Yavin IV, the site of the famous battle over 1000 years ago sat mostly deserted. There were a few trainings that happened on the planet, but mostly it was archeologists excavating the ruins. The moon also held various creatures and beasts from uncontrolled experiments some sith had done. Thus, it appeared based on the mission they were given, a certain Massassi sithspawn was running amok killing the excavators and that was bad for business. He left the temple on Korriban by way of his personal ship and traveled the short distance between the two planets.

He settled the ship in a rather large clearing in the jungle, obviously a pad that had been set up before. He was apparently going to have help with the mission, but as of yet had not seen anyone or anything else. He powered down the ship and stepped out onto the ground. He stretched the muscles in his legs and arms invigorating them with their new freedom before setting off in the direction of the temple he had spotted on the way to this particular landing pad.

A few minutes would pass before Grik saw the other ship land. His repainted Jedi Starfighter landed several meters away from the fighter in the clearing. Grik stepped out of the fighter and jumped down, donning his Durgolosk hide leather armor. He carried with him his slugthrower pistol, at his hip, his scimitar sheathed on his back, his rifle in hand and his lightsaber at his side, opposite his pistol. He looked at the ship he landed next to and tried to follow the scent as well as the force presence of anyone in the immediate area. Doing so, he allowed his force signature to be noticed as well. The scent wafted toward the temple he had also notices. "Sithspawn could be Force Sensitive too." he thought and shouldered his rifle as he walked through the jungles of Yavin IV.

For a large part of the walk it had been silent until a Stintaril fell dead from a tree with its gut missing. Oh, the stench was horrendous. Grik brought his rifle up, and searched through the trees before seeing something seemingly leap through the canopy. The barabel hissed and turned around, to find that he was at the temple. Another Sith was there as well. He could sense his draw to the dark side. "I am friendly, no alarms." he said, in his gravelly, broken Basic speak. He re-shouldered his rifle and approached the man with his palms facing forward, something the people of his clan would do to show that they were not a threat. Once he got closer to the man, he stretched a hand out. "I am Grik. Grik Volic. I am your assistance."

He reached the temple as he felt another presence dart away through the trees. He sighed, it seemed the game was afoot. He could feel another presence drawing closer as well. As the beast approached wielding a blaster no less he cocked his head slightly in a questioning look from behind his mask. He extended a hand as well to meet his. "Welcome," he said pointing to the trees signaling the sithspawn was headed away from them.

He wasted no time in scaling a nearby tree with assistance from the force and began to tear through the branches following in the footsteps of the presence he felt ahead of them. He hoped the sithspawn would lead them to its home so they could find the remains of the excavators as had been requested. If it did not the mission became significantly harder as bones do not have a presence in the force. He sighed as he leaped from tree to tree hoping the other sith was as competent as he.

Grik followed the human up the trees, and followed, using his claws and tail to scale the tree, then using the Force to follow, bursting with speed through the trees, snapping branches, catching up with the Human to eventually surpass him, before leaping upward and forward, and taking aim at the sithspawn whilst in the air with his rifle. Three blaster bolts cried out in the ancient forest, two narrowly missing, the third, clipping the arm of the beast. "Got him!" he turned and shouted back, "He's wounded, go after him!!" he said before force jumping forward again, following the scent of the Stintaril that was still hanging out of its mouth. He popped of three more shots, hitting an unsuspecting Jungle Felucian, a tree, and going between the legs of the sithspawn. Grik hissed after missing and fired five shots, all centered around the sithspawn, who would get hit twice in the side before disappearing behind a temple wall.

A sith using a blaster seemed so foreign and wrong to him. He could only glare as the beast fired at the sithspawn. The man truly did not understand what they were facing it seemed. The beast could regenerate from the blasts he was firing at it. The only way to put down the type they were following was to slice it to pieces before it had the opportunity to heal. He didn't bother commenting as he followed the beast sith continuing to foolishly fire at the sithspawn. The sithspawn disappeared behind a wall of the temple much to Damion's relief. He could sense the sithspawn but couldn't see it, at least yet. He jumped from the tree towards the wall the sithspawn had disappeared behind and landed lightly on his feet. His control over the force was continuing to improve.

There was no sign of the sithspawn except for a small trail of blood that continued in the southern direction but stopped a short distance away. He pointed that way as he walked in the general direction trying to fix on the force signature of it. He could feel no trace as of yet, but continued to walk glaring at the other man occasionally from behind his mask as he scanned the trees and the ground looking for something, anything the sithspawn could be hiding in or on.

Grik stopped next to the Human and slung the rifle over his shoulder, unsheathing his scimitar. He followed the blood on the floor until it abruptly stopped. "Must be regenerative." he mumbled to himself. "I feel you glaring into me." he said in broken Basic. "You don't like that I use blasters. Growing up where I did, you had to. If you didn't you died. Even if to test the prey you must shoot them. To see what they are made of. I know now that I must bring him in close. And I will." he said, before leaning down to get a scent from the blood, as the stintaril scent ran cold. "He's close. Could be watching us." Grik said, leaning up and looking at the masked human.

Damion did not say a word in response. The only thing he showed close to emotion was a nod in the beast's direction. He nodded again when he talked about the regeneration and waved for the man to continue when he glanced back at him. He could feel the creature was close and he could agree it was probably watching them. He looked out at the temple on the left and the trees covering the way to the right. A perfect nest for the beast would be the abandoned temple and it was there he figured to check first.

He walked slowly unarmed around the first wall of the temple. It appeared something had disturbed the area. He could just make out bones near a doorway leading into the temple. He sighed, he did not want to have to enter the ruins but it looked unavoidable. He approached slowly sensing an increase in fear coming from the direction. He could see that the bones near the door were clearly human. He figured they were what was left of the excavators. He knelt observing the length of the femur and the hip structure, which indicated it was a tall male matching the description of the missing excavator. He drew one of his blades, which happened to be the ex-jedi's lightsaber and ignited it shining the light into the oppressing darkness. He waved for the other sith to catch up and stepped inside.

Grik followed closely behind, flicking his tongue at the air, tasting it. He knew the sithspawn was close. He let out a low hiss as they came around to the bones. He picked one up and examined it. Traces of saliva on the bone noted that the bone had been cleaned off completely by whatever ate it. He picks up a scent and goes into the dark hallway and gets low, creeping through the dark, his eyes already adjusted to the darkness. The sound of gurgling came from down the hallway. It seemed as though the sound came from deep within the temple. Grik hissed again and darted into the darkness, being a virtual blur past his partner.

It had occured to him that the Human was not here for formalities and decided to go ahead and go for his prize. He went where the scent lead him and eventually to a large opening, of sorts, like a courtyard of sorts. The platforms below were a gruesome sight to behold. The gore was so immense the Barabel was unsure what kind of platform lay beneath. He covered his nose and scanned the area finding nothing until a flash flew across his vision. It was close, he could tell because he felt the wind off of it. He turned, and drew his scimitar toward where he saw the red flash go by. He tasted the air. The air was foul and smelled of decayed massacre. One area in particaular was shaped of a man with large facial tendrils. He charged, hissing as he did so, taking a foul swing, clipping the arm. The beast was fast and jumped out of the fray giving him time to regenerate. "Come out, you coward!" he hissed into the darkness. "I'll sssssssskin you alive!!!"

The other sith took one of the bones as well carefully examining the scent and bite marks near the end. Damion had waited just inside the door for the man to join him and he quickly caught up heading deeper into the temple. The gloom only worsened as they headed further from the light. However, as they stepped into the collapsed opening light flooded into the chamber and the blood and filth coating the room was sickening.

He shook his head as he moved towards the beast. He saw the other sith had wounded the beast but it was fast and had nearly already healed once again. He thought idly how they would defeat the sithspawn as he summoned another lightsaber to his hand and joined the other sith on the offensive. With the assistance of force speed, he charged towards the beast crossing the distance in a few seconds. He swung the blade cleanly slicing one of the beast's legs off. After which, the beast rolled away towards the nearest exit "walking" on its arms. He hoped the other sith could get in front of him as he wanted to end the conflict quickly, but found the other sith in the opposite direction. The sithspawn's leg regenerated and he flipped back to the legs running in the opposite direction.

Damion sighed as he watched the sithspawn exit. It was going to be a long day.

Shots rang out from the darker corner of the room they were in when the sithspawn attempted to leave. Three blaster bolts in a tight grouping pelted the Sithspawn before it, again, turned a corner. Wielding his saber now, Grik rushed out, ready to kill this thing. "Stop running and fight, you coward!" he hissed at it as it came into view.

The Sithspawn stopped and turned toward the Barabel. The three shots were visible on its torso. Grik stood ready in the Ataru ready stance, ready to unleash hell as soon as the Sithspawn made the first move. Moments went by as they stared each other down in still silence, the only sound filling the air was the hum of Grik's lightsaber, whose crimson light reflected off of his scales.

The sithspawn had stopped surprisingly and had turned to face the other sith. Damion took the opportunity to get around behind the sith with two of his sabers continuing to glow in the decreased visibility. He had effectively trapped the beast between the two sith and there was nowhere left to run. The time was drawing near for the beast to be vanquished. The other sith had stopped this time lightsaber at the ready. He double checked the passageway behind him before turning back to the problem at hand. He waved for the other sith to attack as he held both sabers defensively.

Grik stood his ground as his partner got around the creature. He glared into it's unnatural eyes and hissed. Keeping an eye on his partner, he noticed he motioned for him to attack. Rapidly closing the distance, with a guided force lunge, he cut the midsection of the sithspawn with a horizontal strike, followed with a quick spinning kick to sever the last remaining meat on his midsection.

The other sith had effectively cut the beast in two. It was the opportunity he needed. He utilized the force to hold the top section of the sithspawn in place and stepped up cleanly severing the arms and head from the body and slicing the torso and head to pieces before allowing it to collapse to the ground. It was time to gather the bones of the excavators and leave the cursed place and the ruins that covered the planet.

He deactivated his sabers and clipped them back to his belt and walked with authority back the way they had come, through the gore and gruesome sight of what was left of the main chamber of the temple. He made it to the bones outside the door, confirming they were the excavators and headed back towards his ship. Their job was done. Nothing was left to discuss. He re-boarded his fighter and headed back towards the sith homeworld of Korriban.

Grik followed after his silent partner back to Korriban. It was there, he had time to rest and meditate on his experience, which had been a rare one for an Acolyte. He meditated alone in his dorm room in the temple, practicing his proficiency in maneuvering objects telepathically, keeping a bone of his kill, or assist rather, for those who wish to get technical. He would fashion that into an ornament of some kind.
