Want to know why I was gone for such extensive periods of time before the time skip, aside from waiting for it to actually happen? Well here you go. Leah's biography isn't posted yet, and that's because this is more of an INTEREST CHECK. This is not for sure. I want to see what sort of feedback and interest I can get in this before I bother posting Leah's profile or carrying out this idea.

What is courage without risk? It wouldn't really be called courage, would it?

What do we do?
We do it all.
[floatleft]http://i.imgur.com/MK5fxzA.jpg[/floatleft]Smuggling, security, enforcement, extortion; if the price is right, you can bet we'll do our damnedest to get the job done in a timely manner. We owe our loyalties to ourselves, and so don't mind stepping on some toes. The fragmented remnants of the Galactic Alliance, the New Sith Imperium -- we'll work for anyone, against anyone.

We will not, however, harm the innocent. We don't mind browbeating or smacking around a ruffian to get the credits he owes you, but we will not kill someone simply out of spite. Professionals like myself and my crew do have standards, and contract killing is below us. We try our best not to throw the first punch, but we will not hesitate to throw the second -- and you can damn well bet that you won't be getting up to throw a third.

Who are we?
We are a family.
[floatleft]http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130823181944/starwars/images/a/a1/Band_of_smugglers_EotE_by_Jake_Murray.jpg[/floatleft]When you step foot onto my ship, you are one of us. You are welcome among my crew when the rest of the galaxy rejects you. Misfits, outcasts, exiles, the weak and disdained, the defamed and shunned. Whether you're a twi'lek, a zabrak, or even a sith, I don't care -- and neither does the rest of my crew. Your race is moot, your previous allegiances void. We will shelter you and protect you, so long as you protect us.

That being said, if a contractor has issues with the race or previous allegiance with one of my crew, they have one of two options: suck it up and deal, or find themselves a new contact. I will not accept a job for someone under the stipulation of leaving behind or dismissing one of my own. As well as if a fellow crew member has any lingering prejudices, they will be dealt with swiftly. Infighting will not be tolerated, nor will spite against one another simply because of the culture they were born into. We are all equal.

However, do not mistake my kindness for passiveness. I demand excellence from everyone under my care. You will pull your own weight, you will contribute to the crew and our contracts, or there will be repercussions. I ask of my crew nothing that I myself would not do. It is a fine, albeit easy line to walk

More specifically, who am I?
I am Leah Caldwell.
[floatleft]http://i.imgur.com/nECFCOt.png[/floatleft]I was born in Qaestar Town on the planet of Talus.

As a child, I was always into trouble -- perhaps because of a lack of a maternal figure. I was always getting mixed in with the 'wrong' crowd, my father told me. He ran one of the most popular general stores in that town, was well respected, and many of the 'lowlifes' that resided there were content to let my father be. However, I didn't want to live the monotonous life of standing behind a counter day in and day out. I longed, nay yearned, for excitement in my life. So I always went out with the ragtag bands of thieves, thugs and pickpockets to rough up some of the offworlders for fun and sport.

As I continued to get older, I realized that petty small-time harassment wasn't enough for me. I wanted to make a name for myself, and I wanted to see the rest of the galaxy. I wanted to scour the ends of the known 'verse for people just like me, and stir up lots of trouble on the way. That was when I first stumbled across a starship graveyard, where they sent the gutted husks of destroyed, looted, or simply outdated ships to be turned into scrap, or sold to the highest bidder. It was there that I found my ship, now known as The Iron Will.

It took me forever to get that thing running, but my father begrudgingly helped me restore the outdated vessel to its former glory -- and then some. Even my old mates from my street walking days had chipped in to help me fulfill my dream, and before long, she was completed. I named her The Iron Will after my father because, well... I know raising me wasn't easy. It was an ode to him as much as it was for the plans I had in store for the bird. So I set out, and I've been content to be a vagabond among the stars, my only limitations the ones I set for myself.

I worked for everyone and anyone -- the Hutt Cartel, the Sith Imperium, the Galactic Alliance. I've even done some jobs for the Mandalorians and the Chiss Ascendancy, believe it or not. I've also gotten into all the trouble I could ever dream of, from outraged contractors who discovered I helped their opposition to infuriated mercenaries I had stolen from in plain sight without their realization. Some of the upper echelon stiffs in the major factions are even out to get me, but I doubt that will last. It won't be long before they ask for my assistance again.

The Ship
swtor-starship-phantom-ca01_800x450.jpg

The Iron Will is a reengineered X-70B Phantom Class starship, originally conceived by the Empire in the days of the Old Republic. How one of these elusive starships wound up in the graveyard Leah found it in remains a mystery.

The ship maintains the original size it originally had during its production, approximately 80 meters in length and and 94 meters in width. Complete with hyperdrive and shielding, the ship also retains the majority of its original stealth plating -- although unable to properly due to lack of the correct, functional parts -- and high-power sensory arrays. The Iron Will is outfitted with standardized heavy laser cannons and missiles, but has also been retrofitted with two man-operated turrets, one on each wing.

Inside, there is the bridge at the forward most section of the ship. Upon stepping out of the bridge and into the hallway, the captain's quarters is to the left hand side. Proceeding through the door at the end of the hallway brings you to the lounge and recreation area for the crew members, complete with self-serve bar and various forms of entertainment. Heading through a doorway on the lefthand side brings you to the medical bay, while in the middle is a door leading to another hallway, and on the right the communications room. The hallway in the middle goes three directions; maintaining a straight path leads to the hyperdrive and stealth systems, as well as other technological facets of the ship, while the left leads to the cargo hold and the right to the crew quarters.

Also in said hallway is the drop ramp to enter and exit the vessel.

Recruiting Requirements

To join The Iron Will is to commit yourself to Leah, to her ship, and to her requirements of you. The requirements are as follows:
  • You must abandon all prejudices
    • Leah will not stand for prejudices against her, or those she adopts into her family. Crew members are to treat everyone equally, and any signs or displays of lingering racism or dislike based on gender, race, or previous affiliations, will be dealt with.
  • Previous allegiances are benign and moot
    • Upon stepping foot into The Iron Will, you forfeit all ties and obligations you had with any and all other factions. Your new loyalty lies solely with Leah and the other crew members of the ship. You are not forbidden to leave if you so choose, but for as long as you are a part of The Iron Will's crew, your bonds with other factions are indefinitely severed. We do not show favoritism to any faction.
  • You are expected to carry your own weight
    • No one, not even Leah, is immune to the duties and tasks maintaining a ship requires. Crew members are expected to tend to the ship in any way they can, from cleaning to maintenance. You earn your stay on the ship, idleness or reluctance to assist will be met in kind with repercussions the shirking of your duties, no matter how trivial, would entail.
  • Your crew is your family
    • Tying in with the above, and the first stipulation of the requirements of becoming a crew member, you are to assist your fellow crew members as often as you can. Should they ask something of you that does not go against any of the other requirements, you are expected to help them if it is possible. As said before, this is more than a crew: it is a family. You are, for as long as you or any others are a part of the crew, to treat them as if they are blood, similar to the Mandalorian way.

Should you feel that you can withhold these requirements at any and all times, you are free to seek membership.

(Simply post your character's name [with a link to their profile], the position you believe they would best fulfill, why they would want to become a crew member of The Iron Will, and anything notable they've done to make them a consideration. It's that easy.)

I'd love to do a crossover with the Wicked Crew, if you get some steam. These ship'n'crew RPs are notoriously hard to keep active, though. Best of luck, hope to see this get going!

I've actually really been wanting to do something similar myself. I do have a character spot open...If you get a few more people I would definitely be interested in joining as technician/navigator.

I'll keep you in mind for future plans/ideas if I can get this up and running.

Sounds good to me. All I can advise is keeping an eye on the thread for future updates, as I likely won't remember to send PMs to people who are interested.

Got ya, are you thinkin a small group of like 5ish or is there the possibility of it turning into a fleet operation if there's enough interest over time?

It would likely remain just a small group, though I wouldn't cross out the possibility of making it a larger fleet if enough interest comes about. I highly stress that if, though.

Hey! Thats my ship! Thief! :CFuu

I beg to differ.

EDIT: I have never, ever even looked at the technology board before seeing your image. I found these pictures in an image search which lead me straight to the above article. I don't know if you're joking or not, but I am not "stealing" your ship.

Best pilot or engineer

I'm seeing how much interest the idea gets before I try to get anyone to commit, so I'll make sure to get back to you.

Actually, it was used as a Ferox-class Frigate in the Chiss Ascendancy loooong before that was submitted, Lucien, so if you want to get technical, you stole it too.

I am, and Im not, It is possible that more tahn one of these ships survived that war, the part which urks me is its stealth capability, as I had to remove anything stealth related from my ship and I had watered down the stealth alot.

Here's a thought: let's not get possessive over pictures we didn't create, hm? As I mentioned above, you weren't the first person to use it either.

If Never was using your write-up without your permission, you'd have a gripe. But he's not, so you don't. It' a different ship, so it can have all the stealth it wants per the mods' approval. So let's all just be friends and not point fingers?

If it comes to that, I don't mind removing it too. If you'd like to direct an admin over here to give things a looking over, I don't mind. I wouldn't mind removing it right now just because. I've been working on this idea for a while now, so I'll happily remove anything that would seem unfair -- because I see why that would bother you -- and I just want to get this project up and running with as few problems as possible.

EDIT: Removed stealth capability, as mentioned.

Apologies if I came off harsh, I didnt really mean too. I have no problem with you using the same picture or model of ship, and even if I did, that by no means says that you shouldnt be able to use it as long as a admin dosent say otherwise.

Also, I dont know if a admin told you to remove the stealth, or if you did that of your own accord, but I appreciate it. :CRawr

It kind of felt like you were, which is why I became defensive about it myself. I hate being called a thief. No hard feelings about it, though -- it was just miscommunication on both our parts.

I removed the stealth of my own accord. Considering that they're both pretty much the same ship from the same era, I don't think it would be fair for me (who hasn't even posted the vessel in the technology thread yet) to have stealth, and for you not to.
