After the lap dance, Tiamat felt as though she were a bit shell shocked, uncertain of what she had just gotten involved with this game and the group of acolytes. The woman started to chug the rest of her beer when Vahl gave Sol another challenge, the kid didn't look like he even recovered yet from the sensual lap dance as Altair seemed to take his leave. As he seemed to find his answer, Vahl then turned her attention to Tiamat as she finished the bottle.

She grinned back as the teen came up with her dare for the redhead, though it wasn't as terrible as it sounded. She had no idea if Renfry would even believe it. Tiamat reached around the ledge to grab her comm, pulling up Renfry's number as she started to send a series of emojis: a redheaded face, baby, 9, calendar, boyface, question mark.

Satisfied with her message, the woman hit send, sending the faux announcement to Renfry (@Phoenix).

"Dooone." she said and powering down her comm to avoid replying to any messages. Though Tiamat paused, her thoughts drifting as she thought how this conversation was going to go the following days ahead. Inhaling deeply, she climbed out of the hot tub, wasn't there supposed to be cake?

The dip in the pool had been the cleansing refresher Aadya had needed after dancing with Altair. While her level of... excitement wasn't as easily distinguishable as Altair's was, she nevertheless was having her own struggles and thoughts of Aunt Gertrude and there was nothing better to fix that than diving headfirst into a cold pool.

Having not joined the large group of others at the hot tub, Aadya instead opted for a seat at the bar. A steady stream of drinks came her way, most of them clear liquor with some sort of fruit in it. While Aadya wanted to be kind of drunk, she didn't want to be positively blasted. Dark liquor always lead to getting positively blasted.

She had stolen glances toward Altair while he played truth or dare with the others, Aadya unable to keep herself from smiling at just how much of an adorable goon he was. Altair always seemed in his element when he was around others and just having fun. She liked seeing him like that. She.. well, Aadya just liked seeing him in general.

Maybe it was just her thoughts shimmering with the haze of liquor, but when Aadya caught eyes with Altair as he left the hot tub, she nodded back with a small smile and slid from her seat with a plan. Heading over to the gift table, she snatched up her card and made her way over to where Altair sat on the beach.

You looked like you were having fun, She said, sitting down next to him before shuffling over just a bit so that their thighs were touching. Happy birthday. Aadya said softly, turning the card over in her hands. Before I give you this, I did want to ask you a question. Something I.. Aadya trailed off for a moment, her dark mahogany gaze searching for Altair's.

Something I've wanted to ask for a little while but was always.. well, kind of afraid to. I'm not very good at this kind of thing. Nervousness stirred in Aadaya and made its way to her voice. Figuring if she didn't ask him now that she might never ask, Aadya stared into his eyes for just a moment longer before her question came.

Will you be my boyfriend?

Altair was enjoying the nice heat on his body and the sounds of the ocean were lulling him to sleep. Others would be sloshed by now, but his body was rapidly filtering out the alcohol. He sported a heavy buzz, but he wasn’t plastered. The water brushed against his toes, his mind wandering back to Aadya. She had looked at him from the pool, but she was surrounded by others. The tiefling closed his eyes and prepared for a nap. That was when he heard some shuffling and looked up to spot Aadya. There was no helping the way his tail eagerly began to wave even with him on the sand. Altair sat up a bit more, offering her a smile when she sat down by him. He noticed she had the letter with her - one he had planned to read when he was away from everyone else.

“You know I always dig a party,” He said with a cheesy grin. By now it became a common theme that he always found himself smack dab in the middle of crowds. Altair looked at her, slightly surprised at seeing her almost nervous. He said nothing for a moment, watching her circle around with her words and struggle a bit. It was so unlike her that it caught him off guard, but he patiently waited. Her very last question completely gave him pause. His jaw visibly dropped and he was dead silent for a moment. Altair reached up to remove his shades so she could gaze into his violet hues.

His mind and heart were racing, and he felt as if the air had been knocked out of his chest. At the same time, his tail swished back and forth in the beach comically to kick up a bit of sand. Altair blinked a few times, his eyes wide in shock. In truth, he had been skirting right around this topic and pretending he didn’t have things bubbling up deep within. He had told himself so many times it was from a place of need and nothing more, but he couldn’t keep doing that any longer. Her question repeated in his head multiple times and he didn’t take his eyes off her.

A song began to play in the background, and Altair began to slowly smile. In typical Altair fashion, he began to quietly sing to Aadya, rapidly replacing the lyrics of the song with his own. He could think of no other way to express himself.

Song

“Sometimes all I think about is you, late nights in the middle of June. These feels been freakin’ me out, can I make you happy or nah?
Sometimes all I think about is you, late nights in the middle of June. These feels been freakin’ me out, can I make you happy or nah?
Usually I smoke,
Somethin’ to soothe me,
So I never think,
About you and me,
But today I see,
Our reflections,
Clearly in Dorumaa,

Laying in the sea”

“You just need a better life than this,”
He grasped her hand as he sang glancing down at the burn marks, “You need somethin’ that I wanna give.”

“Fake people all across the road,

They gone now the sun’s come out and
Sometimes all I think about is you,
Late nights in the middle of June,
These feels been freakin’ me out,

Can I make you happy or nah?”

He looked deep into her eyes,

“I can’t fight it,
I can’t breathe,
You say somethin' so lovin’ but,
Now I’ve gotta let you know,
I ain’t want anybody else but you,
I don’t wanna be alone,
You know it gets me too,
You look so perfect when you smile,

One more and I wanna make you mine,”

Altair sang the chorus one more time as he leaned in before finally capturing her lips after having provided his answer.

As much as she enjoyed the jets massaging her legs, she was getting lonely on her own. The cute-looking Tiefling was chatting with the Zabrak, so she didn't want to bother them, and the hot tub was too crowded for her liking. But then, as if the Force was shining on her, Altair exited the hot tub and made his way to the beach.

The half-Annfyn began to crawl her way out of the pool, but it was admittedly more difficult now that Vahl wasn't there to help her. And by the time she was able to get back on her feet, Altair was no longer alone. No, she was there.

Clove would not have bothered if it had been any other day; she would have looked away and done something else. But this wasn't any other day, and she was incredibly nosey. With her heart pounding with thrills, the girl began to creep closer to the beach, making sure she hid behind a wall, a chair, or whatever else she could find in her way. Did it make her look like an idiot? Yes. But, thankfully, there was a crowd, so her attempt at sneaking was barely noticeable.

She peered over the side of a wall once she felt she was close enough to eavesdrop on the two. Her brows were furrowed, and her fluted ears perked up like satellite disks. And yet, even after getting closer, she still couldn't hear them well. Because there were far too many sounds to focus on, even for her sensitive ears. And focusing was a tough enough task as is. But, thankfully, she could see them.

Somewhere along the line Altair took off his glasses, and judging his lips, he was either citing a poem, singing, or rambling like crazy, because his lips kept moving and moving.

And then he suddenly kissed her.

The half-Annfyn's large eyes widened and the sight of their kiss kicked the air out of her lungs. Altair was in grave danger. Aadya was a psychopath who destroyed spines and crushed skulls with no regard for life, clearly she was toying with the poor Tiefling. Why did she have to entice him? Why him, of all people? He was supposed to be her first true friend outside of the Jedi Order, her freedom. The absolute donkey witch. Clove should come over, toss Aadya into the ocean where some shark can chomp on her pretty face, and warn Altair. Yes! Yes, she should go and do it!

And yet she didn't.

Clove, with a hurt expression on her face and her ears drooping, instead took a few steps backward before turning onto her heels. Knowing that sharky boy and Vahl were in the hot tub, she made a beeline for it. And, to her luck, the Eternal had just stepped out of the tub. When she arrived, she put her hands on the tub's side and forced a smile on her lips. "Hey! You all still playing Truth or dare? Mind if I join?" Clove had already started climbing into the tub, her already stiff legs moving far less than she would have liked, regardless of their response. She finally landed on her butt in the hot tub after a few awkward moves and a small slip, close to Vahl and Sharky. "Who's turn is it?"

"Teen girl drama?" Imani didn't stifle the surprised - albeit amused - expression that came over her features at that comment. She accepted the beer thereafter, and her features softened back to an almost flirtatious smile as she did.

"Imani," came her answer just before she lifted the beer to her lips and took a drink. No matter the strength of the drink, her body's ability to rid her bloodstream of toxins so efficiently meant she would never stay drunk for too long. For now though, as she sat and chatted with the zabrak for a little bit, she could feel the buzz in her skin. The Tiefling didn't drink often, so that happens.

Her attention briefly jumped away from Draugr when she noticed her brother making his way down to the beach. She moved as if to follow, but stopped when she noticed a girl get out of the pool and head after him. "Teen girl drama..." Yeah, she'd leave him be. Instead of following, Imani pushed herself forward into the pool, landing next to the Zabrak. Her head came up just above his chest, and they were close enough she had to look up at him a bit.

"So..." She set her empty beer to the side and pulled a volleyball seemingly out of nowhere, then held it against his chest. "You ever played pool volley?"

There was a net not too far away. All they'd have to do was string it across the pool and they'd be set.

Imani took a step back, sank into the water a bit, and brought the ball with her into both hands. "You game?"

Truth be told, Aadya wasn't really sure exactly what kind of response she was expecting from Altair. Of all the different scenarios that she ran through her mind every time she thought about doing what she just did, him breaking out into song to say yes had never occurred to her even once.

She loved every single thing about it.

As Altair sang to her, Aadya could do little else but let the most genuine smile spread across her face. Her cheeks flushed just a little bit, Aadya unable to tear her gaze away from Altair. As he leaned in to kiss her, Aadya met him halfway, her lips pressing against his passionately as she wrapped her arms around his torso.

It was a moment she wanted to last forever. Just her and him together with nothing and no one else to distract them from each other. When Aadya finally managed to pry herself from kissing Altair, she buried her head in his chest, pushing him back just a bit so they could lay embraced together on the beach.

As they laid there, Aadya's fingers ran through and played with Altair's hair and she chose to stay quiet. Normally there would be a million thoughts running through her head at a time like this, but it was almost like the crashing waves on the beach washed them all away. For the first time in a long time - maybe ever - Aadya's mind felt the quiet serenity of contentment.

After awhile, Aadya would finally sit up and remember the card she had brought. Reaching over, she picked it up out of the sand and handed it to Altair.

It might seem a little corny now, She said with a laugh, turning to look at Altair with sheepish smirk on her face. But don't laugh! It's supposed to be cute when you give sappy gifts to your boyfriend.

Aadya said the word expecting it to seem weird or foreign coming off her tongue. Instead, she was pleasantly surprised when it sounded natural, that the idea of her and Altair together was as normal as hearing the ocean when you were sitting on a beach.

Staring out towards the water, Aadya was quiet for a moment before turning back to Altair. Want to head back to the party? All of a sudden I am totally starving. She flashed Altair another warm smile, still a little awestruck at the whole situation that had just unfolded. Plus, I think we're due a shot to celebrate!

Imani, a good name.

"Nice to meet you Imani."

After taking a drink with her he noticed the boy Altair making his way over to the beach. Looked to be one of the same girls that he had to deal with before following him out there. There was no end, but when you're young and hopelessly in love you do dumb things like fight over a single person. He had the same thing going for him back in his acolyte days, so he wouldn't bat an eye at it. Instead he would move his attention back to the teifling woman who slipped into the pool next to the Zabraki. His eyes would drop down to meet hers then even further when the ball she held had pushed up against his chest.

"Pool Volley? Never but I will give it a go I suppose.."

He downed the rest of what was in his drink and then tossed the can over his shoulder out of the pool and then followed the horned woman with a drunken smile,

"You and I are a team, you'll have to teach me. Now we just need opponents."

He would wave his hand using the force to pull the net across the pool and then placing it over the poles on each side of the pool. Once it was set he would release his grip and then look around the pool trying to find any worthy opponents. Though he gave up quickly and would just call out,

"Give me two for a two against two game of Pool Volley."

He would look over to Imani with a curious smile,

"I said that right.. right?"

While words may have left him flustered and nervous, singing came very naturally to him. He was able to rapidly convey everything he needed in more ways than he ever would otherwise. He smiled warmly at Aadya after drawing back from the kiss. Even that kiss felt different though he had kissed her many times before. Altair reached a hand up to gently brush aside a strand of hair on her face, taking the time to really look at her. He often stole glances, never lingering too long in case she could see what was going inside his mind. Now he didn’t have to hide it anymore, and he took his time.

The tiefling laid back when Aadya leaned against his chest, his arm wrapping around her small frame and easily engulfing her in his grasp. He gazed up at the clear sky, watching the birds in the far distance, spotting people parasailing and balloons in the air. He could lay here for days with Aadya’s comfortable weight against him, the way her chest rose and fell with his, the way her hair brushed against his skin. For that entire moment, he forgot about anyone and anything else, and the self sabotaging voice inside his head finally shut up.

He looked over and took the card when she handed it to him, sitting up as he did so. His face grew hot at the term boyfriend, his mind still processing it. Altair finally opened the letter, taking a moment to read through it. The emotions became clear on his face as he read through it, and he remained staring at it long after he was done reading. His mind went to many corners, many places, his thoughts reflecting on himself and who he was as a man. And who he wanted to be for her. Who she wanted to be for him. She had laid her soul bare, and he would cherish this. His eyes began to get a little glossy before he cleared his throat and rubbed his face, attempting to play it off like he got sand in his eye. Altair neatly folded the letter and put it back in the envelope.

“I just wanna be somewhere alone with you, baby,” He said after clearing his throat, a genuine smile on his face before he leaned in to kiss her again, “But let’s get you fed. I ain’t brave enough to deal with a hangry Firrerreo,” Altair said with a wink before he stood up and helped her to feet. This time, he held her hand like a total sap, walking with her over to the food table. He briefly glanced over at the cake, but for some reason it looked as if it had been tampered with.

Altair poked around as he grabbed a few snacks. There was a giant punch bowl and he recognized the smell at once, “Awww shit, Forest Juice,” He said as he ladled some into a cup and did the same for Aadya. This was a dangerously deceptive and tasty drink. He clinked his glass against hers, “Cheers to you givin’ me the honor of datin’ you, m’am,” He said with a heavy twang of his home planet accent like he knew she liked. Altair winked before tossing his drink back.

Finn having downed more of his beer, panic drinking at the thought of what his father would do, was slipping more and more into uncharted territory. He had never been this drunk, and he was surprised at how much he was liking it. He was in a hot-tub, he had a nice chilled beer in his ahnd, and a pretty girl had just smiled at him. He was really liking it.

He observed the game as more dares were shot out, and tried to think of something cool to say, either as a dare or a truth. But his faculties weren't as primed as they normally were, and he was mostly drawing a blank. That was till Clove showed up and joined them. Remembering her previous comment about her legs, Finn finally had an idea. Inspired as much by sappy rom-coms that he wolfed in secret, as by his own inexperienced mind, he was getting brave. And not satisfied with getting one pretty girl to smile at him, he wanted two. So he turned to Vahliri and shot the next dare at her.

"I dare you," he said as he gestured towards her with his bottle, "to giver her," he then gestured at Clove, "a foot message." Giving Clove a satisfied grin, sure that he had just won some major brownie points, he leaned back against the hot-tub wall and waited.

Vahliri kept her eyes on Tiamat the entire time, watching with no lack of glee as the redheaded Sith pulled out her commlink in order to complete the dare. The half-Annfyn couldn’t help the smirk that worked its way onto her face, amusement dancing across her expression as she considered the firestorm of return texts that Tiamat was likely to receive from her bestie - which, of course, Vahliri didn’t exactly piece together was the actual Empress.

The Acolyte couldn’t help but consider herself in the same situation or the reaction she might receive from Ashla. She was fairly certain the Togruta would track her down on foot for answers.

Shaking her head, she watched for a moment as Tiamat climbed out of the hot tub, offering the woman a small wave as she left the group - only for Clove to suddenly appear to fill the vacancy. “Hey Clove!” She said with a friendly smile, gesturing for the felllow Annfyn to take a seat on her left - putting Vahliri between Finn and the other half-Annfyn. With that, her attention shifted right back to Finn - fluted ears perking and twitching a bit as the fellow Acolyte spoke.

Her honeyed eyes flicked over to Clove for a moment before moving back to Finn as he dared her to give the other girl a massage. “What, not you?” She asked him with a wide grin, her gaze lingering on his own for a long moment before she simply shrugged. “Alright,” Vahliri slid off from where she was sitting, repositioning herself to face Clove. The half-Annfyn reached into the water and lifted the other girl’s ankle gingerly above the surface - careful of any lingering tension or pain the half-Annfyn might’ve still experienced. Once there, Vahliri wrapped both hands around Clove’s foot - her thumbs pressing down into the beds of the girl’s feet and beginning to apply pressure in circular motions.

As she massaged, Vahliri couldn’t help the way that her amber eyes wandered around the rest of the resort - eventually drifting over in Altair’s direction. She purposefully didn’t make it obvious, and even her sensitive hearing couldn’t pick up on shit, but the half-Annfyn watched him from the corner of her eye - and that was more than enough to see the entire exchange between the two of them.

She felt that familiar spike of discomfort that coursed through her veins, watching as the pair leaned in to embrace one another on the beach. It was a kiss that was far more than anything purely carnal in nature - an underlying affection there that was obvious even without words, and one that Altair actively encouraged and initiated. She watched as the pair rose up from the beach and began to make their way over to the table, hands knitted together and practically swaying in rhythm as they walked.

Vahliri watched the two of them, and the half-Annfyn couldn’t help the dull ache that settled into her stomach - sensations of hurt washing over the Acolyte in place of the usual jealousy and frustration. She saw the way that Altair smiled, and the way his tail swished excitedly as he gazed at the Firrerreo, and that alone told Vahliri more than words ever could. It made it clear that she couldn’t simply be angry at Aadya for aggressively pursuing or trying to get in the Tiefling’s pants, because there was something deeper there - and something that Altair willingly embraced with the Firrerreo. Something the Tiefling had made clear he had no desire to embrace with her in the same way.

The half-Annfyn barely noticed the way her fluted ears bent down almost defeatedly - the subtle gesture likely only one that Clove would pick up on at once. She glanced down at the fellow half-Annfyn’s foot once more, finishing up the foot massage after a few additional seconds before letting go. “Done,” She said, looking over to Finn and flashing the Acolyte a smile - albeit one that was far more forced than it was before - the thoughts of Altair still swirling in her mind. Without another word, Vahliri lifted herself and plopped back into her seat - purposefully keeping her back turned to both Altair and Aadya. She didn’t want to think about all that had occurred between herself and the Tiefling, or the ways she suddenly felt inadequate next to the Firrerreo in that moment. Instead, Vahliri simply reached for her beer bottle and took a long, deep drink from it - attempting to bury down the feelings of hurt that threatened to manifest outwardly.

“So,” She said after a long moment, glancing over at Clove. “You’re turn throw out a dare to someone.”

Huh? A foot massage?

Clove shifted her gaze from Finn to Vahl, then back to Finn, blinking her long lashes. Somebody she barely knew would be touching her feet?

Vahl had already gingerly grabbed Clove's ankle and lifted her leg up before she could even utter a protest. Although, to Vahl's credit, she was being careful. Clove's feet, thankfully, were clean; she made it a point to wash them thoroughly and frequently. After all, why would she soil expensive shoes with her stinky, gross feet? No. Everything was spotless and well-manicured.

Clove let out a sigh of relaxation, her shoulders visibly loosening, despite her cheeks burning ever so slightly, a common theme at this party. Vahl knew what she was doing and it genuinely felt nice, as awkward as the idea of the massage was.

Even so, as nice as the massage felt, the half-Annfyn couldn't help but notice her fellow half-Annfyn's ears drooping ever so slightly. Clove could be naive and aloof when it came to emotions she didn't understand, but that small drop in Vahl's ears told her enough. Because she not only saw it in her mother's ears, but she also just felt it in her own.

Even though Clove had no idea why Vahl felt hurt, it was enough for her to shuffle closer after the foot massage was finished. She took Vahl's hand in hers for a split second and squeezed it, a squeeze that said more than words; even though she was a stranger, she understood Vahl's pain and would be there for her, if she needed it. Then she let go of half-hand Annfyn's and smiled brightly. "My own dare? Hmmmm."

Clove's lips pouted briefly as she considered a good dare. Then she had an idea, one that caused her to softly giggle to herself. "Heh. Okay. Sharky boy Sol! I dare you to show us your most embarrassing picture on your commlink!"
