Trade on the Corellian Run

Corellian_Run_zpsydd44fiv.png

Mission Briefing said:
The Corellian Run is the single most used hyperspace route for trade and travel through the southern arm of the galaxy. The route is often utilised by Agents of the Trade for transporting medical supplies, military grade weapons and even some things as far as slaves. A report has suggested that one of these ships is carrying a shipment of MandalTech weaponry. Your mission is to seize the ship, capture the cargo, and if possible, the vessel itself.

OBJECTIVES:
- Catch up to the Smuggler Vessel
- Board the vessel
- Capture its cargo
- If possible, capture the ship too.

-~ In front of the Dark Angel ~-
# Hangar 2C, Rebel capital Ship "Pax Liberty" - 07:50 AM Board time

When the Jenny, also known as Dark Angel, now looked at the ship, all shiny and with all the recent damage repaired, she almost felt ready for the job. Her eyebrows furrowed for a second there. Too bad she was only the pilot on this mission. She did not bother to ask, where the rebellion got the flight plans for this freighter, but knew very well the necessity getting more weapons.

She missed her time as Commando, being able to sneak, shoot and kick butts, but this was how things went. She was ordered, and so she did. Checking the time, it was about time the others would arrive, so they could start soon.

-~ Freighter Estromuss ~-
# Planet Racher, Spaceport - 09:32 AM Local time

At the time Kalo arrives at the freighter he was hired to protect, he first saw the 'crew' standing in front of him, assigned for the protection of the Cargo, and staring at him in expectation of an introduction.

The Estromuss was an ugly, bumpy looking thing by Kalo Wolftenn's account. The engineering seemed to be done without regard to piracy. The airlocks were in the back, but so was the engineering section, which meant that if Kalo tried to depressurize the rear section to prevent an attack, the attackers could easily just sabotage the engine and leave him stranded. He only hoped the ship would have some sort of false panel bottoms for smuggling. Those could at least protect his cargo from any pirates.

Planet Racher wasn't Kalo's first choice, but the long night of seducing and bribing was well worth it. He was able to talk his way onto the crew by explaining that he had worked as an escort for Hutt Cartel shipments for years. Little did his employers know, he was the other kind of escort and had only flown a ship a handful of times. He'd never expected to be named Captain, but he was feeling optimistic as he approached the crew standing before him. Maintaining composure and feigning the experience of a seasoned captain, he greeted them.

"I am Captain Kalo Wolftenn, you may simply address me as Captain. I trust you've all seen your share of cargo protection work. If anyone has any questions I'd suggest you ask them before we board." he spoke with authority, observing each of them, trying to look into their eyes and establish a sort of intimidation.

The Hired Gun, Botan, was imposingly mysterious, which gave Kalo a measure of comfort. He seemed reliable enough, but Kalo knew hired guns were more interested in the payout than the mission. He couldn't count on Botan to take any risks on his behalf. Still, no one got fancy armor like that without being a decent shot. He'd hold his own if he knew things were going his way.

Snegge might be a bit more loyal. Her uniform and stature implied that she had a cause. Snegge in reality probably had more experience than Kalo did, but Kalo would maintain the disguise of an experienced Captain and rely on her for advice.

Kalo Wolftenn had only ever seen Force-Users from a distance, but this Zeerya was probably one of them. Some of the rumors he'd heard said that these Force-Users were loyal to a fault, but others could be treacherous.

He'd really hoped there was at least one person he could trust on this voyage.

In any case, Botan seemed quiet so Snegge and Zeerya were going to be Kalo's focus for a few hours. He held out his hand for Snegge to shake as he awaited his crew's response to his earlier question.

Jaleer was wearing his jedi robes that go all the way down wrist, with his lightsaber strapped to his belt, he was ready to on the mission. This would be his first time working with the Rebellion, and he wanted to make a good first impression. He knew that since he was the only jedi on the team that he was going to have to be ready to help when the worst happens. Jaleer wasn't told much about who was going on the mission and that made him a little nervous, if he didn't know who was going he wouldn't be able to make a plan. Plus he would have to get to know them personally which can take time, which they won't have much time during the mission.

But he was going to make the best out of the situation he was in, he needed the experience and Jaleer needs to learn to be more decisive. As Jaleer got closer to the hangar and felt a force user in the hangar, though it wasn't like a Jedi, a beacon the light side of the force, but it wasn't like the Sith either, a beacon of the dark side of the force. Jaleer walked slowly and once he entered the hangar he say the source of the strange sensation he was feeling. A attractive fit woman stood there, though she was older than Jaleer he had a hard time controlling himself, causing him to blushed a little, he cursed his inexperience with woman, making think such things. After shaking his head, he slowly and cautiously walked towards the force sensitive Rebel.

"Hello there, I'm Jaleer Reukli a Jedi padawan. I most say it's weird to find another force user during these times. I'm assuming you will be with us during the mission. But I'm sorry I curious where did you get your training in the force?" Jaleer asked smiling at the women.

"Oh sorry I forget myself sometimes may I ask you for your name? I wasn't given much information and I would like to know personally who I'm working with." Jaleer was trying to be as civil as he could be hoping to win the Rebels approval.

A very subtle hand movement interrupted Zeera's movement which then was changed to only taking half a step towards Kalo and look down obediently when Snegge looked at his hand with slightly furrowed brows and a few hardening lines around her mouth.

At the end, she took it nevertheless and gave him a surprisingly firm handshake "We've all been briefed and the ship is ready to launch exactly at the scheduled time.. Captain" she answered with not exactly the warmest voice but one that made clear that everybody already knew his place and his orders most probably would be followed.

When Snegge turned around to enter the ship, the two others followed her example and moved in ahead of her while she moved in a slower pace that apparently assumed the Captain would follow "If you wish to, you can inspect the cargo containers, and I assume I do not have to remind you that opening even one of them will void your payment, employment and right of residence aboard this ship." which meant in translation: Open a crate and you will find yourself on the outer, colder, air-less side of the airlock.

Jennifer's eyes narrowed more and more the further the Jedi brought his sentences. She did not appreciate being called out as a force user right at the start of the conversation and she was also not very keen to explain her abilities to someone who asked questions right before introducing himself.

"Captan Jennifer Suran, you may address me as Captain Suran or merely Captain" she brought out a little colder than intended and as she noticed it she proceeded a little more friendlier "I'm not strong enough in the Force to be trained and never had any intention to change that, that's what you are here for. And please do not blurt out my ability to everyone we meet, I prefer this to be private."

Kalo couldn't help but suspect that Snegge knew he was bluffing. She might have felt a bit screwed out of the highest paying position. Kalo's paranoia was getting to him. She was the only person who brought her own bodyguard, who seemed to be entirely loyal. If there was ever a mutineer among a crew, it would be her.

The Captain followed after his crew with veiled suspicion. Once they were aboard he ordered Snegge to start up the engines and Botan to follow him into the cargo hold for a brief personnel interview.

Oh how Prospero loathed space travel. He felt defenseless, and cramped. A ship hold's comfort was no contest when compared to the silence of a sniper's blind. Approaching the ship in its hangar, the sniper located the small vessel meant to be used on their little strike mission. Prospero carried a datapad to confirm the name, as well as for other...nefarious purposes. In his other hand, he carried a rather large rifle case and a rather large kitbag was drawn around his shoulders. He quickly placed the datapad back into his combat gear.

Approaching his apparent captain, he stopped a respectable distance and snapped his feet together before quickly raising his hand to his head in a salute. "Captain. Tyler Prospero, reporting for duty. I'll be your sniper during this operation." Prospero carried himself like a professional, and somebody who had taken shots many times and made them successfully. A sniper in a ship-to-ship engagement would be near useless in his preferred field, but Prospero had a few ideas to get around this. The large amount of equipment he had stowed away wasn't just for general preparedness.

Jaleer was surprised by the captains aggressiveness at first when she introduce herself. But when she explained why he realized his mistake and understood the reason behind it. Jaleer decided it was best to make up to the captain before anyone else joined us.

"I'm sorry captain, I forget myself sometime and I will keep your secret. This is the first time I'm going on a mission with the Rebels so I didn't think I will find another." Once Jaleer had apologize he looked around, knowing that someone else was suppose to be here.

"An if I may captain where is-" just than a man carrying a giant rifle, and a kitbag over his shoulders walked in.

Jaleer walked away from the Captain not to far back but enough to give the man space since he was approaching her. Once he gave his military introduction, Jaleer felt this man will be a good asset but since Jaleer knew they are raiding a ship wondered how he was going to use that giant sniper rifle. Jaleer waited for the captain to say something, and stayed quiet not that he was trying to be unnoticed but rather he was waiting for his chance to introduce himself. Jaleer while waiting began to spin the two small metal spheres his mother once gave him over his right hand, it helped him relax and gave his mind something to do but his attention was mostly to his teammates. Jaleer smiled while waiting hoping to be seen as a kind person first than a good jedi second though his spinning of the metal spheres would make it hard for someone to see Jaleer as a person first rather than a Jedi.

The order to start up the engine was received surprisingly well by the second in command and she and her bodyguard went on to do as ordered. They at least seemed to be professionals, content by having the limitations cleared up so far.

Botan on the other hand reacted immediately and now stood in front of the Captain-for-one-trip and his stance seemed to indicate clearly that he was listening. But he did not talk. At all.

Could be one of these cases where the title he is given is indeed descrptive, and bothan was indeed... silent.

But at least, he took of his helmet to reveal long black hair combed back and a less male statue, looking at him with cold, brown eyes

-~-

Jennifer nodded slightly at Jaleer while she eyed the sniper arriving, speaking in a tone low enough to senure the Jedi could hear it "The last master trying to tech me stuff said 'the Force is different in each of you, concentrat on what you can but do not give into the illusion to be a Jedi so soon'" and answered the salute with a salute on her own. She smiled inwardly, but did not allow this to break her mask of seriousness when she asked "I look forward in how a sniper will be handling the close combat situaton on a freighter, but I heard you are one of these trueshots." she then looked at the Jedi, back to the Sniper and tried to shove away the horrible horrible ways this thing could go south.

Instead, she pointed at the ramp of her freighter "Get in and make yourself acquaint with each, we've only got a short two-hour jump ahead, if the other party is on shedule."

"Botan the Silent." Kalo said inquisitively. "You don't get names like that without some good stories I bet."

He was met with silence.

"Well, look, we'll be stuck on board together for awhile. I don't want any surprises, but I'm a cautious man. I'd prefer this voyage go as smooth as possible, and if you make sure that I walk off this ship still in full command when we get to our destination, I'll give you 15% of my wage. Blink twice for 'Yes', stand on one foot for 'No'." Kalo bargained. Sure, hired guns like money, but this request served a number of functions. Was Silent Bo interested in bargaining? Did they like their Captain so far? And most importantly, would they follow commands they didn't want to do?

Prospero placed himself at ease and responded with a simple "Yes, Captain." With a sharp turn, the sniper ventured up the ramp and settled himself into the small cargo hold, pulling up a few manners of charts and datapads from his rather large pack before setting it down. Within a few minutes, the man had simply claimed a corner of the freighter to himself. With a small marker, he drew many lines and connecting points, as if he were the one leading the mission. His calculations would aid him much more than a captain's orders would.

"If anybody would like to start forming up a plan...right here. Else, we wing it." He clicked open the rifle case that he had set down. Inside was a rather hefty and scary-looking rifle. Inside were five magazines painted with the characters, "M492-1 APFSDS". Whatever plan that was running through Prospero's head, he had plans to do it right. Unrolling his pack and removing other materials, he removed his rather advanced looking helmet and rebreather, as well as some peculiar looking boots. Of course, there was a few backup firearms in there in case his idea wouldn't work out, or was vetoed.

Jaleer understood where the captain was coming from and went into the ship when she pointed to the ramp of the ship. Once inside he kept close to the sniper, who seemed to had taken a corner of the ship all to himself. Jaleer watched as the man took out several helmets and other gadgets that Jaleer didn't know the name of. Jaleer took out his two small metal spheres and began to spin them in circles over his right hand. He approach the sniper to get to know the sniper.

"Hello my name is Jaleer, a Jedi padawan, well if we are talking about plans here is my plan. I'm guessing I will be in front during the I boarding the captain can be mid and you be in the rear. Do you have any experience with ships if not I will see if the captain will be able to disable the ship. I can cover us if worst comes to worst and they have a force user let me handle it." Jaleer didn't have much experience but he is the only one who had extensive training with the force.

Although she did not say a single word, Botan made it very clear that she was not amused about the inquiry about her past and simply nodded when the captain spoke about this trip going smoothly. Her attitude quickly changed when he offered her a share and was quite quick in making a scoffing face and put back on her helmet, turn around and walk towards the bridge. After a few steps, she flicked a old coin over her right shoulder in a stable enough ballistic sphere easy to catch. An old 1-Credit coin. And with old, it's meant ancient. It probably was not even accepted as payment anymore, so it could only be a token... or a message.

-~-

From the speakers in the upper corners of the room the two where sitting in, Jennifers voice spoke up "If the Airlock is no good, we can carve a hole in the hull and enter from a different point. Also keep in mind we are going to enter this ship, not annexing it. Non lethal ammo, no frag grenades... at best, no grenades at all"

Kalo watched Botan leave and stared at the coin. Could be a sign of trust.

Or maybe she's marking you as a target.

Things with Silent Bo weren't going as planned. Not only did she seem uninterested in his pay, she was giving him some seriously negative vibes. Normally he had such an easy time with women, due in no small part to his Zeltron pheromone implant, but everyone on this ship gave him the jitters. His second in command was a stuck-up schutta, her bodyguard was some sort of witch, and now the silent hired gun might be trying to kill him.

"Well, that is just maddeningly unhelpful." he said under his breath, removing the coin from its case and rolling it back and forth over his knuckles while he returned to the cockpit to check on the flight.

Prospero was continually marking bits and pieces of information on his little chart of the run until the Captain spoke the words "non-lethal". The sniper's head jerked around on his neck as if it were on a high-powered servo. A rather loud, surprised, and uncharacteristic "HUEEEEEE?!", left his mouth.

"So you want us to just...take a freighter. And if they say no, we just hit them with a bit of rubber? Should I remind everybody that they'll probably have bodyguards or mercs...with guns that aren't set to stun?" He looked at his plan on the map. Its details consisted of a special thermal sight, Prospero being tethered and magnetized to the hull of their freighter, and firing a high-impact anti-material rifle through the target freighter hull to take out any adversaries. Prospero promptly tore down the map and placed a new copy up and then began cutting the rifle down into its closer-range counterpart for storage. "Well. Unless you'd prefer me to just go on board and give them two tickets to the gun show-," The sniper said, flexing his rather burly body, "Then I'll either need a gun that won't take somebody's arms off, or authorization to put them down hard." If this was a non-lethal mission, then command shouldn't have commissioned a sniper.

Jaleer looked at the sniper, he wasn't one for violence, and understood why the captain said what she said. Jaleer understood the ship and the cargo was the mission and they weren't to take any measures to damage either of them.

"Understood captain." Jaleer said loudly so the captain can hear it, Jaleer sat down next to the sniper, with the metal spheres still spinning over his right hand.

"So sniper what do you think the plan should be?" Jaleer asked the sniper, wanting to help form a plan to take down the ship.

When the captain arrived at the cockpit, he almost could smell the heavy smell of an almost-confrontation, clearly indicated by the fact that Snegge was sitting in the co-pilots seat, her bodyguard between Snegge and Botan, who was sitting at the weapons control. While Snegge and Botan kept their faces straight to the controls, the bodyguard changed her direction from one to another, clearly waiting for something to happen. It changed quickly when Snegge coldly announced "Preparation are complete, we are ready to start on your orders." and with a small pause, she added "Captain" with a tone that made Botan look at her for a second.

-~-

"I did not say we won't kill anyone. All I say is we need the Captain alife. If you can distinguish who is who, then you can shoot away, until then we need to stay on the save side" And with a silent squeak, the 'Captain' (A title she only had since it was her ship) closed the intercom and started the ship. It may have been strange to feel the actual start, since Jennifer reduced the interia dampeners to 95%, to ensure she felt the movements of the ship. Something usually made by fighter pilots, not freighter pilots.

Also, the rest of the planning was thus burdened on them two, since Jennifer was now busy flying the ship.

Prospero sighed. There was no reason they should've kept the captain alive. One of them could've just piloted the ship back...but the parameters were now in place. Prospero dug through his backup gear and fished out some useful items. He wouldn't be using anything long range, for the most part. Very quickly, he hung a schematic of their target model ship up and quickly etched lines and drew on it. He pointed to it while looking at the Padawan he was to be working with. "Alright, first, we divide up the ship parts into sectors. try to keep up. We'll be entering through the Seven's airlock, how we do that is how our Captain wants to insert us. But, I've got rebreathers and I'm sure there's a spare suit somewhere in here if we just want to get spaced and cut through with a lightsaber or torch."

Prospero moved his finger up the map. "This is your path, in brown. I'll be clearing the first corner while you move into engineering. The tight quarters are more suited to you. Once engineering is clear, regroup on the stairs and bulkhead to Six. I toss a flash and we move, each taking a side of the room. Stack up on the Four-Five hall bulkhead. I move left and clear out Four while you take Five. Move back, carefully advance down the hallway and check the bathroom. I'll check the showers. After this, move up to the Two-Three split. I'll be clearing out Two and you'll be clearing Three. When Two is clear, I'll move back to the Split and stack up at the door into One. You, however, will be planting a kicker charge on the wall in Three facing into One. On my signal, blow the charge and move through the breach. One is perfect for guards to stack up on the slanted corners and create a crossfire, so this eliminates that. I'll move in as soon as the breach occurs and clear the left side of the room before turning center."

Prospero finally had a large exhale after his plan was finished. Things were bound to change during the operation, but this was a good way of starting things off. It was clear that the sniper had a good bit of experience doing these sorts of things. He reached into the supplies he brought and retrieved a flash grenade and the kicker charge with its detonator and set them on a ledge next to the Jedi. "These are yours. Use the grenade to soften up Five."

He fished around for two more and put them in his chest rig, then turned to his weaponry and took a long while figuring out what he'd be using on board the target vessel. It would be counter-productive to use anything heavy. "Captain! What's your flight ability like? How close can you get us to the target airlock?" He called out, trying to gauge how the entry would work.

Jaleer was looking at the map, an it took a little bit for him to register everything the sniper said but eventually he got it. Jaleer looked over the map once more trying to see if the plan needed to change, but Jaleer wasn't experience with these kind of operations and couldn't think of something that needed to be changed. Jaleer looked at the sniper once he was finished thinking about the plan.

"So what kind of opposition do you think we will face, Tyler? I would imagine at least 3 or more guards. An they would most likely be hiding behind some of the cargo in sector 6, or they could be hold up in sectors 4 and 5, waiting for us to go through sector 6 and ambush us there while we go through the room. We will have to be careful going through sector 6, since that room can provide the best room for a ambush. I think I should be up front when we head into sector 6, just in case." Jaleer was surprised by how strong he sounded when inside he was a nervous wreck and felt out of place, he wasn't even sure if what he said made sense, by he felt that he should be the one in front so he could provide cover for his team mates.

"Mind your tone, schutta, or I'll have you fastened to the front of the freighter while we shoot through hyper-space. If you think I don't have permission from your superiors to dump you into the cold abyss, you're sorely mistaken. Your behavior borders on insubordination, and I have every mind to put Zeerya in your chair." Kalo barked. Now that they were underway he needed to show a firmer hand. As long as one member of the crew feared or loved him, he knew he'd be fine. Still rolling the coin over his knuckles, he took his seat and added "Proceed to take off."

There was no response from the Captain, since the intercom have been closed. Someone would have to either go up to the cockpit or use the intercom.

-~-

The only answer Kalo got on that was a calm and possibly silghtly intimidated "Yes, sir" fom Snegge, the others remained silent.

Not long after, the ship was in space and Snegge looked at Kalo "ETA three days, we will have to dropp out of hyperspace and change course in twelve ours. Your orders?"
