"I,"Refel stopped he hadn't meant for his lie to go so far but the truth was about to come out,"the Jedi who took me here it's his lightsaber he wanted me to keep it but it sounds like I stole it from him and I didn't he died while bringing me here and he gave me this lightsaber as a token of hope and good will. We had been attacked by pirates and I had gotten away on the only escape pod so I told everyone he had sent me off world but that," he paused that Jedi had been his friend,"that's the truth."
Cade could see it was, and he was pleased that he had admitted it. He could not fear to confide in his master, he was there to help, "Okay. You may well keep it as a trinket, but it is not your lightsaber. When you build your own tool you will pour yourself into it and you will be guided by the Force as you build it. Give me that lightsaber, get yourself cleaned up, get some sleep and return tomorrow."
Refel felt releived and handed over the lightsaber to his master and returned to his quarters to freshen up. He slept well and had no nightmares about the death of his former "master."

Refel returned cleaned and in new tarnished gold rimmed and brown robes to his master in the courtyard and he almost felt his chin tufts move in anticipation.

"There are caves," said Cade slowly, "just south of the enclave. It is the task of a padawan to venture there, armed only with the Force, and retrieve a crystal. That is what you must now do. I will await your return"

Refel emptied his pockets onto the stone bench bowing before heading off out towards the caves.
Refel walked through the tall trees letting the Force guide him to a strong imprint in the Force. The sun had recently risen and dew still clung to the leaves sparkling in the morning sun. Birds began chirping now and Refel walked on through the trees. He could see a small clearing up ahead and as he appproached he saw the open,dark,looming mouth of a cave. A small shiver went down his spine but the morning was warm. Refel swallowed and approached the cave mouth. He stood for a econd before walking into the cave.

Up ahead he could see a faint glow but as he took his first step a vision of his parents shimered into life in front of him."Are you still pursuing the role of a Jedi?" his mother spat the word,"You should have become a politician like we wanted for you now you have failed to us!" "This is my own life not yours! I choose my own path and I choose the path of a Jedi!" The visage dissapeared and he continued on through the passageway the light growing stronger. Again a phantom blocked his path. It was the Jedi who had found him on his home planet and taken him in."You call yourself a Jedi you have done nothing right your master is displeased and ashamed!" "No, I am young I will learn and you will be remembered because of it." Again the phantom dissapeared and he walked further in. He had reached the glow and he entered the antechamber. Millions of crystals lined the walls and he let the Force guide him to a small cluster of yellow crystals. His hand reached out selecting one and putting it in his pocket he turned and left the cavern.

Refel was approaching the exit and he saw another vision but this one seemed more real and frantic it seemed like a Jedi but it didn't talk it simply drew it's lightsaber and swung at him. Refel leaped out of the cave and pulled a rock that had been under his feet knocking the man off balance. He summoned a burst of energy pushing the man deep into the cave with the Force. Refel bent over slightly, panting before standing upand walking back to the enclave.
When he reached his master and pulled out the crystal he had selected,"This is the one the Force guided me to, am I ready to begin construction on my own lightsaber?" Refel didn't sound impatient simply curious.

"When I first arrived at the cave I was confronted with a vision of my parents who questioned my choice of becoming a Jedi rather than a politician. I answered that I controlled my own life and I would be my own person. Then I was confronted by the Jedi who had taken me off world wh said I had dissapointed you and would not become a truly good Jedi." Refel paused before continuing,"I said I was young and would come to be a Jedi who would leave a legacy for him. After that I reached the crystals and the Force guided me to this one," he gestured at the stone lying on the bench,"However when i was leaving I was confronted by a phantom who seemed real, come to think of it he resembled me in a way, he attacked me and i was able to get away and shove him down the cave with the Force which really exerted my power. I rested for a moment but he didn't return and then I came back to the enclave." Refel finished his story he could think of nothing he had left out.
"Hmmm," said Cade pensively. This was the first time he had heard of Force phantoms on Ossus, but he supposed a cave shrouded in the Force had all kinds of mysteries. Whereas him encoutnering no beasts on the way there, that was strange. The forests of Ossus were filled with creatures audacious enough to attack a human.
"Follow me," he said and he led him to a large wooden table, on which lay hundreds of lightsaber parts, "and sit before the table, put the crystal on the table and meditate."

Refel let the Force guide his mind towards the objects. While he could not see his work with his eyes he saw it with the Force. The crystal floated into the air and other parts came up to join it before it seemed that he had all the peices and it came together into a beutiful work of art. Still using the Force he activated it sending a bright, glowing, yellow beam out from the end of the silver cylinder. Refel reached out and grabbed it feeling it's power. He turned to his master.
