Genius Droid Repair & Mods
Corellian District
Nar Shaddaa
Smoothly, the transport droid hovered around the metal table under the bright light. Splayed across the table was a silvery droid with his protective plates neatly piled to the side. The small Columi rubbed his chin as he examined the inert droid in front of him. Unlike most of the droids in Genius Droid Repair & Mods, this droid possessed a heavier frame with more high-quality parts. Its tightly packaged servos and reinforced musculature was not typical of the usual droids that Zentripoli worked on. This particular one was a prototype, and in many ways, highly illegal across most of the galaxy.
To Zentripoli, he was now involved in a “technological race”. For the Columi who considered all angles, word on the street was that the local dealers of illegal droid parts discovered that he was working on an assassin droid prototype. Whether they heard of the small alien’s ingenuity or they simply wanted another competitor off the board, it did not matter to the small criminal. In the end, he simply knew that he had to get this droid operational and produced to sell in a much smaller timetable. Thus, Zentripoli had been working night after night on the droid. Fortunately, he had just finished putting the last touches on his own combat platfrom—the ZDT-415 Columi Combat Platform. It had been years in the making, designing a vehicle to safely and efficiently transport him and those of his race around the galaxy without drawing too much attention. But lately, it seemed it was not just a side project, but more of a necessity for survival
Stopping briefly to look over to the vehicle, Zentripoli tried to tell the difference in his vehicle and one of the droids the frame was based on. As acute as the Columi’s vision was, he was unable to tell which is which. A small smile crept to the small alien’s face. He thought to himself…
Let the shell game begin…
He shifted his attention back to the transport droid he was sitting atop of, deftly using its heavy manipulators to move the droid’s arm and begin reattaching the limb. While part of the reason for staying late this evening was to get some more work done, the primary reason was to meet Uul-Rha-Shan. The Tiss’Shar was competent and a professional—not to mention possessing quite the intimidation factor, which Zentripoli knew he needed. Regardless, he asked for him to come meet him in the shop for another job. What the small Columi was also considering was to contract the Tiss’Shar full time—this time was more of an “audition” than a real need for a contract.
Looking over to his ZDT-415, Zentripoli’s mind projected to the combat platform. The four cerebellums that the Columi possessed within their brains provided the ability to project and transmit radio waves to droids, sending impulse control, allowing a sort of telepathic manipulation of droids. Fearful of “hacking the radio waves”, Zentripoli attuned his specific frequency to the droids he controlled the most, which allowed for a more precise control of the droid he wished to manipulate. In all cases, the droids were receptive to this sort of manipulation. The droids that this was done to understood that if Zentripoli opted for direct control, it was because he needed their help. Most of the time, the small Columi would ask for permission as a courtesy. In times of emergencies, this was not the case. The small alien would quickly grapple control if it were a matter of survival.
The ZDT-415 began to move, striding confidently over next to the Columi and began splitting apart wires delicately with its manipulators. The precise movements were given by the power of the Columi's mind, which in turn translated to physical precision. A few more adjustments were needed on this prototype while he waited for the droids and the Tiss'shar to arrive.
Zentripoli has spent a lot of time working with the ZDT-415. To the Crymorah Syndicate criminal, he knew that he would need the extra protection when dealing with the uncertainty and shifting alliances of the underworld…
