BIOGRAPHY

It is oft said that the best are saved for last, and it is oft said by the young Servius of himself very often, and very loudly. Though technically the youngest of three triplets, having exited a full hour after his other two siblings, Servius had been, from the moment of his birth, the most robust out of any– and that hadn’t changed over time. While his more politically savvy (and obviously more intelligent) siblings were busy learning how to politic, the youngest of the boys spent his days wrestling, practicing with the blade, and growing into a giant before he had even reached manhood.

His two older siblings had to live under the heavy expectations of their father, and the scrutiny of the court– but being so far from the top of the line of succession, the boy was given quite a bit more leeway than his siblings in what he could get away with. He found that the petty cruelties he exacted didn’t face nearly as much reproach as would be needed for him to suppress some of his urge. His size left him unchallenged in the yards, and his status left him unchallenged in court. By the time he reached “manhood” at the age of 16, the youngest son of the King was a hulk of a man, prone to cruelty, aggression, and frighteningly skilled in close quarters and melee combat for one of his age. Though none would dare say it to his face, it’s a relief that Servius had the weakest claim of all his father’s potential heirs… though, should his father die, it wouldn’t take much convincing for him to pass over the line of succession and take the throne for himself. He’d never been denied anything through most of his life– why should he be denied his birthright?

PERSONALITY

Unlike his father, who had been heir apparent to the throne, and thus needed to learn how to speak and convince allies and enemies alike– Servius Argeas, never expected to take the throne, was neither taught how to speak convincingly, nor to suppress his worst impulses. As such, all who know Argeas know him for what he is– a violent, wrothful brute with a complete disregard for the wellbeing of others, fueled by arrogance and lust, satisfied most often by acts of cruelty with a wide range of brutality. Servius has spent most of his life dedicated to the same crafts his own father indulged in his youth– hunting, fighting, and any other activity where he can demonstrate his strength and virility to his circle of “friends.” His father’s expectations don’t weigh too heavily on him– Argeas knows he has nothing to prove, being the strongest, largest, most skilled fighter (the last one being up for debate.) That being said, the prince’s pride is very easily wounded– and when insulted, he proves to have a temper that makes his own sire look calm by comparison.

GENERAL ATTRIBUTES

Strength– Servius is, as he often reminds all around him, strong. Rarely a day goes by where he doesn’t seek to prove this fact, lifting large boulders, heavy weights in the gym, cleaving slaves in half with a single cut just for his own amusement, breaking the arms of those he beats in wrestling practice just for fun. All of these feets prove him strong, but many prove him to be an utterly remorseless monster in the trappings of a prince.

Intelligence– Servius isn’t impaired, so to speak-- but to say he possesses any significant wit would be a flattery that only he would be gullible enough to take seriously. He seems incapable of understanding metaphor or subtlety, and his sense of humor is… crude, to say the least. A well structured joke will go over his head– no, Servius would instead laugh if he watched a man fall of his mount and snap his collarbone, or some other slapstick examples that would end in otherwise horrific violence.

SKILL

Close Quarters Combat– of all the young nobles of his world, none stand much of a chance when matched up against the young prince Argeas. While lacking in wit in most regards, Servius becomes an entirely different person once thrown into a combat situation. Rather than being a simple brute, merely waddling around clobbering his enemies, Servius knows how to use his size and strength in ways most wouldn’t expect such a lackwit to think of, using his full weight and the strength of his attacks to define his strategy in the ring.

Melee Combat– the boy prefers to use heavy weapons when not using his hands, bludgeoning opponents with maces, warhammers, or slashing at them with great axes and massive swords. While far from the most precise weapons, he doesn’t exactly need to be, as even a single blow is usually enough to send any man flying.
