Though it was a joke, Bri could imagine someone of Drast's demeanor ending up in a few sketchy circumstances with the Sector Rangers. "Interesting." the Jedi noted, nodding in understanding. She had actually worked with both Master Thral and Lt. Velt previously. "Sure, if I'm around I'll give you a call. What are they having you doing?"

"Though.. I gotta ask, if you threw a party, what theme would it be?"

Bri raised her head back in confused thought. She honestly had no idea. "What would even be an appropriate theme for a Jedi party? Fun? Meditation?" The Jedi's questions might have sounded amusing, but there were posed out of sheer confusion. "Any recommendations?"

Drast would laugh. "I mean it could be? Might be like a series of salads or some of the satalite temples have breweries." he'd shrug. "You have no idea how bound to the Force a hop is." It slowly, very slowly started to dawn on him that she was semi-serious. "Well, tell ya what. When I get back I will show ya how to cook some meals. I don't know how to do much, but I did watch my parents cook growing up, for a bit at least."

"Yeah, not a fan of that."

Her own reaction from the drink made him laugh again. "Yeah, it's an acquired taste. The more you drink it, the better it gets. It's probably just the tastebuds dying." He would take a long pull from the flask as she spoke again. Thankfully, she thought he was joking. But that was the point, joke about it, and people don't know what's real and what isn't. "Honestly? Just to talk to Velt. We had a talk with him on Coruscant when the riots starting breaking out and we kinda disappeared. I plan to ask him about a Force User I wanted him to track down. But, if there's anything else, they haven't told me."

"What would even be an appropriate theme for a Jedi party? Fun? Meditation? Any recommendations?"

Drast would give that just a little thought. "Well, if we're trying to move past the obvious dredge of this place, always go fun. You can take some of those empty aggro bins they haven't used for the gardening yet and fill em up with water for a pool party, you could do another barbecue. You could even just do a dance party. The equation is simple: Laughs, music, food, and friendship. Put all those together, it's going to be a hit. I normally shoot for dancing, because it releases endorphins, makes people happy." His gaze would shift back to her. "Why? Would you prefer a meditation party? Everyone circled around going 'huuummm'" he would imitate it with a laugh, even briefly balancing to cross his legs. "Bear in mind, your answer may be followed up with the most minor, yet respectful, judgement." he teased.

Any offer of assistance for Bri's remedial cooking skills were welcomed. She nodded with a grin, accepting Drast's offer. "I think you're going to need all the patience you can muster,"

"Yeah, it's an acquired taste. The more you drink it, the better it gets. It's probably just the tastebuds dying."

It didn't sound scientific, but Bri could see what Drast meant. The more you drank of the foul tasting liquid, the less you could actually taste or feel in your mouth. It was not exactly an experience that she wanted to repeat.

"Honestly? Just to talk to Velt. We had a talk with him on Coruscant when the riots starting breaking out and we kinda disappeared. I plan to ask him about a Force User I wanted him to track down. But, if there's anything else, they haven't told me."

Bri didn't want to pry, but her general curiosity and nosiness propelled her further. "Who's your missing Force user?"

Would you prefer a meditation party? Everyone circled around going 'huuummm. Bear in mind, your answer may be followed up with the most minor, yet respectful, judgement."

The Jedi politely laughed at Drast's obvious joke, but she was actually being entirely serious about a meditation party. Often times meditation was a solely individual activity, but it could be another productive experience being with others. Feeling the energy of others. She replied with her own sarcastic comment. "Yeah... I mean a meditation party.....boy that would be a bore." Otherwise, Drast's comments were spot on. Laughing, with music and food were probably the best components to put a party together. "Might be better to just go down to the river or one of the lakes instead of using the aggro bins," Bri laughed, imagining the scene in her mind.
