Adumar was a strange place. While most worlds -and people for that matter- enjoyed the option of getting over their differences by regular adult discussion, or the recent galactic pastime war. Adumar, didn't do that. Nope, they wanted to beat the snot out of each other with swords to determine who was right. And fair play to them, they have been pretty stable.
Ash being a Makashi man himself, he always found a certain appeal to the concept of honor duels, not that he would ever feel the need to challenge someone to it. However, Adumar had a way of drawing him in, so worse comes to worse, he becomes a better user of his lightsaber and gets the tar beaten out of him a few times for it. Hell, he might even become a passable pilot if he sticks around long enough. The Adumari put an even greater emphasis on starfighter piloting than they do dueling, and that's saying something. The Force would see him through. Hopefully anyway.
Ash had scheduled a meeting with a sort of 'manager' to discuss entering the dueling circuit, hoping to rise of the ranks of fame and respect. Getting his name out there would be hard but it would give him an easier time of it if he ever wanted to do some operations or business ventures on the planet. Even more than that, while not exactly popular, the broadcasts of the duels were spread galaxy wide. He had already met the manager once before, and while a 'slightly' eccentric man, he was fun to be around and had a good heart. He was absolutely on board with the idea of having a Jedi join the circuit. There was one kink in the plan however, the current trend that had been going on for years on the planet, was the idea of team dueling. Well, not really a team, but two vs two.
So there he was, sitting comfortably on a bench waiting for his partner. He had reached out to several Jedi he knew and was pleasantly surprised any of them were interested at all in joining him here in what could be considered a vanity project. The spaceport was just a few blocks away from the office building where the manager worked, so it was convenient to wait here. He was skimming through some medical reports, confident that he really didn't have to look up to be recognized by his partner, as he quietly munched on an apple.
