And today I find out the newer and less bulky PS3 Slim is coming soon, which is half the price and has almost double the memory capacity my 80GB has.

Thanks for depriving me of 350 extra cash Sony!

Should've kept with the times, buddy boy.

That being said you could have bought a house with the amount you paid over in the states. :CHappy:

I can't justify buying a PS3 yet. Maybe when the slim comes out, but it'd only really be for Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts gaming.

I have an Xbox 360, but I got tired of sending it away to get fixed twice a year because of the damn red lights. I think the warranty has expired anyway.

God of War III and future, next gen Kingdom Hearts game.

Only reason I will need a PS3. Most likely for a used one since the price went down for those slimmers.

I find the PS3 makes a very fine doorstop.

I choose my PC. It beats all of your crappy Xboxes and Playstations.

Mine hasn't crashed yet... I don't play it very often. I think it's on a downhill spiral though, makes weird noises after I turn it off, and generally being funky. Does the hard drive get wiped or anything when you send it back?

With the newer generation of 360 consoles, the three red rings and other such problems associated with the 360 by whiny, bitchy PS3 fanboys have been negated. My Elite only went out after a year (out of warranty by two effing weeks) because the video card (made by ATI) gave out. I noticed that my 360 stayed on after I turned it off in order to recharge a controller battery, if you have a plug-and-charge kit, so that could explain that bit.

All existing PS3's now have a hundred dollars subtracted from the original price - which makes a used 80 gig PS3 cost as much as a Wii. That's the only reason I'm even paying attention to them, anymore (360 costs $100 to get repaired on send-in without warranty). I wouldn't get the Slim, though - lessened functionality, and the controller buttons no longer have pressure sensitivity.

I don't see what's so funny.

I think consoles are inferior to the PC. And the reason consoles are still around is amazing. The reason they kept going was there were no long loading times and generally smoother gameplay. Now, the Xbox and PS3 might have a smoother gameplay. Also, everything you can do on a console I can do better, faster and it'll be pretty.

I've always preferred consoles to pc's actually...lol. I grew up with the older game systems and never really played games on PC until WoW, GW and CoH. I guess a console holds more nostalgia for me AND it doesn't go out of date as quickly as a PC. It gets ridiculous any more.

My PC is 5ish years old. It's still running fine and I run games like TF2 and Crysis just fine. Aside from a Video Card and some better RAM it doesn't need many upgrades. Also, as I play many Valve games I can get ALL of my extra content for free and I am constantly getting updates.

My old N64 holds nostalgia, but Xbox isn't the same. If I want to play a controller I can plug an Xbox controller to my PC and play or go dig up my N64.

This sums it up for me. I don't have to worry about compatibility or anything, and consoles are fun. Plus, it's hard to have four people play on your laptop, but pretty easy with consoles.

Compatibility really is not an issue anymore.

The multiplayer at home is the only flaw...

Sure it is. If your computer isn't quick enough, you can't play XX. If you don't have XX amount of RAM, you don't get to play XX. For a long time I couldn't play Civilization 4 on a relatively new desktop, even though they were both Windows. I had to buy a whole new computer to be even close.

I bought my X-Box a couple years ago... Yep, still just as good as any other X-Box. Much cheaper than a new comparative computer, too.
