Power stations on Core worlds tended to be one of two types - either they were well maintained hives of organization or they were ancient, held together by tech so old that no one even understood it anymore, and surrounded by slum housing.
The second type of power station was common on planets like Corellia and Coruscant but the first type of power station was common on planets that, for lack of a better term, had their act together. Planets like Chandrila had power plants that were far removed from the major cities and regulated to the nth degree to make sure they were about as well maintained as could reasonably be expected. Good shift patterns for workers, especially the safety officials and the like, meant that even the staff should have been reasonably content.
So finding out that one of the main Chandrilan power plants was going to explode was news of the kind that woke Max up better than a strong cup of coffee. The newscaster had further elaborated to explain that a rather radical group promoting the separation of Chandrila from the New Republic had seized control of the power plant in the early hours of the morning.
They had hostages and the local defense forces were not confident in their ability to get them out safely without the threat of the bombs being realized and half the planet going dark for months.
Arriving at the edge of the cordon that had been set up by the local authorities, Max waved one of the soldiers over and spoke to him for a moment. He didn't have a badge to flash like a Ranger would have but not many types of people wandered around planets in armoured robes with lightsabers on hand so he was believed to be a Jedi and allowed to make his way to the command tent.
Time to see if he was going to be able to keep the weather as "cloudy with no chance of explosions".
