Rector Xic: Standard Classes

Welcome!

This thread will serve as a sign-up thread for all of my Standard Classes. These classes will be led by Darth Xic, Sith Rector of the Dark Council. As such, Darth Xic will be teaching classes to all ranks. The profile of Darth Xic can be found in the middle of my signature--- or just click here.

My standard classes will be on-going and always available.

All of these classes are to be applied for; I will fill slots as fairly as possible.

I will no longer be running Standard Classes with slots, instead pairing applicants as I see fit and filling threads in whichever way I deem convenient and possible. I will put all of the links to classes in this thread, and they will be available only as I have time. For clarification, I intend to fulfill every class offered, but it may take me a while until I get to it (so patience is required/appreciated). To let players know I have seen their post, I will be replying to applications here. If for some reason you have been dropped from a class, please Visitor Message or Private Message me and we will work something out. I will only drop applicants if I see that they are no longer active or if they archive their character.

If you do not finish a thread, you will not gain credit for the class.

Acolyte Classes

Form IV Ataru Basics:

This class will help Acolytes learn about Ataru, its principles, and the basic techniques. A student can take this class as many times as they like. Students that are not interested in learning Ataru but wish to practice against its users may also apply.

This will be the only class still led by my character Nox, as Xic does not know this form.

Form V Shien/Djem So, Form VI Niman, Form VII Juyo:

These are three separate classes, so please distinguish which course(s) you would like to take. I listed these three together, as they are all of the forms that Xic knows and is willing to teach to Acolytes. These courses will teach students about the respective Forms, their principles, and basic techniques. This class may be repeated. Applicants that do not wish to learn the Form but instead practice against those that are capable of using it may sign up for these threads as well (please state that you intend to serve as a sparring partner in the thread).

Telekinesis Basics:

This class will teach students the basics of Telekinesis, including Push/Pull. Students may take this course as many times as they like, but will eventually be pushed to take the intermediate course.

Telekinesis Intermediate:

This class is for students that are slightly more advanced in the arts of Telekinesis. I will only accept applicants who have taken my Basics course, an equivalent from another instructor, or that can provide sufficient examples of their basic competency in the art. The Intermediate course will focus on refining the student's control, pushing them to grow more powerful with it, and new principles for using the art in more advanced ways.

Alter Basics:

Alter Basics will teach students about Speed and Jump. Students may take this class more than once, but will be limited in how many times they can take it and will not have priority over new students.

Tutaminis Basics:

Tutaminis Basics will teach students about how to absorb energy. Though this class will only teach Acolytes how to absorb small amounts of energy, thus not protecting them from lightsaber attacks or blaster fire, this class lays the groundwork for using their power defensively. Once students have trained extensively in Tutaminis, they should be able to defend themselves with it in combat.

Force Spark:

This class is to teach students a very basic, extremely weak form of Force Lightning. It would not be utilizable for PvP combat, except maybe as a quick little shock against weak NPCs. The purpose of this course is to lay a groundwork for students, so that it is easier to learn Lightning once they rank up to Crusader. Using Force Spark in multiple threads before ranking to Crusader and learning the full ability from an instructor will help your character so that they don't burn themselves badly in their first attempts to use Lightning. Force Lightning is a powerful and dangerous ability that even most Crusaders have a difficult time using. I highly recommend this course for all Sith who wish to some day use Lightning in high-risk threads, even if the course itself seems rather small in purpose.

Mental Force Advancement

This course will focus on abilities like Force Sight, Telepathy, Thought Shield, and Stealth. Because this course covers multiple abilities, I will make an offer to the students at the beginning of each thread. Students will decide which ability they wish to start with and we will proceed from there. After each successful lesson, Xic will offer yet another ability. Students may elect for all four lessons or opt out of a lesson that they do not need. You will not be kicked out of the thread/class for opting out of a lesson, so you may either leave at your leisure or stick around and wait for a new lesson.

Crusader Classes


Lightsaber Proficiency:

Applicants may choose from Form V Shien/Djem So, Form VI Niman, and/or Form VII Juyo. Please specify which course(s) you would like to take. All of these courses will focus on further advancing participants in the given Form that they have already learned, making them proficient and able to hold their own in a fight. This course may be repeated.

Telekinesis Focus:

This class will focus on the following abilities: Saber Throw, Grip/Choke, Levitate, and general Telekinesis. Xic will offer these abilities on an individual basis, as some of these abilities are more advanced than others and require even Crusaders to practice extensively in the art of Telekinesis before they can learn them. This course may be repeated.

Mental Force Overhaul:

This class will focus on the following abilities: Fear, Cloak, and Tutaminis. All of these abilities are available to Crusaders, so Xic will go through them one at a time during each class. This class may be repeated to enhance a student's abilities.

Lethal Techniques

This class will focus on the following abilities: Drain, Weapon, Lightning, Pyrokinesis. Some of these abilities are far more advanced than others, even for Crusaders, and should only be taught to experienced Crusaders that are willing to take risks. For that reason, some of these abilities will be offered on an individual basis. This course can be repeated to either gain formerly unattainable abilities or further enhanced any that were already learned.

Just for the record, I've seen all current sign ups.

There will, unfortunately, be a bit of a delay in getting these sessions up. I've only just started my last round with Nox, his last round of classes as a Crusader. Once those are mostly wrapped up, Xic will be in action and these sessions will go underway.

I love your classes, so I would like to sign ark up for a few more classes! I am actually very happy to see that Xic is teaching Shien/D'jem So, so i would like to throw him in there!

-I like to think that Ark is a good D'jem So user, but I think it would be great for him to actually learn D'jem So from a Master.

Intermediate Telekinesis
-I only sign up for this class because I am currently in your basic class with Nox and it looks like you plan on starting your classes with Xic after Nox's classes. I understand that you may actually want me to perform some telekinesis after taking your class, so I will be willing to take a later class if need be. :)

Mental Force Advancement
-More specifically, I would like Ark to stay through the entire class no matter what he already knows. It can never hurt to further your knowledge or to continue your knowledge in a skill right?

--Now I realize that Ark will probably be quite low on the list of who is most eligible to take the classes since I've taken a few classes with you already, though the order in which I signed up for the classes are in order of importance. Thank you :)
