I am not being snarky, I'm operating in a setting where physics and human limitations apply. The human body cannot process an action, start, and complete it within a quarter of a second. Especially a complex task, processing your character's final shot, reacting to that information, and completing it within that time frame is actually impossible given the time she had to accomplish it. I'm not being snarky, I'm being realistic.

I did the math the before my edits and came to a singular conclusion, Ruin couldn't react to both of you realistically, this is the same situation.

I would be curious to see your work on the math. However, we don't know how fast the net is traveling. We also have to take into consideration the net needs time to expand. I'm not sure it's fully expended in that short of time, in that short of distance.

Regardless, EHSH is not so much jumping out the window, as she is just falling forward as the net hits here.

I'm operating in a setting where physics and human limitations apply.

Except we are not, this is star wars, IRL physics don't really apply. Also the Force, human limitations do not apply.

I will be making my edits tonight as outlined above. If you or your partner disagree with them, a report may be necessary.

Okay so my math! Since we don't have to account for angles of fire we can make things a little more simple here! What we have is 1.829 meters or 6 feet between Liat and your character and since this tool won't fire nearly as fast as a blaster but still has to be effective we will use 15 meters per second as a standard for the net's speed and assume it expands at a relative speed.

So what I've done is take 1.829 meters and divided it by 15 which takes us to 0.12193333 so I'm rounding up to 0.122 which is about a twelfth of a second. Now the average Olympian reaction speed to an auditory cue is about 0.22 seconds.

I use Olympians as my standard in pvp without the force applied. Since your character is unaffected by the force (reaction speed wise) when the net is fired it is physically impossible for her brain to even compute what she heard before the net hits her. In essence, that net is hitting almost instantly and that is using its slowest calculation.

Edit: When the force is applied I agree that human limitations are out the window but when it isn't applied, they still apply. Our characters are still people, not super humans, they still have to obey the laws of physics when unaffected by the force.

Let's see what @Ecclessey says. As this is concerning his net, I'd like his take on it tbh.

ffs guys...

I just saw the bullet points for @Valen Pelora's edit and I'm good with that.

Next time I'd rather not come back to two pages of OOC bickering when it's merely a small dispute among friends.

I have no friends. I hate everyone.

If you're in the projected path, you're not going to be posting anytime soon, which is more than understandable. As nothing significant has happened in this PVP, @Valen Pelora and I would prefer we void this thread vs. dealing with unexpected delays that are sure to come from the hurricane. @Ecclessey thoughts?

I am completely cool with that, if all parties want to do this later then I'm down. Unforeseen circumstances are literally and metaphorically destructive right now

I mean.. I'm not in the d-d-danger zone so...

ohh well, guess that if you live on the US east coast Irma is scary as hell. I suppose I'll agree with voiding the thread.
