The Council of the damned (Drun, Lavi, Em and Ols)

[Will]

The mighty corvette translated in 'system', the large asteroid cloud housing the Haven, Ivan's home and base, away from the prying eyes of the republic. The large ship docked with the crashed frigate creating the structure, providing the base for the buildings clustered around it, like tiny limpets on a hige metal rock. Gun turrets swivelled away from the ship, knowing it was the flagship of the fleet.

Ivan strode through the corridoors, sitting down at the meeting table, comprised of deck plating from each ship he had taken. He planned for it to grow. He waited for the others to come, his seconds, the best in the pirating underworld. He drank from his goblet, now no need for the hipflask, and illuminated the room with the fake candles hanging from the chandilier.

 

[Lavi]

Among the first to arrive was the ship called the Virgin's Cross. A light freighter, it belongs to the pirate known to the galaxy as Marian Ogaki. The ship jumped out of hyperspace and cleanly docked onto the said asteroid, clearance already provided.

The urbanely dressed pirate made his way to the meeting room, puffing on his cig.

"Ivan," Marian greets as he takes a seat at the table.

 

[Will]

Ivan nodded to the first to arrive. The fact he had navigated the ever changing asteroid field was a good sign. ''Marian, welcome. Something to drink?'' He asked, ever the host.

 

[Lavi]

"Nothing at the moment," replied Marian, leaning on the table. The poetic pirate waits as others arrive, to judge their appearances.

 

[Ols]

The freighter burst out of hyperspace not too far from the asteroid field. In the cockpit stood the menacing figure of Kyle Prowe. In front of him his pilot and navigator, having the coordinates from his datapad in the computer they piloted . Usually Kyle would pilot himself, but he did not feel like it today. Delegation was the beauty of the chain o' command.

He saw the Haven, the structure of a capital ship lurching out of the side of a large asteroid. The freighter approached the docking bay and slowed to a halt. Kyle exited the ship and made his way to the council room. The flickering candles made his earring shine, and his curved lightsaber hilt gleam. He nodded to Ivan and extended his hand to the other man, saying, "Kyle Prowe, privateer."

 

[Lavi]

"Marian Ogaki, pirate," Marian replied, squeezing the offered hand with his left. Now there was one member left before the meeting began...

 

[Emma Lou]

Kamryn was the last to join the pirating band of no good scoundrels. Before arriving she had changed into a simple, yet flowing, dress of dark blues with a corset-like top. She might as well look good since it was not shameful that she be a women. She had also left her cloak in The Exiled and let her golden curls fall down her back. A pirate and smuggler? Surely not, because she was far to beautiful.

She smiled to herself as she walked toward the meeting room. She might look presentable and proper, but her vibro-daggers were strapped to her calf and thigh and her sword hung from her waist.

She could see that she was the last to arrive when she walked into the room and counted the men. More like boys, she thought. She smiled at Ivan.

"Kamryn Gemila, pirate extraordinaire, at your service"

 

[Ols]

Courteously, Kyle stood and nodded to her, "Kyle Prowe, privateer," he repeated, introducing himself to the newcomer. He then lit a cigarette, taking in a long draw, as though it were some relief. He offered his silver cigarette case to the others.

 

[Will]

''Excellent. We are all here. Please, sit.'' Ivan motioned to ths fine chairs made from the captain's chairs of taken ships. Waste not want not was one of Ivan's little sayings. ''Now, i recruited you all individually, and i have brought you here to see how you work together. I propose a raid upon a republic transport vessel, guarded by this Frigate. If this goes well, the frigate will become the Aegis II, i am hoping.'' The glint was back in his eye as he showed holo-schematic. ''Thoughts?'' He simply asked the three.

 

[Lavi]

Marian tipped his hat to the smuggler. "Marian Ogaki, pirate."

'An interesting gathering, we are...' Marian thought to himself.

 

[Ols]

When no one took one, Kyle pocketed the cigarette case and thoughtfully spoke, "It's do-able, certainly. But have we the man power?"

 

[Will]

''More than enough. We have thirty starfighters, and fifty men for boarding actions, including the modest firepower of my own ship.'' Ivan responded, glad of the initiative to be gaining information so quickly.

 

[Lavi]

The poetic pirate scrutinized the schematics. "How much damage are you willing for it to sustain?"

 

[Ols]

"When you say fifty men, would all of those be under my direction in the boarding parties? Or are some of them needed to man our own ships?" he wanted to commit such acts, but he was skeptical at the moment. Yes, he could take a ship with ten good men, but he wanted assurances.

 

[Emma Lou]

Ivan answered Marian first. ''Mainly just enough to take it out of action, so engine and weponary damage. They can be fixed easily with the prospective loot we will gain from the transport, after the organisation cuts, of course.'' He turned to Kyle. ''Fifty to board and take. You will lead them all, through the Bosuns, in charge of the individual crewmen parties.'' He returned to the schematic, calculating total fire needed to stop it, but not kill it.

 

[Lavi]
