Once the Wookie was within range, she slid in front of it. One clawed hand swiped down towards her and she met it hard with her blade, nearly entirely severing the limb before it let out a roar. Another few slices and its' head lolled to the ground, with her panting hard.

Hearing the scream, her head snapped up. One of her researchers?

She nodded once, and gripped her blade.

The sight made her blood run cold.

A group of Trandoshan--slavers, no doubt-- surrounded a group of what seemed like very frightened researchers. A few bodies from both sides littered the Shadowlands floor, however, a more pressing problem seemed to be at hand. There weren't zombie madclaws around.

They were the remaining crew of Grace Three, and they seemed peckish for more victims to AMS.

Their entire group made a run for it on Draco's command and only a few made it. Thankfully, the Doctor, Howler, Tundra, and Rabbit were still up. His legs carried him as fast as they could, the Wookies not just giving up as they went on the chase to finish off the rest. Bushes and branches would be pushed away just by the sheer force of his body, not even attempting to swipe obstacles out of the way or dodge them.

They would eventually find the Trandoshan slavers, a small group but were armed and surrounding the researchers that had gone missing. At first, multiple weapons were aimed at the squad of soldiers and the Doctor but when they saw that the group was still running despite that, the leader's eyes went up and caught the mass that was charging down the hill right after them. "Shit!" It would have been easy to fire upon them right then and there but it would have left them with fewer men to take care of the tide.

Draco stopped right next to the leader and spun around on his heel, loading a fresh new cartridge as he activated his comm, "Hold here!" Each soldier would stop and spin around, reloading their main weapon before raising it. The Trandoshan leader just glanced at Draco but when he saw the human pay no attention back to him, he ordered the other lizards to do the same as they would line up alongside the rest and even the Doctor.

The tide of undead crashed once they reached the bottom bill before beginning a fresh charge right at them. Thunderous Wookie roars echoed around the cabin and when they closed the distance a few meters, he finally gave the command, "NOW!" Everyone opened fire, pouring down an onslaught of hot plasma, simply just holding the trigger with the amount there were. The Trandoshans had their own type of weapons, some type of LMG a bigger one carried that poured hundreds of bolts downrange.

Decomposed and rotted flesh would just be torn apart by the barrage, some bolts piercing through multiple Wookies as they would all split in half. Limbs and heads would fly from the group of infected, a pile of steam beginning to build up among the ISC soldiers and Trandoshans. The tide reached about halfway until it was widdled down to practically nothing, each weapon running dry at that moment. What laid before them were dozens of bodies, more than he could just count in one glance. Some of them weren't even dead, half tore apart Wookie's still slowly crawling at them.

Draco straightened out to a full standing position as everybody lowered their guns and just admired the carnage before them. The Trandoshan leader opened his mouth, "Well..." Before he could finish, the soldier simply said one word, "Chimera." Instantly, Rabbit, Tundra, and Howler, including himself, drew out their blaster pistols and shot each Trandoshan in the chest or head. The one with the LMG was left and he tried to fire his blaster but it had ran out of ammo. Draco put one bolt between the Trandoshan's eyes and killed the last kidnapper.

The researchers instantly went and rushed to the Doc.

About a third of the original group survived.

Amariel could feel all of it. The shots that rang out, and the shock, fury and despair that erupted from the surviving Trandoshan group that rang like a hollow bell in her mind, almost reminding her of the mob in Nar Shaddaa that committed mass murder/suicide due to her influence. For a moment, bile rose up into her throat as she watched them all die with Draco's team's relentless eradication.

At the sudden grouping of her research team, she sighed in quiet relief.

"Where's Peterson?"

"Santoni tried to run but he got grabbed---"

"Benton got bitten, we amputated but he's in need of critical care--"

So many voices. So many emotions. And yet, she checked over all of them. Every last one. It took an age to stabilize and check everyone, to gather the remaining research material, to check on the rangers and the ships.

By the time it was over, her eyes burned from lack of sleep, from tension that strung a fine wire from her hips to her skull.

She glanced over her shoulder at Draco and his team.

"When this is over, allow me to treat you to drinks. It's the least I can do."

Just as the researchers rushed over to the Doctor, her role as their leader came through as they started to blast her with questions and situations that needed correcting. While that happened, Draco just turned around and told the others to secure the area while he inspected the bodies. Whatever information they had, how they discovered the researchers, if there were more still alive, would be found and processed, if they even had it on them.

When the researchers had managed to be calmed by the Doc, the rangers and their VIPS would move out and back to their ships. With the clearing of the horde, no infected came across their paths and he was thankful for it. They didn't have the ammunition really to hold off another attack such as that.

By the time they reached the ships, rangers went on one ship, the researchers and Doctor went on another ship. There was always work for them and Ilana had found the people she needed/wanted to find, their job was done. The three remaining rangers tiredly and thankfully got onto their ship, Draco the last one to step on the ramp before he heard the Doctor's voice call out to him.

He turned slightly and removed his helmet, the brand revealing itself down his face as he offered her a grin. "I don't think you realize how expensive of an offer that is. Let's just get you all home for now." He gave her a two-finger salute before entering his ship, the ramp closing as both of them would lift off and leave the atmosphere of the planet.
