Eriadu was a prime world for Sith expansion. That pretty much summed up Varek's day today. It had a history of support for Empires of old, it was filled with exploitation and greed, and the dark side already flooded the undercurrents of the planet. Beyond the packed cities was the natural world of predators. An untamed jungle that still very much reflected the predatory nature of the dark side itself. Yes, this world would do nicely.

Even corrupting it for Imperial control wasn't likely to be difficult. A bit of pressure here, a greased palm there, and a dead body elsewhere and the planet would gladly join the Empire. It was the kind of world that would prosper under the umbrella of the Empire.

Varek's mouth scrunched up under his helmet as he watched the sun begin to shrink behind the horizon. The breeze atop the factory roof was cool and relaxing, but he knew the temperature would drop to uncomfortable soon.

He'd heard rumor that he'd have a partner for this particular operation, but without the man's arrival yet, Varek was already planning how he might move forward on his own. Hope for the best, but plan for the worst. Anything less was a death sentence in the Sith. A glance down at his chrono said that the other man still wasn't likely to arrive for several minutes, so he waited. Silent and patient. Such was the way of the assassin.

What a marvelously rotten planet this was. An industrial world, a major point on trade routes, and the home of corporate power in the galactic sector. Rife with corruption and crime in equal measure, it was precisely the kind of place Wolfgang tended to frequent. It was was just so simple to get things done in a place like Eriadu. Which was, of course, why he was there today.

Dressed in his fine working attire, he'd taken to the rooftops and upper alleys of the planet and buried his presence in the Force. He didn't need to use his powers to climb and jump, instead relying on his natural gifts, quickly making his way through the urban jungle far from prying eyes. Eventually his boots landed softly atop the roof of a factory that had been designated as the meeting point for today's job, gloved hands double checking his equipment. Two vibroknives and a practical lightsaber on his belt and in an underarm mag holster beneath his coat respectively. A DG-34 Peacemaker sat in a holster on the right side with two spare reloads in an opposite pouch. Light armament, but generally speaking Sith were never really lightly armed.

Wolfgang stepped up toward the other man, revealing his presence in the Force as he alighted upon the rooftop, brushing some bit of debris off his shoulder with a gloved hand. Unlike some other Sith he'd seen, this one didn't seem to go for the extra-creepy mask, exaggerated armour aesthetics, or the ever present overengineered codpiece. Robes and a helmet. Classic. Wolfgang liked him already.

"Good evening," the man greeted the other Sith politely as he approached, bending his waist in a very slight bow. "I am called Wolfgang. How may I call you?"

Varek cast a glance over his shoulder as he heard the feet touchdown. Given the vague hole in the Force where there should have been a man, he assumed that was his partner.

Indeed, he thought as he saw the man. Helmeted, robed, and with a moderate armament, that was almost certainly his contact.

Wolfgang.

Varek, he said. Pleasure, he said. It was kind of a pleasantry. Or at least close to it. He didn't need to be rude even if he didn't trust his fellow Sith. Allies were still a valuable commodity, and he didn't fancy doing this by himself.

His hand brushed against the hilt of his saber at his belt, glancing over the edge for a moment at what awaited them. A crowd was gathered on strike at one of the factories. The leader of the strike, however, wasn't among the crowd. Finding and eliminating the troublemaker would be the first of their challenges of the night.

No trouble getting in? he asked. If they were compromised before this even got started then it was best to know. But he didn't sense anything of that sort.

Excellent, the man had basic manners. What a nice change of pace. Wolfgang nodded slightly in reply to Varek's returned greeting and brief introduction, moving up to the edge of the roof beside him to peer over the side. A collection of rabble by the look of things, whipped into a frenzy by someone or other no doubt. What sad, powerless little beings they were.

"None whatsoever," he answered simply. He'd been here before and knew how to avoid notice well enough. It was rarely him causing trouble after all

Wolfgang's eyes swept across the crowd below, the relative darkness doing little to hamper his vision. Not that he was looking for any one person in particular, just gauging the situation at hand, looking for leading figures of the mob. The impertinent masses always needed the more ambitious and charismatic among them to lead the charge, and even in mixed-species company that remained true.

"Do you have a plan?" he asked, turning his masked gaze back to Varek. There were several potential ways to find out who was behind the strike, but they varied rather a lot in method and levels of violence.

Varek thought about the best way for them to approach this. By far the most difficult part would be determining who their first target was. Once they knew that, the actual killing shouldn't be that difficult. These were factor workers not special operation soldiers.

He looked back down over the crowd, pondering for a moment their options. Throwing a bit of chaos into the crowd might force one of them to take the lead to calm the horde. But that was only assuming that their target was actually here in person. That was most likely, though, wasn't it?

We need to draw them out. Create chaos that requires them to rally, he said. His face twisted up a bit behind his mask.

We could isolate a worker, trick him into stirring up dissent, he said. They could track whoever came to deal with the disturbance and it was fair to assume they would be the leader. He glanced back to see what Wolfgang thought.

You stare up silently at the two, obviously plotting some mischief. You'd heard they were going to be here. That's about all you know. Show yourself? Nah; you'll help out if you need to. Stop worrying so much; let go of the need to control. What happens happens and that's all there is to it.

Your presence is masked, and you're slightly out of place in the middle of a factory crowd; not too hard to pick out, but who knew what they were planning on doing. Might not be the best place in the world to hang around. Your head hurts...how long has it been since you've been around this many people simultaneously?

There's only before, only after, no in between; you're changed. You can't go back, no matter how dizzy you get. Your vision is limited by the mask you rarely take off, but the lightsaber handle under your cloak feels reassuring…No. You can't use it so much like you did before. Where'd that get you? Two legs gone and now all you do is talk to yourself. Dammit. Time. Wait. Focus. Patience, yet passion...

Wolfgang tilted his head slightly as Varek spoke of something that certainly did resemble a plan. Or at least the framework of one. It would certainly depend on how organized this rabble of uppity peasant-folk actually was, but unless this was a particularly terrible example of a worker's strike they would likely have some people doing the general organizing and shouting and so on. They might know who was 'in charge', so to speak.

Dissent was certainly one way, but how much chaos could one little ant among many cause? The crowd wasn't a well tuned machine, it was a mob, an anthill. It needed to be poked a little harder than that. Or so Wolfgang believed.

"Perhaps we can escalate the situation? Present a threat to the herd that forces an organized response. It wouldn't be the first time a strike went poorly on Eriadu," he suggested, chuckling darkly. Doubtless the company was looking for any excuse to crack down on the dissenters who as of yet had not actually done anything illegal, per say. Now if Wolfgang could get his hands on a worker or two he could make them a little more straightforward about their grievances.

"I like your idea. Shall we see who can be found?"

Nothing was happening, and you're starting to get twitchy. Were they here to spectate? Do do nothing? Can't judge, that's more or less the same reason you're here. They'd just happened to have the same target. You suppose you might as well let them know you're there, just in case they might do something foolish.

With that, dark energy slowly leaks out from your body before shooting around the room in a cruel aura, eliciting a number of gasps and wide eyes. Just as quickly, it is gone, and you keep walking as if nothing had happened, trying to get away from the crowd and into a better position.

Whatever they chose to do now, you wouldn't hinder them; surely they had something better in mind that blend in in dark clothing and a creepy mask. You roll your eyes as you get away from the moving mass, waiting...
