My personal computer is having some issues so it can't start. My availability will drop because of this and some days I won't even be available at all because I have to post from work. I'll try to stay active, though, but no guarantee.
Yeah, it POSTs, loads the Windows stuff, then goes to the actual screen with that dumb scrolling green bar. It makes 1.25 trips then switches to start-up repair and it's been going since midnight Central last night. Not sure how long it'll take but I might be able to fix it. Otherwise I knew it was time to get a new computer anyway. I find that easier than just getting a new OS plus it allows me to scrap it for spare parts and I can still access the HDD as a removable drive thanks to a 'coversion kit' (as the makers called it) that I got a few years ago. Darn Toshiba netbooks are kind of sucky by current standards. Especially one with Windows 7 Starter.
dude i feel your pain i had a toshiba netbook with 7 starter as well -.- god that thing pissed me off.... anywho it's well worth it to get a new computer if you can :3
I'm going to buy a new computer probably tomorrow or the day after. The HDD on my current is pretty much a paper weight. Turns out it's a hardware issue, which is rare, but it was time for a new one anyway. Nothing with Windows 8 on it though...
I despise what Microsoft did to make Windows 8. It's Vista/7 with what is essentially an overlay that takes up a stupid amount of space. I'm not a fan of how Microsoft did that one. Plus, the only way I'd get Windows 8 is if I got a tablet kind of like the Eee tablets, but I want something that at least has a CD-drive plus has some more uses. I'll stick to my generic W7.
